Abstract

Teachers play a vital role in the learning process; however, many still face challenges in managing instruction, which affects their pedagogical competence and professional performance. This condition indicates the need for a structured preparatory program for prospective teachers that integrates theoretical understanding with practical teaching experience. The ‘Amaliyah Al-Tadris program implemented at MA Sulamul Huda Siwalan serves as a systematic effort to prepare twelfth-grade students to become competent and professional teachers through guided teaching practice grounded in Islamic educational values. This study aims to describe the implementation of the ‘Amaliyah Al-Tadris program and to analyze its role in developing students’ pedagogical and professional competencies. The research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana interactive model. The findings reveal that the program is conducted in three stages: cognitive preparation, teaching practice, and evaluation (naqd). The program contributes positively to the development of students’ pedagogical competence, including lesson planning, the implementation of educative and dialogic learning, and the assessment of learning outcomes. Furthermore, it strengthens students’ professional competence through mastery of subject matter, the use of instructional media and learning resources, and an understanding of the foundations of Islamic education. The study concludes that the ‘Amaliyah Al-Tadris program plays a significant role in preparing prospective teachers with strong pedagogical and professional competencies within the context of Islamic education.

Abstract

This research is based on understanding faith in students. The purpose of this study is to find out how to explore students' understanding of the concept of faith in the science of kalam taught through learning Islamic religious education and to find out the supporting and inhibiting factors in exploring students' understanding of the concept of faith in the science of kalam taught through Islamic religious education learning. This study uses a qualitative type of case study research, with data collection using observation, interview, and documentation techniques. As for the results of this study, the first is a way to explore students' understanding of the concept of faith in the science of kalam taught through Islamic religious education learning at SMP Negeri 3 Sugio carried out using the learning method of lectures, discussions, demonstrations, giving stories, associated with learning materials, giving questions and assignments to students, and reading and writing tests of the Qur'an. The second is the supporting factor in exploring students' understanding of the concept of faith in the Science of kalam taught through Islamic religious education learning, namely the selection of the right learning method, the high motivation of students to learn, an environment that reflects the values of faith in the science of kalam and the morning program of recitation. The factors that are inhibiting are the low motivation of students to learn, the low concern of parents, and the environment which does not reflect the values of faith in the science of kalam.

Abstract

The moral dilemmas of the younger generation are increasingly complex, making religious character education urgently needed. Routine Quran memorization activities, which emphasize not only memorization but also the development of discipline, responsibility, honesty, and spirituality in students, are one way schools strive to instill religious values. Studying this program is crucial to understanding its implementation and impact. This article aims to discuss the implementation of routine Quran memorization activities at the UPT SMPN 2 Gresik, and how these activities improve students' religious character through memorization activities. The method used in this article is descriptive qualitative, collecting data through documentation, interviews, and observations. The results show that the implementation of routine Quran memorization activities at the UPT SMPN 2 Gresik has succeeded in becoming an effective medium in improving students' religious character. Despite obstacles, the success of this program demonstrates that with good planning, teacher guidance, parental support, and student awareness, Quran memorization can have a real impact on developing a generation that is religious, disciplined, responsible, honest, and has noble character. This research is expected to assist in the development of Islamic religious education programs in schools, particularly in enhancing religious character development through memorization activities. Furthermore, these findings can be used as a guide for educators, educational institutions, and parents to create more sustainable and effective religious education.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze teacher strategies for increasing student learning motivation in Islamic Religious Education (PAI). The focus of the study is on how teachers design, implement, and evaluate learning approaches that encourage active participation and student interest. The research method used was descriptive qualitative through observation, interviews, and documentation studies of PAI teachers and students. The results indicate that the use of a variety of learning methods, such as discussions, inspirational stories, audiovisual media, and positive reinforcement, significantly contribute to increasing learning motivation. Teachers also employ a personalized approach to understand students' needs and characteristics. The study's conclusions confirm that creative, communicative, and student-centered learning strategies can create a more engaging and effective learning environment in increasing student learning motivation in PAI.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an assessment model in Islamic education through an analysis of five authentic hadiths related to intention, morality, worship, and social behavior. The hadiths were selected based on criteria of authenticity, relevance to educational evaluation, frequency of citation in educational literature, and a rigorous screening process. Employing a qualitative library research design, the study applies content and thematic analysis to primary data from classical hadith sources and secondary data from contemporary academic literature. The findings indicate that the selected hadiths can be reconstructed into five assessment models: intention-based assessment focusing on worship-oriented motivation; moral-spiritual assessment evaluating character; performance assessment emphasizing procedural accuracy; social-emotional assessment measuring empathy and cooperation; and an integrative model of faith, Islam, and ihsan that combines cognitive, affective, psychomotor, and spiritual domains. Each model is mapped into domains, indicators, and examples of preliminary assessment instruments. This study contributes a prophetic-based assessment framework that extends contemporary Islamic education assessment models by integrating spiritual intention (niyyah) and ihsan as evaluative dimensions. The results demonstrate that hadith provides a holistic and contextually relevant foundation for developing assessment systems in Islamic education.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of the Inquiry Learning method in Fiqh instruction at MTs Al-Isro’, focusing on material that requires students to engage in analytical thinking and deepen their conceptual understanding. The primary aim is to evaluate the extent to which the inquiry approach enhances student participation, strengthens critical thinking skills, and fosters a learning environment that is more exploratory and student-centered. Employing a qualitative case study design, the research draws on classroom observations, interviews with the Fiqh teacher, and an analysis of relevant instructional documents. The findings reveal that the structured stages of inquiry from identifying problems and gathering information to testing understanding and drawing conclusions effectively encourage students to formulate questions, assess arguments more carefully, and relate lesson content to real-life contexts. The success of this approach is supported by the teacher’s readiness to present relevant Fiqh cases and by the use of group discussions to reinforce understanding. Nevertheless, challenges such as limited instructional time and varying levels of students’ initial abilities remain, highlighting the need for more targeted scaffolding strategies. Overall, the study demonstrates that Inquiry Learning holds substantial potential for improving the quality of Fiqh education by promoting active engagement, deeper reasoning, and more meaningful learning experiences for students.

