Abstract

Line balancing is a jobs assignment into a number of work stations that are interrelated in a track or a production line with an objective to minimizing the idle time on the line that is determined by the slowest operation. In line welding 1DY models includes eight work stations where one work station is done by one operator. Problems have been found that these operators have very long idle time and also there is too much wip that creates bottleneck in the production line so these leads to a waste of manpower and time. This waste of manpower and time need to be reduced by determining the optimal amount of labor in order to avoid excessive idle time but work can be done effectively and efficiently. One way to adress imbalance line is to apply line balancing methods.The results of this research shows that the line balancing methods can reduced the waste of time and give solutions for the optimal amount of labor requirements for line welding 1DY models.Keywords: Line Balancing, Workstation, Production Line, Idle Time, Bottleneck.

Abstract

Penjadwalan mata kuliah merupakan pekerjaan rutin yang selalu dilakukan setiap institusipendidikan pada awal semester. Penjadwalan tersebut menjadi sebuah pekerjaan yang rumitdikarenakan persoalan penjadwalan merupakan masalah kombinatorial yang memiliki batasanbatasanyang harus dipenuhi. Batasan tersebut terbagi ke dalam batasan mutlak yang harusdipenuhi seperti ketersediaan ruang kelas dan kapasistasnya, ketersediaan dosen, serta mahasiswadan batasan lunak seperti preferensi dosen dalam memilih waktu mengajar. Solusi terbaik daripersoalan penjadwalan tersebut adalah sebuah jadwal yang mampu mengoptimalkan penggunaanberbagai sumber daya pembelajaran seperti ruang kelas, pengajar/dosen, mahasiswa danmemenuhi peraturan yang berlaku pada sebuah kurikulum. Pada penelitian ini dirancang sebuahmodel penjadwalan mata kuliah secara otomatis berbasis algoritma Particle Swarm Optimization(PSO). Model penjadwalan otomatis ini bertujuan menghasilkan jadwal yang memenuhi semuabatasan mutlak dan meminimalkan total aktivasi batasan lunak berupa preferensi dosen. Kandidatsolusi berupa partikel pada algoritma PSO, merepresentasikan posisi sebuah mata kuliah padasuatu tabel jadwal. Setiap kondidat solusi memiliki nilai biaya yang merupakan jumlah dariaktivasi batasan mutlak dan batasan lunak. Populasi partikel dibangkitkan di awal iterasi danpada setiap iterasi, partikel-partikel tersebut memperbaiki posisinya menuju posisi terbaik, yaituposisi optimum sebuah mata kuliah pada tabel jadwal. Proses ini dilakukan untuk setiap matakuliah yang akan dijadwalkan, sehingga diperoleh sebuah jadwal yang utuh. Berdasarkan hasilpercobaan, model penjadwalan mata kuliah berbasis algoritma PSO dapat melakukan tugaspenjadwalan secara otomatis dan menghasilkan solusi yang memenuhi semua batasan mutlak danmeminimalkan aktivasi batasan lunak. Dengan menggunakan model penjadwalan berbasis PSO,proses penjadwalan menjadi lebih cepat dibandingkan proses penjadwalan manual.Kata Kunci: Penjadwalan mata kuliah, optimasi, algoritma Particle Swarm Optimization

Abstract

Total Quality Management is a philosophy and key to bring success in the industry for this era. Total Quality Management plays an important role in the management system and culture to create or produce a good products and service. Andalas University is one object of the application of Total Quality Management in the education sector. Research carried out aims to describe the service quality for undergraduate programs at the Andalas University. Based on the measurement of the service quality, obtained the information related to the level of student satisfaction each Departments and priority improvements to service variable. The study used a questionnaire with two instrument ratings. The instruments rating are an assessment of the level of service and service priority. The calculation for service quality used CSI (Customer Satisfaction Index) method. The recommendations for improve service quality used IPA (Importance Performance Analysis) Method. Based on research conducted, service quality Undergraduate Program at Andalas University can be categorized as low. It was based on the value of CSI located on the 4th lowest category, which is one of courses in Very Poor category, 9 courses in Poor category, 3 courses in the Cause for Concern category, and 1 course on Borderline category. While the dimensions of which are in the service of a general improvement priorities is the Tangible and Reliability dimension.

Abstract

In order to facing an increasingly competitive world of manufacturing industry, it is necessary to select appropriate suppliers to produce quality products at competitive prices. This requires producers to make efficiency. Supplier selection is one way to make efficiency by considering several factors. In this research, the ideal supplier selection is made on rubber component using AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) method with three criteria factors that are considered important by the company such as, production factor (48%), quality (40%), and price (12%). Furthermore, this study shows The TRHI as suppliers with the largest value of 51.6% compared to other suppliers such as IKP (24.8%) and IRC (23.6%).

Abstract

The effectiveness of the production is a must knowledge in a manufacture company, because it is closelylinked to the success level of a company, if effectiveness reaching high level, it will lead to be successful interms of meeting production targets. It is also happened at PT Beiersdorf Indonesia which requires method tomeasure the effectiveness of production in their companies, particularly in Elastoplast production division.PT Beiersdorf Indonesia requires certain method IPC computerized checklist which the system can giveinformation related to the evaluation of the effectiveness of production. Based upon these problems, it is clearlystated that they need to use innovation in Effectiveness Level Measurement Information System Production.This information system is designed to help the all involved employees the process, documenting, and directlycontrols the activity of production. in this study, by creating the new system will help the company to conductan evaluation of the production process.

