Abstract

The increased risk of flooding due to climate change is cause concern because it causes economic losses in various regions of the world. Flood control planning is needed so that floods that occur do not have a negative impact on life, especially in the economy. One way of flood control is to use weirs. Weirs are able to withstand the flow of water upstream of rivers or large waterways, limiting the flow of water entering downstream. By regulating the flow of water, the weir can reduce the possibility of flooding downstream. Part of the weir building is the threshold which has several commonly used shapes and each shape has its own advantages The purpose of this practicum is to determine the discharge of water flowing with thresholds, namely triangular thresholds and sharp thresholds with variations in door openings. The method used is to conduct testing in the Civil Engineering Laboratory using a replica of a river (open channel) along 10 meters. When testing the flow velocity is also calculated. The result of the test is obtained discharge data that flows with thresholds. The smallest flow discharge is obtained at the triangular threshold with a downstream opening of 1 cm. The effect of discharge on flood management is that if a river flow has a large discharge capacity, you can use the results of this calculation as a reference to overcome the problem.

Abstract

Shipping activities are divided into two types, namely commercial shipping and non-commercial shipping. One of the factors supporting naval facilities is needed infrastructure, namely ports. Port is one of the stops or terminals of ships after sailing and various kinds of activities such as the ups and downs of passenger departures, loading and unloading goods, refueling or ship rests at the port, and so on. To support its own business activities, the construction of a Special Terminal can be built which includes a regional review of population, employment, regional income, transportation, geographical location of Batam City, climate, government, regional infrastructure, and natural resource potential carried out and coordinated with the government on the analysis of feasibility studies for the construction and operation of special terminals that require a special operating permit specifically good and feasible on land or in sea or waters with K3 (Occupational Health and Safety). The feasibility study of Tersus includes, among others, the plan for the volume of loading and unloading raw materials, supporting equipment, and the frequency of ship visits, safety and security aspects of shipping at special terminals and survey results regarding tides, currents, bathimetric depth, with detailed situations at the location of special terminal construction points and environmental aspects of water quality management efforts, population decline and biota diversity, air and noise quality, shipping safety, as well as employment opportunities and efforts to obtain special terminal operating permits require increasing the level of special terminal services at PT. Abstract

The Riau Archipelago is a non-volcanic area surrounded by the sea and directly adjacent to the North Natuna Sea. Thus the supply of quality materials for concrete-based construction is not so good. As well as the development of Batam City which leads to high-rise buildings also shows a rapid increase in static development in Batam City. The main problem that occurs in the concrete industry in Batam City is the supply of materials that can be used for high performance, in other words the materials used in the Batam area have insufficient capacity to be developed further. So on this occasion the author has the idea to develop local materials with the addition of admixture to increase compressive strength, slump retention, to the economic value of concrete. Good concrete is concrete that has criteria such as ease of work, a stable compressive strength value, and is able to reduce the carbon content removed during concrete processing. Because modern concrete must reduce air and liquid solid waste generated from its processing. In addition to these factors, good concrete must also consider the economic value and the effects of the surrounding environment.

Abstract

Highways are one of the land transportation accesses to support human movement in driving and sending goods from one region to another. The geometric of the road is the building of the highway above the ground level both vertically and horizontally with the assumption that the ground surface is not flat. Horizontal alignment is often referred to as road situation or road alignment. The most critical part of the horizontal alignment is in corners, where centrifugal force pushes the vehicle out of the bend area. Superelevation is a slope A transverse slope at a bend that serves to offset the centrifugal force received by the vehicle when traveling through the bend at. The quantitative method can also be interpreted as a research method that looks at reality, symptoms, and phenomena that can be classified, are relatively fixed, concrete, observable, and measurable, and the relationship of symptoms is causal. Road evaluation in this study uses a design speed of 60 km/hour, with a road width of 3.5 m. Road evaluation was carried out using AutCAD® Civil 3D based on the contour data obtained. Based on the calculation results above, the Majalengka-Cikijing road is a hill road type. Then for the horizontal alignment with a speed of 60 km/hour, the results obtained from 11 horizontal alignments all belong to the Spiral-Cirle-Spiral alignment type.

