Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe students writing mathematical communication of high-ability (ST), medium (SS), low (SR) in solving problem. The research data was obtained by analyzing the answer sheets of three subjects based on writing mathematical communication indicators. The result of this research are, (1) ST can write what is known and asked, construct Venn diagram and do the calculation correctly, (2) SS can write what is known and asked, construct Venn diagram and do the calculation of problem 2 correctly, but on problem 3 SS still make any mistake on constructing Venn diagram and doing the calculation, (3) SR can write what is known and asked, but SR has not made Venn diagram and done the calculation appropriately.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to describe the students’ errors in solving system of equations in three variable problems based on Newman’s Error Analysis. Research subject is students grade X Madrasah Aliyah Al Irtiqo’ who make errors in solving SPLTV problems. The method of this research is test and interviews. The result of this research showed that there are six types of error made by students when solving SPLTV problems. Such errors are reading error, comprehenssion error, transformation error, process skill error, encoding error, and carelless error. The most common error found in this study were transformation, process skill, and encoding.

Abstract

The development of project-based learning design with the LEAD series (Listen, Explore, Analyze and Do) aided the schoology to answer the problems of the subjects of workshop and entrepreneurship which aimed to print the students as entrepreneur owner. The research method used to develop the learning design is Dick, Carey and Carey (2015). Based on the validation percentage of 91.25% material experts, 90% design learning experts, and 97.5% of media experts, field trials of 92.83% means that instructional design and instructional media are appropriate for learning. While the results of effectiveness test all test subjects as many as 30 including Adversity Quotient categories are climbers.

Abstract

Basic Natural Science Course is a compulsory course in every Social Studies Program, so it needs the development of appropriate teaching materials and can be used in the long term. The characteristics of students in social studies programs are mostly graduates from the Vocational High School which is basic about the knowledge of Natural Science is still minimal, this condition requires the professor must be creative and innovative in preparing the teaching materials so that the specified competency standards are achieved. The development model used is Dick & Carrey's development model. The result of this development model is a valid teaching material.

Abstract

This research and developmentaims to produce and reveal the eligibility attitudes and psychomotoric skills assessment instruments on acid base, acid base titration, hydrolysis of salt, and buffer solution. The steps of research and development which is used (1) study of literature; (2) field survey; (3) drafting instruments; (4) limited field-testing; (5) revision of the field test result; (6) further field-testing; (7) revision offinal product; (8) dissemination and implementation. The result of content validation showed that the attitudes and psychomotoric skills assessment instruments “very decent” with average percentage of 97,3% and 91,5%. The limited field testing results showed that the attitudes assessment instrument “valid” and “reliable”. Interpretation test of psychomotoric skills assessment instruments appropriate/accurate to use and easy to understand.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the implementation of learning process and student cognitive learning outcomes on buffer material materials using Learning Cycle model 5E-mind mapping and Learning Cycle 5E learning model. This research uses experimental quasi design with posttest only control group design model. The population of this study is all students of grade XI IPA SMAN 5 Malang. The sample of research is class XI G4 as experimental class which was taught by Learning Cycle 5E-mind mapping and class XI F4 as control class which was taught by Learning Cycle 5E. Instruments used in the study include learning instruments (Syllabus, RPP, and LKS) and measurement instruments (Daily Deuteration and Observation Sheets). The results showed that the implementation of Learning Cylce 5E-Mind mapping model has an average of 93.76% and Learning Cycle 5E of 92.90% and there are differences in cognitive learning outcomes among students who are taught by Learning Cycle 5E-Mind Mapping and Learning Cycle 5E. The average cognitive learning outcomes of students who were taught by Learning Cycle 5E-Mind Mapping was 81.13, higher than students who were taught by Learning Cycle 5E that is equal to 75.16.

Abstract

This study aims to find out the effect of PBL with procedural scaffolding toward high-order thinking skills in terms of students' high and low ability. This research used non equivalent control group design with 34 students of experimental class and 35 students of control class. The hypothesis test of this study used Two-Way ANOVA and showed that the effect of PBL with procedural scaffolding was 42.5%, while the effect of students' initial ability was 37.9%. The mean posttest grade of the experimental class is higher than the control class, indicating that PBL with procedural scaffolding affects students' high-order thinking skill.

Abstract

Physics learning need to train ability that scientists can apply in developing knowledge, that is scientific argumentation ability. Scientific argumentation ability is very important in preparing students who are literate in science. Unfortunately founded in field scientific argumentation ability students still low. Scientific argumentation ability students mean in first level (unsupported) and second level (phenomenological).
