Abstract

Learning responsibility is an important character competency that influences students’ academic success and independence. However, some junior high school students still experience difficulties in managing learning obligations, completing assignments, and maintaining academic discipline. This study aims to analyze the role of Guidance and Counseling (BK) teachers in improving students’ learning responsibility at Budi Satrya Junior High School Medan. This study employed a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, non-participant observations, and document analysis involving BK teachers, students, principals, and homeroom teachers. Data were analyzed using Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña’s interactive model through data condensation, data display, and conclusion verification. Data validity was ensured through triangulation, member checking, and audit trails. The findings indicate that BK teachers play roles as facilitators, motivators, counselors, mediators, and evaluators. BK services implemented through individual counseling, classical guidance, consultation, monitoring, and collaboration with school stakeholders contributed to improving students’ discipline, time management, task completion, and learning awareness. The role of BK teachers significantly supports the development of students’ learning responsibility through systematic services and a humanistic approach. Strengthening sustainable BK programs is essential for developing independent, disciplined, and responsible learners in the context of 21st-century education.

Abstract

This research aims to conceptualize an animation-based zakat learning video as an educational medium in Islamic Religious Education, focusing on needs analysis, instructional design, and the validity and reliability of measurement instruments. The study is motivated by the phenomenon of low understanding of zakat concepts among elementary and secondary school students, due to conventional teaching methods that are less effective for abstract material. This qualitative research employs a conceptual study approach through three stages: literature identification, analysis and synthesis, and concept formulation. The findings reveal: (1) needs analysis identified the necessity for visualizing abstract zakat concepts, alignment with the characteristics of the digital generation, practicality for teachers, simulation of calculation and distribution processes, and enhancement of student motivation; (2) video design was conceptualized through the integration of Cognitive Theory of Multimedia Learning, constructivism, and the ADDIE model; (3) evaluation instruments were developed through content validity (Aiken's V/CVI) and reliability (Cronbach's Alpha ≥ 0.70) involving four groups of assessors. These three conceptual pillars form a comprehensive framework for developing animation-based zakat learning videos that are effective and scientifically accountable.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of technology-based academic supervision as an innovation in learning supervision in the Society 5.0 era, and to identify its impact on lecturer professionalism and learning effectiveness. The research method used is a qualitative approach with a case study type. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation, then analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results show that technology-based academic supervision can facilitate the process of monitoring and evaluating learning in real time, increase transparency and accountability of lecturer performance, and encourage more flexible and collaborative supervisory interactions through digital media. However, there are still obstacles in the form of limited digital literacy and technological infrastructure. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of strengthening digital competencies for lecturers and supervisors and institutional policy support to optimize technology-based supervision in improving the quality of learning in the Society 5.0 era.

Abstract

The tahfidz program in madrassas not only requires effective memorization learning methods, but also institutional governance that is able to maintain the sustainability of the program. This study aims to analyze the role of relational leadership in building strategic sustainability in the management of tahfidz programs in madrasah ibtidaiyah. The research uses a qualitative approach with a case study design. The informants were selected purposively, consisting of one madrasah head, two tahfidz teachers, and five students. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, non-participatory observations, and documentation studies, then analyzed through data condensation, data presentation, and conclusion drawing and verification. The validity of the data is strengthened through source triangulation, technical triangulation, and member check. The results of the study show three main findings, namely dialogical communication and professional trust, role collaboration and humanist mentoring, and adaptive monitoring, documentation, and evaluation. The sustainability of the program is built through open working relationships, clear division of responsibilities, mentoring according to the needs of students, and a structured evaluation system. The tahfidz program needs to be managed as part of the institutional system so that it runs consistently, collaboratively, and sustainably.
