Abstract

AN ANALYSIS OF MORAL VALUES FOUND IN ROBERT FROST SELECTED POEMS By I Wayan Rengkuh Febri Subrata, NIM 1112021079 English Education Department ABSTRACT This research is entitled “An Analysis of Moral Values Found in Robert Frost Selected Poems”. This research that has been written in for analyzing the moral values point from the six selected poems namely : A Patch Of Old Snow, Dust Of Snow, Nothing Gold Can Stay, Devotion, A Question, and The Sound Of The Trees. This research use the library research method with supporting data from the internet. The Moral Values from the human behavior in good and bad. The first is A Patch Of Old Snow has a moral value to keep the kindness and love for peace and harmony. The second poem is Dust Of Snow that has a moral value of the forbidden way of the human action for killed himself. Killed himself as a part of the hell entrance or a wrong way of human choice in the new era. The third poem is A Question, that has a moral value for preventing ourself for the selfishness. Selfishness create the poverty and lack of humility. The fourth poem is devotion that has a moral value of unstoppable willpower of the human being for get the success point in their entire life. The fifth poem is Nothing Gold Can Stay that has a moral value of the beauty cannot stay in the long time. Abstract

Penelitian ini menganalisa tentang perubahan morfofonemik dari Bahasa Inggris ke Bahasa Indonesia yang digunakan dalam majalah-majalah Info Komputer. Majalah-majalah yang digunakan adalah edisi-edisi spesial. Majalah-majalah tersebut dipublikasikan sekitar tahun 2014 sampai 2017. Penelitian ini merupakan content analysis karena data didapatkan dari majalah-majalah. Penelitian ini memakai model Interactive Data Analysis oleh Miles and Huberman (1994). Ada beberapa langkah-langkah untuk penelitian ini seperti, (1) Membaca, menandai, dan mengurutkan kata-kata yang dipinjam, (2) menerjemahkan kata-kata yang dipinjam, meletakkannya dalam tabel-tabel, dan menganalisis perubahan morfofonemik berdasarkan teori oleh Nida (1949), dan (3) menarik kesimpulan dari penelitian. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ada lima jenis dari perubahan morfofonemik seperti, lima proses perubahan asimilasi, sepuluh proses penghilangan fonem konsonan, tiga proses penghilangan fonem vokal, satu proses perubahan palatalisasi, dan satu proses perubahan nasalisasi. Kata Kunci : kata-kata yang dipinjam, perubahan bahasa, perubahan morfofonemik This study analyzed the morphophonemic change of English words into Indonesian words which were used in Info Komputer magazines. The magazines which were used were special editions. The magazines were published around the years 2014 until 2017. This study was content analysis since the data were obtained from magazines. This study used Interactive Data Analysis model of Miles and Huberman (1994). There were three steps for this study such as (1) reading, marking, and listing the borrowed words, (2) transcribing the borrowed words, putting the words into tables and analyzing the morphophonemic change based on the theory of Nida (1949), and (3) drawing the conclusion of the study. The result of the study showed that there were five types of morphophonemic change such as five processes of assimilation, ten processes of loss of consonant phonemes, three processes of loss of vowel phonemes, one process of palatalization, and one process of nasalization.keyword : borrowed words, language change, morphophonemic change

