Abstract

ABSTRAK : Acanthophora muscoides merupakan salah satu rumput laut merah yang berpotensi sebagai senyawa bioaktif yang dapat digunakan sebagai antioksidan alami. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas antioksidan ekstrak metanol dan n-heksan, kadar total fenolat serta kadar pigmen (klorofil a & karotenoid) dari sampel segar A. muscoides. Penentuan aktivitas antioksidan dilakukan menggunakan metode transfer elektron dengan DPPH (1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhidrazyl) sebagai radikal bebas. Penentuan kadar total fenolat menggunakan reagen Folin-Ciocalteu dengan asam galat sebagai standar dan penentuan kandungan pigmen menggunakan prinsip spektofotometri pada λ 663 nm, 646 nm dan 470 nm. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan A. muscoides memiliki aktivitas antioksidan sangat lemah dengan nilai IC50 ekstrak metanol 325,47 ppm dan ekstrak n-heksan 351,27 ppm, sedangkan kadar total fenolat pada masing-masing ekstrak 22,68 dan 46,19 (mg GAE/g ekstrak), kadar klorofil a 7,72 dan 24,93 (mg/g sampel), dan kadar karotenoid 28,52 dan 68,55 (µ mol/g sampel).   ABSTRACT : Acanthophora muscoides is one of the red seaweed that is potentially used as a natural antioxidant. This study aims to determine the antioxidant activity of methanol and n-hexane extract, and determine the total phenolic content and levels of pigments (chlorophyll and carotenoid) of fresh samples A. muscoides. Antioxidant activity measured using electron transfer method with DPPH (1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhidrazyl) as free radicals, while the determination of total phenolic content using the Folin-Ciocalteu reagent with gallic acid as standard and determination of pigment content measured by spectrophotometer at  a wavelength of 663 nm, 646 nm and 470 nm. The result showed IC50 value of methanol extract was 325.47 ppm and n-hexane extract was 351.27 ppm which means that A. muscoides have very weak antioxidant activity. Total phenolic content in each extract were 22.68 and 46.19 (mg GAE/g extract), chlorophyll a 7.72 and 24.93 (mg/g sample) and carotenoid 28.52 and 68.55 (μ mol/g sample).

Abstract

It is known that the bacterial symbionts are symbiotic with gastropods Conus miles has the potential to be able to produce antibacterial compounds against bacterial MDR (Multi Drug Resistant). Information found previously from bacterial symbionts and isolation based on screening results, the size of the zone of inhibition and inhibitory properties against several types of bacteria tests showed that isolates derived from Conus miles Gastropoda symbionts characterized by kinship rate of 98% in bacteria Pseudoalteromonas sp. The research objective was to determine the characteristics of the bacterial symbiont bioactive compounds associated with the type of mollusk Conus miles. The study was conducted three phases namely the isolation and purification of bacteria; characterization of isolates identified through test results on the reaction of physiological and biochemical tests, as well as the identification of secondary metabolites by GC-MS method QP2010S Shimadzu. The results showed that the bacterial symbiont isolates had a number of compounds with a percentage of the highest peak to the lowest compound the compound, Acetic acid (CAS) ethylic acid (35.22%); propanoic acid, 2-methyl-(CAS) Isobutyric acid (11.78%); Iso -valeric acid (9:38%), butanoic acid, 2-methyl-(CAS) 2-methylbutanoic acid (4.74%) and 1,2-Benzenedicarboxylic acid, dioctyl ester (CAS) Dioctyl phthala (4:36%). The results concluded that the bacterial symbiont isolates obtained in this study provide information on the results of potentially new antibiotics.

