DIEGESIS: Jurnal Teologi Kharismatika is an open-access, peer-reviewed, and nationally accredited journal managed and published by Institut Agama Kristen REAL Batam, Riau Islands, Indonesia. The journal is registered under ISSN 2685-3485 (online) and ISSN 2685-3515 (print) and publishes articles in both Indonesian and English. The primary focus of DIEGESIS is Pentecostal-Charismatic theology, approached from academic, interdisciplinary, and contextual perspectives. Its scope includes biblical and hermeneutical studies, church history, spirituality, and the relationship between theology and issues of society, culture, Christian education, psychology, and religions. DIEGESIS is nationally accredited at SINTA 2 level (Decree No. 295/C/C3/KPT/2026) for the 2025–2029 period. It is published twice a year, in June and December, and welcomes contributions from academics and theological practitioners, both nationally and internationally. All manuscripts that meet the submission requirements are evaluated by expert reviewers through a double-blind review process.

Abstract

Pastors and church leaders work as partner with the people of church in order to build God’s kingdom on earth. In reality, not all members of church are willing to participate in this service voluntarily. Paying attention to the strategic role of people in the church's development efforts, the attention of the leader in empowering church members needs to be done seriously so that church members can carry out their roles optimally in the life and work of the church. The hypothesis proposed in this study is that there is a significant influence between the pastor's leadership and the service motivation among the church members. The samples of this study are the GMI Baithani and GMI Efrata members, taken by random sampling technique. Data processing was assisted with SPSS 18 for Windows. The result of regression analysis of pastor’s leadership has significant effect to the service motivation of church members equal to 57% while 43% influenced by other factor.

Abstract

Evangelism is one of the key factors of church growth. A church’s recognition of the importance of evangelization always brings about an impact on the growth of a church; to its life and works. Accordingly, churches who recognize evangelization as crucial to their growth would consequently transform it into their personal, communal, and institutional priorities: Evangelization would be addressed seriously; all resources would be directed towards it; and all approaches, strategies, methods, and various types and scope of techniques would be employed to draw people to Christ. It was evident that any motivation and even the faintest competence can be used by God to bring many people to Christ, as long as they are directed to glorify the name of God. Furthermore, as a result of evangelization, the biological growth of churches occurs, either through relocation of church members or due to the conversion of souls at all times and places. In the same manner, churches grow in quality, quantity, in its complexities of evangelization, and are continuously renewed by the gospel, as well as experiencing unceasing growth. Evangelism is indeed the key feature of a church’s growth. Likewise, from the historical-theological perspective, evangelism also has a great impact on the growth of the church. The ups and downs of evangelism carried out by the church have therefore been an indicator of the church’s growth. The paper finally argues that without evangelization, the growth of a church will not transpire, and ultimately, churches who grow are churches who evangelize.AbstrakPenginjilan merupakan salah satu faktor penentu pertumbuhan gereja. Kesadaran akan hal ini membuat gereja memahami perlunya penginjilan dalam segala aspek kehidupan dan karyanya.  Sehingga penginjilan menjadi prioritasnya baik secara personal, komunal maupun institusional.  Penginjilan akan ditangani dengan sangat serius. Segala sumber daya yang dimiliki akan diarahkan untuk penginjilan. Mereka akan menggunakan berbagai macam pendekatan, strategi, metode dan tehnik penginjilan dengan aneka ragam bentuk dan ruang lingkupnya.  Motivasi apapun dan kompetensi yang lemah sekalipun, bisa dipakai Tuhan untuk membawa banyak orang kepada Kristus. Pertumbuhan gereja secara biologis atau karena perpindahan anggota gereja atau karena pertobatan jiwa-jiwa baru terjadi pada segala waktu dan tempat.  Pertumbuhan gereja secara kualitas, kuantitas maupun kompleksitas organisasinya merupakan hasil dari penginjilan yang dilakukannya. Gereja senantiasa diperbaharui oleh Injil dan oleh karenanya gereja senantiasa mengalami pertumbuhan.Penginjilan adalah kunci pertumbuhan gereja.  Dalam perspektif historis-teologis, penginjilan mempunyai pengaruh yang besar bagi pertumbuhan gereja. Oleh karena itu, tinggi rendahnya penginjilan yang dilakukan gereja selalu menjadi indikator bertumbuh tidaknya gereja. Sebab penginjilan akan mendorong pertumbuhan gereja. Sedangkan gereja yang bertumbuh tentu akan melakukan penginjilan.

