Abstract

The digital preservation of regional history in the modern era requires innovative approaches to bridge the gap between traditional archives and user accessibility. This study presents the development and evaluation of the Panglima Mayu ChatBot, a specialized Large Language Model (LLM) designed to enhance historical literacy regarding the 18th-century Sumbawa Sultanate. The chatbot was developed using a prompt engineering approach based on curated historical materials and a culturally grounded system prompt to ensure factual consistency and alignment with Adat Samawa values. Deployed on an autoscale server environment (2 vCPU / 4 GiB RAM), the system was evaluated through a quantitative survey involving 45 respondents, including general users, students, and educators. The results indicate positive technical and educational perceptions. the system achieved a 97.8% satisfaction rate for accessibility and speed, while 84.4% of users reported increased insight into Islamic historical narratives. Crucially, 77.8% of respondents perceived the chatbot's responses as accurate, indicating a high level of user confidence in the information provided. However, these findings reflect perceived accuracy rather than expert-verified historical accuracy, which requires further validation by subject-matter experts. Furthermore, the system showed strong practical utility, with 73.3% of respondents endorsing the ChatBot as a viable quick reference for tourism and educational purposes. These findings suggest that grounded AI personas can successfully preserve cultural integrity—specifically Adat Samawa values—while providing an interactive alternative to traditional textbooks. This research provides a scalable framework for digitizing regional heroic narratives across Indonesia

Abstract

Many institutional libraries still rely on manual borrowing records, causing difficulties in transaction tracking, stock monitoring, and accurate fine calculation. This condition reduces service efficiency and increases the risk of data errors in library administration. To address this problem, this study develops an Android-based Library Book Borrowing System as a digital library management solution. The system was developed using a structured Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) approach consisting of analysis, design, implementation, and testing phases, employing the Java programming language and a locally embedded SQLite relational database. Unlike cloud-dependent approaches, the proposed system operates entirely without an internet connection, making it suitable for institutions with limited network infrastructure. The system encompasses five core modules: book management, member registration, borrowing and return transactions, automated fine computation, and reporting. A distinctive three-tier validation mechanism—comprising stock availability verification, membership status authentication, and outstanding fine arrear inspection—enforces transactional integrity and prevents unauthorized borrowing. Black-box testing confirmed that all 10 primary functional features achieved a 100% success rate. Media expert validation further affirmed the system's high feasibility for deployment as a fully operational digital library management solution.

Abstract

Students with multiple academic activities often have difficulty organizing class schedules, which results in missed sessions, incorrect room information, and overlapping course entries. Existing student scheduling applications mainly provide schedule recording and reminders, and studies that combine automatic conflict validation with offline local storage remain limited. This study aims to design and evaluate an offline Android-based academic scheduling system with an automated schedule conflict detection mechanism and a class reminder mechanism. The system was developed using the Waterfall model, which consists of requirement analysis, system design, implementation, testing, and evaluation. It uses a three-layer architecture, Create, Read, Update, and Delete (CRUD) operations on a persistent SQLite database, a conflict validation query that compares the day and time range of a new entry with stored schedules, and reminders scheduled through Android's AlarmManager. Black-box functional testing with four scenarios showed that all scenarios passed: valid schedules were saved, invalid time input was rejected, overlapping schedules were blocked with a warning, and reminder alarms were registered in the Android system to trigger a local notification 15 minutes before class. These results indicate that the proposed system prevents scheduling input errors without requiring an internet connection. The system provides a practical basis for student time management, and future work should include user acceptance testing, cloud synchronization, and schedule export.

Abstract

Elementary science learning is often reported to offer limited interactive visualization, which can reduce students' attention and engagement. This study aims to design, develop, and evaluate a Scratch-based self-paced Interactive Learning Media (MPI) on the butterfly life cycle for fourth-grade students at SDN Nggembe. To limit extraneous cognitive load, the media applies self-paced learning through static illustrations, concise instructional text, and user-controlled navigation buttons (Play, Next, Back, and Menu) that prevent automatic slide transitions. The study followed a researcher-designed four-stage development framework consisting of planning, design (interaction flow and flowchart), implementation (block-based coding), and testing (functional testing and limited field testing). The resulting media comprises a start screen, main menu, topic selection, content screens, and a quiz module with automated instant feedback, in which each correct answer adds 25 points to the score. All predefined functional components were implemented and operated as designed. During limited field testing at SDN Nggembe, students reported that the self-paced navigation helped them follow the metamorphosis sequence comfortably and showed enthusiasm for the media. Learning gains and cognitive load were not measured directly and should be examined in further studies.

Abstract

This study proposes a Hybrid Machine Learning Framework for purchase decision analysis by integrating the Bald Eagle Search (BES) algorithm with the K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN) classifier. The dataset consists of 500 respondents collected through survey instruments, with Social Media Marketing (SMM) and Word of Mouth Quality (WQ) serving as predictor features, while Purchase Perception (PP) items are aggregated to form the target variable. The rapid growth of digital marketing and social media has made indicators such as SMM, which reflects consumer engagement with online marketing activities, and WQ, which captures the credibility of peer recommendations, critical in influencing consumer trust and purchase behavior. To capture these nonlinear relationships, the framework applies systematic data preparation, preprocessing with SMOTE balancing and standardization, and BES optimization to determine the optimal neighborhood size K for KNN. The dataset was split into training and testing subsets with an 80:20 ratio, resulting in 50 test samples used for evaluation each WOA-KNN and BES-KNN. The evaluation was conducted using accuracy, precision, recall, F1-score, and ROC curve analysis. Results show that the hybrid BES-KNN model achieved 96% accuracy, with precision, recall, and F1-score all at approximately 97.9%, indicating balanced and reliable classification performance; however, the moderate AUC value of 0.68 suggests that class imbalance and the distribution of prediction probabilities may have influenced discriminatory power, which explains the apparent inconsistency between high classification metrics and the ROC curve. This framework contributes to advancing machine learning applications in marketing analytics and provides a foundation for future research to refine feature selection and enhance discriminatory power
