Abstract

The Society 5.0 era demands the field of education to integrate high-level technology with profound human needs. This article aims to analyze the transformation of Islamic education methodology from classical approaches to digital innovation without losing its spiritual essence. The core problem addressed is the dichotomy between tradition and modernity, as well as the crisis of digital role modeling (digital qudwah) among educators. Using a library research method, this study evaluates the integration of classical values such as adab, talaqqi, and hiwar with technological innovations like Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Virtual Reality. The results show that such integration creates a "Techno-Sufistic" learning model, where technology is positioned as a means (wasilah) to achieve the ultimate goal of character building (ghayah). The conclusion of this study emphasizes that the success of Islamic education transformation in the 5.0 era depends on the educators' ability to synthesize digital sophistication with spiritual depth

Abstract

Rapid transformations in contemporary education, driven by technological advancements, globalization pressures, and secular value shifts create multifaceted challenges for nurturing students' moral and spiritual growth. This situation calls for reinforcing core Islamic educational principles to ensure their continued applicability in today's learning environments. The study examines the alignment between Islamic pedagogy and modern educational frameworks by analyzing Sharia-based sources as epistemological foundations. Employing a qualitative approach through literature review, the research draws from Quranic verses, prophetic traditions, classical exegeses, scholarly books, and relevant peer-reviewed journals. Findings reveal substantial convergence between Islamic education's foundational concepts such as divine unity (tawhid), ethical conduct (adab), moral development (akhlak), and holistic human potential and modern education priorities, particularly character formation, intellectual-spiritual balance, and ethical strengthening among learners. These results affirm that Islamic education complements rather than conflicts with contemporary systems, serving as a values-based framework to navigate modernity's complexities. Thus, Islamic education must evolve contextually and adaptively integrating religious principles into curricula, teaching methodologies, and educational technologies to function as a comprehensive, identity-preserving solution.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the phenomenon of the development of Islamic preaching in the digital era, which demands creative innovation in order to maintain the substance of Islamic teachings while attracting the attention of audiences, especially Generation Z. This research aims to design a short film entitled “Angel” as a digital medium for Islamic preaching that is relevant to Generation Z at the Al-Hikam Islamic Boarding School for Students in Malang. The method used is descriptive qualitative with a Research and Development (R&D) or media design approach. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, documentation, and literature study. The resulting work was validated by subject matter experts and media experts, and tested on seven representatives of Generation Z. The results of the research and feasibility tests by the experts showed that the short film “Angel” was suitable for publication as a digital da'wah medium. Based on the results of the respondent interviews, this film is proven to be very relevant to the characteristics of Generation Z because it presents the conflicts of the reality of student life that are easy to understand and do not seem patronizing. It can be concluded that the short film “Angel” is effective as a means of digital da'wah that is subtle, relevant, and has the potential to be well internalized by Generation Z viewers.

Abstract

The development of Artificial Intelligence in the field of education has facilitated the learning process, but it also poses serious challenges to academic ethics, such as an increased risk of plagiarism, technological dependence, and a weakening of intellectual responsibility. Ma’had Putra Universitas Al-Amien Prenduan, as a pesantren-based institution, plays a crucial role in instilling Islamic moral values to uphold the academic integrity of its students. This study focuses on two main aspects: (1) the internalization of Islamic moral values in shaping the academic ethics of students in the era of Artificial Intelligence, and (2) the transformation of Islamic moral education models in response to these technological developments. The research method employed is a descriptive qualitative approach using a case study design. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques involve data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The research findings indicate that the internalization of Islamic moral values is carried out systematically and continuously through the strengthening of faith, the cultivation of religious practices, setting a good example, educational regulations, and supervision that are integrated into daily life at the boarding school. Values such as honesty (sidq), responsibility (mas’uliyyah), trustworthiness, piety, discipline (intizam), and humility (tawadhu’) have proven to play a crucial role in shaping the academic ethics of boarding school students, particularly in the wise and responsible use of Artificial Intelligence. Meanwhile, the transformation of Islamic moral education is adaptive and selective, with an emphasis on strengthening digital ethics, verifying understanding, and controlling the use of technology without eliminating the role of exemplary behavior and habit formation as the core of moral education.

Abstract

This study aims to map research trends, implementation model characteristics, and recommendations for developing character education models based on ecopedagogy in Indonesia. The method employed is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) using the PRISMA approach, with data sourced from Google Scholar via the Publish or Perish application. Of 841 identified articles, 12 articles met the inclusion criteria and were analyzed in depth. The findings reveal three key results: first, publication trends on ecopedagogy in Indonesia increased significantly in 2024–2026, although overall output remains limited; second, model implementation is concentrated at the primary education level, with three main typologies identified, namely curricular integration, institutional models based on the Adiwiyata program, and local wisdom-based models that simultaneously integrate spiritual, social, and ecological dimensions; third, development recommendations encompass a structural direction involving cross-level educational integration, a methodological direction through a Research and Development approach, and a pedagogical direction emphasizing the enhancement of teacher competence as facilitators of ecological values. These findings indicate that ecopedagogy in Indonesia has undergone a process of indigenization that enriches the global theoretical framework with locally relevant cultural and contextual wisdom values.