Abstract

ABSTRAK : Vegetasi mangrove dapat ditemukan pada berbagai tipe geomorfologi pantai yang menempati area antara daratan dan perairan serta memiliki karakteristik lingkungan yang berbeda-beda.Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui struktur dan komposisi vegetasi mangrove di Kabupaten Sampang, Pulau Madura, Provinsi Jawa Timur pada tipe geomorfologi yang berbeda. Penelitian di Kabupaten Sampang dilakukan di 5 lokasi, dan terbagi atas 2 tipe geomorfologi yaitu Sreseh, Taman dan Plasah untuk tipe geomorfologi tepi sungai (Lokasi I) serta Polagan dan Banyuanyar untuk tipe geomorfologi sempadan pantai (Lokasi II). Pengambilan data vegetasi dilakukan dengan metode purposive sampling dan setiap transek dibuat plot sampling. Setiap individu pohon (plot 10 m x 10 m) dan sapling (subplot 5 m x 5 m) diidentifikasi dan diukur diameternya setinggi dada (±1,3 m). Sementara seedling dihitung jumlah masing-masing jenis dan persentase penutupannya (subplot 1 m x 1 m). Hasil penelitian di Kabupaten Sampang ditemukan 16 jenis mangrove.Secara umum vegetasi pohon mangrove di Kabupaten Sampang memiliki kisaran kerapatan 1867 ind/ha – 3433 ind/ha yang didominasi Rhizophora apiculata pada Lokasi I dan Sonneratia alba pada Lokasi II. Indeks Keanekaragaman (H’) dan Keseragaman (J’) mangrove di Kabupaten Sampang, Madura pada semua lokasi, termasuk dalam kategori rendah. ABSTRACT : Mangrove vegetation could be found in various types of coastal geomorphology which occupies an area between land and water as well as having the characteristics of different environments. This study aimed to determine the structure and composition of mangrove vegetation in Sampang, Madura Island, East Java province on different types of geomorphology. The research was conducted in five locations, and divided into two geomorphology types, which are Sreseh, Taman and Plasah for riverine geomorphology type (Location I) and Polagan and Banyuanyar for fringe geomorphology type (Location II). Vegetation data retrieval was done by using purposive sampling method and each transect made plot sampling. Each individual tree (plot 10 m x 10 m) and sapling (subplot 5 m x 5 m) were identified and measured in diameter at breast height (± 1.3 m). While seedling calculated by the amount of each species and the percentage of coverage (subplots 1 m x 1 m). The results found that there are 16 species of mangrove at Sampang. Generally, mangrove vegetation on tree category in Sampang have a range of density on 1867 ind/ha - 3433 ind/ha where dominated by Rhizophora apiculata at Location I and Sonneratia alba at Location II. Diversity Index (H ') and Evenness Index (J') of mangrove in Sampang, Madura at all locations are included on low category.

Abstract

Sea cucumber is one of the important natural resources of Karimunjawa Islands. Because it has a high economic value, so fishermen exploit excessively it may reduce the population. Naturally sea cucumbers are able to reproduce asexually by fission process (division). This study aimed to determine the ability of fission and regeneration of sea cucumber Holothuria edulis and Holothuria leucospilota having different body sizes. The research was conducted in October-December 2011, in Karimunjawa waters. Jepara. Stimulation of fission carried out by binding sea cucumbers with a rubber band at 1/3 position of the anterior part. The results showed that the sea cucumber H. edulis and H. leucospilota successfully split at the 24. The difference in the size of cucumbers affect the fission time, while the intensity of regeneration of bigger sea cucumbers has higher value than a small one. The rate of fission of H. edulis and H. leucospilota 95-100%. Regeneration intensity of bigger H. edulis and H. leucospilota are higher than the small size. Posterior part of the body has higher survival rate is than the anterior.

Abstract

Produksi serasah mangrove merupakan bagian yang penting dalam transfer bahan organik, karena unsur hara yang dihasilkan dari proses dekomposisi serasah sangat penting dalam pertumbuhan mangrove dan sebagai sumber detritus bagi ekosistem laut dan estuari. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji tingkat produktivitas serasah dan kecepatan dekomposisi serasah daun mangrove di kawasan vegetasi mangrove Pasar Banggi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa rerata total produksi serasah sebesar 617,34 gr/100 m/2 minggu. Daun merupakan penyumbang terbanyak rerata total produksi serasah dan Rhizopora mucronata. lebih banyak menyumbangkan serasah dibandingkan dengan Soneratia alba. Sedangkan pada pengamatan proses R. mucronata terdekomposisi lebih cepat dibandingkan S. alba

