Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah ada pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap pemahaman membaca siswa yang diajar dengan teknik cooperative script dan siswa yang diajar dengan teknik konvensional. Rancangan penelitian penelitian ini adalah Quasi Experimental of Posttest Only Control Group Study. Populasi penelitian ini adalah 180 siswa kelas VIII di SMP Negeri 3 Banjar. 60 siswa dari dua kelas diambil sebagai sampel. Mereka ditetapkan sebagai kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol dengan undian. Data yang diperoleh kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif dan inferensial menggunakan aplikasi SPSS 19. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata - rata skor kelompok eksperimen adalah 85,37 sedangkan nilai rata - rata kelompok kontrol adalah 76,63. Hasil uji-t menunjukkan bahwa t-diamati melebihi nilai t-kritis (4,376> 2,048). Dengan demikian hipotesis nol ditolak, artinya ada pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap pemahaman membacasiswa kelas VIII di SMP N 3 Banjar.Kata Kunci : Cooperative Script, Pemahaman Membaca This study aimed at investigating the effect of cooperative script technique on the students’ reading comprehension. The research design of this study was Quasi Experimental of Posttest Only Control Group Design. The population of this study was 180 students of the eighth grade students of SMP N 3 Banjar. Sixty students from two classes were taken as samples. They were assigned as an experimental group and a control group through lottery. The obtained data were analyzed descriptively and inferentially by using SPSS 19. The result showed that the mean score of the experimental group was 85.37 while the mean score of the control group was 76.63. The result of t-test showed that the t-observed exceeded the t-critical value (4.376 > 2.048). Thus, the null hypothesis was rejected, which means there was significant effect on the eighth grade students’ reading comprehension of SMP N 3 Banjar.keyword : Cooperative Script, Reading Comprehension

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian dan pengembangan (R&D) yang bertujuan untuk: (1) mengidentifikasi jenis materi berbasis e-learning yang dibutuhkan oleh siswa kelas 10 jurusan Pharmacy di SMKN 1 Kubutambahan.; (2) mendesain materi berbasis e-learning untuk siswa kelas 10 jurusan Pharmacy di SMKN 1 Kubutambahan; (3) mengetahui kualitas materi berbasis e-learning untuk siswa kelas 10 jurusan Pharmacy di SMKN 1 Kubutambahan. Penelitian ini dilakukan berdasarkan pada desain penelitian dan pengembangan oleh Lee & Owen (2004). Data penelitian dikumpulkan melalui analisis wawancara, kuisioner, observasi, dokumen, angket, dan uji ahli. Hasil data dari analisis wawancara, kuisioner, observasi, dokumen, dan angket dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis deskriptif, dan data dari uji ahli dianalisis dengan menggunakan Interrater Agreement Model dianalisis melalui hasil angket. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) siswa membutuhkan materi yang lebih spesifik dan berbasis e-learning, (2) materi yang dikembangkan berbasis e-learning yakni dalam bentuk buku yang diintegrasikan dengan e-learning, (3) materi Bahasa Inggris berbasis e-learning dikategorikan sebagai materi berkualitas tinggi berdasarkan validitas isi. Kata Kunci : R & D, e-learning, pharmacy, materi bahasa Inggris This study is research and development study. This study aimed at identifying kinds of e-learning based materials are needed by the tenth-grade students of Pharmacy Department of SMKN 1 Kubutambahan, designing the e-learning based materials for the tenth-grade students of Pharmacy Department of SMKN 1 Kubutambahan and know the quality of e-learning based materials for the tenth-grade students of Pharmacy Department of SMKN 1 Kubutambahan. The result of interview analysis, questionnaire, observation analysis, and document analysis were analyzed by using descriptive analysis and the data of expert judgments were analyzed by using Inter-rater Agreement Model. Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian dan pengembangan (R&D) yang bertujuan untuk: (1) mengembangkan materi bahasa Inggris berbasis e-learning dengan menambahkan materi tentang makanan local khas Bali untuk siswa kelas 11 jurusan Jada Boga di SMK N 2 Singaraja; (2) mengukur kualitas produk e-learning. Penelitian ini dilakukan berdasarkan pada desain penelitian dan pengembangan oleh Lee & Owen (2004). Data penelitian dikumpulkan melalui analisis wawancara, observasi, dokumen, angket, uji ahli dan uji lapangan. Hasil data dari analisis wawancara, observasi, dokumen, dan angket dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis deskriptif, data dari uji ahli dianalisis dengan menggunakan Interrater Agreement Model, dan data dari studi lapangan dianalisis melalui hasil angket. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) siswa jasa boga membutuhkan materi Bahasa Inggris khusus berbasis e-learning dengan tambahan materi tentang makanan local khas Bali dan dapat diintegrasikan dengan menggunakan Teknologi Infomasi dan Komunikasi (TIK); (2) materi Bahasa Inggris khusus berbasis e-learning dikategorikan sebagai materi berkualitas tinggi berdasarkan validitas isi dan uji lapangan.Kata Kunci : R & D, e-learning, Jasa Boga, Food & Beverage Product, Balinese Local Food This study is research and development study. This study aimed at developing good E-Learning based English materials with the insertion of Balinese local food for Eleventh Grade Students at SMKN 2 Singaraja, and knowing the quality of e-learning product. This study was done by using the research and development design of Lee & Owen (2004). The data of the research was collected by using interview analysis, observation analysis, document analysis, questionnaire, expert judgments, and field test. The result of interview analysis, observation analysis, document analysis, and questionnaire were analyzed by using descriptive analysis, the data of expert judgments were analyzed by using Inter-rater Agreement Model, and the result of field study were analyzed by using questionnaire result. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah ada pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap kompetensi menulis siswa yang diajar dengan Pictionary game yang diintegrasikan dengan Board Race game. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen semu. Sampel penelitian diperoleh dengan cara cluster random sampling dan diperoleh kelas V di SD Negeri 1 Lokapaksa sebagai kelompok kontrol dan SD Negeri 3 Lokapaksa sebagai kelompok eksperimen. Kelompok eksperimen diajar dengan menggunakan Pictionary game yang diintegrasikan dengan Board Race game, sedangkan kelompok kontrol diajar dengan menggunakan strategi konvensional. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah skenario pengajaran dan post-test. Penelitian experimen ini mengimplementasikan desain penelitian post-test only control group. Data yang diperoleh kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif dan inferensial. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kelompok siswa di kelas eksperimen mampu menunjukkan hasil yang lebih baik daripada kelompok siswa kelas control. Hal ini dapat dibuktikan dari hasil t-test dimana nilai tobs adalah 2.816, sedangkan nilai tcv adalah 1.666 (tobs > tcv). Hal ini berarti bahwa penggunaan Pictionary game yang diintegrasikan dengan Board Race game mampu memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan pada kemampuan menguasai grammar Bahasa Inggris pada siswa kelas lima SD.Kata Kunci : Board Race game, strategi konvensional, penguasaan grammar, Pictionary game This study aimed at investigating whether or not there was a significant effect on the use of Pictionary game integrated with Board Race game as a learning strategy towards the fifth grade students’ grammar mastery. This study was a quasi experimental one. The sample of this study was selected by using cluster random sampling technique and SD Negeri 1 Lokapaksa was decided as a control group while SD Negeri 3 Lokapaksa as an experimental group. The experimental group was taught by using Pictionary game integrated with Board Race game, while the control group was taught by using conventional strategy. The instrument used in this study were teaching scenario and post-test. This experimental research implemented post-test only control group design. The obtained data were analyzed descriptively and inferentially. The result showed that the group of students in experimental group could perform a better result rather than the group of students in the control group. It could be proven from result of the t-test in which the tobs was 2.816, meanwhile the tcv was 1.666 (tobs > tcv). It means that the use of Pictionary game integrated with Board Race game give significant effect toward the fifth grade primary school students’ English grammar mastery.keyword : Board Race game, Conventional strategy, Grammar Mastery, Pictionary game

