Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan tinjauan repertoar musik simfoni untuk mengembangkan pembelajaran orkestra di Jurusan Pendidikan Seni Musik FBS UNY. Hasil penelitian adalah sebagai berikut. Repertoar merupakan salah satu cara untuk menemukan bagian-bagian pokok dan karakter tertentu dalam karya musik simfoni. Ilmu Bentuk Musik dan Ilmu Sejarah Musik dapat dijadikan sebagai landasan teori bahwa simfoni Klasik karya W.A. Mozart, seperti Simfoni nomor 38 dalam D Major, dan karya simfoni Romantik karya Franz Schubert, seperti Simfoni nomor 2 dalam Bes Mayor, umumnya memiliki bentuk sonata (allegro) dan memiliki karakter gaya yang meliputi tekstur, nuansa kontras, melodi, variasi ritme, dinamika, dan perubahan warna suara. Tinjauan repertoar dalam pembelajaran orkestra di Jurusan Pendidikan Seni Musik FBS UNY, yang menggunakan karya-karya musik simfoni sebagai materi pembelajaran, dapat berkembang  sebagai  sebuah orkestra pendidikan.

Abstract

The motifs found in Dodot Batik are taken from natural elements such as birds, four-legged animals, snakes, flowers, butterflies, buildings, boats, corals, etc. Those motifs (Alasalasan motif) can be classified into three groups based on the natural areas to which they belong. Birds, butterflies, and the other things similar are regarded as the rulers of the upper nature, the place that belongs to Gods. Four-legged animals, flowers, etc. represents the middle nature, the place where human beings live. Meanwhile, snakes, boats, etc. represent the lower nature, in which those who have a bad life live. The three natural areas previously mentioned are inteded to remind human beings that they should remember God The Almighty, and they have to live their lives in surrender. If they live their lives in a wrong way, they would eventually find sorrow. Thus, in order to achieve a happy and peaceful life they have to remember God as well as to respect and appreciate each other. By doing all these, they will be united with God, which is exactly like what is presented in Alas-alasanmotifs in the clothes worn by Bedoyo KetawangDancers.

Abstract

Illustration is a visual language which is used by mass media for commenting news or hot issues which develop in society. Editorial illustration, for example, not only plays a role as an esthetic element at the rubric but also can describe its attitude and the media politic line in which it was published. During 2011 period, Kompas has been lightened up many corruption cases that still happen this day, not only through editorial illustration but also through an opinion article illustration. Both of those illustrations put out the opinion rubric in Monday-Saturday edition. This paper discusses the illustration meaning and its relation within the article, the ways in which the corruption’s information was shown through illustration and the publics’ interpretation to the corruption’s illustration which was put on the opinion rubric at Kompas during 2011 period. To discover the answer of the problems that are investigated and to obtain the purpose which has been settled, this research uses qualitative approach with discourse analysis method. Through this research, a process model of visual discourse construction is also found.

Abstract

            Berkaitan dengan UU Sistem Pendidikan Nasional Tahun 2003. Menuntut seni diwajibkan masuk dalam kurikulum pendidikan nasional sebagai mata pelajaran seni budaya (UU SISDIKNAS No. 20 Tahun 2003, Pasal 37). Pendidikan seni tergolong dalam pendidikan humanistik yang mencakup pendidikan nilai guna membentuk kecerdasan melalui cara berfikir yang kreatif. Gage dan Berliner menjelaskan lima orientasi nilai dalam pendidikan seni yang harus mengarah pada peningkatan nilai kepribadian, kecakapan hidup, kreativitas dan kognisi, meningkatkan rasa keingin tahuan, dan dapat menimbulkan kepekaan (Brian Hill, 1999:1). Kesenian Laras Madya sebuah perpaduan budaya Islam Jawa yang syarat dengan kandungan nilai, akan berguna bagi perkembangan karakter personal. Kesenian Laras Madya relevan untuk diaplikasikan dalam dunia pendidikan sebagai salah satu materi pelajaran seni budaya dalam pendidikan formal yang memenuhi lima orientasi nilai Gage dan Berliner. Tiga pembahasan dalam penulisan ini diantaranya deskripsi kesenian Laras Madya, relevansi kesenian Laras Madya sebagai materi pelajaran seni budaya, dan Laras Madya dalam lima orientasi nilai pendidikan Gage dan Berliner. Sebagai upaya pelestarian budaya dan pendukung kemajuan pendidikan di Indonesia.

