Abstract

We present a numerical and experimental model of microbend in an SMS fiber structure. We obtain the numerical model by using several boundary conditions in SMS fiber structure. These conditions divided into transmission of light in a straight multimode fiber and in a bend multimode fiber. The microbend in multimode fiber affects the radius of curvature of the fiber. Thus, causes radiation several modes and then re-distribution of guided modes. The guided modes itself will vary in MMI and bring out different output power. The numerical result compare well with the experimental result from variation of the radius of curvature of the fiber (R) and the arc length.

Abstract

Window Air Conditioner (A/C) is air conditioning which services need of thermal comfort inside a small or medium room. To maintain the desired temperature, then A/C employs the thermostat that functions as an on-off controller. In general, it works based on the set point and the control differential; however the differential is not available to set. In fact, the differential has a  quite important role . In this paper was proposed a new optional controller based on an Arduino UNO R3 so that the differential can be also set. In addition, it is aimed to anticipate if the thermostat has a problem. Based on these purposes, then it was designed an on-off controller and the thermostat was replaced by using the Arduino in which was uploaded the algorithm of controller. However, the excellence of device can be tested in A/C without uninstalling the existing thermostat.   The response of control system obtained is appropriate with design objectives. Although, it at crucial time points still has a response error with range from 0.020C to 0.38oC.Thus, it is more accurate than a conventional system whose error from 0.5°C to 0.95°C. Moreover, the designed controller can reduce the  energy  consumption of about 66% compared to the thermostat.

Abstract

Sidoarjo Regency is one of the regencieslocatedin East Java Province Indonesia.Topography of some area in Sidoarjocan be categorized asin low altitude topography, so it makes this regency haspotential risk for flood disaster. Flood incident in Sidoarjo occurs almost every year. The cause of flooding in this district is an accumulation of several factors, such as heavy rainfall in the rainy season for every year, the low altitude areas in several sub-districts, land cover dominated roads and buildings in the some sub-districts, and the existence of several rivers flowing through the district. Application of Geographic Information System (GIS) and remote sensing is generated in this study to present information on the mapping of flood vulnerability zones in Sidoarjo. Integration of satellite and GIS datasets are carried out to prepare the flood zonation mapping of Sidoarjo Regency. Rainfall data fromTropical Rainfall Measuring Mission (TRMM), topographic map, land coverand the distance to main channel data are the datasetsused to identify the flood vulnerability. Flood vulnerability information includes the spatial distribution of flood hazard vulnerability in all sub-districs of Sidoarjo Regency. Spatial information is represented in the form of a map image. By knowing the spatial distribution, it can be known the level of vulnerability of areas to flooding. Most of Sidoarjo regency is flood vulnerable area, which is 76.24% or 658,702,719.91 sqm. It consist of 33.14% very high vulnerable area and 43.10% high vulnerable area. Very high vulnerable flood-prone areas in Sidoarjo Regency  include most area of Jabon, Porong, Tanggulangin, Balongbendo, Krembung, Taman, and Waru sub-districts, while others are some parts of Candi, Sidoarjo, Buduran, and Gedangan sub-districts. High vulnerable flood-prone area include Tarik, Prambon, Tulangan, Wonoayu, and Sukodono sub-districts. The most dominant factors causing flooding in Sidoarjo Regency is the change of land cover, heavy rainfall, and high drainage density, while other factor also contributing to future flood vulnerability are land subsidence.

Abstract

The mine Exploration is an activity to find the points where an area could be mined and the area is still mined, for economic value. One of the most important in the work of mining is the calculation of the estimated potential of mine. Estimation of the potential mine played an important role in determining the amount of work the quality, production, how the mining is done, even to estimate the time required to do the mining. With the advancement of technology in the field of remote sensing, computation of the vast potential of the estimation and the quality of limestone can be done using high resolution satellite image data one is Quickbird. Satellite image data can be used for a wide range of research, such as the mapping of rock quality in relation to the exploration of natural resources. Vast potential of Cretaceous rocks in Semanding sub district is dominated by the high potential of an area of 5480,479 ha. To a limestone rock quality obtained based on limestone CaCO3 levels, the most highs quality i.e. have levels of CaCO3 amounted to 6.81%.

Abstract

Submerged Floating Tunnels (SFT) is a tubular structure that is submerged and floating in depth remains through the system of anchors consisting of a cable connected to the seabed. SFT structure imposed its own weight and is assisted by the buoyancy or uplift caused by water, cross sectin of the tunnel is designed so that buoyancy can overcome the structural weight and experienced a lift force that causes the floating structure. Fastening system (mooring system) also play a role which is to inhibit the SFT structure, minimize displacement and stress caused by environmental burden, such as earthquakes and hydrodynamic load that can aggravate the condition SFT structure in case of crossing the sea with SFT system. SFT will give a fairly small impact on the environment as it floated in the water, and with built using a modular system, the SFT (Submerged Floating Tunnels) can reach a distance long enough and does not cause pollution. Basically the same as the force that occurs archimides principle, where the objects are in the water to get a compressive force to the top. Cross sectional analysis SFT, will be modeled by 7 different models that have been in previous studies. The model's of SFT with steel cable to hold the structure in order to remain strong with the inclination selected. Analysis is done by modeling the triangle wiring configuration with different angle of incliflation cable. The analysis by comparing the test model were made earlier with prototype analyzed numerically. The expected structure did not undergo excessive deformation due to the environmental burden. Therefore, the structure of the SFT will be done with the Abaqus as finite element analysis. So, obvious deformation occurred in the cable. Therefore, it was expected to obtain the optimum angle of inclination was 54º.

