Abstract

This study aims to analyze the science process skills of grade XII IPA students at SMA Srijaya Negara Palembang. KPS supports active and relevant learning with 21st century competencies. The development of science and technology up to the 21st century cannot be separated from skills that begin with basic skills in observing a phenomenon which are then continued with more complex skills, namely science process skills. This study uses a quantitative descriptive method using a sample of 46 students, data was taken with a question instrument with a reliability value (0.76) and validity with a correlation (0.61) using IMB SPSS Statistich 25 analysis. The results of the analysis of students' science process skills obtained that the highest indicator with an average value of 73.9 in the high category with the indicator of observing. For the lowest indicator with an average value of 39.15 in the low category on the indicator of grouping

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh hasil observasi pada siswa SD Indotionghoa Tarakan kelas V – B yang menunjukkan bahwa peserta didik cenderung pasif dan kurang interaktif dalam proses pembelajaran di kelas khususnya pada pembelajaran IPA. Hal ini berdampak pada hasil belajar siswa yang rendah dan setiap kali diberikan soal-soal dengan tingkat analisis tinggi yang seharusnya melibatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis, siswa hanya menjawab ala kadarnya saja. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu, 1) mengetahui hasil penerapan model pembelajaran learning cycle dalam pendekatan kooperatif dan kolaboratif di kelas, 2) mengetahui hasil implementasi model pembelajaran learning cycle dengan pendekatan kooperatif dan kolaboratif guna meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa, 3) mengetahui sejauh mana pembelajaran learning cycle dengan pendekatan kooperatif dan kolaboratif dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi.

Abstract

Kajian anatomi tumbuhan merupakan pendekatan penting dalam memahami keragaman hayati dan hubungan filogenetik antarspesies. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis struktur anatomi organ akar, batang, dan daun tumbuhan biduri (Calotropis gigantea). Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dan metode yang digunakan meliputi teknik manual section dan maserasi, dengan pengamatan mikroskopis untuk mengidentifikasi karakteristik jaringan penyusun. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa akar biduri memiliki jaringan penyusun yang terdiri dari epidermis, korteks,perisikel, floem, xilem, dan empulur. Batang biduri terdiri dari beberapa jaringan penyusun yaitu epidermis, korteks, kambium vaskular, floem, perisikel, xilem, dan empulur. Selain itu, pada batang biduri juga terdapat serat dan trakea dengan tipe skalariform Daun biduri memiliki persebaran stomata amphistomatik dengan tipe stomata parasitik dan memiliki sel epidermis daun bentuk poligonal. Temuan ini diharapkan dapatmemberikan kontribusi baru dalam pemahaman anatomi tumbuhan biduri serta mendukung penelitian lebih lanjut dalam bidang taksonomi dan fisiologi tumbuhan.

Abstract

There has been a decline in the knowledge of batik among younger generations, including its meaning and underlying philosophy. Knowledge of batik may be cultivated by creating educational videos incorporating ethnobiological studies. No studies have been conducted on kawung batik in educational video production. This research aims to examine batik kawung from an ethnobiological perspective and create an educational video to facilitate Knowledge of batik instruction. The research method is exploratory and qualitative. The research methodology employed various techniques, including interviews, document analysis, and a review of relevant literature. The findings indicated that the kawung batik motif was derived from the geometrical arrangement of kolang-kaling. This batik will reflect the meanings of purity, perfection, and completeness. The tools and materials utilized remain traditional, with a 12-step manufacturing process. Five species are associated with the production of kawung batik, which are classified into eudicots and monocots. The study's findings on kawung batik have been transformed into an educational video to impart Knowledge of batik. Knowledge of batik has the potential to facilitate the simultaneous teaching of local wisdom, indigenous knowledge, and biodiversity.

