Abstract

The study objective is to analyze sustainable livelihoods (farmers conditions ; social, economic, and income) through community empowerment in the Sumber Brantas Village, Bumiaji, Batu City, East Java Province. The community empowerment program is a program to change plant commodities from garlic plants to potato plants. The research method is qualitative research. The key informants this study include the chairperson and members of Farmer Group "Anjasmoro Jaya Abadi 04". The results of the study include the first farmers to carry out the adaptation process. Second, farmers imitate the process, finally the farmers make the transition from garlic plants to potato crops. The change in livelihood from garlic farmers to potato farmers has an impact on economic life, their incomes have increased. Social life, in terms of the level of community education which is starting to change and high causes their social level to be better, cultural life, people who used to always know "mutual cooperation" on the land of fellow peers, help each other, but for now due to changes in income levels and they have been able to pay outside workers.

Abstract

The development of Madura area has its own challenge due to its low development indicators which become the complexity barometer of development problems in this area. The development of Madura area has main obstacles, such as the limitation of infrastructure and transportation acces from and to Madura that weakens the economic development in this area. However, there are many promising potentials of the island that can be developed although until now because of its limitation, the development of Madura is not yet optimal. This research used area marketing concept called Strategic Place Triangle model with nine elements that are categorized into three dimensions, namely strategic (segmentation, targeting, positioning), tactic (differentation, marketing mix, and selling), and value (brand name, service, and process). The data that is used in this research is primary data (derived from questionnaries), and secondary data from some related institutions. The conclusion of the research showed that resource-based industrial sectors (agricultural and natural industries) are the recommended sectors that shall be developed in Madura area. While the segmentation result showed that there were two main investors, namely PMDN and Non Facility. PMDN investors tend to invest in agricultural-intensive resources and labor intensive (Sumenep and Pamekasan districts), whereas Non Facility investors tend to invest in natural- intensive resorces (Bangkalan and Sampang districts). Compared to its main competitor, Sidoarjo district, Madura has some added-value, such as inexpensive price of land, investment opportunity, loading and unloading harbor in Bangkalan district, and agricultural and natural resources for industry.

Abstract

Zonal trip generation is usually assummed to be influenced only by demographic and economic variables. It is seldom to consider spatial position of the zones as an influence variables to its trip generation. In actual condition, people will consider strategic position of residential area when they choose to buy or rent of their home, in accordance with their place of activities such as working, studying for their children and shopping. This research aim is to calculate the influence of spatial position of residential zones from the activities centers to zonal trip generation in Surabaya, Indonesia. Surabaya has several activities centers that can be classified as urban centers and suburban centers. In order to define position of residential zones in relation with activities centers, travel time is defined as a spatial measure which can be measured using Google Maps. Trip generation data is compiled from origin-destination matrix from household interview survey. Regression analysis is used for calculation of the influence of spatial position of residential zones in relation to the activities centres to zonal trip generation. The result shows that travel time to urban center influences reduction of the residential trip generation more than travel time to suburban centers does. However, still many trips were not influenced by travel time from residential to city center since housing ownership in Surabaya is fixed system more than flexible one, and housing at periphery area much cheaper than at city center.

Abstract

IMC is a type of model based control that compensates time delay in the process. The controller tuning is quite simple in case of no-error in the model, otherwise it will be a difficult matter. Mp tuning has been considered a tuning for uncertain processes. To extend  IMC to MIMO system, a new method  based on Maximum Peak (Mp) is developed . The present study proposes Maximum Peak  (Mp) tuning for IMC in 2x2  multi input and multi output (MIMO) system. Three particular 2x2 model of distillation colomn are being studied, the best configuration is analyzed by Relative Gain Array (RGA) and Average Dynamic Gain Array (ADGA) method. The tuning method  consists of two main steps: Firstly, determine the worst case of the model uncertainty. Secondly, specify the parameter of set point controller using maximum peak (Mp) criteria.  The effectiveness of Mp tuning for IMC in MIMO system  is  evaluated and compared to Biggest Log Modulus Tuning (BLT) for MIMO-PI Controller, Skogestad Tuning, and Rivera Tuning. Evaluation and comparison  have been done through simulation and the results are satisying.

Abstract

Abstract

Green IT (Information Technology) becomes one of the latest considerations to increase environmental sustainability and reduce the cost of Information Technology operation. However, the successful adoption of Green IT needs Green IT readiness measurement taken for the considerations of organizations leader. Green IT readiness focused on capability and maturity the Green IT effects on the organization. G-Readiness Molla was the integrated framework that usually used for Green IT Readiness. G-Readiness framework had five important dimensions, which were attitude, policy, practice, technology, and governance. Without considering how organization culture affected Green IT adoption. This research purpose was to build the appropriate model for inspecting the effect of organizational culture on the five dimensions of Green IT Readiness, that was Green IT Attitude, Green IT Policy, Green IT Practice, Green IT Technology, and Green IT Governance. Based on our literature review, we proposed a hypothesis: organizational culture was one of the key determinant factors in Green IT Readiness. Thus we updated the G-Readiness Molla framework by adding organizational culture as one of its dimensions