Abstract

Anadara granosais one of bivalve species, which lives in the bottom of marine waters it has a long life cycle. This species is commonly used as bioindicator in the assessment of water quality. The variety of human activities, such as settlements, ports, industries, and fishing coastal areas cause a decrease in water quality which directly affect the presence and abudance of mussels in the waters.The aimed was research to determine the relationship between the heavy metal concentration of Cr (Chromium) and size class distribution of the blood mussels (A. granosa) at Eastern Semarang Coastal Waters.The research was conducted from March to April 2012 at 8 stations in Eastern Semarang coastal waters, Semarang Central Java. The method of the research was case study with descriptive data analysis. Sampling locations were determined by purposive sampling methode.The results showed that the lowest heavy metal concentrations of Cr (Chromium) were found at Station III and IV, in front of estuaries of Benger River. They were are 13,92 mg/l for Station III and 19,60 mg/l for Station IV. The highest number of A.granosa were also found at Station III and Station IV, which was 56 and 130. The distribution pattern of A. granosa at the research locations showed a clumped pattern, and the A.granosa most dominant size found in medium class (2-3Cm).

Abstract

Penting adanya informasi dasar tentang gurita dari perairan Indonesia untuk memperbesar pengelolahan dan pelestarian potensi laut Indonesia. Secara historis dibeberapa negara telah mengalami penurunan hasil tangkap gurita dalam beberapa tahun. Tujuan dari diadakannya penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat morfometri pada gurita vulgaris (Octopus vulgaris) dari Perairan Desa Popisi, Pulau Banggai Laut, Sulawesi Tengah dengan parameter panjang mantel, panjang lengan, berat, dan jenis kelamin. Sampel ditangkap oleh nelayan dengan alat pancing sederhana pada kedalaman 10-30 m dari perairan Banggai Laut. Gurita dibagi kedalam 4 kategori berdasarkan berat yang digunakan pengepul, yaitu kategori A, B, C, D. Gurita dari Desa Popisi pada bulan Maret 2018 dalam ukuran yang baik untuk di jual dan di ekspor, yaitu 87% gurita hasil tangkapan berukuran besar dengan kategori A, B, dan C. Pulau Banggai Laut menjadi salah satu wilayah yang masih baik dalam penangkapan gurita karena penangkapan yang konservatif. It is important to have basic information about octopus from Indonesian waters to enlarge the management and preservation of Indonesia's marine potential. Historically, in some countries, there has been a decline in octopus capture results in several years. The purpose of this study was to look at morphometry in octopus vulgaris (Octopus vulgaris) from the waters of Popisi Village, Banggai Laut Island, Central Sulawesi with parameters of mantle length, arm length, weight, and sex. The sample was captured by fishermen with a simple fishing rod at a depth of 10-30 m from the waters of Banggai Laut. Octopus is divided into 4 categories based on the weight used by collectors, namely categories A, B, C, D. Octopus from Popisi Village in March 2018 in a good size to sell and export, namely 87% large-sized octopus with categories A, B, and C. Banggai Laut Island is one of the areas that is still good in capturing octopuses due to conservative arrests.

Abstract

Pandansari estuary waters is an area which flood by high tide or known as “rob”and became a shallow water area. Macrozoobenthos is used as one of the biological component in monitoring of water quality. The purpose of this study was to determine the macrozoobenthos community structure in Pandansari waters, District of Sayung, Demak. There were 4 stations earned 48 genera consist of 7 class, including in the 6 phyla of Molluscs (35 species), Polychaeta (17 species), Crustaceans (5 species), Sipuncula (1 species), nematodes (1 species) and Nemertina (1 species). Macrozoobenthos abundance ranged from 1.910-21.442 ind/m3, with a diversity index of 0.45-2.67, which indicated that the carrying capacity of Pandansari waters to support macrozoobenthos live is low to moderate. The evenness index ranged from 0.23-0.97 are in the category of small to high which indicated the proportion is not the same type of macrozoobenthos, and dominance index of 0.08-0.82, which indicated there was species dominating macrozoobenthos in the waters of Pandansari, district of Sayung, Demak.