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menginvestigasi (1) jenis-jenis TIK (Tekonologi Informasi dan Komunikasi) yang digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran (2) perencanaan penggunaan TIK dalam RPP (Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran) (3) prosedur penggunan TIK dalam mengajar Bahasa Inggris (4) masalah yang dihadapi oleh guru Bahasa Inggris dalam menggunakan TIK dalam proses pembelajaran di SMA Negeri 2 Semarapura. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskripsi kualitatif. Subjek dari penelitian ini adalah tiga guru Bahasa Inggris yang menggunakan TIK dalam proses pembelajaran di SMA Negeri 2 Semarapura. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk pengumpulan data adalah peneliti, kuesioner, panduan interview, RPP guru, lembar hasil observasi, dan perekam suara. Metode pengumpulan data adalah survei, wawancara, analisi RPP, observasi, dan perekaman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa guru Bahasa Inggris SMA Negeri 2 Semarapura sudah menggunakan TIK dalam proses pembelajaran. Ada beberapa jenis TIK yang digunakan seperti laptop, LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) proyektor, speaker, video, Power Point, internet, dan pembelajaran online yaitu Quipper School. Sebelum menggunakan TIK, guru merencanakan penggunaannya pada RPP terlebih dahulu. Penggunaan TIK direncanakan secara eksplisit pada media, alat, dan sumber pembelajaran, sedangkan secara implisit pada langkah-langkah pembelajaran. Dalam menggunakan TIK, guru memiliki prosedur masing-masing, tergantung dari jenis TIK yang digunakan dan materi yang diajarkan. Guru menghadapi empat masalah utama yaitu masalah infrastruktur, masalah teknis, masalh waktu, dan kurangnya pengetahuan dalam menggunakan TIK. Kata Kunci : masalah dalam penggunaan TIK, TIK, TIK dalam pembelajaran This study aimed at investigating (1) types of ICT tools implemented in teaching and learning process (2) English teacher’ planning of the use of ICT tools in lesson planning (3) procedures implemented in teaching English using the ICT tools (4) the problems faced by English teachers who used ICT tools in teaching and learning process at SMA Negeri 2 Semarapura when using ICT tools in teaching and learning process. This study was descriptive qualitative research involving three English teachers of SMA Negeri 2 Semarapura. The instruments used for data collection were researcher, questionnaire, interview guide, teachers’ lesson plan, observation sheet, and recorder. The methods of data collection were survey, interview, lesson plan analysis, observation, and recording. The result of the study showed that English teachers of SMA Negeri 2 Semarapura had already implemented ICT tools in teaching and learning process. Types of ICT tools used were laptop, LCD projector, speaker, video, Power Point, internet, and e-learning namely Quipper School. Before implementing those types of ICT tools, teachers planned ICT tools in the lesson planning. The use of ICT tools were planned explicitely in teaching media and tools as well as learning resources, while implicitely in steps of teaching and learning activity. In implementing ICT tools, the teachers had their own procedures which depended on types of ICT tools used and topic taught. Teachers encountered four main problems namely infrastructural problems, technical problems, problem of time, and lack of teachers’ competence in using ICT tools. keyword : ICT, problems in using ICT, tools in teaching and learning

Abstract

Kegiatan pemasaran melalui iklan semakin populer di masyarakat. Kegiatan beriklan menggunakan bahasa kiasan yang sangat menarik untuk mempengaruhi para pembaca. Bahasa pada iklan tidak dapat dimaknai secara harfiah karena mengandung makna makna kiasan di dalamnya. berdasarkan hal tersebut kajian studi tentang iklan ini dilaksanakan. penelitian ini berjutuan untuk mengidentifikasi jenis ekspresi kiasan yang digunakan, menganalisa keberhasilan fungsi dari ekspresi kiasan yang digunakan, dan menginterpretasi makna sebenarnya yang terkadung pada ekpresi kiasan dalam iklan. sumber data pada penelitian ini adalah teks iklan pada majalan Glamour yang di terbitkan pada bulan Agustus hingga Desember tahun 2016. penelitian dilaksanakan dengan metode deskripsi kualitatif. Data diperoleh dari teks iklan yang ditulis dengan ukuran besar. Data dianalisis dengan metode dokumen analisis. berdasarkan penelitian ditemukan sepuluh jenis ekspresi kiasan yang digunakan pada iklan diantaranya: hyperbole (19), personification (13), alliteration (10), metonymy (5), parallelism (4), metaphor (3), simile (2), paradox (2), onomatopoeia (2) dan apostrophe (2). Terdapat empat fungsi dari ekspresi kiasan pada iklan diantaranya: to give imaginative pleasure (31), to add emotional intesity (18), to bring additional imagery (10) dan for saying much in bref compass (6). Makna dari ekspresi kiasan mengandung makna yang tidak dapat diartikan secara harfiah, konotasi, dan makna sesuai konteks. makna pada ekpresi kiasan haruslah dimaknai berdasrkan pada elemen-element disekitarnya pada iklan.Kata Kunci : ekspresi kiasan, fungsi, makna, iklan Marketing through advertisement is popular nowadays. It uses persuasive language which is attractive for influencing readers. The language in advertisement cannot be taken literally, it applies figurative meaning inside the advertisement. Considering to the thought above, the analysis study on advertisement was conducted. This research was aimed at identifying the types of figurative expression used in advertisement, analyzing successfulness of function of figurative expression and interpreting the meaning intended by figurative expression. The data source of this research were the text of advertisements from Glamour Magazine published in August 2016 to December 2016. This study employed descriptive qualitative method. The data were taken from the larger typed text on the advertisements. The data were analyzed using a document analysis method. The research findings showed there were ten types of figurative expressions that appeared in advertisement: hyperbole (19 times), personification (13), alliteration (10), metonymy (5), parallelism (4), metaphor (3), simile (2), paradox (2), onomatopoeia (2) and apostrophe (2). There were four functions served by figurative expression they were to give imaginative pleasure (31 times), to add emotional intensity (18), to bring additional imagery (10) and for saying much in brief compass (6). The meaning of the figurative expression contained non literal meaning, connotative and contextual meaning. It could not be taken literally and should be interpreted by relating to the surrounding elements of advertisement.keyword : figurative expression, meaning, advertisement

Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan sebuah video pembelajaran berbasis genre dan buku manualnya berdasarkan analisis kebutuhan yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini. Dalam penelitian ini menggambarkan fitur serta kualitas video yang dikembangkan. Desain yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah R & D yang mengadaptasi model Dick and Carey (2001). Selanjutnya, data yang diperoleh dianalisis secara kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Dalam mengunmpulkan data analisis kebutuhan, tiga guru SMA sebagai subjek sedangkan dua dosen pendidikan Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris UNDIKSHA merupakan subjek dalam mengumpulkan data terkait dengan kualitas video yang dikembangkan. Objek dalam penelitian ini adalah video pembelajaran berbasis genre. Data dalam penelitian ini dikumpulkan menggunakan lembar observasi, daftar periksa, catatan, pedoman wawancara, dan rubrik penilaian. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan rata-rata dari kedua ahli adalah 4,5 itu mengindikasikan bahwa video yang dikembangkan masuk dalam kategori baik. Beberapa saran diberikan oleh ahli untuk meningkatkan kualitas video, diantaranya adalah penambahan pada introduction, mengedit warna dan font pada caption, memperkecil volume dari background musik. Itu semua sudah diperbaiki oleh peneliti dalam tahapan revisi produk ahir. Kata Kunci : Kurikulum 2013, Pembelajaran berbasis genre, Video pembelajaran The data was collected by using observation sheet, checklist, note, interview guide, and scoring rubric. The results of the study showed that the mean from both of expert judgment is 4.5 meaning that the instructional video belonged to the good category. Some suggestions were given by the experts in order to improve the quality of the video. Those were adding more information in the introduction sector, editing the color and fonts of the caption to differentiate the stages and sub stages, and reducing the volume of background music. Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk (1) menginvestigasi persepsi murid kelas 5 pada penggunaan permainan interaktif berbasis ICT terhadap motivasi belajar dan pretasi belajar Bahasa Inggris, (2) menginvestigasi persepsi guru Bahasa Inggris pada penggunaan permainan interaktif berbasis ICT sebagai media pembelajaran. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan Cross-sectional survei sebagai metodenya. Penelitian ini melibatkan 156 siswa kelas 5 dan 6 guru Bahasa Inggris dari enam sekolah dasar negeri di Kecamatan Sukasada. Data dari dua kuisioner yang berbeda kemudian di hitung skor rata-ratanya dengan menggunakan perhitungan Aritmetika di Microsoft Office Excel untuk mengetahui level kualifikasi dari setiap persepsi. Hasil dari data analisis menunjukkan bahwa (1) sebagian besar murid kelas 5 menunjukkan persepsi yang sangat positif pada penggunaan permainan interaktif berbasis ICT terhadap motivasi belajar dan persepsi yang positif pada prestasi belajar Bahasa Inggris, (2) guru menunjukkan persepsi yang positif pada penggunaan permainan interaktif berbasis ICT sebagai media pembelajaran dengan Jadi, dapat disimpulkan dari hasil tersebut bahwa siswa kelas 5 dan guru Bahasa Inggris mereka menunjukkan persepsi yang positif pada penggunaan permainan interaktif berbasis ICT. Kata Kunci : persepsi, motivasi belajar siswa, prestasi belajar Bahasa Inggris siswa, permainan interaktif berbasis ICT. This study aimed at (1) investigating fifth grade students’ perception on the use of ICT Based Interactive Game on their learning motivation and English learning achievement, (2) investigating fifth grade English teachers’ perception on the use of ICT Based Interactive Game as teaching media. This study was quantitative research design which used Cross-sectional survey as the method. This study involved 156 fifth grade students and 6 English teachers from six public elementary schools in Sukasada District. The mean score of the data from the two different questionnaires were processed by using Arithmetic Statistics in Microsoft Office Excel in order to know the qualification level of each perception. The results of data analysis indicated that (1) most of students corresponded to very positive perception on the use of ICT Based Interactive Game on students’ motivation and positive perception on their English learning achievement, (2) teachers showed positive perception on the use of ICT Based Interactive Game as teaching media. Consequently, results showed that both fifth grade students and their teachers had positive perception on the use of ICT Based Interactive Game. keyword : perception, students’ motivation, students’ English learning achievement, ICT based interactive game

