Abstract

Young entrepreneurs face increasing challenges in building networks and accessing economic opportunities in digital environments. Beyond funding and visibility, the ability to initiate conversations effectively has emerged as a strategic asset. This study examines opening conversations not as casual exchanges but as intentional linguistic acts that convey credibility, negotiate identity, and mobilize social capital. Through a literature review in pragmatics, sociolinguistics, and entrepreneurial communication, the research identifies patterns in structure, context, actor roles, and communicative intent. Findings highlight the strategic use of platforms like LinkedIn and Instagram, where entrepreneurs craft context-sensitive textual openers under constraints of limited nonverbal cues and rapid trust-building demands. Grounded in facework (Brown & Levinson), symbolic capital (Bourdieu), and interactional sociolinguistics (Gumperz), the study underscores language as a vital entrepreneurial tool. It advocates for integrating pragmatic communication and digital discourse strategies into entrepreneurial education.

Abstract

Strategic leadership is increasingly challenged by organizational volatility, digital disruption, and shifting stakeholder expectations, exposing the limitations of hierarchical and directive leadership models. This literature review addresses these issues by examining how contemporary leaders mobilize power, communication, and change as interdependent capabilities to navigate complexity and drive transformation. Integrating discursive, distributed, and relational-ethical leadership theories, the analysis highlights the critical roles of sensemaking, psychological safety, and empowerment in fostering adaptive capacity and innovation. The review reveals that leaders who frame power as shared influence and use communication as a tool for alignment and narrative construction are better equipped to manage resistance, sustain engagement, and support organizational learning. Core implications point to the need for leadership development models that prioritize participatory approaches, communicative agility, and context-sensitive decision-making—particularly in crisis-prone and emerging market environments where adaptability and relational trust are paramount for long-term resilience and strategic success.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of the claim ratio and operating costs on the profitability of a guarantee company, with guarantee fees as a moderating variable. The profitability of a guarantee company is an important indicator in measuring financial performance and business sustainability, therefore the factors that influence it need to be studied in depth. The research data were obtained from the monthly financial statements of PT Jamkrindo for a five-year period, thus reflecting the company's actual condition over a relatively long period. The analytical methods used were multiple linear regression and Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA) with the help of EViews software, which allows testing of direct effects and interactions between variables. The results show that the claim ratio has a negative but insignificant effect on profitability, indicating that an increase in the claim ratio tends to decrease profitability, although the effect is not statistically strong enough. Meanwhile, operating costs have a positive but insignificant effect on profitability, which may indicate that the efficiency of operational cost management is not yet a major determinant of financial performance. Other findings indicate that guarantee fees are able to negatively moderate the relationship between the claim ratio and profitability, meaning that an increase in the guarantee fee can strengthen the impact of the decline in profitability due to a high claim ratio. Conversely, underwriting fees were unable to moderate the effect of operating costs on profitability, indicating that increased underwriting revenue does not directly mitigate the impact of operating costs on financial performance. Overall, this study emphasizes the importance of optimal claim ratio management and utilizing underwriting fees as a strategy to increase profitability. These results can serve as a reference for underwriting company management in formulating more effective policies to maintain financial stability and competitiveness in the underwriting industry.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of Management by Objectives (MBO) as a performance assessment method in startup companies in Indonesia. The research method used is a literature study with a qualitative approach that examines in depth MBO theories, implementation principles, and practices that have been applied in startups, especially in Sigerhub Lampung. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of MBO through Objective Key Results (OKR) helps companies in setting specific, measurable, relevant, and time- bound targets. In addition, the use of 360 Degree Feedback supports a more holistic performance assessment by involving superiors, coworkers, and subordinates. The implementation of MBO can also increase work motivation, accountability, and employee involvement in achieving organizational goals. However, the implementation of MBO in startups still faces challenges, such as non-uniform assessment standards, potential assessor bias, and the need for training for managers. This study is expected to be a theoretical and practical contribution to the development of an adaptive and effective performance management system in startup companies in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of service quality, facilities, and human resources on the realization of general service retribution revenue in West Sumbawa Regency. The realization of general service retribution in West Sumbawa Regency remains fluctuating and has not yet been optimal, while service quality, facilities, and human resources are important factors in driving an increase in the realization of general service retribution revenue. This research uses a quantitative associative approach with primary data and multiple linear regression analysis through IBM SPSS Statistics 25. The results show that, partially, service quality and human resources have a positive and significant effect, while facilities do not have a significant effect. Simultaneously, service quality, facilities, and human resources have a positive and significant effect. These findings emphasize the importance of improving service quality, facilities, and human resources to optimize general service retribution revenue and support the increase of locally generated revenue (PAD) as well as sustainable development in West Sumbawa Regency. Therefore, it is expected that the local government will develop appropriate strategies to improve these aspects in order to achieve more optimal regional development goals.

Abstract

This study aims to compare the advantages and disadvantages of the Islamic economic system and the conventional economic system, with a descriptive qualitative literature study approach. The Islamic economic system is based on sharia principles such as justice, mutual assistance, balance, and prohibition of usury, gharar, and maysir practices. This system issues a fair distribution of wealth based on ethical values. Meanwhile, the conventional economic system, both capitalist and socialist, places more emphasis on market efficiency, individual freedom, and varying state interventions. The results of the study indicate that the Islamic economic system excels in aspects of social justice and economic ethics, while the conventional economic system is more flexible and innovative, but tends to create economic inequality. This study is expected to provide insight into making fairer and more sustainable economic policies.

Abstract

In today’s highly volatile and complex global environment, growth has become a strategic imperative rather than a mere option. This study explores how firms navigate organic, inorganic, and hybrid growth strategies to achieve sustainable competitive advantage in VUCA (volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity) conditions. Drawing on a systematic literature review of 52 peer-reviewed articles published between 2015 and 2025, this paper examines how internal capabilities and external opportunities are aligned through growth configurations. The findings indicate that organic growth fosters innovation depth, brand cohesion, and cultural alignment, while inorganic growth provides rapid access to markets, technologies, and resources. However, each approach carries unique risks—organic growth may be too slow in fast-changing sectors, while inorganic strategies may face integration and cultural challenges. Hybrid strategies, which blend both approaches, emerge as the most adaptive solution in dynamic environments, offering firms flexibility to combine speed with sustainability. Strategic fit, absorptive capacity, and organizational agility are identified as key enablers of growth effectiveness. This study contributes to the theoretical development of growth strategy from a dynamic capabilities perspective and offers practical guidance for organizations designing context-sensitive growth paths.