Abstract

Indonesia is known as a country rich in religious diversity, with Islam as the majority religion practiced by the majority of the population. This diversity includes not only religion, but also ethnicity, culture, and local traditions that live side by side in one nation. The research used is a quantitative research type with the aim of this research is to determine whether there is an influence and the magnitude of the influence of the role of understanding religious moderation and the activeness of the taklim assembly on the internalization of religious values ​​in Patihan Kidul Village, Siman District, Ponorogo Regency. This research is a study that has a total population of 30 respondents with a quantitative approach to the survey model. The main instrument for data collection is using a questionnaire. Data that meets and passes the validity and reliability test, the classical assumption test, are then analyzed using the F test in multiple linear regression using the IBM SPSS Statistics 23 program which produces the following equation: Ŷ = 3.360 + 0.382 + 0.393. The results show that F count 19.269 > F table 3.30 df = 2; df2 = 31 at a 5% significance level, indicating that religious moderation and the Islamic study group simultaneously influence internalization. An R Square of 0.554 indicates that the religious moderation and Islamic study group variables contribute 55.4% to the internalization variable. The remainder is influenced by other variables not included in the study. The R Square value of 55.4% can be classified as having a moderate influence on the dependent variable based on Chin's theory.

Abstract

The formation of moral character is a fundamental aspect of Islamic education, which emphasizes the balance between intellectual development and moral development. This research focuses on sustainable and innovative efforts implemented in the Islamic education system at Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor Putri Campus 2 to form the moral character of prospective students for the 2025–2026 academic year. This study uses a qualitative approach with a field study design. Participants include prospective students, teachers, and staf. Data is collected by observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed through data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawn. The findings of the study show that continuous innovation in Islamic education at Gontor Putri Campus 2 is reflected in the integration of intramural, extracurricular, and daily habituation activities rooted in the local wisdom of Islamic boarding schools. Discipline, internalization of values, and exemplary behavior shown by Senior Teachers, Ustadzah and Mudabbirah are key factors in shaping the morals of karimah among prospective students. The study highlights that sustainable, locally-based innovation in Islamic education plays an important role in preparing the youngest generation who are moral, adaptive, and competitive to face the challenges of the times.

Abstract

This study highlights the need to reconstruct the paradigm of Islamic education to address social diversity and the growing crisis of religious belief in the modern world. Islamic education is still dominated by a normative paradigm that focuses on textual teaching, thereby reducing its responsiveness to social dynamics and changes in the expression of Islam. The purpose of this study is to analyze this paradigm and provide a conceptual framework for Islamic education that is more relevant to a pluralistic society. This study uses a qualitative approach with a literature review method. Scientific sources include journal articles and scientific papers discussing Islamic education, social pluralism, and religious beliefs. Data analysis was conducted using content analysis to identify patterns of thought, paradigm shifts, and the relationship between Islamic education and contemporary social realities. The results of this study indicate that the normative paradigm of Islamic education tends to support the role of religious education as a means of establishing social and ethical norms. Social pluralism and the crisis of Islamic faith are difficult to understand as threats, but rather as realities that influence the direction, purpose, and function of Islamic education. This study highlights the importance of an inclusive, contextual, and reflective paradigm in Islamic education, using education as a forum for discussion between Islamic teachings and social realities. With this paradigm shift, it is hoped that Islamic education can strengthen its ability to develop moderate, adaptive, and relevant religious practices in a pluralistic society.

Abstract

This study examines the concept of childhood in the Qur’an through a tafsir and Arabic linguistic analysis of four key terminologies: walad, ṭifl, ṣibyān, and ghulām. Rather than employing a single, generic notion of “child,” the Qur’an uses these terms to represent distinct stages of development, relational contexts, and moral capacities. Using a qualitative literature-based method, this study analyzes selected Qur’anic verses and classical as well as contemporary Qur’anic interpretations to explore the semantic nuances and contextual usage of each term. The findings reveal that walad emphasizes familial relations and parental moral responsibility, ṭifl denotes early biological dependence and limited social awareness, ṣibyān reflects the emergence of moral and spiritual potential in early childhood, and ghulām represents a transitional phase toward independence and responsibility. Collectively, these terminologies form a developmental continuum that underscores the Qur’an’s dynamic and layered conception of childhood. The study further argues that this terminological differentiation provides an important conceptual foundation for contemporary Islamic education, calling for a gradual, contextual, and developmentally sensitive educational approach. By integrating Qur’anic semantics with educational reflection, this study contributes to a deeper understanding of child-centered education within an Islamic framework.
