Abstract

The rapid development of social networking sites (SNS) has significantly transformed social interaction patterns, ways of life, and identity formation. Numerous studies indicate that excessive SNS use may develop into a form of behavioral addiction, commonly referred to as social networking sites addiction, as comprehensively analyzed by Kuss and Griffiths through ten key lessons addressing its characteristics, mechanisms, and impacts. This article aims to examine the challenges posed by SNS addiction to Islamic Religious Education (Pendidikan Agama Islam/PAI) and to formulate relevant educational implications based on the findings of Kuss and Griffiths. This study employs a qualitative literature-based approach using conceptual and critical analysis of Kuss and Griffiths’ work, supported by relevant literature in Islamic education and behavioral psychology. The findings reveal that SNS addiction presents major challenges for PAI, including weakened self-regulation, distorted life orientation, identity crises, decreased learning concentration and religious engagement, shifts in social interaction patterns, and limitations in current pedagogical approaches of Islamic education in addressing digital addiction. Based on these challenges, the article emphasizes the need to reorient Islamic Religious Education toward strengthening self-regulation, integrating social media addiction issues into the curriculum, developing reflective and contemplative learning methodologies, and adopting an integrative educational approach that combines Islamic values with contemporary psychological insights. Consequently, Islamic Religious Education is expected to play a strategic role in shaping learners who are faithful, morally grounded, and responsible in navigating digital life.

Abstract

This study aims to reveal three main aspects: (1) the difficulties experienced by students in speaking skills during Indonesian language learning in class IX D at MTs Muhammad Basiuni Imran Sambas in the 2024/2025 academic year; (2) the factors that cause these difficulties; and (3) the teacher’s strategies in overcoming students’ speaking challenges. This research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive qualitative design. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, while data analysis included data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the main difficulty faced by students lies in limited vocabulary, which affects their ability to choose appropriate words when speaking. The contributing factors include psychological aspects, such as low self-confidence, and environmental influences, particularly the frequent use of local languages instead of Indonesian in daily communication. Teachers play a crucial role in addressing these issues by implementing a direct teaching strategy. This strategy focuses on teacher-centered learning with structured steps such as explanation, demonstration, practice, and direct feedback. Through this approach, students become more active and confident in developing their speaking skills)

Abstract

This study aims to examine innovative game-based learning strategies in Christian Religious Education for early childhood through a literature review. Learning at this stage needs to be adjusted to children’s cognitive, socio-emotional, and motor development, making play-based and holistic learning approaches highly essential. The findings indicate that instilling faith values is more effective when delivered through concrete experiences such as Bible stories, prayer, worship songs, and social interaction. Learning innovations through educational games, storytelling, role-play, creative media, and the use of technology can enhance children’s engagement and understanding. These strategies not only support cognitive development but also shape children’s character and spiritual life. Therefore, game-based learning is a relevant and effective approach in Christian Religious Education for early childhood.

Abstract

Academic procrastination, or the habit of putting off assignments, is a common problem experienced by students and impacts academic achievement, motivation, and mental health. One approach used to address this problem is group counseling. Group counseling provides opportunities for students to discuss, share experiences, and support each other, thereby increasing motivation, self-management skills, and a sense of responsibility for academic tasks. This study used a journal review method, reviewing various previous studies that discussed the effectiveness of group counseling in reducing academic procrastination. The review results indicate that group counseling has been proven effective in reducing procrastination in both junior high and high school students. For junior high students, group counseling functions more as social support and external motivation, while for high school students, group counseling plays a more important role in strengthening self-efficacy and learning independence. Factors such as active member involvement, facilitator quality, and school support also influence the success of group counseling.