Abstract

This qualitative research describes Phonological system of Balinese language. The aim of this study was 1) To find out the vowel phonemes of Balinese language in Pedawa Dialect and their distribution, 2) To find out the diphthong Balinese language used in Pedawa dialect, 3) To find out the consonant phonemes of Balinese language in Pedawa dialect and their distribution, 4) To find out the consonant clusters that are used in Pedawa dialect. The main instrument was the researcher, and the researcher also used the other instruments namely, recorder and a word list. The data were gathered by conducting observation, recording and interview techniques. The result of this research can be describe that (1) there were 28 phonemes of Balinese language in Pedawa dialect. Those phoneme were /ʌ/, /i/, /u/, /e/, /o/, /ǝ//p/, /b/, /t/, /d/, /k/, /g/, /ʔ/, /s/, /c/, /j/, /l/, /h/, /m/, /n/, /ñ/, /ŋ/, /r/, /w/, /y/ /ʌi/, /ʌe/, /ʌɛ/ that consist of 6 vowels, 3 diphthongs and 19 consonants. (2) The researcher also found 2 consonant clusters in of Balinese language in Pedawa dialect which were they are /r/ and /kl/keyword : Dialect, Pedawa, Phonological System

Abstract

Penilitian ini bertujuan untuk membuktikan apakah ada dampak yang signifikan dari penggunaan model Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol (SIOP) terhadap penguasaan kosa kata pada siswa kelas VII. Desain penilitian yang digunakan adalah Post-test Only Control Group. Populasi penelitian ini adalah kelas VII di SMP Negeri 3 Sukasada. Sampel penelitian ini adalah 57 siswa yang dipilih dengan menggunakan teknik sampel acak. Data dianalisis secara kuantitaif dengan menggunakan analisis statistik deskriptif dan inferensial. Dari hasil tersebut, ditemukan bahwa hasil pengujian hipotesis (independent t-test) yang menunjukkan bahwa thitung = 6.165 > ttabel = 1.673 dan nilai signifikan dari data adalah 0.001 lebih rendah dari α = 0.05. Hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa ada dampak yang signifikan dari penggunaan model Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol (SIOP) terhadap penguasaan kosa kata pada siswa kelas VII.. Dapat disimpulkan juga, model pembelajaran SIOP dapat diaplikasikan dan efektif dalam mengajar Bahasa Inggris sebagai bahasa asing terutama dalam penguasaan kosa kata.Kata Kunci : Penguasaan kosa kata, Model pembelajaran SIOP, Model pembelajaran biasa This study aimed at proving whether or not there was significant effect of implementing Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol (SIOP) Model toward vocabulary mastery of the seventh-grade students. This study used Post-test Only Control Group as the research design. The population of this study was the seventh-grade students of SMP Negeri 3 Sukasada. The sample of this study was 57 students that were selected by random sampling. The data were analyzed quantitatively by using descriptive and inferential statistics analysis. It was found that the result of hypothesis testing (independent t-test) was tobs = 6.165 > tcv = 1.673 and the significance value of data was 0.001 lower than α = 0.05. It showed that there was significant effect of implementing Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol (SIOP) Model toward vocabulary mastery of the seventh-grade students. It can be inferred that SIOP Model is an effective learning and can be applied in teaching English as foreign language especially in mastering vocabulary.keyword : Vocabulary mastery, SIOP Model, Conventional learning model