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian dan pengembangan (R&D) yang bertujuan untuk (1) mengembangkan materi Bahasa Inggris yang dibutuhkan oleh siswa kelas X Jurusan Keperawatan di SMK Negeri 1 Kubutambahan; (2) mengidentifikasi desain materi Bahasa Inggris; dan menentukan (3) kualitas materi Bahasa Inggris yang dikembangkan berdasarkan kriteria dari materi ESP yang baik dan kriteria e-learning yang baik. Penelitian ini dilakukan berdasarkan pada desain penelitian dan pengembangan oleh Lee & Owens (2004). Desain ini meliputi: need analysis, design dan development. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, rekaman, interview, dan uji ahli. Data yang didapatkan dari hasil observasi, rekaman dan interview selama proses need analysis, telah dianalisis secara deskriptif, sedangkan data yang didapatkan dari hasil uji ahli, dianalisis secara kuantitatif dengan mengikuti rumus dari Candiasa (2010). Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa; (1) siswa kelas X Jurusan Keperawatan membutuhkan materi Bahasa Inggris yang spesifik sesuai dengan target pekerjaan yang mereka lakukan di masa depan; (2) materi Bahasa Inggris telah didesain menjadi beberapa unit, yaitu: General Assessment, Handling Patients, Patient’s Hygiene, Checking Vital Signs, dan Dimensions of Symptom; (3) dari hasil uji ahli yang berdasarkan dengan kriteria materi ESP yang baik dan kriteria e-learning yang baik, materi yang dikembangkan tergolong sangat bagus. Kata Kunci : need analysis, e-learning, materi bahasa inggris, R&D This study was a research and development (R&D) was aimed at (1) developing English learning material that are needed by the tenth grade of Nursing Department students at SMK Negeri 1 Kubutambahan; (2) describing the design of English learning material; and finding out (3) the quality of the developed material based on the criteria of good ESP material and good e-learning. This study followed the R&D design by Lee and Owens. This design involves: need analysis, design, and development. This study was conducted at SMK Negeri 1 Kubutambahan, the subjects of the study being the tenth grade of Nursing Department students. The data were collected through observation, recording, interview, and expert judgment. The data from the result of observation, interview and recording during the need analysis process were analyzed descriptively; the data from expert judge were analyzed quantitatively. The result of this study shows that: (1) the tenth grade of Nursing Department students need specific English materials that are related to their future job. The existing syllabus and material did not cover their needs; (2) the materials were designed into some unit based on the data gathered from the need analysis. Those units are: General Assessment, Handling Patients, Patient’s Hygiene, Checking Vital Signs, and Dimensions of Symptom; (3) from the result of the expert judgment based on the criteria of good ESP material and good e-learning material, the developed material was categorized into an excellent material.keyword : need analysis, e-learning, English learning material, R&D

Abstract

Penelitian R&D ini bertujuan untuk menyajikan spesifikasi dan pengembangan instrumen tes ulangan kenaikan kelas Bahasa Inggris untuk menilai kompetensi pengetahuan siswa kelas 8 berdasarkan penerapan Kurikulum 2013. Spesifikasi tes dirancang berdasarkan 15 kompetensi dasar bidang pengetahuan dalam silabus kurikulum 2013. Pengembangan tes mengikuti enam prosedur pengembangan tes bahasa standar oleh Brown dan Abeywickrama (2010). Akan tetapi, karena keterbatasan penelitian maka pengembangan tes hanya mengikuti 4 prosedur yaitu 1) menentukan objektif dan tujuan tes, 2) merancang kisi-kisi, 3) merancang tes, dan 4) membuat evaluasi yang sesuai terhadap butir soal (validasi, try-out, dan analisis butir). Proses validasi tes melibatkan