Abstract

This research is motivated by the lack of interesting and interactive learning media variations that can improve students' understanding and motivation towards learning materials. This study aims to develop interactive powerpoint learning media used in the learning process of grade IV elementary school students. The method used is research and development (R&D) with a 4D model consisting of 4 stages, namely: define, design, develop, and dissimimate. This study uses an instrument in the form of a questionnaire in collecting data, the lifting sheets used are: media expert questionnaire, language expert questionnaire, material expert questionnaire and student response questionnaire. The results of the media expert validation showed a percentage of 87.36% with the category "very feasible". The validation of language experts showed a percentage of 80% with the category "feasible". The validation of material experts showed a percentage of 95% with the category "very feasible. The response of students to the media was very positive, with a percentage value of 93.33% with the category "very good". Based on these results, the interactive powerpoint learning media developed is feasible to be used as a learning medium for grade IV elementary school students.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the need to understand human development holistically, encompassing biological, cognitive, and psychosocial aspects comprehensively. The problem addressed is how the concept of holistic development can explain the characteristics, physical and psychological changes, as well as the fundamental principles governing the developmental process. The focus of the study is to describe the understanding of holistic development, developmental characteristics, changes occurring in biological, cognitive, and psychosocial aspects, and the principles underlying the developmental process. The method used is a qualitative descriptive literature review by examining relevant academic literature and previous research. Key stages of the study include data collection from journals, books, and scientific articles, analysis of concepts and theories of holistic development, and synthesis of findings. The results show that holistic development is a continuous and interconnected process between physical, cognitive, and psychosocial aspects, characterized by orderly and individual changes. The principles of development emphasize differences in developmental rates among individuals, the close relationship between physical and psychological aspects, and the influence of the environment as an important factor. The main conclusion is that understanding development holistically provides a comprehensive picture of the complex and dynamic human growth process, making this approach essential for application in education, caregiving, and human resource development.

Abstract

The research on Pop Up Book learning media with the V-Volding technique is motivated by the low academic performance in the IPAS subject for 4th-grade elementary school and the lack of use of learning media. This research and development uses the Research and Development (R&D) method model, employing the 4D model. The study was conducted at SD N Ngrukeman, in the Kasihan District, Tamantirto Village, Yogyakarta. Data collection for this research was carried out through interviews, tests, and questionnaires. The results of this study provide validation from expert validators in media, IPAS experts, as well as responses from students and teachers, indicating that the pop up book learning media received a “very valid” criterion in the validation assessment from media and material experts. Meanwhile, the results of the normality test using Shapiro Wilk show that the data is normally distributed, as well as in the Sample T-test which obtained a significance level of 0.00<0.05, meaning that the use of the media. Similarly, the Sample T-test obtained a significance of 0.00<0.05, meaning that the use of this learning media is capable of improving students' academic performance, as evidenced by the increase in average pretest and posttest scores of 57.5 using the Pop Up Book learning media on this plant topic.

Abstract

The quality of learning in higher education is the primary foundation for producing competent and competitive graduates. Various efforts have been made to improve it, one of which is through the formation and empowerment of lecturer communities. This article aims to examine in-depth the strategic role of lecturer communities in improving the quality of learning. Using comprehensive literature research methods, this article analyzes various studies and expert perspectives regarding the contribution of lecturer communities to the development of innovative pedagogy, the exchange of knowledge and experience, and collaboration in research and curriculum development. The results indicate that lecturer communities have significant potential as catalysts for positive change in learning practices, but their effectiveness depends heavily on institutional support, active member participation, and a clear focus on improving the quality of learning. This article concludes that strengthening and empowering lecturer communities is a crucial investment for the sustainable improvement of the quality of higher education.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a Pop-Up Book learning media integrated with the Parallel Slide technique as an innovative solution to improve student learning outcomes in Science and Social Studies (IPAS) for fourth-grade elementary school students. The research employed the 4D development model, consisting of Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate”stages. The study was conducted at SD Muhammadiyah Ambarbinangun using interviews, questionnaires, and tests as data collection methods. Validation by media and subject matter experts indicated that the developed media was categorized as highly valid. Effectiveness testing was carried out through pretest and posttest assessments, analyzed using the Shapiro-Wilk test and Paired Sample t-Test.”The results revealed a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating a statistically significant”improvement in student learning outcomes. Student responses reached 90.83%, while teacher responses were recorded at 95%, reflecting a highly positive reception. These findings suggest that the Pop-Up Book media is practical and feasible for use in IPAS learning to enhance student achievement.

