Abstract

Indonesia has been supplying the highest diversity of dried sea cucumbers (trepang) to world markets for decades even though species validation on the trepang from any producing areas throughout the country is still needed. Karimunjawa (Islands off north coast of Java) is one of trepang habitats. Several visits from May to November 2009 had been made to collect trepang from the fishers and collectors in that area. Eighteen aspidochirote species were identified, more varied than those reported in 1988 and 1992 although 7 species have no longer been found. Three species among those: Actinopyga banwarthi, Bohadschia subrubra, and Holothuria fuscocinerea have never been reported in Indonesia before, neither on the list of commercial sea cucumbers in Asia nor world trade provided by Choo (2008) and Toral-Grande (2007). These species composition shifts may indicate a threat to species diversity, starting with excessive removal of natural stock. Up to now, 28 species of trepang have been recognized from Karimunjawa waters.

Abstract

Retno Hartati, Edy Supriyo, Muhammad Zainuri, in this paper explain that many salt industry is currently undergoing a inefficiencies process in the production system. Declining quality of salt from the salt ponds and lack of homogeneity in the iodine content of salt briquettes and much KIO3 wasted. So it is necessary to increase the iodine levels in salt. This activity aims to design, create and test a iodized salt machine with a capacity of 1-2 tons per hour and perform quality control on products. Community service activities have been successfully implemented by creating iodized salt machine. The process is done by means of iodized salt machine in the salt product becomes higher and meet ISO standards, in which prior to iodized salt machine the content of KIO3 is 0 ppm and become 50 ppm after using KIO3. Abstract

Untuk menambah penghasilan keluarga, ibu-ibu rumah tangga khususnya di Kota Semarang telah berupaya berwirausaha berbagai makanan ringan, seperti kuping gajah, chistik, kue kecipir, dan pastel kering. UKM Kelompok ”Bina Citra Karya Wanita” pimpinan Ibu Mufidah dan UKM Kelompok ”Bina Karya Sejahtera” pimpinan Ibu Sudartik merupakan kelompok produsen jajanan yang berasal bahan alternatif dari buah mangrove. Namun demikian, mengingat peralatan yang digunakan untuk produksi roti kering masih sangat konvensional, sehingga kualitas maupun kuantitas roti relatif masih rendah. Oleh karenanya, diperlukan sentuhan teknologi untuk proses produksi berupa peralatan pembuat cheesestick, peniris minyak, mixer, dan prosedur operasi pembuatan jajanan berbahan dasar mangrove sehingga dihasilkan kue atau roti kering yang mempunyai tekstur baik, warna menarik, enak, dan renyah. Dari permasalah diatas maka targetnya adalah desain perbaikan peralatan proses produksi Jamang (Jajan Mangrove). Setelah memakai alat pengaduk mekanis, produksi menjadi 7 kg per hari, setelah mengunakan mesin pembuat cheestick produksi menjadi lebih cepat yaitu 15 menit dan setelah menggunakan peniris minyak meningkatkan kualitas dari hasil jajanan mangrove dan menjadi lebih bersih.  Pelaksanaan penerapan IPTEKS bagi masyarakat meningkatkan kapasitas pengetahuan Kelompok UKM Bina Citra Karya Wanita dan UKM Bina Karya Sejahtera di Desa Mangunharjo dan Mangkang Wetan  Diversified Jamang (Jajan Mangrove) With Production Equipment Modification To increase the family's income, housewives, especially in the city of Semarang has sought to entrepreneurship on variety of snacks, such as kuping gajah, cheesestick, kue kecipir and pastel kering. SME Group "Bina Citra Karya Wanita"  lead by Mrs Mufidah and SME Group "Bina Karya Sejahtera" lead by Mrs. Sudartik are snack producer groups based on mangrove flour. However, considering the equipment used for the  production of mangrove flour is still very conventional, so that the quality and quantity of product is still relatively low. Therefore, the necessary to give simple technology on their the production process in the form of equipment cheesestick makers, oil drainer, mixer, and the operating procedures of making snacks made from mangrove so that the resulting dry cake or bread that has a good texture, color attractive, tasty and crunchy. From the problems above, the target is the improvement of production process equipment design mangrove based snack (Jajanan Mangrove). After using a mechanical stirrer, production increase to 7 kg per day, after using the machine becomes faster production cheestick ie 15 minutes and after using the oil drainer improve the quality of the results of mangrove snacks and become cleaner. Implementation of the application of science and technology for increasing the capacity of the knowledge of SME Bina Citra Karya Wanita and SME Bina Karya Sejahtera at village of Mangunharjo and Mangkang Wetan, Semarang.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempelajari kadar total lipid dan kepadatan pada mikroalga Nitzschia sp. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap dengan  perlakuan salinitas 15, 20, 25, 30, dan 35 ppt (3 kali ulangan). . Nitzschia sp. dikultur pada skala laboratorium dengan pupuk F/2 dan dilakukan pemanenan setelah mencapai fase stasioner untuk kemudian diukur kadar total lipid.   Perlakuan salinitas menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata kepadatan Nitzschia sp. tertinggi pada salinitas 20 ppt (37,32 x 106 sel/mL) dan rata-rata kepadatan terendah pada salinitas 30 ppt 1(8,62 x106 sel/mL).  Berdasarkan hasil pengamatan diperoleh nilai rata-rata persentase kadar total lipid tertinggi terdapat pada salinitas 35 ppt (71,51 ± 5,35 %-dw) dan persentase rata-rata kadar total lipid terendah terdapat pada salinitas 15 ppt (13,26 ± 0.47 %-dw). Dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa Nitzschia sp. dapat tumbuh pada salinitas 15 – 35 ppt dengan kepadatan tertinggi pada salinitas 20 ppt dan rata- rata persentase kadar total lipid tertinggi pada salinitas 30 ppt. Kata-kata kunci: Nitzschia sp., densitas, salinitas, kadar total lipid.