Abstract

The terms “interior designer” and “interior decorator” are often used interchangeably, as if they were identical professions. Although both may have the ability and talent to create beautiful rooms, the two are not synonymous. Interior decorators are primarily concerned with surface decoration, generally refers to someone who deals with finishes, surfaces, furniture, and wall coverings and no government regulation regarding the work of an interior decorator. On the other hand, an interior designer is one who is trained to create a functional and quality interior environment, qualified through education, experience and examination, so a professional designer can identify and creatively resolve issues and lead to a healthy, safe and comfortable physical environment. Referring to that definition, interior design is the art and science of understanding people’s behavior in order to create functional spaces within the building structures, an in the other hand, an interior decoration is the art of decorating to beautify a space. Although an interior designer can also make aesthetic changes to an interior space, the interior designer is a professional licensed with a licensing authority who coordinates design projects with a holistic approach. This effort includes designing the interior architecture, in addition to beautifying the space. Keywords: interior design, interior decoration, comparative study.

Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap: (1) Bentuk pertunjukkan musik Japin Tahtul di Amuntai, Hulu sungai Utara, Kalimantan Selatan; (2) Perubahan fungsi dari musik Japin Tahtul; dan (3)  nilai-nilai pendidikan yang terdapat dalam musik Japin Tahtul. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif menggunakan pendekatan etnomusikologi dan beberapa teori terkait sejarah, sosiologi dan antropologi. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Amutai, Hulu Sungai Utara, Kalimantan Selatan. Data diperoleh melalui observasi, dokumentasi dan wawancara. Kemudian data dianalisis menggunakan tehnik analisis data kualitatif yang terdiri dari reduksi data, presentasi data, dan kesimpulan. Hasl dari penelitian ini adalah sebagai berikut: (1) Bentuk pertunjukkan musik Japin Tahtul mengalami perubahan yang meliputi: para pemain, alat musik, teks lagu, kostum, sajak, tempat dan waktu pertunjukan; (2) Perubahan fungsi dari musik Japin Tahtul yang awalnya merupakan pendukung pertunjukkan tari, kini dapat tampil sendiri sebagai pertunjukkan musik; (3) Musik Japin Tahtul mengandung nilai-nilai pendidikan yang dapat ditemukan di musiknya itu sendiri, termasuk lirik lagu, alat musik dan quartrains.Kata kunci: bentuk, perubahan fungsi, nilai-nilai pendidikan THE FORM, THE FUNCTION CHANGES, AND EDUCATIONAL VALUES IN JAPIN TAHTUL MUSICAbstractThis study aims to reveal: (1) the form of Japin Tahtul Music performance in Amuntai, North Hulu Sungai, South Kalimantan; (2) the change of the function of Japin Tahtul Music; and (3) the educational values containing in Japin Tahtul Music. This study is a qualitative research using the ethnomusicology approach assisted with some additional knowledge including history, sociology, and anthropology. This research was conducted in Amuntai, North Hulu Sungai, South Kalimantan. The data were collected through observation, documentation, and interview. The data were analyzed using qualitative data analysis techniques consisting of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results of the study are as follows. (1) The form of Japin Tahtul Music performance in Amuntaihas experienced changes that include the players, musical instruments, song texts, costumes, rhymes, venues, and time of the show. (2) The function changes of Japin Tahtul music which was originally music accompaniment of dancecan now stand on its own as a form of musical performance. (3) Japin Tahtul Music contained Educational values, which can be found in the music itself, including song lyrics, musical instruments, and quatrains.Keywords: form, function change, educational values

