Abstract

This article aims to systematically review literature related to the role of digital leadership in driving organizational transformation in the era of technological disruption. This research employs a literature review method by collecting and analyzing scientific articles from various indexed databases, such as Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar, published between 2019-2024. The inclusion criteria encompass articles relevant to digital leadership and organizational transformation themes in both public and private sectors. The review findings indicate that digital leadership significantly contributes to the success of organizational transformation by strengthening digital vision, enhancing change management, and increasing innovation capacity. Digital leaders are required to possess competencies in technology, collaborative communication, and adaptive change management. However, digital leadership implementation also faces challenges such as organizational culture resistance, digital infrastructure limitations, and a lack of technological literacy at leadership levels. This study recommends the need for developing digital leadership models that align with local contexts and sectoral characteristics to comprehensively enhance digital transformation effectiveness.

Abstract

Background: Indonesia is a disaster-prone region, yet existing disaster mitigation education media are often unengaging and lack contextual relevance for young children. Objectives: This study aimed to develop an interactive storybook entitled "Children's Disaster Mitigation Preparedness" (SiMBA), integrating local folklore with digital technology as a disaster mitigation education tool for elementary school students in grades 1–3. Method: This study employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). Validation was conducted by three experts in educational psychology, disaster content, and media design. A limited field trial was carried out at SDN Bidaracina 05 Jakarta involving grades 1–3 students as research subjects. Data were analyzed using descriptive quantitative and qualitative methods. Result: Expert validation yielded an average score of 3.45 (86.45%), categorized as "Very Appropriate." Field implementation demonstrated student comprehension levels ranging from 93% to 100%, indicating that the integration of local folklore narratives (Tangkuban Perahu, Bukit Kelam, and Lake Toba) with QR Code video features effectively enhanced children's engagement and understanding of eruption, earthquake, and tsunami mitigation. Conclusion: SiMBA successfully integrates cognitive aspects, cultural values, and digital technology, and is recommended as an innovative and child-friendly disaster mitigation learning model.

Abstract

This research departs from the phenomenon of the weakening role of the family in children's Al-Qur'an education, marked by an increasing dependence on Al-Qur'an Education Center (TPA) teachers and private Quran tutors in Pontianak City. This reality indicates that the home has not fully functioned as the main space for Al-Qur'an learning, while parental involvement in mentoring, supervising, and strengthening children's religious values remains relatively limited. This condition potentially leads to a dysfunction of the family's role in the child's religious education process. This study aims to analyze the role of parents in Al-Qur'an education and to examine the impact of family dysfunction on children's Al-Qur'an learning process in non-formal educational institutions. The study utilizes a qualitative approach with field research methods. Data collection was carried out through observation and in-depth interviews with purposively selected TPA teachers and private Quran tutors in Pontianak City, West Kalimantan. The obtained data were analyzed thematically using Talcott Parsons' structural functionalism framework through the A-G-I-L scheme (Adaptation, Goal Attainment, Integration, and Latency). The results show that parents' low Al-Qur'an literacy, lack of learning monitoring at home, and weak reinforcement of Qur'anic values in daily life impact the low motivation, discipline, and continuity of children's Al-Qur'an learning. This study confirms that the success of children's Al-Qur'an education does not solely depend on non-formal institutions but is highly determined by strengthening the role of parents as primary educators in the family through the processes of adaptation, goal attainment, role integration, and the continuous maintenance of Qur'anic values.

Abstract

Background: Japanese and Javanese are two languages rich in philosophy. One of the most prominent Japanese philosophies is "Ikigai," while in Javanese it is "Urip iku urup." These philosophies offer distinct yet potentially complementary perspectives on the concept of meaningful living. Objectives: This study aims to examine and compare the two philosophies based on their conceptual foundations and applications in everyday life. Method: This study employs a descriptive-qualitative approach. Data were collected through library research using texts related to the philosophies of "Ikigai" and "Urip iku urup," supplemented by observation based on the author's personal experience. Result: Both philosophies share a common emphasis on the importance of living a meaningful life, asserting that life extends beyond mere physical existence and holds values worth pursuing. The "Ikigai" philosophy centers on balancing passion, expertise, and personal financial fulfillment, as reflected in Japanese society's disciplined culture and in business models integrating passion, mission, vocation, and professionalism. The "Urip iku urup" philosophy, by contrast, prioritizes external goals oriented toward benefiting others, as exemplified by figures such as H.O.S. Tjokroaminoto and Peter Carey, and in various communal practices in Javanese society. Conclusion: Despite originating from geographically distant cultures, both philosophies are universal in nature and applicable across cultural boundaries.

Abstract

Background: West Kalimantan has a long history of ethnic and religious conflicts that continue to shape intergroup relations. The Forum Pembauran Kebangsaan (FPK) was established by the Ministry of Home Affairs to prevent social conflict and promote national integration in this highly plural society. Objectives: This study aims to analyze the activities, impacts, and challenges of the FPK in preventing community conflicts in West Kalimantan. Method: This research employs a qualitative approach combined with a literature-based method, drawing on interviews, books, journal articles, and other relevant scholarly sources. Data were analyzed through thematic analysis guided by Anthony Giddens' Structuration Theory. Result: The FPK has organized national dialogue seminars, focus group discussions (FGDs), and social media campaigns including a TikTok competition themed Bhinneka Tunggal Ika. While these activities raise awareness of diversity and tolerance, they predominantly reach participants who are already aware of such issues and fail to penetrate more vulnerable or conflict-prone communities. Limited funding, minimal women's participation, and absence of structured follow-up mechanisms further constrain the forum's effectiveness. Conclusion: FPK holds significant potential as a conflict prevention platform; however, it faces substantial internal and external challenges including financial dependency, limited grassroots reach, and inadequate monitoring. Sustainable peacebuilding requires strengthened community engagement, expanded inclusivity, and systematic translation of recommendations into concrete government policies.

Abstract

Background: Prawirotaman, a historically significant urban kampung in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, has undergone profound transformation driven by the rapid growth of tourism. Originally inhabited by descendants of Prawirotomo palace soldiers and renowned as a batik production center, the area has evolved into a vibrant tourist destination. Objectives: This study examines the social, economic, and spatial dimensions of this transformation in Prawirotaman. Method: A qualitative descriptive approach was employed through a systematic literature review of books, peer-reviewed journals, and relevant academic articles. Result: Findings reveal that tourism growth has triggered significant occupational shifts, the emergence of new social strata, and a transition from community-based social relations to commercially oriented interactions. Economically, the area has shifted from batik production to tourism services, accompanied by rising land prices, increasing investment by outside capital, and processes of commercialization and tourism-led gentrification. Spatially, the proliferation of hotels, cafes, and commercial centers has diminished public spaces and reduced pedestrian accessibility along the main corridor. Conclusion: The overall transformation of Prawirotaman reflects broader urban dynamics in Yogyakarta, pointing to the urgent need for inclusive spatial policies, local economic empowerment, and the preservation of the kampung's distinct cultural identity