Abstract

Mangrove forests are unique ecosystems, due to a combination of habitat caused by land and sea. Mangrove ecosystem is also the life of various animal species, including crustaceans benthos plays an important role in the ecosystem. The change of land use for a wide range of human interests are expected to affect the abundance krustaseayang conditions contained in the region. The study was conducted in September 2011 - March 2012. This research is descriptive. Sampling was done by two methods, ie. qualitative (in 5x5 meter2) and quantitative (1x1 meter2). The results showed that 22 species were found, ie. 14 species (belong to 5 family) of Infra Order Brachyura, 4 species (belong to 4 family) of Infra Order Macrura, 3 species Isopoda and one species Copepod. Diversity index revealed that all stations had medium category Uniformity index showed that station A and D had high category, station B and C had stations is low category. There were no dominance at Stations A and D, but Station B and C were dominated by Cerapus sp. Most of crustaceans was clumped distributed. High community similarity index values showed by Station A-B, A-C, B-C but low at Stations A-D, B-D, C-D). Generally, among Brachyuran, male greater number than females, and 23.07% gravid females were found.

Abstract

Ikan kembung (Rastrelliger spp) merupakan salah satu ikan pelagis yang hidup di perairan bersalinitas tinggi dan suka hidup bergerombol. Semakin meningkatnya permintaan akan ikan membuat semakin tinggi penangkapan ikan yang dilakukan. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui tingkat kematangan gonad ikan kembung (Rastrelliger spp) dan mengetahui hubungan antara panjang dengan berat, hubungan antara berat dengan fekunditas, dan hubungan antara berat gonad dengan IKG (Indeks Kematangan Gonad) dari ikan kembung (Rastrelliger spp).Sebanyak 80 ekor Ikan Kembung yang didapatkan dari pasar kobong diukur panjang total dan ditimbang beratnya. Kemudian dilakukan pembedahan untuk diamati jenis kelamin dan tingkat kematangan gonadnya. Penelitian ini meliputi: Indeks Kematangan Gonad, Tingkat Kematangan Gonad, fekunditas dan rasio kelamin. Pengamatan tingkat kematangan gonad dilakukan untuk menentukan indeks kematangan gonad (IKG). Tingkat kematangan gonad ikan kembung (Rastrelliger spp) terdiri dari TKG I sampai TKG V. Nilai IKG yang didapatkan untuk ikan jantan berkisar 0,14-6,42% dan betina berkisar 0,64-7,25%, hal tersebut menunjukkan bahwa nilai tersebut bervariasi antara ikan jantan dan betina. Hasil penelitian dengan 80 sampel ikan kembung menunjukkan rasio kelaminnya tidak seimbang yaitu 42,5:57,5 dimana angka jantan lebih tinggi. Pertambahan ukuran panjang memberikan pengaruh yang nyata terhadap fekunditas, pertambahan ukuran panjang ikan kembung betina memberikan pengaruh yang nyata terhadap berat, pertambahan ukuran panjang ikan kembung jantan memberikan pengaruh yang nyata terhadap berat. Sedangkan berat ikan betina tidak memberikan pengaruh yang nyata terhadap IKG dan berat ikan jantan memberikan pengaruh yang nyata terhadap IKG Rastrelliger spp is