Abstract

This study is aimed at identifying the effectiveness of form analysis method in the teaching of drawing art to the third semester students in Visual Art Education Study Program of FBS UNY. Form analysis uses a rational approach to visual art learning which is hoped to help the students in creating and thinking about drawing art. This research is queasy-experimental using nonequivalent control-group design. The population is the Visual Art Education students of 2007. The sample, which was 32 students, was intact: 18 are from class A as the experiment group and 14 from class B as the controlled group. The data analysis technique is covariant analysis to differentiate the mean of students' achievement in both groups, by considering their achievements in the previous semester. The result shows that significant difference exists in the mean of students' achievements of the experiment and controlled groups (F = 4,441, p = 0,043). In conclusion, the form analysis can improve the students' achievement in drawing art. Key words: form analysis method in the teaching of drawing art

Abstract

Suku Bugis merupakan kelompok etnik dengan wilayah asal Sulawesi Selatan. Kebudayaan dan kesenian yang ada di dalam Suku Bugis memiliki ciri dan karakter yang dapat membedakannya dengan suku-suku lain yang ada di Indonesia. Salah satu ciri khas suku Bugis, yaitu rumah adat tradisionalnya. Rumah adat tradisional suku bugis memilki makna dan nilai-niali kearifan lokal. Ada tiga bagian rumah yang memiliki nilai filosofis yang dipercaya oleh Suku Bugis. Rakkeang (bagian atas rumah) merupakan bagian tertinggi sebuah rumah. Suku Bugis menganggap rakkeang merupakan bagian suci. Bagian rumah selanjutnya adalah alle bola atau bagian tengah. Suku Bugis menganggap bagian ini merupakan cerminan kehidupan manusia. Bagian terakhir, yakni yawa bola (bagian bawah). Abstract

Agama Islam dan budaya masyarakat Aceh merupakan satu kesatuan. Agama Islam menjadi sumber utama dalam kebudayaan masyarakat Aceh, sehingga semua kesenian di Aceh, dalam hal ini seni tari, selalu dikaitkan dengan nilai keagamaan. Tari Seudati yang merupakan warisan budaya nenek moyang orang Aceh adalah salah satu tarian tradisional yang terus dilestarikan dan berkembang di kalangan masyarakat Aceh secara nasional maupun internasional. Proses perubahan meliputi: proses reproduksi dan proses transformasi, dari masa ke masa, dan mengikuti perkembangan zaman. Tari Seudati mengalami beberapa kali perubahan sosial, dikarenakan adanya penambahan norma-norma, nilai-nilai, adat, dan agama di masyarakat Aceh. Hasil dari perubahan sosial pada Tari Seudati kini terbagi menjadi dua yaitu: seudati agam (seudati laki-laki) sebagai tari tradisional dan seudati inong (seudati perempuan) sebagai tari kreasi. Seudati inong merupakan pengembangan dari seudati agam. Walaupun ada beberapa kali perubahan sosial dalam Tari Seudati, masyarakat Aceh tetap mengikuti norma-norma, nilai-nilai, adat, dan agama yang telah ditanamkan pada diri masyarakat Aceh sejak dahulu.Kata kunci: perubahan sosial, tari seudati, masyarakat aceh SOCIAL CHANGES IN SEUDATI DANCE IN ACEH SOCIETYAbstractThe religion of Islam and the culture of the people of Aceh is a unity. Islam is a major source of Acehnese culture, so that Art in Aceh, in this case dance, is always associated with religious values. Seudati Dance which is the cultural heritage of Acehnese ancestors is one of the traditional dances that continues to be preserved and developed among the people of Aceh nationally and internationally. The process of changes includes: the process of reproduction and the process of transformation, from time to time, keeping up with the changing times. Seudati dance experienced several times of social change, due to the addition of norms, values, customs, and religion in the people of Aceh. The result of social changes in Seudati Dance are now divided into two: seudati agam (seudati male) as traditional dance and seudati inong (seudati female) as dance creations. Seudati inong is the development of seudati agam. Although there are several times of social change in Seudati Dance, the people of Aceh still follow the norms, values, customs, and religions that have been implanted on Acehnese society long ago.Keywords: social changes, Seudati dance, Aceh society
