Abstract

The Houthis' attempt at seizing control of Yemeni territory initially seemed like a protest against the presence of power. However, the Houthi rebellion grew louder and bolder until it crossed the boundaries of social norms. The Houthi group's efforts experienced increasing strong power dynamics, leading to a rising severe conflict. In line with the background, the researchers formulated three problem formulations: (1) How did the Houthis begin their efforts to seize control of Yemen's territory? (2) What are the factors that make the strategy of the Houthis a distortion of social norms in the conflict? (3) How do the dynamics of the Houthi power over Yemen play out in the distortion of social norms? This research is based on the argument that the Houthis are trying to distort social norms in Yemen. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The technique used in data collection is reading and taking notes. The data analysis techniques in this study are data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. This research indicates that the conflict between the Houthis and Yemen is an organized conflict of interest.

Abstract

This research is trying to analyze the translation of passive clause arrangement patterns and its results accuracy in Maulidul-Barzanjiy text. The objectives of this research are: (1) to describe translation product of passive clauses in Maulidul-Barzanjiy text, (2) to measure translation product accuracy inMaulidul-Barzanjiy text based on meaning equivalence. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative one. The data sources are Maulidul-Barzanjiy text by Sidqi and Anwar (2013) and five respondents. In the first problem, the data were collected by non-interactive method: selecting passive clauses from target text which have translation equivalences with source text. Meanwhile, in the second problem, the data were collected by interactive method using questionare and interview to five respondents. There are five patterns of clauses arrangement patterns found, they are: fuʻila-yufʻalu mafʻūl al-fiʻlul-maʻlūm+dhamīr  ismul-mashdar+ dhamīr wal-makān wal-chāl+dhamīr shīghatul- and ismu‘z-zamān.Comparative descriptive analysis is used for analyzing the data analysis in the first problem, while the second one is analyzed by using interactive model, including data reduction, data display, and verification. The result of this study can be concluded as follows: first, passive clause in Maulidul-Barzanjiy text has five patterns of arrangement. The comparison of all patterns is 27% derived from fiʻl majhūl whereas 73% derived from fiʻl maʻlūm, shīghah mafʻūl, ism mashdar, ism zamān, ism makān, and chāl. Second, the translation of Maulidul-Barzanjiy text is accurate. Its accuracy score is 2,6 from decimal completing of 2,560256. The score appeared because of source text was translated to target text without meaning distortion, namely addition and deletion in translating text which can change meanings. Addition and deletion in translating text are merely aimed to help readers comprehend the translation product.

Abstract

The rapid economic development of Saudi Arabia reflects the country's commitment to achieving its Vision 2030 objectives. Vision 2030 encompasses transformative policies aimed at diversifying the economy and modernizing society. However, its implementation has been accompanied by significant political and social challenges, including resistance within the Kingdom. This study examines public perceptions of Vision 2030, focusing on the New Murabba Project as a case study. Using content analysis of social media platforms, this research identifies two distinct community groups with differing responses. The first group, consisting of young professionals and progressive citizens, supports the project as a necessary reform for economic diversification. In contrast, the second group, dominated by older and conservative religious communities, expresses concerns about potential cultural and religious implications. This study finds the duality of public opinion and underscores the importance of balancing modernity with traditional values to ensure the inclusivity of national policies.

Abstract

The Middle East is side by side with western countries competing in optimal utilization in processing the resources provided by the earth. Clean water is an absolute source of life that humans need. In addition, the technology and wealth of a country are the benchmarks for supporting the achievement of a country's goals. The use of manipulated nature to meet the needs of clean water is the idea of one of the developed countries in the Middle East, namely the United Arab Emirates. The United Arab Emirates, which is rich in natural wealth and abundant wealth, accompanied by advances in mindset and technology that is never separated from commemorating its culture, makes them think more deeply than other countries with their wealth of clean water. The sowing of salt in the atmosphere along with desalination/filtration of seawater into ready-to-consume water is an action taken by the Emirate to meet the needs of its people. Changes in natural ecosystems that were originally arid to become barren and green are almost impossible actions but have been successfully carried out and implemented by developed countries in the Middle East. Then the question arises about whether changing the shape and manipulating nature that should be as usual in this ecosystem will have an impact or benefit the general public.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the values of Sufism, particularly the concepts of maḥabbah (divine love) and fanā’ (annihilation of the self), as reflected in the short story “Arinī Allāh” by Taufīq al-Ḥakīm, using the narrative semiotic approach based on A. J. Greimas’s theory. The research seeks to uncover the representation of Sufi values within the narrative structure and their influence on the development of the main character. A qualitative descriptive method was employed, with data collected through a close reading of the story and note-taking based on the theoretical framework. The data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, which involves data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the story contains clear elements of the protagonist’s spiritual journey in search of the essence of God, which cannot be perceived physically but may be experienced through divine love. These results contribute to the enrichment of literary and Sufi studies by demonstrating how Sufi values are embedded within modern literary works through narrative semiotic analysis.

Abstract

Al-Farabi considered as a philosopher basic foundation of Islamic philosophy. He is also known as the second teacher (al-mu'allim al-Thani) because of his dominantability in logic and reliable commentator of Aristotle‟s thought (a great commentator ofthe first teacher). Al-Farabi managed appropriately in explaining the logic of Aristotle to the Arabic-speaking nations without changing the meaning of philosophy because heconsiders logic as a universal grammar that its validity was spread throughout the humanrace. In field of metaphysics, Al-Farabi able to explain neo-Platonism systematically byfocusing on the discussion of sense, God and cosmology. Through these thoughts, alFarabiwants to strengthen the core of the teachings of Islam that is monotheism, so there is a unity between religion and philosophy.
