Abstract

This study aims to examine romantic relationship issues and communication patterns in conflict resolution among couples with anxious and avoidant attachment styles. This research employed a qualitative descriptive method involving eight participants, consisting of four individuals with anxious attachment tendencies and four individuals with avoidant attachment tendencies. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and documentation and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model. The findings reveal that individuals with anxious attachment tendencies are generally more open in expressing their feelings, actively seek reassurance, and attempt to resolve conflicts immediately. In contrast, individuals with avoidant attachment tendencies tend to avoid conflict, require time to regulate their emotions, and are more reserved in expressing their feelings. In the conflict resolution process, anxious individuals are more likely to initiate communication and relationship repair efforts, while avoidant individuals tend to create distance before re-engaging in communication. The study also shows that couples with anxious and avoidant attachment styles maintain a two-way communication pattern, although the communication process is not always balanced.

Abstract

The development of artificial intelligence (AI) technology has driven transformation in the media industry, including in television news production. This study aims to analyze the adoption of AI in the newsrooms of TVRI Central Java and TVKU Semarang and to understand how this technology is used in news production and the implementation of journalistic ethics policies. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach with a constructivist paradigm. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews with six informants, including editors-in-chief, editors, and reporters from TVRI Central Java and TVKU Semarang. The analysis was conducted using the Hierarchy of Influences theory by Pamela J. Shoemaker and Stephen D. Reese. The results show that AI adoption at both stations is selective and asymmetrical. AI is utilized at the gathering stage for initial research, at the scriptwriting stage as a transcription aid, and at the visualization stage in the form of animated graphics and visual presenters. Significant differences exist in ethics policies: TVRI Central Java has a more formal governance system with mandatory AI content labeling through the Director's Regulation (Perdiri), while TVKU relies on individual initiative without a specific written policy. Overall, AI functions as augmentation that strengthens journalists' capacities, not as a replacement for humans in the news production process.

Abstract

This research is driven by the phenomenon of increasing content consumption on TikTok, particularly the prevalence of low-quality mental health content that is easily trusted by Generation Z. The high level of TikTok usage among this generation creates an ecosystem of massive information exposure with minimal curation, raising serious concerns regarding the quality of mental health knowledge shaped through the platform. This study aims to determine the influence of content exposure intensity and information quality on the level of trust in mental health content among Generation Z TikTok users. This research employs a quantitative explanatory approach using a survey method. The theoretical frameworks utilized are Cultivation Theory and Information Integration Theory to explain the mechanism of trust formation in the context of digital content consumption. Data from 100 respondents were analyzed using simple linear regression analysis. The results indicate that the intensity of content exposure has a weak influence on the level of trust in mental health information, while information quality has a moderate influence on the level of trust. These findings contribute new insights to Cultivation Theory and Information Integration Theory and suggest that TikTok users, especially Generation Z, should develop a critical attitude when consuming mental health content, such as re-verifying information with credible sources

Abstract

This study aims to understand the process of religious identity decision-making among children from interfaith families. This research employed a qualitative method with a narrative approach. The analysis was conducted using decision-making theory and interpersonal communication theory to examine how religious identity is formed and negotiated through everyday communication and interpersonal relationships. The findings show that the process of religious identity decision-making occurs gradually. The first stage begins with the identifying of identity-related problems caused by different religious experiences and uncertainty regarding religious identity. The second stage involves the exploration of religious identity through information seeking, religious experiences, and communication with family members and the surrounding social environment. The third stage is the consideration of consequences and relational risks related to the decision that will be taken. The fourth stage involves the communication and negotiation of religious identity decisions, where children begin to express their choices to certain individuals. The final stage is the establishment of religious identity, in which children either change, reaffirm, or consciously maintain their religious identity. This study reveals that religious identity decision-making is not an instant or purely individual process. Instead, it is shaped by interpersonal relationships, communication within the family, religious experiences, and the social environment surrounding the children.

Abstract

Limited financial literacy among Indonesian university students is associated with increasing financial pressures faced by young adults. Home Sweet Loan portrays these issues through Kaluna's efforts to own a house while facing her family's financial demands. This study examines how university students interpret representations of financial literacy and family roles in the film. A qualitative approach was employed using Stuart Hall's reception analysis, supported by Berger and Luckmann's Social Construction of Reality, Gerbner's Cultivation Theory, and Fishbein and Ajzen's Theory of Reasoned Action. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with five university students selected through purposive sampling. The findings indicate that three participants occupied the dominant-hegemonic position, while two adopted a negotiated position. Financial literacy was interpreted as the ability to plan finances, prioritize needs, achieve financial independence, and maintain financial transparency within the family. Interpretations of family roles varied according to each participant's background. Home Sweet Loan was understood as a medium that encourages reflection on financial management and family relationships.

Abstract

Protest music is a form of popular culture that not only provides entertainment but also serves as a tool for political communication. It can influence how people understand and evaluate the social and political situations around them. Sukatani, an Indonesian post-punk band, is known for its lyrics that criticize social injustice, the misuse of power, and government policies. On the other hand, political orientation, as a psychological influence, also shapes how individuals perceive and evaluate political issues. This study aims to understand how the influence of resistance music by the band Sukatani, as well as political affiliation, affects the political attitudes of Generation Z. The study is grounded in Social Cognitive Theory and the Funnel of Causality Theory. The study employed a quantitative method using simple linear regression analysis to examine the effect of the independent variable exposure to Sukatani Band's protest music on the dependent variable of political attitudes, as well as the effect of the independent variable of political affiliation on the dependent variable of political attitudes. The findings of this study indicate that the influence of the coverage to Sukatani Band's protest music and an individual's political affiliation positively and significantly influence the political attitudes of Generation Z. The influence of coverage by protest music accounts for 20.2%, while political affiliation contributes 19.1% to shaping an individual's political attitudes. These findings also objectively demonstrate that the greater the exposure to Sukatani Band's protest music and the stronger an individual's political affiliation with the opposition, the more critical Generation Z's political attitudes toward government policies become.

Abstract

The increasing adoption of healthy lifestyles and rising public concern for environmental sustainability have encouraged many companies to apply green marketing strategies. Nevertheless, not all companies are able to maintain environmental commitments consistently, which has led some of them to be accused of greenwashing. This study examines consumers’ interpretations of Le Minerale’s rebranding strategy in response to greenwashing allegations following the launch of its single-use gallon product. Using a descriptive qualitative approach and Stuart Hall’s reception analysis, data were collected through in-depth interviews with six active consumers. The analysis focuses on six dimensions of rebranding: product associations, environmental engagement, healthy lifestyle associations, public figure endorsements, communication of health and purity values, and social media activities. The findings show that consumer reception is influenced by socio-cultural, individual, and situational factors. Most informants occupied dominant-negotiated and negotiated-oppositional positions. The study concludes that Le Minerale’s rebranding has not fully restored consumer trust in its environmental commitment, indicating the need for greater consistency, transparency, and real sustainability practices.