dua orang ahli yang hasilnya menyatakan tes tersebut memiliki validitas konstruk dan tampilan yang sangat baik. Uji coba dilakukan dua kali dan analisis buti dilakukan terhadap skor tes siswa untuk mendapatkan hasil tingkat kesusahan, daya pembeda, keefektifan pengecoh, dan homogenitas butir soal. Uji reliabilitas dihitung dengan metode Split half dan hasilnya adalah 0,93. Dari 100 butir soal yang awalnya dirancang, 65 butir soal dinyatakan layak untuk test.Kata Kunci : tes ulangan kenaikan kelas, pengembangan tes, analis butir soal, kurikulum 2013 This R&D study was aimed to present the specification and the development of a standard English Language final achievement test instrument to assess the 8th grade students knowledge competency based on the implementation of Curriculum 2013. The specification of the test was designed based on the 15 basic competencies of knowledge competence in the curriculum 2013 syllabus. The test development followed six procedures of developing standard language test by Brown and Abeywickrama (2010). However, because of the limitation of the study the test development only followed 4 procedures namely 1) determining the objective and purpose of the test, 2) designing the test specification, 3) designing the test, and 4) make appropriate evaluation of different kinds of items (validation, try-outs, and item analysis). The test validation process involved two experts and the result showed that the test has a very good construct and face validity. Try out tests were conducted twice and item analysis was conducted on the students’ test score to get the result of the item facility, item discrimination, distractor efficiency, and item homogeneity. The reliability of the test was calculated with Split half method and found to be 0.93. From 100 questions item that initially designed, 65 question items were accepted for the test. keyword : achievement test, test development, item analysis, curriculum 2013

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan penggunaan instruksional media dari guru laki-laki dan perempuan bahasa Inggris pada saat mengajar speaking di kelas 7 di SMP Negeri 2 Singaraja dan SMPN 4 Singaraja. Skripsi ini deksriptif kualitatif, yang di bagi menjadi dua guru laki-laki dan dua guru perempuan bahasa Inggris. Penelitian deskriptif kualitatif ini menggunakan teory dari Vernon. Di dalam teori tersebut terdapat lima kategori, diantaranya (1) Drawing, (2) Still Picture, (3) Audio Recording, (4) Motian Picture and TV, (5) Real Object, Simulation, and Models. Metode yag digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah observasi, catatan, dan interview untuk melengkapi data yang di dapat. Adapun penemuan akhir dalam penelitian ini adalah adanya perbedaan antara guru laki-laki dan perempuan di kedua sekolah tersebut dalam menggunakan media. di SMPN 2 Singaraja, guru laki-laki lebih dominan menggunakan media dalam proses belajar dan mengajar. Kemudian di SMPN 4 Singaraja guru perempuan yang lebih dominan menggunakan media dibandingkan guru laki-lakinya. Guru laki-laki di SMPN 2 Singaraja menggunakan tiga jenis tipe media, diantaranya still picture, audio recording, dan real object, simulation and models. Sedangkan guru perempuannya hanya menggunakan satu jenis media saja yaitu real object, simulation, dan models. Hal itu juga sama seperti guru laki-laki di SMPN 4 Singaraja hanya menggunakan satu jenis media yaitu real object, simulation, dan models. Untuk guru perempuannya menggunakan dua jenis media diataranya still picture, real object, simulation, dan models. Kata Kunci : intruksional media, sekolah, guru laki-laki dan guru perempuan This study aimed describing the instructional media used by male and female English teachers’ in teaching speaking in grade 7 at SMPN 2 Singaraja and SMPN 4 Singaraja. This research was qualitative descriptive, which involved 2 males and 2 females English teachers. This qualitative descriptive research used the theory by Vernon. There were five categories of this theory, they are (1) Drawing, (2) Still Picture, (3) Audio Recording, (4) Motion Picture and TV, (5) Real Object, Simulation, and Models. This study used the instruments of observation sheet, field note and interview guide to supported the data. The finding reveals that there is a difference between male and female in used media in both schools. At SMPN 2 Singaraja, male teacher more dominant used instructional media in the teaching and learning process. But, at SMPN 4 Singaraja female teacher more dominant in used instructional media. Male teacher at SMPN 2 Singaraja used three instructional media that was still picture, audio recording, and real object, simulation, models. While female teacher only used one instructional media that was real object, simulation, and models. It seemed like male teacher at SMPN 4 Singaraja also only used instructional media, that was real object, simulation, and models. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis perbandingan gegar budaya yang dialami turis Belanda dan turis Denmark selama tinggal di Singaraja. Penelitian ini menganalisis gegar budaya terkait dengan komunikasi lisan dan tidak lisan. Data dianalisis berdasarkan teori dari Pederson (1995). Penelitian ini mengacu pada peneilitian deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah tiga turis Belanda dan tiga turis Denmark. Peneliti mengumpulkan data dengan teknik wawancara terstruktur dan tidak terstruktur. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dalam komunikasi lisan, ada lima persamaan gegar budaya dialami turis Belanda dan Denmark yaitu menyapa, perkenalan, pertanyaan pribadi, merekomendasikan, dan membuat janji. Dalam komunikasi tidak langsung yaitu tersenyum, kontak mata, interaksi sentuhan, jarak, bersendawa, dan gerak-gerik kepala. Perbedaan keduanya adalah turis Belanda mengalami enam gegar budaya, diantaranya mengingatkan, berterima kasih, menawarkan, meminta maaf, mengundang, dan bersiul. Sementara turis Denmark mengalami lima gegar budaya dalam menyarankan, menghakimi, melarang, menolak, dan memotong pembicaraan. Dalam komunikasi tidak lisan, turis Belanda mengalami lima gegar budaya, diantaranya dengan dua tangan menyapa, menggeretakkan jari tangan, tersenyum, makan dengan tangan, dan mengedipkan mata. Sedangkan, turis Denmark mengalami tujuh gegar budaya, yaitu melambai, penguatan, bersalaman, mencangkupkan tangan, memeluk, dan penggunaan tangan kiri kanan. Untuk mengatasi gegar budaya, mereka menayakan informasi kepada pemandu atau orang local, meniru, dan menyesuaikan diri sesuai aturan yang ada di Bali. Masalah dari turis Belanda dan Denmark adalah meniru budaya baru. Kata Kunci : gegar budaya, komunikasi lisan, komunikasi tidak lisan This descriptive qualitative study aimed at analyzing the comparison of culture shock experienced by Dutch and Danish tourists during staying in Singaraja. This study analyzed the culture shock which is related to verbal and non-verbal communications. The data were analyzed based on Pederson’s theory (1995). The subjects of this study were three Dutch and Danish tourists. The data were collected based on semi structure and unstructured interview. The result of this study shows that in verbal communication, there are five similarities of culture shock experienced by Dutch and Danish tourists, namely: greeting, introducing, asking personally, recommending, and making appointment. In non-verbal communication, there are five similarities of culture shock phenomena, namely: smiling, eye contact, touch interaction, space, belch, and head movement. However, Dutch tourists experienced six culture shock, namely: reminding, thanking, offering, apologizing, inviting, and whistling, while Danish tourists experienced five culture shock, namely: suggesting, judging, prohibiting, refusing, and interrupting. In non-verbal communication, Dutch tourists experienced five culture shock, namely: two hands greeting, snapping fingers, smiling, use hand in eating, and winking. Danish tourists experienced seven culture shock, namely: waving hands, thumb reinforcement, smiling, shaking hand, covering hands, hugging, and the right and left hand. To overcome the culture shock phenomena, they conducted something as follows: asking information to their tour guide or local people, imitating the local people’s habits, and organizing themselves based on the rule in Bali. Dutch and Danish tourists’ problems were in copying the communications of new culture. keyword : Culture shock, differences, similarities.