Abstract

This research is motivated by the problem of the number of tourists in Wonosobo Regency after the Covid-19 pandemic which has not reached the target. If based on data from Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS) Kab. Wonosobo, the percentage growth in the number of tourists from the last 3 years (2021-2023) has only reached 25%. To increase the percentage of the number of tourists, the Wonosobo Regency Tourism and Culture Office is aggressively promoting Wonosobo tourism through Instagram, but the results are still not optimal. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the intensity of accessing information and the quality of tourism information on the Instagram account @disparbudwonsobo on tourist interest in visiting Wonosobo Regency. This research is a quantitative study with explanatory methods and non-probability sampling techniques specifically using purposive sampling methods. Data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires to 100 respondents with the characteristics of active Instagram users aged 18-34 years, have accessed tourism information, and have never traveled to Wonosobo Regency. To analyze the data that has been collected through surveys, SPSS 25 is used. The results of this study show that the intensity of accessing information and the quality of information affect tourist interest. This finding is in line with the basic concepts of Media Dependency Theory, Computer Mediated Communication (CMC) and Information Integration Theory.

Abstract

Social media continues to grow rapidly and is closely related to the lives of people today. The various benefits obtained from the use of social media are certainly inseparable from its negative impact, which is related to the aspect of freedom. This research examines the phenomenon of individuals who behave violently and verbally aggressive on social media, focusing on the phenomenon that occurs in the Komunitas ‘Marah-Marah’ on Twitter. Komunitas ‘Marah-Marah’ is a community formed on Twitter by @musyihab on August 2022 that has received attention by users, indicated by the number of members reaching hundreds of thousands since it first appeared in 2022. This research aims to find out and explore a number of conditions that make individuals able to behave violently and verbally aggressive in the 'Marah-Marah' Community on Twitter, using a case study approach. Through interviews with six selected informants and pattern matching analysis method, the research has revealed a number of conditions that encourage individuals to behave verbally abusive, by exploring the concept of Online Disinhibition Effects by John Suler (2004). The results confirmed 5 elements of online disinhibition in forming disinhibition effects on individuals, which include: (1) Dissociative Anonymity; (2) Invisibility; (3) Asynchronicity; (4) Dissociative Imagination; and (5) Minimization of Authority, in the context of this study. In addition, it can be concluded that verbally abusive behavior shown through uploading tweets containing harsh words to vulgarity in the community, focuses more on expressing individual personal anger. This indicates that verbally abusive behavior that occurs on social media does not always target other people, but rather as a form of emotional release that cannot be expressed in real life.

Abstract

The documentary film "Surga Keci di Bondowoso" aims to advocate gender equality by depicting the involvement of a husband in household affairs and the wife's role as the breadwinner. However, forms of role discrimination against women are still prevalent. Therefore, the primary objective of this research is to analyze and describe the forms of discrimination against women's roles and examine the dominant ideology within the text. The research method employed is descriptive qualitative using Roland Barthes' semiotic analysis model (5 codes). The main theories utilized are the standpoint theory, supported by liberal feminist theory. To identify forms of discrimination against women's roles in 5 selected scenes, indicators of gender discrimination by Fakih are applied, including marginalization, subordination, stereotypes, violence, and double duties. Data collection techniques involve documentation and literature review through relevant books and journals. The research findings reveal the persistence of the dominant patriarchal ideology, which discriminates against women's roles both in public and domestic spheres, manifested through marginalization, subordination, and stereotypes, ultimately portraying wives as domestic actors and housekeepers. Discrimination in women's roles is mostly carried out by individuals, with the majority of gender being women. The discovery suggests that as a gender equality-based documentary, there should be no forms of discrimination against women's roles, particularly depicting career wives as powerless within the household. Critically, the research findings indicate that it is inappropriate for the content of the film to be used as a reflection of gender equality, as masculine glorification is still evident in this documentary. Overall, the research underscores the need for more accurate and unbiased representations of gender roles in documentary films, fostering genuine gender equality and eliminating patriarchal biases.

