Abstract

This research develop a model of blood mobile collection using blood donor vehicle efficiently by determining the optimal route of blood collection to the points of blood collection. The model developed in the form of mixed integer nonlinear programming (MINLP) and this model is called Blood Mobile Collection Routing Problem (BMCRP). The purpose of this model is to minimize the total distance of the blood collection routing process in which each place of blood collection has the opening hours and the closing time (time windows) and the service time in each place. This study considers the blood age (spoilage time) for 6 hours to ensure blood quality. The mathematical model is then verified to determine whether the solution is in accordance with the characteristics of BMCRP. Verification is done by solving Blood Mobile Collection Routing small cases. The simulation of solving BMCRP is done by generating eight hypothetical data sets of small cases based on vehicle routing data problems with different characteristics. Verification of BMCRP uses LINGO software. From the simulation results, the BMCRP model can obtain optimal solutions with minimum total distance travelled and does not violate any constraints on BMCRP.

Abstract

The rapid development of the industrial world has resulted in increasingly tight competition among companies. This condition shows the importance of improving performance, not only in a company but also other parties in the related supply chain, in order to compete with other companies or supply chains. The good performance of a supply chain will certainly increase the customers satisfaction. Therefore, performance measurement needs to be carried out so that a supply chain can find out how well it currently performing is and keep improving it. This study will discuss about the application of the supply chain operations reference (SCOR) model and the pairwise comparison method for the supply chain performance measurement of a product packaging company Keywords: supply chain, performance measurement, SCOR, pairwise comparison

Abstract

An inventory management system in supply chains called Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) is very promising due to the cost efficiency resulted from implementing such system. This research aims to develop a vendor managed inventory for multiple retailers. The model also takes into account lead time uncertainties from vendor to its retailers. A mathematical formulation for VMI with multiple retailers is first developed using deterministic lead times.  Subsequently, lead times uncertainties are then taken into account where modes lead times are broken into two components: modes and delays, each with their respective probabilities. In turn, an approximation model is used to solve the problem because the complexity aroused from the model is difficult to solve using analytical methods. It is shown that the proposed approximation method is able to solve VMI problem with multiple retailers and uncertain lead times.  Furthermore, the total inventory cost is significantly reduced when compared to the usual economic order quantity method because stockouts are less frequent.

Abstract

This research aims to evaluate the workload of production operators at PT. X and develop a product/tools that can minimize the workload of production operators in PT.X factory. PT.X is a motorcycle manufacture company that produces sport bike, duck bike, and scooter bike along with its components. One of the main components produced in PT. X is crankcase. Crankcase function as a house for motorcycle machine components such as generator, oil pumps, clutches, crankshaft, transmission gear, and lubricating oil. This research focuses on crankcase production because the crankcase production operators have the most complaints regarding workload compared to others. The research begins by evaluating the workload of the operators on the initial working system. The evaluation data is collected by some method such as direct field observation, direct measurement, and interview with the operators. After that, the data is processed to evaluate the mental and physical workload of the operators using NIOSH, RULA, and NASA-TLX methods. The Evaluation results show that there are several operators that have an excessive workload, especially for the material handling work. This activity results Lifting Index value of more than 1, a RULA value of more than 5, and a NASA-TLX value greater than 80.Based on the evaluation, this research developed a material handling tool in the form of workpiece basket lifting equipment using a combination of pneumatic and hydraulic principles that can minimize the workload of the crankcase production operator at PT. X. This tool can eliminate a bending movement which is the source of problem in the operator's workload. The result of the evaluation of this tool application shows that the use of the tool can produce a reasonable workload for all crankcase production operators at PT. X.

Abstract

Supply Chain Management (SCM) has been assumed to play an important role in the company's performance and has attracted academician’s attention to research seriously in these recent years. A number of literatures reveal the research of supply chain management developmenth that has implemented RFID technology. Generally, the method is implemented by combining and informing the journal about cost-benefit analysis model in a company that applies RFID tag technology integratedly from production line, delivery up to management of retailer part. Currently, all links from the entire supply chain need to integrate those different parts and have better controls to get better returns. This integration must offer the ability for the company to have a thorough and transparent insight into its supply chain activities. Intelligent supply chains that are primarily supported by RFID technology can meet these integration needs. By using RFID, a company can benefit from several advantages. One of them is cost reduction and time efficiency. This paper attempts to recommend a model to estimate the benefits of implementing RFID in companies that have an integrated supply chain process. The proposed model is used to find out the value of depreciation and RFID price tag that can provide maximum benefit from RFID implementation. Examples of case studies provide a better understanding of calculation model

Abstract

Refinery Unit (RU) V is a processing company owned by PT XYZ located in Balikpapan. Refinery Unit V has twelve warehouses with four warehouses being the main focus in this research of RGM, RMS, RIN, and RSP used to store products for refinery maintenance processes. In the initial conditions, there is a delay in traveling searching activities. The occurrence of delay in traveling searching activity caused by the absence of details of the product location clearly. The proposed product allocation is using Interaction Frequency Heuristic-Order Oriented Slotting method. The last step is to create a new layout for each RU V warehouse. The first step is to calculate the cycle time for each work order list by calculating the distance between the storage point with the point of I / O based on the aisle distance calculation. Next is to compare between the cycle time of each work order list with the standard time of the warehouse, so it will know the percentage of work order list that experienced delay for one year. Next, allocate product storage based on the popularity value of the product and the value of the interaction frequency between the products. The final step is to simulate using new work order list based on the proposed allocation layout to know the effect of change from the proposed layout. The result of this research is a new layout for each warehouse. All stock taking performance are better than the standard time while the exisiting condition violate the standard time.
