Abstract

ABSTRACTThis reserach aims at evaluating and completing the curriculum of Electrical Engineering EducationDepartment, Faculty of Engineerinng, Yogyakarta State University to meet the need of stakeholders as well asthe development of science and technology. The method in investigating and developing the currriculum wasreferred to Indonesian National Qualification Framework for Electrical Engineering and Electrical EngineeringEducation. This study is a research evaluation on the implementation of curriculum with CIPP model. Thecurriculum development was using content analysis and discussion. The research result showed that, in general,the implementation of Curriculum 2009 for Electrical Engineering Education Department could be categorized as“appropriate” (Good) according to the respondents of lecturers or alumnae and “quite appropriate” accordingto the students. There were few weaknesses either the curriculum content or its implementation especially on theaspects of Input, Process, and Product. Based on the evaluation result on the curriculum implementation, IndonesianNational Qualification Framework as well as vision, mission and the purpose of Electrical Engineering EducationDepartment, it was found that both the draft for curriculum framework and the competence that should be masteredby the graduates of Electrical Engineering Education (Bachelor level) and Electrical Engineering (Diploma level)need to be reviewed and validated. Those actions should be conducted in order to produce a curriculum designwhich had relevance as well as adequate quality and usefulness for students, society, and corporate world.Keywords: curriculum,Indonesian National Qualification Framework (INQF)

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas (classroom action research) yang bertujuan (1) meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran mata kuliah matematika yang dinyatakan dalam bentuk aktivitas mahasiswa, (2) meningkatkan pretasi belajar mahasiswa yang dinyatakan dalam bentuk rerata nilai akhir semester yang berasal dari komponen nilai ujian sisipan (ujian tengah semester) dan nilai ujian akhir semester. Tahapan penelitian ini diawali dari penyusunan materi pembelajaran yang dikemas dalam sejumlah pokok bahasan tertentu dalam sebuah diktat kuliah, dilanjutkan dengan penyusunan soal-soal latihan bagi setiap pokok bahasan kemudian dilanjutkan dengan pemberian perlakuan dengan pembelajaran bertahap dan bermakna (proses eksplorasi, invensi, ekspansi). Penelitian dilakukan dengan 3 siklus. Selama pembelajaran dilakukan observasi terhadap aktivitas mahasiswa dan perubahan prestasinya. Perubahan prestasi mengacu pada prestasi perkuliahan yang pernah diikuti sebelumnya. Subyek penelitian ini adalah 50 orang mahasiswa yang mengambil matakuliah matematika pada semester pendek tahun 2003/2004 yang pernah mengikuti perkuliahan sama tapi dengan perlakukan yang berbeda. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pembelajaran matematika dengan pendekatan belajar bertahap dan bermakna dapat meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran maupun prestasi belajar mahasiswa. Aktivitas mahasiswa yang bertanya/ membantu teman dan tampil mengerjakan tugas di depan kelas meningkat dai 1 sampai 3 orang menjadi 4 sampai 10 orang. Mahasiswa yang mengerjakan tugas di rumah meningkat dari 80% menjadi 86% pada setiap perkuliahan, sedang prestasinya meningkat dari rerata nilai akhir 54,9 menjadi 70,5 (meningkat 28,4%)

Abstract

ABSTRACKResearch purpose is know student trouble in developing ability desain PCB and determine steps that shouldbe done to increase ability desain PCB.Research design use survey method and by descriptive quantitative and qualitative. Population are ElectronicsTechnical Education and Electronics Technical students that take subject Technical Drawing teaching year 2010 /2011 and 2011 / 2012. Total respondents 34 persons from population which amounted 80 persons. Instrument usedis closed and open quesioner.Research conclusion: the most difficult in draw component symbol is transformator fingered by 38,24%respondents. The most difficult in draw code position component at PCB is arrange component a type of fingeredby 38,24% respondents. The most difficult in design band PCB is determine band junction fingered by 41,67%respondents. Steps that should be done to increase very ability design PCB for student that is: should be careful,patient, dilligence, make skets, read guide, use elektronics symbol pattren, learn from example, discussion withfriend, consider component used and measure, and early mendesain in paper millimeters block.Keyword : PBI, PBC design