Abstract

In line with the rapid growth of the Online Food Delivery (OFD) industry, ShopeeFood entered the Indonesian market as a new competitor in 2021. Since its inception, ShopeeFood has offered a diverse range of sales promotions. Additionally, the platform successfully built a favorable brand image, evident in the increased ShopeeFood brand index in 2022. However, in 2022, ShopeeFood experienced a decline in sales figures. The theory employed to elucidate the impact of sales promotion exposure on purchasing decisions is Operant Conditioning, while the Consumer-Based Brand Equity Theory is used to explain the influence of brand image on purchasing decisions. This research involved respondents aged 17-40 in Jabodetabek exposed to ShopeeFood promotions. Regression analysis results indicate that sales promotion exposure has a significance value of 0.001 with a positive coefficient of 0.030, and brand image significance is 0.002 with a positive coefficient of 0.048. The conclusion emphasizes the importance for ShopeeFood to leverage sales promotion strategies and maintain brand image to enhance sales.

Abstract

The increasing awareness of environmental problems has recently become a concern that has caused many people to take action to use environmentally friendly components. These actions include how companies use green marketing to promote green products. Therefore, the term greenwashing has become more common, raising questions and causing skepticism among consumers. This research aims to examine how skeptical behavior emerges as a response to green marketing that sells in the case of #SejauhManaKamuPeduli by Sejauh Mata Memandang. This research uses the theory of Green Marketing by Hennion & Kinnear, Greenwashing by Jay Westerveld, and Skepticism by Hurtt using qualitative methods and case study Pattern Matching analysis methods, as well as collecting data through interviews with three Gen Z informants. This research shows that skeptical behavior by Gen Z towards green marketing that sells green products begins when someone is exposed to green marketing actions and they’re seeking information about the green product. When information about the green products they are looking for does not meet their expectations, skeptical behavior will emerges.

Abstract

Aduan mengenai kasus kekerasan seksual tercatat masih sangat tinggi sepanjang tahun 2022 dengan mayoritas korbannya adalah perempuan. Para penegak hukum selalu memilih cara penyelesaian kasus secara “damai” dengan tidak memihak pada korban atau terjadi ketidakadilan. Film merupakan wacana yang merepresentasikan realitas sosial. Dengan berlandaskan realitas sosial yang ada, film Penyalin Cahaya diproduksi untuk menunjukkan pembungkaman yang terjadi terhadap para korban kekerasan seksual. Tujuan dilakukannya penelitian adalah untuk mendeskripsikan wacana pembungkaman terhadap perempuan sebagai korban kekerasan seksual yang dimuat dalam film Penyalin Cahaya. Teori Kelompok Bungkam oleh Cheris Kramarae digunakan sebagai teori utama dan didukung oleh aliran feminisme radikal-libertarian. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode analisis wacana kritis milik Sara Mills yang dibagi dalam empat struktur, yaitu karakter, fragmentasi, fokalisasi, dan skemata. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa karakter perempuan dalam film Penyalin Cahaya merepresentasikan perempuan sebagai korban kekerasan seksual. Walaupun mereka memiliki peran yang penting, para karakter perempuan ditunjukkan tetap dibungkam oleh karakter laki-laki. Fragmentasi berfokus pada mimik wajah dari para karakter sehingga menunjukkan rasa marah dan frustrasi dari para korban. Fokalisasi pada film menunjukkan karakter perempuan yang menjadi korban kekerasan seksual sebagai subjek yang aktif. Subjektivitas dari para korban kekerasan seksual juga berorientasi feminin ketika menceritakan pengalaman mereka. Analisis skemata mengungkap ideologi victim blaming bahwa para perempuan yang menjadi korban kekerasan seksual masih sangat sulit untuk mengungkapkan kebenaran dan menemukan keadilan.

Abstract

This research is based on the existence of many corruption cases in Indonesia, especially in government circles. This research specifically aims to find out how the framing analysis is based on social construction regarding the lobster seed corruption case carried out by Edhy Prabowo. This research was conducted qualitatively using the framing method. The data used in this research is observational analysis of 4 news media. This research analysis uses social construction theory from Burgan Bungin. The results of this research are that the main component of delivering or disseminating messages is mass media. Viewers who read or see it can gain knowledge from the material presented. Thus, different media cannot create and understand reality in different ways. On tempo.co, this news emphasizes that Edhy has received the money and must be given sanctions for this mistake. So this news highlights the punishment for Edhy as a suspect in a corruption case. In the media, people's minds show that the news focuses on the allegations made against Edhy Prabowo regarding the corruption of lobster seeds due to the KPK's arrest activities so that Edhy Prabowo is ready to be sentenced to death as a result of these allegations. CNBC focuses on the involvement of Edhy Prabowo in the lobster seed case with large numbers so that the numbers are the focus of this news. Detik.com focuses on who is involved in this news. That means, okay The content and media technology devices themselves provide a kind of set of beliefs for the audience including effects and impacts.

