Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the use of comics as a media in mathematics learning. This research was conducted in home schooling "Sekolah Dolan" Malang with research subjects is students of class VII. The data collection of this study uses questionnaire about media selection, questionnaires about student response and unstructured interviews. The percentage of the results media selection questionnaire obtained as much as 55% of students chose to use comics as learning media and the percentage of student responses questionnaires obtained 88.58% responses of students are positive to use comics. Based on the assessment category, it was concluded that comics were effectively used as learning media. This is because comics contain many colors and images and when changing learning material into comics, the material will become easier because the material is delivered in the daily conversation.

Abstract

This research is aimed at explaining the effect of outdoor study learning model assisted by video conference toward the learners’ scientific writing competence. This research used quasi experiment with two groups, they are experiment class and control class. The subjects of this research were geography learners FIS university of Negeri Malang in the academic year 2019/2020 which consisted of two classes, experiment class contained 39 learners, meanwhile control class contained 37 learners. The technique that was used to determine the class was purposive sampling. The factorial design 2x3 was also used in this research. The data was analysed by using two way anova. The results show the significant value of hypothesis test by using two way anova as large as 0,035<0,05 which meant there was an effect of outdoor study learning model assisted by video conference toward the learners’ scientific writing competence.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to produce a product in the form of a multicultural awareness training package for students who meet the criteria for product acceptance that covers aspects of usability, feasibility, accuracy and attractiveness. This procedure of research and development uses a research model and development of Borg & Gall. The test results showed that the guidance and counseling expert obtained an index of validity of 0.77 (moderate), material experts obtained an index of validity of 0.89 (high), experts in learning media obtained an index of validity of 0.90 (high), and prospective users obtained validity index of 0.89 (high), so it can be concluded that the product of multicultural awareness training package has met the criteria for product acceptance, so it is feasible to be used in training activities.

Abstract

This research is related to economic morality from the perspective of Bugis-Makassar local wisdom in economics education students at Makassar State University. Data in this study were collected based on documentation studies, in-depth interviews, and observations. Data analysis uses three processes, namely data condensation, data presentation, and data verification. Checking the validity of the findings was carried out with a credibility test with the stages of triangulation and extension of observation. Data analysis found morality in the perspective of Bugis-Makassar local wisdom, namely honesty, concern for others, and shame. The implications of the attitude on economic morality towards economic behavior are adherence to the rules of economic institutions, reminder and reduce economic disparity among UNM economic education students.

Abstract

Speaking ability is one of the aspect in language development, which is vital to be planted since young age. The purpose of this research are (1) to describe the role playing practice in order to elevate the speaking ability of Group A in TK Ananda Kota Batu, (2) to describe the enhancement of speaking ability of Group A through role playing practice in TK Ananda Kota Batu. This research used “Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (Classroom Action Research). This research utilize 2 cycle of data processing which allows each data is processed using qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis. The result of this research shows that there is an increase of speaking ability for child from cycle I to cycle II.

Abstract

Thematic learning carried out in elementary schools has not trained students' high-level thinking skills as a whole due to the use of learning models that tend to be monotonous and make students bored. This study aims to determine the effect of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model on HOTS (Higher Order Thinking Skillls). The research method used is quantitative experiments with the design of nonequivalent group design. The results showed that the teacher's implementation was sufficient in accordance with the syntax of the PBL learning model so that it could influence HOTS students. The difference in HOTS scores between the two classes is indicated by the average post-test scores. The use of PBL models should be implemented for students to be able to train HOTS students.

Abstract

The aim of research was to determine the need for multimedia based on Problem Based Learning in biological matter. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The method used is in the form of a questionnaire (questionnaire). Questionnaires were given to 67 students of SMAN 1 Way Jepara in August 2017. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis. The results indicates that 67.2% of students stated that the material immune system was considered the most difficult, 93.3% of students wanted the development of new learning media, 54% of students wanted interactive multimedia. The conclusion of this study is that it is necessary to develop learning media in the form of interactive multimedia based on Problem Based Learning in the XI class immune system material.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of PBL with thinking map on the mastery of the concept and students' scientific literacy in digestive system material, additives and addictive substances, and respiratory system in human. This quantitative study involved 94 students consisting of 3 classes, namely 31 students of class VIII C, 31 students of class VIII E and 32 students of class VIII A SMP Negeri 5 Jombang academic year 2018/2019. The results showed PBL assisted thinking map effective on mastering the concept of content dimensions and against scientific literacy in digestive system material, additives and addictive substances, and the respiratory system. The results of statistical tests showed that there were differences in the mastery of concepts and scientific literacy skills before and after using PBL assisted by thinking map on digestive system material, additives and addictive substances, and the respiratory system. The conclusion of this study is that problem-based learning assisted by thinking map has an effect on both mastery of science concepts and science literacy so that students are effectively used in junior high school on digestive system material, additives and addictive substances, and the respiratory system.

Abstract

Analogy reasoning ability is the ability of students to connect two problems. Students' ability to overcome problems can be seen from Adversity quotient (AQ), one type of AQ is the climber. This study aims to identify the analogy reasoning of climber type students. The instruments used in this study were test questions and interviews. The results of this study in solving the problem of climber type students try hard to identify important information in the problem, determine the problem solving strategy based on similarity relationships to solve the problem between two problems and apply in solving problems to find problem solving.

Abstract

The purpose of this development research is to produce a problem-based learning insects community ecology textbook that meet the requirements for validity and practicality. The development model used is the ADDIE model which consists of analyze, design, develop, implement, and evaluate. the primary data in this research obtained from validity questionnaires and practicality. The results of the research showed that the validation of material experts scored 93.33% with a very valid category. Validation from media experts showed a score of 95% with a very valid category. Validation from field practitioners gained a score of 75% with a practical category, and the results of trials from students obtained a score of 82.78% with a very practical category.