Abstract

Learning models contribute to students' learning outcomes because the way of interaction and collaboration in the learning process can affect the understanding of the material. To determine the effect of cooperative learning models on learning outcomes, a quasi-experimental study with a pretest-posttest nonrandomized control group design was conducted. In this study, Think Pair Share (TPS) and Jigsaw learning models were chosen for learning environmental changes. This research was conducted at MAN Tarakan in November 2024. The research sample was class X.6 students as experiment 1 class and class X.4 students as experiment 2 class. The research instrument used was a test instrument in the form of multiple-choice questions. The results indicated that the posttest scores of students who learned with the Think Pair Share (TPS) learning model were higher than those of students who were taught with the Jigsaw learning model. Hypothesis testing using an independent t-sample t-test was carried out with a confidence level of 95% and obtained a sig (2-tailed) value of 0.441> 0.05, which means that H0 is accepted and H1 is rejected. Based on the hypothesis test, it can be concluded that there was no difference in biology learning outcomes between students who used the TPS learning model and the Jigsaw model. However, the N-gain test results indicated that the TPS model got a value of 61.31%, which was included in the "Quite Effective" category in improving student learning outcomes. In contrast, the Jigsaw model got a value of 54.55%, which is included in the "Less Effective" category. Therefore, it is concluded that although there was no significant difference, the TPS model was more effective than the Jigsaw model in improving learning outcomes.

Abstract

Jajanan atau makanan selingan merupakan salah satu jenis makanan yang cukup digemari dan sering dikonsumsi masyarakat. Banyak makanan yang kurang berkhasiat yang beredar di masyarakat padahal kandungan pada makanan dapat mempengaruhi tubuh dan pada akhirnya mempengaruhi aktivitas harian. Daya tahan tubuh atau imunitas sangat penting untuk diperhatikan dan diupayakan dengan baik terutama pada masa kini yakni dengan munculnya berbagai penyakit teramsuk yang diakibatkan oleh virus. Diantara kendala dalam pemenuhan makanan yang berkhasiat yakni rumit, mahal, tidak terbiasa, dan kurang pengetahuan masyarakat terkait cara pengolahan bahan alam menajdi produk yang sehat dan praktis. Kegiatan pelatihan pembuatan permen sehat dari bahan yang kaya khasiat ini diharapkan dapat membantu masyarakat dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan dalam upaya-upaya hidup sehat dan terampil. Selain itu, diharapkan masyarakat dapat menjadikan permen sehat sebagai suplemen dalam mendukung daya tahan tubuh dalam melaksanakan aktivitas harian.  Metode pelaksanaan pengabdian terdiri dari metode pendekatan kegiatan dan partisipasi mitra, metode pelaksanaan, evaluasi pelaksanaan program kegiatan, dan keberlanjutan kegiatan. Masyarakat yang menjadi mitra dalam kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah ibu-ibu anggota Pemberdayaan dan Kesejahteraan Keluarga (PKK) di Desa Sungai Nyamuk, Kecamatan Sebatik, Kalimantan Utara. Berdasarkan instrumen kuesioner, bahwa terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan masyarakat terkait pembuatan produk permen yang berkhsiat. Selain itu, produk juga dinilai efisien baik dari segi kemudahan pembuatan maupun terjangkaunya bahan serta harga bahan.

Abstract

Ferns (Pteridophyta) are spore-bearing plants characterized by leaves that are circular when young (circinate vernation). This study aims to determine the types of ferns growing around the Sempayang village forest and their utilization by the local community. This study was conducted exploration methode with a survey. The survey was conducted to identify the types of ferns and their utilization. The study was conducted in Sempayang village, West Malinau district, from September to November 2022. The identification results consisted of 12 types of ferns, namely Asplenium nidus, Diplazium asperum, Deparia petersenii, Polypodium sp., Drynaria quicifolia, Sphenomeris sp., Nephrolepis hirsutula, Lyggodium circinatum, Dicranopteris linearis, Blechnum oriental, Adiantum latifolium, and Lygodium microphyluum. The Sempayang Village community utilizes the potential of ferns as vegetables, ornamental plants, and traditional medicine.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran DOMCERMA (Ludo Sistem Pencernaan Manusia) di Kelas V-A SDN 015 Tarakan. Berdasarkan observasi awal, ditemukan masalah pada kegiatan pembelajaran yaitu siswa cendrung pasif dan siswa terlihat jenuh saat belajar. Hal ini disebabkan kurang adanya media yang menarik digunakan guru pada saat proses pembelajaran berlangsung. Oleh arena itu, penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian dan pengembangan (R&D) dengan model ADDIE, yang terdiri dari lima tahapan: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan media pembelajaran DOMCERMA yang dikembangkan memiliki kelayakan berdasarkan validasi dari ali media dan materi. hasil validasi yang diperoleh dari ahli media persentase sebesar 83% dan ahi materi memperoleh persentase sebesar 83%. selain itu terdapat hasil dari angket respon guru dan siswa, dimana media pembelajaran DOMCERMA dinyatakan sangat menarik digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran dengan persentase yang diperoleh pada angket respon guru uji coba terbatas dan uji coba lapangan  84% dan 80%, sedangkan angekt responsable siswa pada uji coba terbatas memperoleh sebesar 91% dan uji coba lapangan memperoleh persentase sebesar 93% dimana dikategorikan sangat menarik.

