Abstract

The essence of Islamic preaching (Da‘wah) lies in awakening the dormant soul of humankind and guiding the lost towards the path of the Most Merciful by warning them against the ways of Satan. Da‘wah and Irshad represent a divine process through which a person becomes spiritually connected with the Creator; his heart and mind are illuminated by the light of divine guidance. It transforms an individual into one who, while living amidst worldly realities, remains deeply attached to the eternal life of the Hereafter. The true purpose of Da‘wah is to strengthen the relationship between the Creator and His creation. To establish this sacred connection, the Prophets (peace be upon them) adopted the method of Da‘wah and Irshad a path that combines wisdom, compassion, and moral persuasion. Among the various methods of Da‘wah, the most balanced and effective is the approach of “Targhib WA Tarhib” (Encouragement and Warning) which aligns perfectly with the innate nature of human being. The Prophetic model of Da‘wah, presented by the Holy Prophet Muhammad((PBUH)) embodies a unique and comprehensive synthesis of knowledge, insight, mercy, justice, fear of Allah, and hope in His mercy.

Abstract

This research paper presents an analysis of effective methods of Islamic communication and propagation in digital space in the modern era. Social media, YouTube, podcasts and other digital platforms have provided new possibilities for disseminating the message of Da'wah on a global scale, but at the same time, several challenges have emerged, such as the lack of verified academic content, negative propaganda, and the spread of superficial religious narratives. The research examines the classical principles of Islamic Da'wah in the context of modern digital media, and examines what strategies contemporary preachers should adopt to make their message effective, reasoned, and morally inspiring. The objectives of this research are to analyze the possibilities and challenges of Da'wah in digital space, to harmonize the principles of Islamic communication with digital media, and to expose the younger generation to authentic and moderate Islamic narratives. This research has been conducted in a literary and analytical manner, in which data obtained from contemporary Islamic scholars, digital da’wah channels, and online surveys were reviewed. And it was attempted to determine whether digital platforms are proving effective for Islamic da’wah. Also, what strategies can be used to make da’wah more effective in the digital age. And is digital da’wah content having a positive impact on the minds of the youth? The results of the research show that a da’wah message that is visually, morally, and intellectually balanced can have a profound impact on the young generation. The success of da’wah and communication depends on understanding the psychology of the addressee, intertextual comparison, and transparent communication. Abstract

This article explores the concept of self-awareness therapy from a Sufi perspective as an integrative approach combining Islamic spirituality and modern psychotherapy. The study is motivated by the increasing prevalence of mental health issues, emphasizing the need for a therapeutic approach that addresses not only cognitive and biological aspects but also the spiritual dimension. Employing a qualitative library research method, this study examines the notion of self-awareness as the Divine Image (citra Ilahi), rooted in the Sufi principle of ma‘rifah al-nafs (true self-knowledge). Within this framework, humans are viewed as beings reflecting the Divine attributes through intellect, heart, and behavior. The therapy encompasses five essential dimensions: (1) awareness of the manifestation of Allah’s attributes within oneself, (2) awareness of Allah’s presence in every moment (muraqabah), (3) tranquility with the Divine element (itmi’nān), (4) longing to return to God (istirjā’), and (5) the awareness that loving God means loving oneself. The findings reveal that self-awareness therapy based on the Divine Image serves as a holistic spiritual model that fosters inner peace, psychological balance, and ethical behavior aligned with Divine values. Therefore, self-awareness as the Divine Image represents a transformative path toward spiritual and psychological perfection, embodying the ideal of insān kāmil (the Perfect Human). Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology has brought fundamental changes to the Indonesian legal system, including the mechanisms for registering and implementing mortgage rights. This modernization is realized through the implementation of Electronic Mortgage Rights (HT-el) as stipulated in the Regulation of the Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency Number 5 of 2020, as a follow-up to Law Number 4 of 1996 concerning Mortgage Rights. The main objective of implementing this system is to increase efficiency, transparency, and legal certainty in land services. However, behind this progress, important questions arise regarding how this legal modernization can remain aligned with moral values, justice, and the welfare of the people from the perspective of maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah. This study uses a normative juridical method with a statutory, analytical, and conceptual approach. The results show that the digitalization of mortgage rights through HT-el is not only a technical innovation, but also a form of legal adaptation to current developments that is oriented towards the welfare (maslahah). The principles of hifz al-mal (protection of property) and hifz al-‘adl (upholding justice) are reflected in the guarantee of data security, service efficiency, and protection of the rights of the parties. Thus, the implementation of HT-el can be seen as a manifestation of legal modernization that prioritizes not only administrative effectiveness but also the values of substantive justice and social welfare, as emphasized in the maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah. Abstract

