Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan perubahan fonologis dan leksikal dialek Tigawasa ke Dencarik. Penelitian deskriptif kualitatif ini menggunakan 3 informan dari masing masing dialek, yang dibagi atas satu orang ditunjuk sebagai informan utama, sedangkan 2 orang ditunjuk sebagai informan pendamping Data diperoleh dengan mengunakan 4 teknik, yaitu: peneliti, observasi, rekaman, dan daftar kata Swadesh dan Nothofer. Dialek di desa Tigawasa dan Dencarik unik karena situasi dan kondisi desa tersebut. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa 4 kata apocope, 4 kata syncope, 10 suku kata (haplology), 3 kata epenthesis, 3 kata prothesis, 3 kata paragoge, dan 48 kata termasuk kategori perubahan bunyi abnormal. Perubahan leksikal yang terdapat dari dialek Tigawasa ke dialek Dencarik dapat dikategorikan sebagai berikut: 10 kata termasuk penyalinan leksikal, 10 kata termasuk kata yang sudah punah, 4 kata yang di kompres, dan 4 kata yang dicampur.Kata Kunci : dialek, perubahan fonologi, perubahan leksikal This study aimed at describing the phonological and lexical changes from Tigawasa to Dencarik dialect. This research was a descriptive qualitative research. In this study, there were three informants selected for each dialect, One person was appointed as the main informant, where as two others were appointed as the secondary informants. The obtained data were collected by using these techniques, namely: the researcher, observation, recording, and Swadesh’s and Nothofer’s wordlist. The results of the data analysis show that there were four words which were categorized as deletion in the final word position (apocope), four words as deletion in the middle word position (syncope), ten words were as deletion of syllable in the word (haplology), three words as addition in the middle word position (epenthesis), three words were as addition in the initial word position (prothesis), three words were as addition in the final word position (paragoge), forty eight words as abnormal sound change. The lexical changes which occur from Tigawasa dialect to Dencarik dialect were categorized as follows: ten words were categorized as lexical copying, ten words were as lost words, four words were as compressions (initials) and four words were as blends.keyword : dialect, phonological changes, lexical changes

Abstract

This study aimed at 1) describing inflectional and derivational prefixes and suffixes 2) determining prefixes and suffixes which belong to inflectional morpheme and 3) determining prefixes and suffixes which belong to derivational morpheme . This research was a descriptive qualitative research. The informant sample were chosen based on set criteria and one of the important criteria was the informant must belonged to the original people of Depaha village. The data were collected based on three instruments, namely: researcher as the main instruments, tape recorder and word list. The results of the study show that there are no prefix and three suffixes in Depaha dialect. The suffixes are {-nine}, {-an}and {-nane}. All suffixes were not change the part of speech which means all suffixes belonged to derivational morpheme. There was no indication of prefixes because some words Depaha dialect were influenced by another language. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menginvestigasi perbedaan prestasi belajar siswa antara siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan menggunakan Adapted Monopoly Board Game dan siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan menggunakan media pembelajaran konvensional di Banjar, Buleleng. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuasi eksperimen yang menggunakan desain penelitian posttest only control group. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa di Banjar, Buleleng yang berjumlah 182 siswa. Cluster random sampling digunakan sebagai teknik untuk menentukan sampel. Ada 2 kelompok sampel, SD N 1 Banjar ditetapkan sebagai kelompok kontrol dan SD N 9 Banjar ditetapkan sebagai kelompok eksperimen yang berjumlah 58 siswa. Data yang diperlukan dalam penelitian ini dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan instrumen penelitian berupa posttests. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif dan inferensial. Hasil dari analisis data menunjukan bahwa ada perbedaan yang signifikan diantara siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan menggunakan Adapted Monopoly Board Game dan siswa yang dibelajarkan menggunakan media pembelajaran konvensional. Rerata kelompok eksperimen (80.41) lebih tinggi daripada kelompok control (67.48). Hasil dari independent sample t-test menunjukan bahwa nilai t observed lebih tinggi daripada nilai t critical value (tobv = 6.544 > tcv = 2.003) pada taraf signifikansi 0.05 (α=0.05). Secara ringkas, Adapted Monopoly Board Game sebagai media pembelajaran memberikan efek yang signifikan terhadap prestasi belajar Bahasa Inggris siswa.Kata Kunci : Adapted Monopoly Board Game, Permainan Bahasa, Prestasi belajar Bahasa Inggris Siswa This study was aimed to investigate the significant difference in students’ English learning achievement between the students who were taught by using Adapted Monopoly Board Game and the students who were taught by using conventional teaching media in Banjar, Buleleng. This study was a quasi-experimental research using posttest only control group design. The population of this study was the fourth grade students in Banjar, Buleleng consisted of 182 students. To determine the sample, cluster random sampling technique was employed as a technique. There were 2 groups of sample, SD N 1 Banjar was assigned as control group, while SD N 9 Banjar was assigned as experimental group consisted of 58 students altogether. The required data for this study were collected by means of administering the research instrument in the form of posttests. The data was analysed descriptively and inferentially. The result of data analysis showed that that there was a significant difference between the students who were taught by using Adapted Monopoly Board Game and the students who were taught by using conventional teaching media. The mean of experimental group (80.41) was higher than control group (67.48). The result of independent sample t-test revealed that the value of t observed was higher than the t critical value (tobv = 6.544 > tcv = 2.003) at level significance 0.05 (α=0.05). Abstract

Penelitian ini termasuk penelitian kualitatif deskriptif yang bertujuan untuk menganalisa karakteristik dan faktor yang menyebabkan Bahasa Inggris Pidgin yang digunakan oleh para pedagang di pantai Tulamben. Subyek penelitian ini adalah tujuh pedagang berusia antara 35-45 tahun. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa peneliti sendiri, alat perekam, lemba robservasi, dan daftar wawancara. Data yang terkumpul dianalisa berdasarkan langkah-langkahan alisa yang diajukan oleh Gale, dkk (2013). Analisa karakteristik Bahasa Pidgin di dasarkan pada teoriIsa, Halilu, & Ahmed (2015) dan Holmes (1992). Sedangkan analisa factor penyebab Bahasa Pidgin didasarkan pada teori Richard dan Schmidt (2002 dalam Setiyono, 2012). Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa Bahasa Inggris Pidgin di pantai Tulamben sudah memenuhi criteria untuk bias diangap sebagai Bahasa Pidgin dengan mempertimbangkan fungsi bahasa, struktur bahasa dan ucapan yang digunakan. Sedangkan factor penyebabnya di identifikasi ada tiga faktor, yaitu factor bahasa, ekonomi dan pendidikan. Berdasarkan temuan tersebut maka disarankan kepada Pemda Karangasem untuk menyediakan pendidikan informal kepada para pedagang tersebut untuk meningkatkan kemampuan Bahasa Inggris mereka menjadi Bahasa Inggris standar. Kata Kunci : pantai Tulamben, pidgin This study was a descriptive qualitative study aimed at analysing the characteristics and factors creating Pidgin English used by sellers in Tulamben Beach. There are seven sellers aged 35 – 45 years old as the subjects of this study. The instruments of this study were the researcher, recorder, observation sheet, and interview guide. The collected data were analyzed based on the steps of data analysis proposed by Gale, et al (2013). The analysis of characteristics of Pidgin is based on the theory proposed by Isa, Halilu, & Ahmed (2015) and Holmes (1992). Meanwhile, the analysis of factors creating Pidgin is based on theory proposed by Richard and Schmidt (2002, in Setiyono, 2012). This study found that Pidgin in Tulamben Beach has fulfilled the criteria of being pidgin which were considered from its language function, structure and pronunciation. There were three factors creating Pidgin in Tulamben, namely language, economic, and educational factors. Related to these findings, it is suggested that the government of Karangasem Regency should provide the sellers informal education in order to improve their English to be Standard English. keyword : pidgin, Tulamben beach

Abstract