Abstract

Placuna placenta are often called scallop shells included in the phylum mollusca, Pelecypoda Class, and Family Placunidae. The research was held on October until December 2012. The research was conducted at the research 8 stations. The materials have been used are scallop shells, sea water, and the substrate of water base. The method used in this research is descriptive method and purposive sampling method as the method in determining the location of doing research with interval of 1 month. The result of this research is that the distribution of scallop shells in Genuk waters found in October was 63 ind / ha, in November 582 Ind / ha and in December 155 ind/ha. The Results of the linear regression about relationship length and weight of the Scallop shells in the period October- December included on negative allometric because the regression coefficient (b) less than 3. The abundance of scallop shells on research site influenced waters condition quality and the organic materials in sediment.

Abstract

ABSTRAK: Perairan Kaliboyo merupakan daerah yang berpotensi mengalami pendangkalan akibat pengendapan sedimen tersuspensi. Potensi dari pengdangkalan tersebut dapat diketahui dengan mengetahui nilai konsentrasi dan sebaran Material Padatan Tersuspensi (MPT). Konsentrasi MPT yang tinggi di laut dipengaruhi oleh arus yang dibangkitkan oleh pasang surut. Tujuan dilakukannya penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh arus laut terhadap konsentrasi dan sebaran MPT di Perairan Kaliboyo Kabupaten Batang, Jawa Tengah. Materi yang digunakan meliputi utama berupa data sampel air dan arus laut sedangkan data pendukung berupa data pasang surut BMKG, dan debit sungai PSDA Jawa Tengah tahun 2017, bathimetri hasil pemeruman tanggal 15 September 2018, dan peta RBI 2017. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif yang bersifat eksploratif, penentuan lokasi pengambilan sampel air menggunakan metode purposive sampling, pengambilan data arus laut menggunakan metode lagrange. Model matematik yang digunakan adalah Flow Flexible Mesh Model 2D untuk arah pergerakan arus dan Inverse Distance  Weighted  untuk interpolasi sebaran MPT.  Berdasarkan hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai material padatan tersuspensi pasang menuju surut pada kedalaman 0.2d memiliki nilai antara 0,027 g/l – 0.114 g/l, kedalaman 0.6d memiliki nilai antara 0,030 g/l – 0,114 g/l, dan kedalaman 0.8d memiliki nilai antara 0,038 g/l – 0,118 g/l. Kecepatan arus memiliki nilai antara 0.0181 m/dt – 0.2011 m/dt dengan arah dominan ke arah barat laut. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa konsentrasi tertinggi material padatan tersuspensi berada di muara sungai dan daerah yang masih dipengaruhi oleh sungai dan mengecil menuju laut lepas.ABSTRACT: Kaliboyo River is an area that has potential by silting due to the deposition of suspended sediments. The potential of this silting can be known by understanding the value of concentration and the distribution of suspended sediment load. The high suspended sediment load concentration in the ocean is influenced by currents generated by tides. The purpose of this research the effect of ocean currents on the concentration and distribution of suspended sediment load in the Kaliboyo River of Batang Regency, Central Java. The material used includes the main data such as water sample, and current. while the supporting data consists of tides data from BMKG, and river discharge from Central Java PSDA in 2017, bathimetry results from September 15, 2018, and RBI 2017 map This study uses quantitative methods that are explorative in nature, taking the location of sampling using the purposive sampling method, taking ocean currents using the lagrange method. The mathematical model used is 2D Flow Flexible Mesh Model for flow direction and Inverse Distance Weighted for TSS distribution interpolation. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the value of the tide suspended solids to tide at the 0.2d level had a value between 0.027 g / l - 0.114 g / l, 0.6d depth had a value between 0.030 g / l - 0.114 g / l, and 0.8d has a value between 0.038 g / l - 0.118 g / l. The current velocity has a value between 0.0181 m / dt - 0.2011 m / dt with the dominant direction to the northwest. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that the highest concentration of total suspended solid in the estuary of the river and the area where still influeced by the river and shrinking towards the open sea.