The exploration of religious coping and spiritual well-being among the youth in Indonesia, the world's largest Muslim-majority country, is of particular significance due to its unique socio-cultural and religious landscape. College students in Indonesia face significant academic and developmental pressures, yet a comprehensive understanding of how religious coping specifically influences Islamic spiritual well-being in this demographic remains underexplored. This study aimed to systematically investigate the relationship between religious coping and Islamic spiritual well-being among Indonesian Muslim college students. A quantitative, correlational design was employed. A convenience sample of 398 Muslim college students in Indonesia was recruited. Participants completed self-report measures assessing their use of religious coping strategies and their level of Islamic spiritual well-being. Data were analyzed using Pearson correlation to examine the relationship between the two primary variables. The analysis revealed a statistically significant, strong positive correlation between religious coping and Islamic spiritual well-being, r(396) = .763, p < .001. This indicates that higher levels of religious coping were strongly associated with greater reported Islamic spiritual well-being among the participants. The findings underscore the pivotal role of religious coping as a significant factor associated with the spiritual well-being of Muslim college students in Indonesia. This suggests that culturally sensitive interventions and support systems within higher education that foster positive religious coping mechanisms may be highly effective in promoting holistic student development. To further enhance our understanding, future research should employ longitudinal designs to examine causality and investigate the potential mediating role of specific coping strategies in well-being outcomes. Abstract

he development of deepfake technology presents significant challenges to digital ethics in Islam. Its ability to generate human images and voices that closely resemble reality has blurred the boundaries between truth and falsehood. This raises serious ethical concerns regarding fundamental Islamic values such as ṣidq (honesty), amānah (responsibility), and ʿadl (justice). In the digital sphere, visual deception not only distorts information but also undermines social trust and human dignity. This article seeks to examine the phenomenon of deepfake through Peter-Paul Verbeek’s theory of technological mediation ethics, which views technology not merely as a tool but as something that participates in shaping the ways humans think and act morally. Using a library research method, this analysis demonstrates that deepfake technology can serve as a useful medium for da‘wah (religious propagation) and education when used with good intentions, yet it can also become a source of fitnah (slander) and fasād (corruption) when misused. Therefore, Islamic digital ethics must be directed not only toward assessing the legality of human actions but also toward cultivating awareness that technology itself influences moral decision-making. This awareness of mediation is expected to guide Muslims to uphold the values of truth, justice, and responsibility of technology. Keywords: Islamic Digital Ethics, Deepfake, Technological Mediation

Abstract

This study examines how identity is performed and deliberation sustained in public reactions to Indonesia’s 2024 presidential debate (Round Three) on YouTube. Grounded in Social Identity Theory (SIT), the study analyzes comments from two official streams, TVRI and KPU, using a transparent, event-anchored text-mining pipeline in Voyant: word frequency profiling, collocation mapping, topic segmentation with dictionary scoring, and KWIC-based frame diagnostics. The current research operationalizes deliberative emphasis via a topic-conditioned civics–morality ratio contrasting civic-institutional vocabulary (e.g., konstitusi, DPR, KPU, prosedur) with moral–absolutist tokens (e.g., halal/haram, kafir, dosa, benar/salah). Results are consistent across tools. Collocation networks are leader-centric and role/ticket-forward, with weak coupling between religious labels and candidate names. Topic panels diverge by venue: TVRI concentrates virtue predicates and salutations with only episodic institutional references, yielding a low civics–morality ratio; KPU is saturated with institutional and process terms, producing a high ratio. KWIC corroborates this split. TVRI windows around candidate tokens are dominated by acclamation/attack and scoreboard talk, while KPU windows embed address forms within rule-following, evidence, and programmatic language (e.g., aturan, bukti, data, program, prinsip). The study concludes that, during this debate, identity talk on YouTube was personalized rather than confessional or party-fused, and deliberative emphasis was contingent on institutional framing: the electoral authority’s channel scaffolded procedural reasoning, whereas the broadcaster’s thread incentivized expressive partisanship. The civics–morality ratio, conditioned by topics and triangulated with KWIC and collocation, offers an interpretable, reproducible indicator for assessing event-time discourse quality in platformed political talk. Abstract