Abstract

This study describes perception of the supervisor teachers toward the skills of Yogyakarta State University students conducting Teaching Practicum at Vocational High Schools in Yogyakarta regency in the academic year of 2012/2013. This study was conducted using survey approach. The population were the teachers of the Industrial Technology program at Vocational High Schools in Yogyakarta regency. The results showed the perception toward the students’ skills in  high, average and low categories were 18.33%, 56.67% and 25% respectively. The reasons for the 25% of the low category were the students did not have sufficient experiences in teaching and did not completely master crucial components of the learning process, particularly in the opening stage

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran tentang jenis lapangan kerja, jababatan, lokasi penempatan, dan kualifikasi kerja lulusan teknik mesin berdasarkan data-data informasi lowongan kerja pada situs bursa kerja online. Penelitian ini juga bermaksud menganalisis factor-faktor yang berkaitan dengan peluang kerja lulusan teknik mesin. Penelitian ini termasuk penelitian deskriptif berdasarkan data kebutuhan lulusan teknik mesin pada situs kerja online. Populasi penelitian ini adalah semua informasi peluang kerja bagi lulusan teknik mesin periode 2007 yang terdapat pada situs bursa kerja online. Sampel dalam penelitian adalah informasi peluang kerja bagi lulusan teknik mesin periode 2007 yang terdapat pada situs bursa kerja www.InformasiKerja.com, www.Karir.com, www.JobDB.com, www.IndoJPB, dan www.Ekarir.com. Data dianalisis deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa : Hasil analisis deskriptif menunjukkan bahwa a) jenis pekerjaan yang ditawarkan untuk teknik mesin masih banyak pada bidang manufacturing yaitu sebanyak 34,2% b)jabatan yang ditawarkan untuk teknik mesin ada sekitar 103 jenis jabatan, dan yang paling banyak adalah jabatan sebagai mechanic engineer (74 lowongan kerja), c) lokasi penempatan masih dominan di Jawa (95,2%) dibanding dengan luar Jawa, dan hampir 67% permintaan pekerjaan ada di Jakarta, d) kualifikasi yang paling banyak dibutuhkan pada tingkat diploma (59,9%), dan sarjana hanya (31,6%), e) rata-rata perusahaan membutuhkan pelamar yang sudah mempunyai pengalaman kerja 3 tahun, f) perusahaan menuntut pelamar menguasai komputer sebesar 90% dan bahasa asing/Inggris 88,1%.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an e-module as a medium of learning for the practice course of Measuring Instruments and Measurement in the Department of Electronics Engineering Education of Yogyakarta State University and to determine the feasibility of the e-module. This study employed a method of research and development. The development process was conducted through four phases by using the model of Lee and Owens which consisted of analysis phase, design phase, developing and implementation phase, as well as evaluation phase.The evaluation was conducted in several stages. Firstly, an alpha test for product validation was conducted by the experts on material and media. After that, a beta test was conducted by testing the product in small group users. The subjects of this study were the students of Electronics Engineering. The instruments used to collect the data were a validation sheet and questionnaires. The results of qualitative data were then modified into quantitative data with a range of 1 to 5, then they were converted with a rating scale to determine the feasibility of the medium. The results showed that based on the alpha test, the medium was in a very high quality. Meanwhile, in the beta test of the instructional aspect, in terms of material and evaluation and the multimedia aspect the e-module was respectively considered feasible and quite feasible. The four indicators namely text, image, animation and video were all generally considered feasible. In terms of usage aspect, the e-module was considered feasible where its two indicators, namely instructions and navigation, were generally regarded as very feasible by all respondents.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kepuasan pelanggan terhadap kualitas jasa service di bengkel sepeda motor Prototipe Honda serta faktor-faktor yang perlu ditingkatkan untuk meningkatkan kepuasan pelanggan tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survey dan dilakukan terhadap pelanggan bengkel sepeda motor Prototipe Honda yang terletak di Jalan Gejayan Gg. Komojoyo No. 28 Yogyakarta. Teknik pengambilan data menggunakan metode aksidental. Sampel yang diperoleh sebanyak 75 orang yang dianggap mampu mewakili dari seluruh populasi. Pengambilan data menggunakan kuisoner dan metode wawancara. Teknik analisis yang digunakan adalah teknik deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian ini menemukan bahwa kepuasan pelanggan terhadap kualitas jasa servis sepeda motor di bengkel Prototipe Honda FT UNY termasuk dalam kategori baik (dengan rerata skor 2,96 dari nilai maksimal rerata skor 4,00) yang digali melalui 18 butir pernyataan dari angket penelitian. Sedangkan faktor-faktor yang perlu dikembangkan untuk kemajuan bengkel adalah kenyamanan dari ruang tunggu, penambahan jumlah mekanik,  keseragaman dari pakaian kerja/wearpak mekanik, memperbanyak bacaan, peningkatan kemampuan mekanik, penambahan spare part, kebersihan bengkel, serta memperbanyak promosi.