Abstract

Traditional food, Pelleng, is a spiced rice dish served during the traditional ceremonies of the Pakpak Batak community in North Sumatra, symbolizing strength, blessing, and unity. One of its main ingredients is Andaliman (Zanthoxylum acanthopodium), an endemic spice of the Toba Highlands known for its distinctive flavor, ecological value, and cultural significance. Despite its rich heritage, no prior studies have documented the ethnobotanical composition of Pelleng or linked it to biodiversity learning. Therefore, this study aims to identify the plant species used as spices in preparing Pelleng rice and to explore their cultural and symbolic meanings within the Pakpak Batak community., interpret their cultural meanings, and make an educational poster connecting traditional food heritage with Grade X biodiversity topics. Field exploration and surveys were conducted in Bakal Julu Village, Siempat Nempu Hulu Subdistrict, Dairi Regency, using semi-structured interviews with four key informants (traditional leaders, traditional cooks, elders, and homemakers), complemented by field surveys and photographic documentation. Data were analyzed qualitatively and descriptively to determine the ecological and cultural values of each species. The study identified 17 plant species from 11 families used as spices in Pelleng preparation, including food crops, spices, and medicinal plants. Andaliman emerged as a cultural keystone species whose sensory and symbolic roles are irreplaceable. Integrating Pelleng’s ethnobotanical knowledge into instructional media—such as a thematic biodiversity poster—offers a meaningful approach to bridging indigenous knowledge and science education. This research is expected to enrich biology teaching materials with culturally relevant content, raise students’ awareness of biodiversity, and support the preservation of cultural heritage through the documentation and educational integration of ethnobotanical knowledge.

Abstract

Kopi menjadi salah satu komoditas perkebunan strategis dengan nilai ekonomi tinggi dan distribusi konsumsi yang luas secara global. Selain biji kopi yang menjadi produk utama, bagian tanaman lain seperti daun dan kulit buah kopi diketahui mengandung beragam senyawa metabolit sekunder yang berpotensi memberikan manfaat farmakologis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi kandungan metabolit sekunder pada ekstrak daun dan kulit buah kopi robusta melalui uji fitokimia kualitatif. Sampel diambil dari perkebunan kopi di Lampung Barat, diidentifikasi secara morfologi, kemudian diekstraksi dan dianalisis menggunakan pereaksi spesifik untuk mendeteksi alkaloid, flavonoid, fenolik/tanin, saponin, terpenoid, dan steroid. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak daun maupun kulit buah kopi robusta positif mengandung alkaloid (presipitasi putih-cokelat), flavonoid (warna kuning kecokelatan disertai busa), fenolik/tanin (warna hijau kebiruan), saponin (buih stabil ±30 detik), dan terpenoid (cincin merah), sedangkan senyawa golongan steroid tidak terdeteksi. Keberadaan senyawa tersebut mengindikasikan potensi aktivitas biologis seperti antioksidan, antiinflamasi, antimikroba, dan kardioprotektif, sebagaimana dilaporkan dalam penelitian terdahulu dalam satu dekade terakhir. Temuan ini memperkuat prospek pemanfaatan bagian non-biji kopi robusta sebagai sumber senyawa bioaktif yang dapat dikembangkan dalam industri fitofarmaka dan pangan fungsional berbasis tanaman.