This study aims to describe the development of innovative learning for religious moderation through creative media in response to the widespread dissemination of online information, including intolerant religious messages. Creative media-based learning has become an essential strategy to instill the values of moderation in an engaging, contextual, and relevant manner for the digital generation. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach to systematically depict the creative and innovative learning practices used to promote religious moderation education. The study was conducted in Kendari City, Southeast Sulawesi Province, focusing on MAN 1 Kendari and SMAN 4 Kendari, with creative subject teachers as the primary unit of analysis. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings reveal that teachers utilize various forms of creative learning media, including: Visual media, such as presentation slides, pamphlets, charts, modules, comic books, and role-playing; Audio media, including voice note recordings; Audio-visual media, such as short educational videos and documentary films; Online application media, including Microsoft Office 365, Madrasah e-Learning, Google Classroom, Google Meet, Zoom Meeting, and WhatsApp. The integration of religious moderation values through these media is primarily implemented in subjects such as Islamic Religious Education, Sociology, History, and Civics (PPKn). The findings indicate that the use of creative media enhances student engagement, strengthens tolerance, and makes religious moderation learning more meaningful and appealing in the digital era.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the dynamics of Piil Pesenggiri values in coastal Lampung communities, particularly in Krui, and their potential for revitalization in the digital era. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis to gain a deep understanding of social practices, cultural values, and changes occurring in the community. The results show that Piil Pesenggiri remains a foundation of ethics and social solidarity, despite experiencing a shift in meaning due to the penetration of digital culture. Core values such as bejuluk be-adok, nemui nyimah, nengah nyappur, and sakai sambayan adapt to online interactions, forming new forms of cultural practices relevant to the younger generation. Value revitalization occurs through culture-based character education, digital media, and creative community initiatives that emphasize honor, social responsibility, and solidarity across identities. In conclusion, Piil Pesenggiri not only survives as a cultural heritage but also transforms into an adaptive value system that enables Lampung communities to maintain their collective identity while adapting to the demands of modernity and digitalization.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze lecturers’ reflective teaching practices in integrating Minangkabau cultural values into the learning process within the Islamic Library and Information Science Program (IPII) at UIN Mahmud Yunus Batusangkar, as well as to examine Generation Z students’ perceptions of the implementation of these values. The urgency of this research arises from the ethical and cultural identity challenges faced by students in the digital era, where the dominance of technology often displaces social and spiritual values. This study employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through observations, in-depth interviews with lecturers and students, and document analysis, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model. The findings reveal that IPII lecturers perceive Minangkabau cultural values—such as Adat Basandi Syarak, Syarak Basandi Kitabullah and Kato Nan Ampek—as ethical, moral, and local identity guidelines that remain relevant to the learning context. The integration of these values was carried out reflectively through Case-Based Learning, Project-Based Learning, and Reflective Learning approaches, in which students were engaged in contextual activities such as cultural documentary projects. This integration positively influenced students’ character development, particularly in aspects of politeness, social responsibility, and academic communication ethics.Nevertheless, several challenges were identified, including the heterogeneity of students’ cultural backgrounds and the limited internalization of values in daily behavior. The study highlights that the integration of Minangkabau cultural values is not merely a means of preserving local wisdom but also a character education strategy grounded in reflection, aimed at strengthening the identity and morality of Generation Z students in Islamic higher education. Recommendations emphasize the importance of reinforcing culturally-based curricula and implementing adaptive reflective learning models in response to the dynamics of the digital era.