Abstract

Film merupakan salah satu media yang sering digunakan tidak hanya sebagai hiburan namun juga sebagai salah satu media untuk memberikan pemaknaan atau pesan. Drama Korea Extraordinary Attorney Woo merupakan salah satu drama yang mengangkat cerita mengenai karakter autisme sebagai karakter utama. Penelitian ini mengkaji bagaimana sebuah film memperlihatkan karakter Woo Young Woo sebagai seorang pengacara. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan paradigma interpretif dan menggunakan teori semiotika milik Roland Barthes yang terdiri dari denotasi, konotasi, dan mitos. Penelitian ini menggunakan beberapa adegan untuk memperlihatkan bagaimana film tersebut menggambarkan profesionalitas karakter autisme dalam drama ini. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa drama ini mencoba untuk mereduksi penggambaran karakter autisme agar lebih mudah diterima oleh masyarakat. Secara keseluruhan, drama ini cukup memberikan penggambaran yang baik pada level hiburan saja. Hal ini ditunjukkan dari bagaimana struggle dan hambatan yang dijalani oleh karakter Woo Young Woo kurang dieksplorasi lebih dalam. Karakter autism dalam drama ini cukup memberikan hiburan dan pemaknaan yang cukup baik, menunjukkan bahwa seorang penyandang autisme juga mampu mengerjakan pekerjaannya secara profesional, bahkan lebih baik dari orang lain. Walaupun pada akhirnya hal ini memberikan kesan bahwa karakter autisme ditampilkan seperti karakter yang sempurna yang minim kekurangan.Penggambaran karakter autisme ini tentu dapat lebih dieksplorasi untuk memberikan penggambaran karakter yang lebih dalam. Karena pada kenyataannya, menjadi profesional lebih dari sekedar memiliki kemampuan menghafal yang luar biasa.

Abstract

Effective communication is crucial for maintaining harmonious relationships, especially in long-distance marriages. With the rise of migrant workers, many families face long-distance relationships that can impact parent-child bonds. This study examines how family communication intensity and patterns affect parent-child attachment in such families, using attachment theory and family communication patterns theory. Through a survey of 96 respondents and simple linear regression analysis, the results of hypothesis testing show that communication intensity can explain 33.4% with an effect size of 0.839 and consensual family communication patterns can explain 21.5% with an effect size of 0.546 on parent and child attachment. It can be concluded that higher communication intensity and consensual communication patterns significantly enhance parent-child attachment. The results suggest that frequent and open communication, as well as consensual communication patterns, can help strengthen parent-child relationships despite physical separation.

Abstract

Media convergence is interpreted as the combination of various information and communication technology services, along with increasing digitalization making it possible for people to access various types of media content, making media organizations produce content that can be enjoyed across media. On the other hand, internet users continue to increase and people's attention to conventional media, especially radio, has decreased, which has caused the radio industry to begin to decline. A strategy is needed for radio to still be heard, namely by carrying out media convergence. This research aims to find out how the media convergence process strategy is carried out by Radio Republik Indonesia Semarang to maintain its existence in the digital era. The theory used in this research is Media Convergence Theory, while the method used is qualitative research using a case study approach, by conducting interviews and observations in the RRI Semarang environment who are involved and related to the process of implementing media convergence. The results of this research indicate that RRI Semarang views media convergence as quite important in its position as a Public Broadcasting Institution and reference media which needs to anticipate changes in information consumption patterns in society. This is done through various owned platforms such as RRI Digital, the RRI.co.id page, the RRI NET channel, social media for each program and news, as well as the YouTube channel. Planning is carried out in the broadcast and news sector, guided by the LPP RRI Broadcast Guidelines Book and the Reporting Style Book. The technical convergence strategy refers to understanding the direction of convergence, positioning as a media verifier, following the flow of convergence, strengthening the technical and multimedia sectors, adapting content, and building interactivity. The promotional strategy refers to the use of soft-selling through promotions on personal accounts and hard-selling through on-air and off-air promotions. This has implications for analytical and quality achievements, although it still has shortcomings.