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bermaksud untuk menyelidiki jenis media pembelajaran yang digunakan oleh guru bahasa Inggris dalam kaitannya dengan minat dan motivasi siswa, dan masalah yang dihadapi oleh guru bahasa Inggris dalam menggunakan media pembelajaran. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain deskriptif kualitatif (Sandelowski, 2000) dan data dikumpulkan dengan observasi, kuesioner, dan wawancara untuk mendapatkan data. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa guru bahasa Inggris menggunakan enam jenis media pembelajaran, seperti (1) Slides power point, (2) Real Object, (3) Motion Picture (Video), (4) Menggambar, (5) Peta, dan (6) Internet. Penggunaan media pembelajaran memiliki hubungan dengan respon siswa pada minat dan motivasi belajar mereka. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa persentase minat siswa adalah positif (78, 5%) dan motivasi siswa positif (85, 6%) untuk belajar menggunakan media pembelajaran. Ada masalah umum yang dihadapi oleh guru bahasa Inggris dalam menggunakan media pembelajaran yaitu pemeliharaan alat yang digunakan untuk membantu guru bahasa Inggris untuk menunjukkan media pembelajaran.Kata Kunci : Media pembelaran, minat, motivasi. This study intends to investigate the types of instructional media used by the English teacher in relation to the students’ interest and motivation, and the problems encountered by the English teacher in using instructional media. This study used descriptive qualitative design (Sandelowski, 2000) and the data were collected from observations, a questionnaire, and an interview to obtain the data. The result of this study showed that the English teacher used six types of instructional media, such as (1) Slides of power point, (2) Real Object, (3) Motion Picture (Video), (4) Drawing, (5) Map, and (6) Internet. The used of instructional media had a relation to the students’ responses on their learning interest and motivation. The result showed that the percentage of the students’ interest was positive (78.5%) and the students’ motivation was positive (85.6%) to study using instructional media. There was a general problem encountered by the English teacher in using instructional media that is the maintenance of the tool that is used to help the English teacher to show the instructional media.keyword : Instructional media, interest, motivation.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyelidiki bahan ajar dan strategi pengajaran untuk mendengarkan siswa kelas tujuh SMPN 2 Sawan. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian deskriptif kualitatif untuk menyelidiki materi pembelajaran dan strategi untuk siswa kelas tujuh. Data dikumpulkan dengan mengamati, mewawancarai guru bahasa Inggris, dan dokumentasi untuk mengambil foto materi pembelajaran yang digunakan oleh guru dalam mengajar mendengarkan dan aktivitas siswa selama kelas berlangsung. Pada akhir pendataan, ditemukan bahwa (1) ada 3 jenis materi pembelajaran yang digunakan oleh guru untuk pengajaran mendengarkan di SMPN 2 Sawan, yaitu gambar, buku, dan lembar kerja. (2) Ada beberapa strategi yang diterapkan pada bagian pendengaran yang digunakan oleh guru, yaitu: pengelompokan, pengaplikasian gambar, pengulangan, penerjemahan, pencatatan, peringkasan, perhatian, aking pertanyaan dan kerja sama dengan orang lain.Kata Kunci : Bahan Belajar, Strategi Mendengarkan This study aimed at investigating learning materials and strategies for teaching listening for the seventh-grade students at SMPN 2 Sawan. The present study used descriptive qualitative research design to investigate the learning materials and strategies for the seventh-grade students. The data were collected by observing, interviewing the English teacher, and documentation for taking photos of learning material used by the teacher in teaching listening and the activity of the students during the class. By the end of data collection, it is found that (1) there are 3 kinds of learning material used by the teacher for teaching listening at SMPN 2 Sawan, namely picture, book, and worksheet. (2) There are several strategies that implemented in listening part used by the teacher, namely: grouping, applying image, repeating, translating, note-taking, summarizing, paying attention, aking question and cooperating with others.keyword : Learning Material, Strategies for Teaching Listening