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyelidiki jenis afiks yang terjadi pada Dialek Masbagik. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Penelitian ini menggunakan beberapa instrumen, yaitu: peneliti, daftar kata dan panduan wawancara. Informan dipilih berdasarkan kriteria tertentu. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada 9 macam prefiks yang terjadi dalam dialek Masbagik. Ada 5 kata dengan awalan {be-}, 5 kata dengan awalan {m-}, 5 kata dengan awalan {me-} seperti, 5 kata dengan awalan {ng-}, 5 kata dengan awalan {nge-}, 5 kata dengan awalan {pe-}, 5 kata dengan awalan {seper}, 5 kata dengan awalan {sem-}, 5 kata dengan awalan {sen-}, dan 5 kata dengan awalan {te-}. Selanjutnya, ada 4 jenis sufiks yang terjadi dalam dialek Masbagik. Ada 5 kata dengan akhiran {-ang}, 5 kata dengan akhiran {-in}, 5 kata dengan akhiran {-k}, dan 5 kata dengan sufiks {-ye}. Selain itu, ada 2 macam konfiks yang terjadi dalam dialek Masbagik. Ada 3 kata dengan awalan {ku-} dengan akhiran {-k} dan 3 kata dengan awalan {m-} dengan akhiran {-an}Kata Kunci : Afiksasi, Dialek, Desa Masbagik This study aimed at investigating the kinds of affixes occurring in Masbagik Dialect. This study is a descriptve qualitative study. This study used some instruments, namely: researcher, word list and interview guide. The informants were selected based on certain criteria. The result showed that there were 9 kinds of prefixes which occurred in Masbagik dialect. There were 5 words with prefix {be-}, 5 words with prefix {m-}, 5 words with prefix {me-} such, 5 words with prefix {ng-}, 5 words with prefix {nge-}, 5 words with prefix {pe-}, 5 words with prefix {se-}, 5 words with prefix {sem-}, 5 words with prefix {sen-}, and 5 words with prefix {te-}. Furthermore, there were 4 kinds of suffixes which occurred in Masbagik dialect. There were 5 words with suffix {-ang}, 5 words with suffix {-in}, 5 words with suffix {-k}, and 5 words with suffix {-ye}. , Furthermore, there were 2 kinds of confixes which occurred in Masbagik dialect. Abstract

This study aimed at describing the comparison of prefixes and suffixes in Nusa Penida Dialect and Sepang dialect which belong to derivation and inflection. This research was a descriptive qualitative research. Two informants sample of Nusa Penida were chosen based on a set of criteria. The data were collected based on three techniques, namely: observation, recording technique, and interview (listening and noting) technique. The results of the study showed that those ware difference: prefix {mə-}: NPD: tΛlʊh (V) become mΛtΛlʊh (V) and when prefix {mə-} + kΛndΛ (N) become mΛkΛndə (V). suffix {-In}: NPD klΛmbI (N) become klΛmbIn (V). suffix {-ē }: SP: tΛbIng (V) become tΛbIngΛ (V) and NPD: Jǝlǝmǝ (N) become JǝlǝmΛtē (N). The similarity prefix {mə-}: NPD and SP: {mə-} + jΛlΛn (N) become məjΛlΛn (V),. Prefix {m-} NP and SP: {m-} + bʊbʊh (N) become mʊbʊh (V). suffix {-Λŋ} NP and SP: sΛmpΛt (N) + {-Λŋ}→ become sΛmpΛtΛŋ (V). Suffix {-In} NP and SP: nɒt (V) + {-In} → become nɒtIn (V). keyword : Derivational Morpheme, Inflectional Morpheme, Nusa Penida Dialect and Sepang dialect.