Perkembangan mobile technology telah mempengaruhi setiap aspek kehidupan manusia. Penggunaan mobile technology seperti smartphone dan tablet dalam pendidikan akan mengatasi masalah keterbatasan kesempatan dalam belajar bahasa Inggris di negara-negara dimana bahasa Inggris merupakan bahasa asing. Dengan menggunakan smartphone, siswa dapat mengakses informasi dan mengembangkan informasi tersebut kapanpun dan dimanapun serta membentuk komunitas belajar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui persepsi siswa kelas sepuluh terhadap penggunaan smartphone dalam belajar bahasa Inggris (Mobile Assisted Language Learning/MALL) dan membandingkan persepsi antara siswa yang mempunyai smartphone dengan siswa yang tidak memiliki smartphone di kabupaten Buleleng. 174 siswa di enam sekolah di kabupaten Buleleng digunakan sebagai sampel penelitian. Kuisioner di Unified Theory of Accept and Use Technology (UTAUT) dikembangkan dan digunakan sebagai instrument dalam mengumpulkan data. Persepsi siswa terhadap penggunaan smartphone dalam belajar bahasa Inggris di pengaruhi oleh tiga dimensi yaitu Performance Expectancy, Effort Expectancy, dan Social Influence. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa siswa kelas sepuluh di kabupaten Buleleng mempunyai persepsi yang positif terhadapa penggunaan smartphone dalam belajar bahasa Inggis. Siswa yang mempunyai smartphone cendrung mempunyai persepsi yang lebih positif dari pada siswa yang tidak mempunyai gadget. Dalam penelitian ini, Performance Expectancy adalah factor yang paling kuat dalam menentukan persepsi siswa. Jadi dapat diimplikasikan bahwa pembelajaran bahasa Inggris harus lebih sering mengintegrasikan penggunaan smartphone untuk meningkatkan fungsi dari smartphone dalam mendukung pembelajaran bahasa Inggris. The characteristics of today’s mobile technology (Smartphone) which are wireless, personal, networking, and ubiquitous have influence every aspect of human life. Using mobile technology in learning would decrease learning English problems in EFL setting, including lack of opportunity to learn. By using Smartphone, the learners could access information and develop it across space and connected to the others. This study aimed at investigating tenth grades students’ perception toward Mobile Assisted Language Learning (MALL) in learning English and comparing the perception between the students who had mobile technology and the students who had no mobile technology in Buleleng regency. This study was quantitative research design which employed Cross-sectional survey as the method. The study involved 174 tenth grades students in six schools in Buleleng regency. The questionnaire on Unified Theory of Accept and Use Technology (UTAUT) was developed and used as instrument of collecting data in this study. The students’ perception toward MALL respected to three dimensions of UTAUT theory (Performance Expectancy, Effort Expectancy, and Social Influence). As the result, tenth grades students in Buleleng regency had positive perception toward MALL in learning English. Students who had mobile technology tend to have more positive perception rather than students who had no mobile technology. This study also confirmed that Performance Expectancy was the stronger factor of students’ perception on MALL in learning English. Thus, MALL should be integrated in learning English process since it is perceived to be useful in students’ performance in learning English. keyword : Perception, Mobile technology, m-learning, MALL, UTAUT.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan yang signifikan yang terjadi antara preferensi gaya belajar persepsi dan pemahaman bacaan siswa dari siswa kelas dua belas di SMA N 2 Amlapura. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif yang menjelaskan korelasi antara dua variabel, gaya belajar perspsi sebagai variabel bebas dan pemahaman membaca siswa sebagai variabel terikat. Populasi dari penelitian ini adalah semua siswa kelas dua belas di SMAN N 2 Amlapura yang terdiri dari 278 siswa. Sampel ditentukan dengan menggunakan teknik random sampling dan mendapatkan 72 siswa sebagai sampel. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis statistik deskriptif dan inferensial. Rerata pemahaman siswa membaca yang diambil dari nilai tes membaca mereka adalah 79,86. Analisis statistik inferensial dalam penelitian ini adalah menggunakan Point-Biserial koefisien korelasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa semua Sig. dari gaya belajar persepsi yaitu 0,289 (Visual), 0,906 (Auditory), 0,546 (Kinestetik), 0.271 (Tactile), 0.382 (Group) dan 0,057 (Individual) dan semuanya lebih rendah dari tingkat signifikan (0,05). Nilai Sig. menunjukkan tidak adanya korelasi yang signifikan antara preferensi gaya belajar persepsi dan pemahaman membaca siswa dari siswa kelas dua belas di SMA N 2 Amlapura. Hasil juga menunjukkan bahwa hanya gaya belajar individu yang memiliki hubungan positif lemah (r = 0,226). gaya belajar kinestetik adalah gaya belajar yang banyak digunakan oleh siswa (30,5%).Kata Kunci : korelasi, preferensi gaya belajar persepsi, pemahaman membaca siswa This study aimed at investigating the correlation between perceptual learning style preference and student’s reading comprehension of twelfth grade students in SMA N 2 Amlapura. This study was descriptive quantitative which described on the correlation between two variables, perceptual learning style as the independent variable and students’ reading comprehension as the dependent variable. The population of this study was all of twelfth grade students in SMAN N 2 Amlapura which were consisted of 278 students. The sample was determined by using random sampling technique and got 72 students as sample. The data was analysed by using descriptive and inferential statistical analysis. The mean of student reading comprehension which was taken from their reading test score was 79.86. The inferential statistical analysis in this study used Point-Biserial Correlation coefficient. The results of this study shows that all Sig. of learning style were 0.289 (Visual), 0.906 (Auditory), 0.546 (Kinesthetic), 0.271 (Tactile), 0.382 (Group) and 0.057 (Individual) and all of Sig. values were over than level of significant (0.05). The value of Sig. shows there is no significant correlation perceptual learning style preference and students’ reading comprehension of twelfth grade students at SMA N 2 Amlapura. The result also shows that there was only individual learning style which has weak positive relationship (r = 0.226). Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adanya pengaruh signifikan terhadap kompetensi menulis siswa antara siswa yang diajar dengan menerapkan pembelajaran pengalaman dan mereka yang diajar dengan menggunakan pembelajaran konvensional. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimental dengan rancangan kelompok posttest hanya sebagai metode penelitian. Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI SMA N 1 Singaraja pada tahun ajaran 2017/2018. Penelitian ini menggunakan cluster random sampling untuk mengetahui sampel. Ada 27 siswa XI MIA 5 yang ditugaskan sebagai kelompok eksperimen yang diajar dengan menggunakan pengalaman belajar dan 26 siswa XI MIA 6 diobati sebagai kelompok kontrol yang diajar dengan menggunakan pembelajaran konvensional. Data turunan dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis statistik deskriptif dan inferensial. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa siswa dalam kelompok eksperimen mencapai hasil yang lebih baik sehingga siswa dalam kelompok kontrol. Temuan tersebut diyakinkan oleh hasil kelompok eksperimen yaitu 87,52, sedangkan skor rata-rata kelompok kontrol adalah 81,23. Selanjutnya, hasil analisis statistik inferensial juga membuktikan pernyataan di atas, yang merupakan hasil tob adalah 4,107 dan nilai tcv adalah 1,6579. Ini menunjukkan bahwa nilai tob lebih tinggi daripada tcv. Karena tob lebih tinggi daripada tcv, hipotesisnya diterima. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap kompetensi menulis siswa kelas XI SMA N 1 Singaraja yang diajar dengan menggunakan pengalaman belajar. Kata Kunci : kompetensi menulis, pengalaman belajar This study aims to investigate whether or not there is a significant effect of students’ writing competence between students who were taught by implementing experiential learning and those who were taught by using conventional learning. This was an experimental research with posttest only group design as the research method. The populations of this study were the eleventh-grade students of SMA N 1 Singaraja in academic year 2017/2018. This research administered cluster random sampling to determine the sample. There were 27 students of XI MIA 5 assigned as the experimental group who were taught by using experiential learning and 26 students of XI MIA 6 were treated as the control group who were taught by using conventional learning. The derived data were analyzed by using descriptive as well as inferential statistics analysis. The result of the data analysis showed that students in experimental group achieved better result that students in control group. The findings were convinced by the result of descriptive statistics analysis which showed the mean score of experimental group was 87.52, meanwhile the mean score of control group was 81.23. Furthermore, the result of the inferential statistics analysis also proven statement above, which the result of tob was 4.107 and the value of tcv was 1.6579. It showed that the value of tob was higher than the tcv. Since the tob was higher than the tcv, the hypothesis is accepted. It can be concluded that there was significant effect of students’ writing competence of the eleventh-grade students of SMA N 1 Singaraja who were taught by using experiential learning. keyword : experiential leaning, writing competence.