Abstract

Lawang Sewu is one of the Dutch colonial heritage building in Indonesia that has unique architecture as the main attraction. This building is located in Semarang, Central Java, Indonesia. Potentials of Lawang Sewu has not been conveyed due to lack of recognition efforts to society. One of the effort that can be done is to utilize virtual reality (VR) technology to provide information and enhance tourist objects. Virtual reality allows the user to interact with virtual objects as if in real life. This paper discusses about making virtual reality application which is applied as a means of introducing Lawang Sewu. This study was categorized as research and development (RD). This application runs on mobile devices running on android operating system equipped with gyroscope sensors. This application must be accompanied with an enhancement of VR cardboards. Virtual reality allows users to view and interact virtually with tourism object. The purpose of making this application is to introduce about Lawang Sewu for all of people especially students.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan: (1) memperoleh gambaran umum mengenai penyelenggaraan pendidikan pada dan (2) mengidentifikasi kendala-kendala yang dialami SMK RSBI di Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta dalam mengimplementasikan program pendidikan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian evaluasi yang dilakukan pada enam SMK Negeri RSBI. Disain evaluasi yang diacu adalah discrepancy model. Pengumpulan data menggunakan angket dan wawancara. Uji validitas instrumen didasarkan pada validitas isi, yang dilakukan melalui rational judgment. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah deskriptif, baik secara kuantitatif maupun kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara umum penyelenggaraan pendidikan pada SMK RSBI di DIY belum sesuai dengan standar penyelenggaraan SMK RSBI yang telah ditetapkan. Kelemahan terutama dalam pemenuhan indikator kinerja kunci tambahan (IKKT), yang meliputi semua aspek. Kendala yang dialami oleh SMK RSBI antara lain: (a) belum diperolehnya akreditasi dari sekolah mitra yang bertaraf internasional; (b) sekolah belum mampu membangun jejaring internasional; (c) SKL tambahan yang disusun belum memiliki acuan yang jelas; (d) proses pembelajaran belum sesuai dengan standar RSBI; (e) sekolah belum menerapkan model penilaian dari salah satu sekolah yang bertaraf internasional; (f) persentase pendidik yang berkualifikasi S2/S3 sangat rendah; (g) sebagian besar kepala sekolah belum berkualifikasi S2, dan kurang menguasai bahasa Inggris secara aktif; (h) belum diterapkannya TIK dalam manajemen sekolah; (i) keterbatasan sarana dan prasarana sesuai dengan standar RSBI; dan (j) ketersediaan dana penyelenggaraan pendidikan yang kurang memadai serta dukungan pemerintah daerah yang lemah.

Abstract

One of the student-centered learning methods which is able to improve the students’ learning outcomes is Problem-Based Learning (PBL). This study examined (1) the difference in the learning results of students using PBL and Direct Teaching (DT) with high and low learning motivation and creativity, (2) the influence of learning methods with motivation and creativity toward learning outcomes, and (3) the difference in the learning results of students using PBL and DT in terms of learning motivation and creativity. The subject consisted of students of Vocational High Schools or Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan N 1 Ngawen. The data analysis used an ANOVA test and a T-test. The results revealed (1) insignificantly different  learning outcomes between the use of PBL and DT, (2) insignificantly different learning outcomes with the significance of 0.652 between students with high and low motivation, (3) significantly different learning outcomes with the significance of 0.039 between students with high and low creativity, (4) influence of the interaction between learning methods with learning motivation to the  learning outcomes, (5) influence of the interaction between learning methods with creativity to the learning outcomes, (6) insignificantly different  learning outcomes between students using PBL and DT in terms of learning motivation, and (7) insignificantly different learning outcomes between students using PBL and DT in terms of creativity.