one of the pelagic fish that live in high salinity and like to live in groups. The increasing demand for this fish, makes the catching activity of this fish grow higher. The aim of the research is to know the Gonad Maturation Stage (GMS) of  Rastrelliger spp to know the relationship between length and weight, the relationship between weight with fecundity, and relationship between gonad weight and Gonad Maturation Index from Rastrelliger spp. 80 samples of Rastrelliger spp that were obtained from the market were measured, the measurement included were length and weight. And then a surgery was performed to examine their sex and their Gonad Maturation Stage. In the end to obtain the results of its fecundity, its gonad were taken and the weight was measured. GMI. Gonad maturation stage of Rastrelliger spp fish was I-V. the range of GMI for male fish was 0,14-6,42% and female 0,64-7,25%. That were indicated a various values of GMI male and female fishes. The result of research with 80 samples of Rastrelliger spp showed unbalanced sex ratio 42,5: 57,5 where male number was higher. The addition of length measure gave a real effect to fecundity, the increase of length of female gave a significant effect on the weight, the increase of length of  male gives a real effect on the weight. While the weight of female fish did not give a real effect on GMI and the weight of male fish gives a real effect on GMI

Abstract

Sungai Kalisantren yang berada di Desa Mangunharjo, memiliki muara yang kecil yang di tumbuhi vegetasi mangrove Rhizophora sp. dan Avicennnia sp. Di sekitar muara sungai terdapat tambak sebagian terkena abrasi.  Vegetasi mangrove yang didominasi sehingga sangat menunjang untuk daerah pertambakan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui komposisi dan kelimpahan udang sungai di muara Sungai Kalisantren Desa Mangunharjo Kecamatan Tugu Semarang. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif eksploratif. Penentuan lokasi sampling dengan purposive sampling method  kemudian pengambilan sampel menggunakan metode kualitatif pada lift net 1,8 X 1,4 m2. Metode pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan Sample Survey Method. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan Oktober 2012 sampai November 2012 di mangrove, sungai, dan tambak dengan dua kali pengulagan tiap sejam sekali. Hasil penelitian ditemukan dua spesies Penaeid di area penelitian yaitu Penaeus merguiensis dan Penaeus monodon. Kelas ukuran dari 0.1.0 sampai 10.1-11 cm. Kelimpahan rata-rata udang Penaeid tertinggi terdapat di sungai pada bulan November 2012 adalah 6,377 ind/m2, dan terendah terdapat di mangrove pada bulan  Oktober 2012 adalah 0,314 ind/m2. Kelimpahan rata-rata udang Penaeus merguiensis tertinggi terdapat pada bulan November 2012 di sungai adalah 4,025 ind/m2. Sedangkan terendah pada bulan November 2012 di mangrove adalah 0,137 ind/m2. Kelimpahan rata-rata udang Penaeus monodon tertinggi yang terdapat di sungai pada bulan November 2012 adalah 2,352 ind/m2. Sedangkan terendah pada bulan Oktober 2012 di mangrove adalah 0,137 ind/m2