Abstract

The city of Bandung has a variety of culinary places that feature their own characteristics, ranging from luxury culinary venues, traditional uniqueness hangout, to the roadside hangout is available in this city. Amid the rapid development of culinary tourism in the city of Bandung, Lsociete Dine and Bar is one restaurant that wrestle in culinary tourism business competition. However, according to sales data, Lsociete experienced a decrease in total sales from 2014 to 2016. Lsociete requires effective improvement on its marketing mix performance. The study aims to analyze customer satisfaction with Lsociete marketing mix. The research was conducted using descriptive statistics method, measuring customer satisfaction index and integration of Importance Performance Analysis and Kano Model.Based on the result of research, there are some attributes of Lsociete marketing mix that need to be improved. For price attributes, Lsociete should review product prices. This review is conducted through further research on product pricing by analyzing product prices with competitor product price comparison or optimizing production costs. For promotional attributes, Lsociete can hold live music on an ongoing basis. In addition to this, it can be proposed packages with attractive discounts to the customer, group or family. Abstract

This research aims to evaluate the workload of production operators at PT. X and develop a product/tools that can minimize the workload of production operators in PT.X factory. PT.X is a motorcycle manufacture company that produces sport bike, duck bike, and scooter bike along with its components. One of the main components produced in PT. X is crankcase. Crankcase function as a house for motorcycle machine components such as generator, oil pumps, clutches, crankshaft, transmission gear, and lubricating oil. This research focuses on crankcase production because the crankcase production operators have the most complaints regarding workload compared to others.The research begins by evaluating the workload of the operators on the initial working system. The evaluation data is collected by some method such as direct field observation, direct measurement, and interview with the operators. After that, the data is processed to evaluate the mental and physical workload of the operators using NIOSH, RULA, and NASA-TLX methods. The Evaluation results show that there are several operators that have an excessive workload, especially for the material handling work. This activity results Lifting Index value of more than 1, a RULA value of more than 5, and a NASA-TLX value greater than 80.Based on the evaluation, this research developed a material handling tool in the form of workpiece basket lifting equipment using a combination of pneumatic and hydraulic principles that can minimize the workload of the crankcase production operator at PT. X. This tool can eliminate a bending movement which is the source of problem in the operators workload. The result of the evaluation of this tool application shows that the use of the tool can produce a reasonable workload for all crankcase production operators at PT. X.

Abstract

From Latin Eleutherina American L. Merr, tiwai onion is one of species of flowering and bulbous plants in Borneo forest that can be developed as biopharmaceutical source for industrial scale. Tiwai onion beverage product is a product that has the benefits of tiwai onion plant in the tea bag form. Industrial development of tiwai onion processing into a tea bag product in UKM Solaindo still has many technical constraints. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct a research which aims to design technical aspect to ensure a smooth production process of tiwai onion tea. This research is expected to overcome the technical constraints faced by UKM Solaindo, so that tiwai onion product into a tea bag product in UKM Solaindo could get bigger and get increased to fulfill the market needs and also to become a competitive local product. Technical aspects examined include determining a factory location, production capacity, machinery and equipment, and factory facility layout. Determining a factory location using qualitative method (ranking procedure) determined that Tenggarong is the best location to establish an industrial factory of tiwai onion with the total score of 15.90. Production capacity is conducted by demand forecasting using weighted moving average method, and forecasting value obtained is 618 units/month or 66,74 Kg/month. Machinery and equipment used for production process from the factory that will be set up in every process are tray, automatic sealer machine, washing machine, oven, chopping machine, stamping equipment, and sealer machine. The most appropriate scoring systems for factory facility layout are ARC, ARD, SRD, and AAD that have 10 facilities such as administration room facilities with area of 80 m2, production facilities 37,5 m2, shipping facilities 7,5 m2, material warehouse facilities 15 m2, finished product warehouse facilities 17,5 m2, reception facilities 7,5 m2, quality control facilities 12 m2, power plants facilities 6 m2, waste shelter facilities 4 m2, and parking facilities 60 m2.  Key-words: Factory layout, machine, production capacity, ranking Procedure, tiwai onions

Abstract

Borneo Project is a new business in the field of ordering services of various types of clothing. In doing its marketing strategy Borneo Project relies on marketing through friendship, word of mouth from one to another one and using social media as a marketing tool. This has not had a much positive effect on sales in Borneo Project. Therefore it is necessary to analyze the marketing strategy that can be applied in Borneo Project.Determining the strategy carried out in three stages: an input stage, matching stage, and the stage of the decision. The input stage is done by using Internal Factor Evaluation Matrix (IFE) and External Factor Evaluation Matrix (EFE). In the IFE matrix, obtained a total score of 2.407, while the EFE Matrix obtained score of 2.831. Based on internal and external factor analysis then matching phase with IE Matrix method and SWOT Matrix. The final stage was the decision stage used QSPM method. QSPM is used to evaluate alternative strategies obtained in the SWOT Matrix, then rank them. The first rank is the strategy of applying for credit funds, seeking investors or business joint venture partners and seeking financial assistance from corporate CSR with the acquisition of power score Pull of 5,824. Alternative strategies are prioritized to be applied is to ask a credit fund, seek a joint venture partner and investor or business and are looking for financial aid CSR.Keywords: Marketing Strategy, Borneo Project, QSPM