Abstract

OpenStreetMap has become one of the open data sources used for humanitarian purpose in the last decade. This paper focus on mapping process and flood impact assessment using InaSAFE on exposure data in Surabaya provided by OSM. Key infrastructure mapping by of one of the OSM groups HOT ID in Surabaya has provided various lessons and benefits for Surabaya. These lessons learned are very useful to improve the quality of OSM infrastructure data intrinsic quality and data management, particularly data that related to key and vulnerable infrastructure in the field of disaster risk reduction

Abstract

Bangsa Indonesia adalah bangsa yang sejak dahulu dikenal sebagai bangsa yang sangat menjunjung tinggi adat ketimuran dengan moralitasnya yang santun, ramah dan beradab. Namun pada saat ini realitas bangsa Indonesia telah mengalami degradasi  moral yang sangat memprihatinkan. Hal ini tampak jelas pada banyaknya kasus yang telah terjadi, seperti tawuran antar pelajar, pencurian, perampokan, pemerkosaan, seks bebas, miras, narkoba dan yang sedang trend saat ini menjamurnya korupsi hampir di semua institusi negara. Berbagai upaya cerdas sudah banyak dilakukan oleh kaum cerdik pandai baik melalui pendidikan formal maupun non formal untuk mencarikan solusinya, seperti seminar membangun karakter, training spiritual, manajemen qolbu dan lainnya, ternyata semuanya belum mampu merubah anak bangsa menjadi bermoral dan berkarakter, bahkan gerakan revolusi mental yang dicanangkan Presiden RI juga belum  membuahkan hasil, bahkan kemerosotan moral semakin menggurita  melanda bangsa Indonesia. Solusi cerdas yang ditawarkan penulis untuk membangun kembali moralitas anak bangsa adalah melalui pendidikan tasawwuf, yaitu  pendidikan yang menekankan aspek pendalaman spiritual. Dalam analisis Penulis, pendidikan yang diterapkan di Indonesia selama ini masih menitik beratkan pada aspek  lahiriyah (eksoteris) belum menyentuh aspek batiniyah (esoteris), dalam arti pendidikan yang hanya mengedepankan rasionalitas dan meninggalkan aspek spiritualitas. Oleh karena itu jika pendidikan di Indonesia ke depan mulai dari tingkat SD sampai PT memprioritaskan aspek esoteris, yaitu pendidikan modern yang berakar pada nilai-nilai spirit tasawuf, seperti tumbuhnya sikap jujur, sabar, tawakkal, qana’ah, amanah, disiplin, tanggung jawab  dan lainnya, maka moralitas anak bangsa yang bermartabat akan terwujud dan menjadi kenyataan

Abstract

Perangkat Automatic Identification System (AIS) adalah salah satu perangkat yang wajib dipasang pada kapal berukuran lebih besar dari 300 GT. Penggunaan perangkat AIS dimaksudkan untuk meningkatkan keamanan dan keselamatan di laut (SOLAS, Safety of Life at Sea). Penelitian ini merupakan kelanjutan dari penelitian yang telah dilakukan sebelumnya terkait dengan pemanfaatan AIS untuk inspection score pengawasan kapal dan monitoring pipa bawah laut. Hasil-hasil penelitian tersebut mendasari pembangunan konsep dasar sebuah prototype software real time monitoring berbasis AIS. Prototype yang dikembangkan saat ini adalah monitoring real time untuk anjungan lepas pantai dan pipa bawah laut, skor inspeksi kapal, dan ship tracking. mengolah data AIS sedemikian rupa dan membandingkan dengan lokasi fasilitas anjungan lepas pantai dan pipa bawah laut. Monitoring anjungan lepas pantai dan pipa bawah laut memungkinan dalam kondisi bahaya, sistem akan mengirimkan peringatan dini melalui notifikasi telepon seluler, surat elektronik dan media komunikasi lain. Sistem inspeksi kapal bermaksud untuk memonitor lalu lintas kapal dalam daerah perairan tertentu. Oleh otoritas pelabuhan, fitur ini dapat digunakan untuk memudahkan dalam menentukan prioritas kapal-kapal yang akan dilakukan inspeksi. Fitur lainnya yang dikembangkan adalah sistem data historis, yaitu penampilan kembali vessel track dalam kurun waktu, batas daerah perairan atau untuk memperlihatkan jalur/track beberapa kapal tertentu. Pengembangan prototype software ini diharapkan dapat berkontribusi dalam meningkatkan keamanan dan keselamatan operasional kapal dan fasilitas lepas pantai/bawah laut serta meningkatkan efisiensi dalam melakukan monitoring terhadap lalu lintas laut.

Abstract

The development of tourism in Indonesia can be classified based on the type of tourism attraction preferred. Bangkalan Regency determine religious tourism as a major tourism destination. This is as affected by the existence of a number of historical relics which are related to the spread of Islam on Madura Island. , It also asserts this Cemetery as urban heritage that must be protected in Bangkalan. This study explores  Cemetery Aer Mata, this religious tourism destination layout has not been arranged properly. For this reason, formulation of the zone mapping  in the area is needed, in order to be developed as tourism destination that contains a historical value and consistent with regional policy for conservation. An spatial modeling can be develop as tourism strategy by using cognitive mapping techniques.