Abstract

This study examines the use of Islamic slang as a communication style and its role in shaping the religious identity of Generation Z students in school environments. The research aims to analyze how Islamic slang is used in students' daily interactions, its contribution to the construction of religious identity, its influence on communication patterns among students, and its role in strengthening religious character and conveying Islamic values. This study employed a qualitative library research approach by reviewing books, journal articles, and other relevant scholarly sources related to sociolinguistics, Islamic communication, and youth language. The collected data were analyzed descriptively through data reduction, categorization, interpretation, and synthesis. The findings indicate that Islamic slang functions not only as a form of informal communication but also as a symbolic expression of students' religious identity. The use of expressions such as mā shāʾ Allāh, astaghfirullāh, barakallāh, akhi, and ukhti contributes to strengthening interpersonal relationships, fostering a sense of belonging among peers, and supporting the internalization of Islamic values in everyday communication. Furthermore, Islamic slang reflects an adaptive strategy for contemporary da'wah that aligns with the characteristics of Generation Z. However, its use requires appropriate guidance to preserve the sacred meanings of religious expressions and ensure their contextual and ethical application in educational settings

Abstract

Abstract. This study aims to describe students' perceptions of guidance and counseling (BK) services at SMKN 1 Grati. The study used a qualitative descriptive approach, with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and questionnaires. The results indicate that most students understand the function of BK services as a means of helping students overcome academic, personal, social, and career problems and supporting the development of their potential. Students' perceptions of the quality of BK services were generally positive, as demonstrated by assessments of the BK teachers' friendly demeanor, good communication skills, confidentiality of services, and willingness to provide solutions tailored to students' needs. These perceptions are influenced by various factors, such as personal experience, communication with BK teachers, the school environment, peer influence, service programs, available facilities, and students' level of understanding of BK's function. Furthermore, students expect improved service quality through easier access to consultations, the development of career guidance programs, the use of digital technology, improved counseling facilities, and strengthening the relationship between BK teachers and students. Therefore, BK services at SMKN 1 Grati play a crucial role in supporting student development and need to be continuously improved to optimally meet student needs.

Abstract

Adolescence is a crucial developmental stage characterized by physical, psychological, and socio-economic changes. Islamic religious education plays a strategic role in shaping adolescent character and morals while preventing juvenile delinquency. The family, as the first and foremost educational institution, holds central responsibility for internalizing moral and religious values. However, this process often falls short due to mismatches between educational methods and the psychological characteristics of adolescents, who tend to be critical of authority. Contributing factors to juvenile delinquency within the family include lack of attention, affection, supervision, role modeling, as well as conflict and disharmony. This study employs a library research approach, analyzing various scientific literatures. The findings indicate that optimizing the function of Islamic education through the Islamic Parenting program—encompassing  democratic parenting, role modeling, and advice-based approaches—is effective in cultivating noble character, independence, responsibility, and adolescent awareness of truth values. These three parenting styles must be applied consistently to enable families to create a harmonious, safe, and supportive environment for the positive character development of adolescents.

Abstract

Rapid technological advancement has transformed social media from a mere communication tool into an integral part of everyday life. However, this transformation has not been accompanied by users’ moral maturity and ethical readiness, resulting in the widespread occurrence of hate speech, cyberbullying, hoaxes, disinformation, and other forms of unethical online behavior. Although formal regulations, such as Indonesia’s Electronic Information and Transactions Law (ITE Law), provide legal sanctions for digital misconduct, they have proven insufficient to cultivate users’ internal moral responsibility because they lack a strong spiritual foundation. This study aims to formulate a spiritually grounded yet practically applicable framework for social media ethics based on Ismail Raji Al-Faruqi’s axiology of tawhid. Employing a qualitative library research approach, this study analyzes Al-Faruqi’s concept of tawhid through content analysis and contextualizes it within contemporary challenges of digital ethics. The findings reveal five ethical principles for responsible social media engagement: (1) spiritual responsibility derived from the Unity of God; (2) the utilization of social media for the common good derived from the Unity of Creation; (3) the application of tabayyun (verification) to maintain information integrity derived from the Unity of Truth and Knowledge; (4) the alignment of moral consistency between real and virtual life derived from the Unity of Life; and (5) respect for human dignity and equality derived from the Unity of Humanity. These findings demonstrate that AlFaruqi’s axiology of tawhid provides a comprehensive ethical foundation that integrates spiritual values with responsible digital citizenship, thereby offering an alternative framework for addressing contemporary moral challenges in social media.

Abstract

Student character should be strengthened by instilling values that emphasize moral and spiritual dimensions in addition to academics, in line with the demands of the times and changes in society in education. One strategy to create a learning environment that can shape students' character comprehensively is by integrating Islamic teachings into school culture. The aim of this study is to see how Islamic principles are applied in school culture, how they are implemented in the classroom, and how they affect students' character development. This study analyzes various literature, including scientific papers related to the research problem, using a library research method. The findings show that regular religious activities, role modeling by teachers, the implementation of Islamic principles in education, and creating a school environment that supports character development are ways Islamic values are integrated into school culture. Student character traits such as being religious, disciplined, responsible, tolerant, and socially caring are partly shaped through this integration. Thus, an Islamic-based school culture can be used as a teaching strategy in an ongoing process to develop students' moral character.