Abstract

Lately the topic of "grace" has also become a discussion and debate which is being discussed in the church environment. The term is also commonly called "modern grace" or "grace reform". The term is used by a number of teachers or characters in explaining their theological understanding of grace which they consider to be a new revelation of grace. The teaching of the gospel of grace does not refer to a particular church, but rather to theological teaching or understanding that is spreading very quickly to various churches throughout the world. There are some figures who write a number of books in their books describing the gospel teaching of grace, some of which are well-known and influential are Paul Ellis, Joseph Prince, Steve McVey, Clark Whitten and other gospel instructors of grace. Joseph Prince cannot be denied as one of these "grace" teachers who also influences the views of Christians in Singapore, America and Indonesia. AbstrakBelakangan ini topik mengenai “anugerah” (grace) juga menjadi diskusi dan perdebatan yang marak dibicarakan di lingkungan gereja. Istilahnya biasa juga disebut “kasih karunia modern” atau “Reformasi kasih karunia”. Istilah tersebut digunakan oleh sejumlah pengajar atau tokoh dalam menjelaskan pemahaman teologi mereka mengenai kasih karunia yang mereka anggap sebagai pewahyuan baru mengenai kasih karunia. Pengajaran tentang injil kasih karunia bukan merujuk kepada suatu gereja tertentu, tetapi lebih kepada pengajaran atau pemahaman teologi yang sedang merebak dengan sangat cepat ke berbagai gereja di seluruh dunia. Ada beberapa tokoh yang menulis sejumlah buku yang di dalam buku mereka menjelaskan pengajaran injil kasih karunia, beberapa diantaranya yang terkenal dan berpengaruh adalah Paul Ellis, Joseph Prince, Steve McVey, Clark Whitten dan pengajar injil kasih karunia lainnya. Tidak dapat disangkal Joseph Prince sebagai salah satu pengajar “anugerah” ini yang juga mempengaruhi pandangan orang-orang Kristen di Singapura, Amerika dan Indonesia.

Abstract

Mission is an integral part of Christianity. The activities of the western world mission that have sent 164 years of missionaries to the land of Papua have no impact on Papua. The existence of the church of God in the land of Papua also has no impact and significance for the people of Papua. Papua lost its identity as a gospel land. The high level of Islamization, the low level of education, and the high level of poverty makes it necessary for Papua to be helped. Papua is calling as Macedonia calls in the millennium. AbstrakMisi merupakan bagian yang integral dengan agama Kristen. Kegiatan misi dunia barat yang sudah mengutus misionari 164 tahun ke tanah  Papua, tidak membaw dampak bagi Papua Keberadaan gereja Tuhan di tanah papua juga tidak membawa dampak dan berarti bagi penduduk papua. Papua kehilangan jati diri sebagai tanah injil. Tingginya islamisasi, rendahnya tingkat pendidikan dan tingginya kemiskinan membuat papua perlu di tolong. Papua sedang memanggil seperti Panggilan Macedonia di jaman millennium.

Abstract

Cremation is the practice of removing human corpses after death by burning a corpse, usually carried out in a crematorium. With the development of technology, cremation is no longer synonymous with traditional ceremonies that use firewood so it requires a long time. The purpose of this study was to determine the perceptions of pastors at the Pentecostal Church in Indonesia regarding cremation practices. After carrying out theological studies with a literary approach, it is considered that if God wants a special way of handling the body, He will state, either in the Old Testament or the New Testament. This study uses a qualitative approach, with an interview instrument. The result of this research is that some shepherds cannot accept cremation, assuming that cremation is contrary to the teachings of the Bible, but there are those who think that cremation is not in conflict with God's Word.AbstrakKremasi adalah Praktik penghilangan jenazah manusia setelah meninggal, dengan cara mem-bakar mayat, biasanya dilakukan di krematorium. Dengan perkembangan teknologi, kremasi tidak lagi identik dengan upacara tradisional yang memakai kayu bakar sehingga memerlukan waktu yang penjang. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui persepsi gembala-gembala sidang Gereja Pantekosta di Indonesia tentang praktik kremasi. Setelah melakukan kajian teologis dengan pendekatan literatur, maka dipertimbangkan bahwa jika Tuhan menghendaki suatu cara yang khusus dalam menangani jenazah, Ia akan menyatakan, entah dalam Perjanjian Lama atau Perjanjian Baru. Penelitian ini mengunakan metode pendekatan kualitatif, dengan instrumen wawancara. Hasil dari penelitian adalah, ada beberapa gembala tidak dapat menerima kremasi, bersasumsi bahwa kremasi bertentangan dengan ajaran Alkitab, namun ada juga yang beranggapan bahwa kremasi tidak betentangan dengan Firman Allah.