Abstract

Autonomous driving is currently one of the major trends in the automotive industry. As the technical implementation of highly automated driving or his SAE level of automation draws closer and closer, attention is now shifting from mere feasibility to the question of how acceptable driving styles, and therefore comfort, can be implemented. [1] A global issue that requires urgent and careful consideration is that of travel safety. Roads are infrastructure that have a major impact on people's daily lives and represent important connections between regions. In addition to displaying a route to guide the driver, it also has the ability to remove obstacles. Therefore, healthy road conditions play an important role in promoting various aspects of communication, making visual observation more comfortable, and increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of activities. Because good road conditions make any activity on the road easier, drivers feel more comfortable, and their activities are more effective and efficient. His two biggest problems facing developed countries in Asia are the lack of proper lighting and the increase in potholes. This frightening scenario has far-reaching implications, especially for driver safety and health. Additionally, this negatively affects driver reaction, making potholes difficult to detect and increasing the likelihood of a collision. This can lead to physical and internal destruction of the road and also endanger the safety of road users. In recent years, road construction has increased significantly, requiring roads to be in good condition. When pavements are stressed by heavy traffic or climate change, their behavior and condition change. Cracking is the most common problem occurring in the pavement sector in Malaysia [2]. To understand and address this problem, it is essential to study how drivers react to potholes and poor street lighting in Asia. The Indonesian government also faces serious difficulties in this regard. Poor infrastructure has a negative impact on the economy. In the context of a developing country like Indonesia, the government could minimize the severity of road accidents by providing street lighting and road repairs. surface. Using traffic accident data from the Republic of Indonesia Police Traffic Control Center and a negative binomial regression method, street lighting and road surface improvements are associated with a 4.2% and 3.4% reduction in traffic fatalities and injuries, respectively. I understand that. 3]. However, minimal lighting makes it difficult for drivers to react to changing road conditions. To overcome the problems of potholes and insufficient lighting on Majalenka roads, this study aims to generate concrete recommendations that will guide the development of future road infrastructure and lighting technologies. Street lighting and road surface improvements also have an impact on reducing traffic fatalities. Street lighting is very important for motorists, especially to prevent accidents, reduce crime rates, and provide illumination that resembles everyday objects. In addition, street lights also serve as navigation aids for drivers at night. Street lights reduce the number of accidents. After studying 62 street lighting and accident data from 15 countries, we can conclude that street lighting reduces accidents by an average of 30%. Includes all roads, highways, intersections, and junctions [4]. Beber Jatiwangi is a village in Ligun, Majalengka region. Located in Majalengka, in the middle of the Ligun factory area, this issue is widely discussed in the local community as it affects industrial activities. As a result, impacts include damage to logistics vehicles and an increased risk of accidents.

Abstract

This research aims to comprehensively analyze the current condition and performance of Rancapurut Road in Sumedang, Indonesia. The analysis is conducted to identify areas requiring repair and evaluate the effectiveness of current maintenance and rehabilitation methods. It is crucial to ensure that the region's road infrastructure meets expected safety and comfort standards and to provide recommendations for future improvements. The research employs an exploratory quantitative approach, collecting empirical data directly from the field. The research population includes segments of Rancapurut Road in Sumedang, with samples selected randomly or based on critical areas representing the whole. Primary data collection utilizes core drill techniques, extracting core samples of concrete or asphalt for thickness, composition, and pavement layer condition analysis. Secondary data, such as road maintenance records, is also gathered. The results of the research indicate that the overall condition of the Rancaputu Road pavement is good. The average thickness of the pavement at location 1 is 4.7 cm, location 2 is 4.3 cm, and location 3 is 4.55 cm. However, some points of measurement show lower thicknesses, such as the second measurement point at location 1 (3.25 cm) and the fourth measurement point at location 3 (3.08 cm). The reduction in pavement thickness can be caused by various factors, such as heavy traffic loads, inadequate subgrade conditions, or poor pavement material quality. The research findings are expected to be useful for road managers and engineers in Sumedang and other regions with similar conditions. The findings can be used to improve the planning and implementation of pavement maintenance and rehabilitation programs.