Abstract

Multicultural education is crucial for fostering tolerance and harmony amidst Indonesia's cultural diversity. This study examines the integration of local wisdom values in multicultural education in elementary schools and its impact on students' multicultural attitudes. Using a qualitative descriptive method with interviews and observations, the research finds that incorporating local wisdom values such as gotong royong and tolerance cultivates positive character traits in students. The findings suggest that multicultural education based on local wisdom is effective in shaping strong multicultural attitudes and is relevant for education in Indonesia. This study highlights the importance of integrating local wisdom values into school curricula to build a harmonious and character-driven society.

Abstract

Currently many people especially the younger generation do not yet have a sense of social awareness, this is caused by the flow of globalization, so that people have an individualistic attitude and lack interaction. So that Karang Taruna has an important role in increasing social awareness in society and the younger generation. This study aims to (1) determine the social awareness of the community, (2) determine the form of Karang Taruna activities, and (3) determine the supporting factors and inhibiting factors of Karang Taruna in increasing social awareness. The method used by researchers in this study is a qualitative method. The results of this study are (1) the community's social awareness contains three elements, namely the community's empathy to help residents build houses, the community's mental attitude that is not easily influenced by the current of globalization, and the community's cooperative attitude in carrying out community service, (2) the form of Karang Taruna activities is community service, distributing social assistance to the underprivileged, and enlivening national holidays, and (3) Supporting factors from an internal perspective, namely Karang Taruna members are active in social activities and from an external perspective, namely participation and support from the community in social activities. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factors from the internal side are the lack of funds for Karang Taruna activities and from the external side, there are people who have less contribution to support Karang Taruna social activities.

Abstract

This study is based on the fact that the development of human potential can be processed through educational activities that are usually organized by the government or the private sector. Education can be said to be a life process to develop all the potential that exists in individuals to be able to live and be able to carry out life fully so that they become educated individuals, both cognitively, affectively, and psychomotorically. This study aims to determine the implementation of the independent curriculum in developing the potential of students. The approach used is qualitative with descriptive methods. The results of this study indicate that learning objectives must be able to make students think critically and solve problems, be creative and innovative, be skilled at communicating and collaborating, and have character. Therefore, in planning the implementation of learning activities, they must be able to face challenges and take advantage of educational opportunities in the era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0. And teachers are the key to the success of the independent learning education system, therefore they must be able to adapt to the new education system in order to have skills and competencies. The implementation of the Independent Curriculum has been carried out quite well in the first year, but each School of Mover has the task of how to develop in compiling and implementing this Independent Curriculum so that it can be applied in all its classes, in the current year.

Abstract

One indicator of educational success is the use of educational media as a means of achieving the expected learning outcomes. The purpose of this study is to review research articles that discuss the currently popular learning video media. The articles reviewed in 2018-2023 using Google Scholar as a source. Then a classification is carried out based on the influence of learning media on the learning outcomes of elementary school students. This study uses the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) research method with the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items For Systematic Reviews and Meta Analyses) stages. The reviewed articles are in accordance with the research topic. The research results found ten articles that were in accordance with the research topic, namely the influence of video learning media which has been proven to improve student learning outcomes.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe learning activities, changes in students' critical thinking skills and conceptual understanding after the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model, and students' responses to the model on energy material. The study used a pre-experimental approach with a one group pretest-posttest design, involving 25 fifth grade elementary school students as participants. Data were collected through observation, tests, and questionnaires, then analyzed using quantitative descriptive techniques. The results showed that the implementation of learning was in the very good category, with an average score of 4 during two weeks of implementation. Students' critical thinking skills increased significantly, as seen from the N-Gain value with a high category in 25 students and a moderate category in 1 student. In addition, the questionnaire showed that students' responses to learning were very positive with an average score of 90.37. From these results, it can be concluded that the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning model is effective in improving students' critical thinking skills on energy material. These findings also enrich the science learning literature and are expected to be a reference for teachers in efforts to improve the quality of learning and student learning achievement, especially in developing critical thinking skills in the classroom.