Abstract

The Practical Jesus Interpreted the ToraThe central position of the Torah in the Gospels needs to be understood from the way Jesus taught the Torah and the results for establishing the purpose of the Torah. Starting from the response of the scribes or Pharisees interpreted the existence of contradictions in Jesus' ministry regarding the violation of the Torah. Without knowing the context, we cannot know the current debate between Jesus and the scribes and Pharisees. This paper aims to analyze and describe Jesus' actions not as violations but rather than reinterpreting the true Torah.AbstrakPosisi sentral Torah dalam Injil perlu dipahami dari cara Yesus mengajarkan Taurat dan hasil untuk menetapkan maksud Taurat. Bertolak dari tanggapan para ahli taurat atau orang farisi memaknai adanya kontradiksi dalam pelayanan Yesus mengenai pelanggaran Torah. Tanpa mengetahui konteksnya, kita tidak bisa mengetahui perdebatan yang terjadi pada saat itu antara Yesus dengan para ahli taurat dan orang farisi. Tulisan ini Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dan menggambarkan aksi Yesus bukan sebagai pelanggaran tetapi lebih dari kepada menafsir ulang Torah secara utuh.

Abstract

This paper aims to describe the religion of the Israelite ancestors. The problem discussed in this paper is which God the Israelite ancestors worshiped. The approach is to analyze several sources of the Old Testament relating to Israelite religion. Even though the three Semitic religions of Judaism, Christianity and Islam worship the same God "El/ Allah", that does not mean that all three teachings are the same. The teachings are different because the beliefs of the three are based on tradition and the scriptures (which are considered each as a revelation) are different about the same 'El / Allah'. AbstrakTulisan ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan religi para bapak leluhur Israel. Masalah yang dibahas dalam tulisan ini adalah Tuhan manakah yang disembah para bapak leluhur Israel. Pendekatannya adalah menganalisis beberapa sumber Perjanjian Lama berkaitan dengan agama Israel. Sekalipun ketiga agama Semitik Yahudi, Kristen dan Islam menyembah Tuhan El/Allah yang sama, itu tidak berarti bahwa semua pengajaran/aqidah ketiganya sama. Pengajaran/aqidah berbeda karena kepercayaan ketiganya didasarkan tradisi dan kitab suci (yang dianggap masing-masing sebagai wahyu) berbeda mengenai El/Allah yang sama itu.

Abstract

This research discusses Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender and pastoral services carried out by the church in helping people to know God's Love. In this study, the author examines pastoral care to deal with lesbian gay bisexual transgender in the Jemaat Kristen Indonesia Oikos Pelangi Kasih church. With descriptive qualitative research method using literature review and field data. Perform well the function guiding, supporting function, healing function, restoring function and maintenance function will really help the lesbian gay bisexual transgender people to experience recovery and know the truth of God’s word. AbstrakPenelitian ini membahas seputar Lesbian, Gay, Bisex, Transgender dan pelayanan pastoral yang dilakukan oleh gereja dalam menolong orang-orang untuk mengalami kasih Tuhan. Pada pene-litian ini, penulis meneliti tentang pelayanan pastoral untuk menangani kaum lesbian, gay, bisex, transgender di Gereja Jemaat Kristen Indonesia Oikos Pelangi Kasih. Dengan metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif menggunakan kajian pustaka dan data lapangan. Melakukan dengan baik fungsi membimbing, fungsi  menopang, fungsi menyembuhkan, fungsi memulikan dan fungsi memelihara akan sangat membantu kaum lesbian gay bisex dan transgender untuk mengalami pemulihan dan mengenalkan kebenaran firman Tuhan

Abstract

Christology testifies notions in several Christian dogmatic. The ethics of the crucifixion of Christ, however, receive less attention. Consequently, the intention to share the knowledge of Christ in the cross being limited as it occupies theological reflection intensively. This article attempts to delve into the unseen ethics nature of the event of redemption, hospitality. Its characters are portrayed in several events in the scripture but rarely evaluated from the eye of Christology, especially speaking, the redemption of Christ in the cross. The intention of this treatise is; to explore the nature of hospitality in the display of cross that could be offered a new perspective to the theological environment and help the reader to see unseen knowledge.

Abstract

Christian faith recognizes the existence of the Holy Spirit as the divine person promised by Jesus. But not all Christians experience the involvement of the Holy Spirit in their lives. Whereas a person who is led by the Holy Spirit will experience spiritual growth, so that he lives according to God's truth and his life bears witness. This study aims to answer the question, what is the role of the Holy Spirit in the lives of believers in leading to all truth? This research is a library research using descriptive analysis method, with the Bible as the main source and support of reliable literature. The conclusion of this research is, first, the Holy Spirit makes the person he leads free from sin and intimidation from the evil one. Second, the Holy Spirit gives wisdom and understanding to know Jesus and live it at every step of the life journey. Third, the Holy Spirit leads to the whole truth of God, so that the person he guides avoids deception.
