Abstract

The authenticity of God’s revelation is important to study because it might raise doubts among Muslim scholars when it is used for interpretation. The purpose of this study is to examine the authenticity of the revelation using Hasan Hanafi's thoughts as an Islamic thinker who has serious attention to the topic. This study uses a qualitative method and employs literature study. The approach is dialectic and historical. The results of the study show that Hasan Hanafi, in determining the authenticity of the revelation, carried out historical criticism that is free from theological, philosophical, mystical, and spiritual aspects. Hasan Hanafi put forward four instruments to authenticate. First, the text must be in verbatim. Second, the words of the revelation received by the Messenger must be written down at the time of recitation. Third, the transfer is through writing. Fourth, the process of transfer from oral medium to the written one must follow the rigid rules of transfer. He confirms that Qur'an qualifies as an authentic holy book when it is authenticated with historical criticism.

Abstract

This research aims to explain the concept of religious tolerance of Mun'im Sirry from the reconstruction and reinterpretation of Sura al-Kafirun. This is library research using qualitative method and descriptive-explanatory research design. The analysis employed in this research is Critical Discourse Analysis by Teun A. Van Dijk. The authors use Critical Discourse Analysis to reveal the various strategic interests behind the writing of Sirry‘s commentary and the struggles of social and understanding of groups. The result of this research explains that the concept of religious tolerance offered by Sirry does not only stop in sociological framework, but, more than that, it also extends tolerance in a theological framework. In Sirry's perspective, Muslims need not only to respect, appreciate, acknowledge differences in belief with followers of other religions and live in harmony (sociological field), they also need to acknowledge the recognition of the possible salvation of other religious followers in the hereafter (theological field). Furthermore, the discourse cannot be separated from the power of the West as the controller of science and the ideologies that influence the discourse are rationalism, empiricism, or neo-mu‘tazilism.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the level of reflexivity towards the merger activities of Islamic banks in Indonesia. The case studies that are the object of this study are 3 Islamic banks that have just merged. The data used in this study is secondary data sourced from financial reports issued by each Islamic bank or financial services authority. The measurement of this level of reflexivity uses bank performance values and Islamic values. This study aims to investigate the effect of various variables using multiple linear regression. The findings suggest that Hahslm has a reflective effect on both financial performance and worship. Additionally, it is suggested that the application of good prayer in Hahslm's activities contributes to the observed changes in these variables when comparing the results before and after to further analyze the results and understand the relationships between the variables, it would be helpful to know the specific independent variables included in the regression analysis. These independent variables could be factors related to Hahslm's operations, management practices, or any other relevant variables that might influence financial performance and worship. The use of multiple linear regression allows for the examination of the simultaneous impact of multiple independent variables on the dependent variables. By analyzing the regression coefficients, it is possible to determine the strength and direction of the relationships between the variables. This study will also look at the effect of variables using multiple linear regression.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats as well as strategies for the role of the digital economy in the halal industry and Sharia economy development in Indonesia. This research is a qualitative descriptive study using literature study and SWOT analysis. The results of the study show that the ultimate strength of Indonesia's digital economy lies in the high growth in the number of Muslims and the growth in digital transactions. However, Indonesia's digital economy is still constrained by the lack of digital economy ability to respond to demand and the market as the main weakness. Meanwhile, the main opportunity lies in good government support. The threat that must be faced is the absence of regulations related to consumer protection in the digital sector. Among the strategic program that can be carried out is increasing digital sharia economic literacy and investment in Indonesia.

Abstract

The study highlights challenges faced by some Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers at SMPN 3 Tangerang Selatan in integrating ICT media into learning. Commonly used tools include YouTube, PowerPoint, Google Classroom, and Google. This research analyzes the ICT literacy proficiency of PAI teachers using a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. Primary data were obtained from two PAI teachers, the vice-principal, and students, while secondary data included curriculum books, school archives, and related documents. Data collection involved non-participant observation and semi-structured interviews, with documents such as curriculum, syllabi, and lesson plans (RPP) analyzed. Following Tammy Moerer-Urdahl and John W. Creswell's phenomenological model, the steps included describing teachers’ experiences (epoche), identifying significant statements, grouping them into themes, and synthesizing themes into comprehensive descriptions. The findings offer insights into ICT literacy levels and reveal the ongoing struggles teachers face in effectively incorporating technology into PAI learning processes.

Abstract

This study explores the Gelaran Parowulan as a manifestation of prophetic art that integrates religious, cultural, and socio-political expressions in Tegal, Indonesia. Using a descriptive phenomenological approach, the research examines how this grassroots movement employs traditional art forms—such as poetry, puppetry, and dance—to convey Islamic values while addressing societal challenges. The findings highlight three key aspects: the socio-political critique inherent in performances, the aesthetic expression of religious experiences, and the embodiment of Islam's spirit of raḥmatan li al-‘ālamīn (mercy to all creation). Gelaran Parowulan not only revitalizes local art forms but also fosters inclusivity and solidarity among diverse communities. By rejecting formalism and promoting sincere engagement, this movement redefines da'wah as a dynamic, creative, and accessible practice. The study underscores the transformative potential of prophetic art in fostering harmony and addressing contemporary social issues.

Abstract

Sharia compliance is an important entity of Islamic banks that needs to be maintained. The Indonesian merger policy can be a benchmark for how much Islamic banking pays attention to the dimensions of Sharia compliance. This study analyses the comparison of Sharia compliance pre-post merger policy of Islamic banks in Indonesia. This quantitative study uses a statistical approach to different tests, namely the nonparametric Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. Data is collected from Islamic banking financial reports pre-merger (2019-2020) and post-merger (2021-2022). The research findings show differences in the Sharia compliance culture in Islamic banks pre-post merger. The Sharia compliance ratio of Islamic banking is better post-merger. This is because the merger makes the Sharia ecosystem more positive, increases religiosity values, and consistently applies existing Sharia standards. The study results have implications for the development of merger studies in Islamic banking, and the implementation of Sharia compliance needs to be continuously improved as a basic barometer of Islamic banking entities in Indonesia. The research limitations are expected to examine the culture of sharia compliance within the framework of strategic policies that need to be implemented by sharia banks.