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskrisikan jenis kalimat dan strategi tindak tutur permintaan lokusi dan perlokusi dari tindak tutur permintaan (request acts) diantara siswa pelajar bahasa inggris sebagai bahasa asing. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa Sekolah Menengah Atas di kelas bahasa Inggris sebagai bahasa asing. Data penelitian ini dikumpulkan dengan mengobservasi simulasi percakapan yang dilakukan siswa melalui bermain peran dengan lima situasi sosial yang berbeda. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dideskripsikan dengan cara identifikasi, pengelompokan, dan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa siswa lebih sering menggunakan kalimat pertanyaan untuk menyatakan permintaan daripada kalimat pernyataan dan perintah. Namun, siswa lebih sering menggunakan kalimat pernyataan untuk merespon permintaan. Strategi yang lebih dominan digunakan oleh siswa adalah query prepatory dan tidak ada satupun siswa menggunakan mild hint strategi dalam membuat kalimat permintaan. Selanjutnya, strategi tindak tutur permintaan perlokusi lebih didominasi oleh strategi penolakan, khususnya strategi penolakan tidak langsung. Penelitian ini dibatasi oleh simulasi percakapan melalui permainan peran yang mengacu pada lima situasi. Kata Kunci : tindak lokusi, tindak perlokusi, jenis kalimat, dan strategi This study was aimed at describing locutionary acts, perlocutionary acts ( sentence types/forms) and request strategies among the English as Foreign Language students. The research used a descriptive qualitative design. The subjects of this study were senior high school students in EFL class at Sekolah Menengah Atas Negeri 1 Kuta Utara.The data of this study were collected by observing simulated speech role play encounters under five different social situations.The collected data were analyzed descriptively through identifying and classifying locutionary acts, perlocutionary acts and request strategies and drawing a conclusion. The result of this study showed that the students more frequently used interrogative sentences than imperative and declarative sentences in performing a request act. On the other hand, they most frequently used declarative sentences in responding a request. The strategy that was dominantly used by the students was query preparatory and none of them used mild hint strategy in making the request. Finally, perlocutionary request act strategieswere dominated by refusal strategies, especially indirect strategy. This study was limited to the use of simulated role play encounters in five situations.keyword : locutionary acts, perlocutionary acts,sentences types (foms), and strategy.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilaksanakan untuk mengetahui pengaruh signifikan penggunaan media jigsaw puzzle board game terhadap prestasi belajar Bahasa Inggris siswa kelas empat sekolah dasar di Kampung Baru pada tahun ajaran 2015/2016. Penelitian ini merupakan kuasi-eksperimen dengan desain post-test only, non equivalent control group. Jumlah populasi penelitian ini adalah 163 siswa dari enam sekolah dasar di Kampung Baru. Dari jumlah populasi tersebut, penelitian ini menggunakan sampel 58 siswa dari SD Negeri 3 Kampung Baru sebagai kelas kontrol dan SD Negeri 5 Kampung Baru sebagai kelas eksperimen yang ditentukan dengan teknik cluster random sampling. Selanjutnya, data hasil penelitian yang diperoleh dianalisis secara kuantitatif dengan menggunakan analisis statistik deskriptif dan inferensial. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dari nilai rata-rata kelas kontrol (80,50>72,93). Selain itu, hasil tes hipotesis (independent t-test) menunjukkan bahwa tobs = 2,810>tcv= 2,003 (α=0,05) dengan ukuran efek 0,75 (kategori sedang sampai kuat). Hal tersebut menunjukkan bahwa ada pengaruh signifikan dari penggunaan jigsaw puzzle board game terhadap prestasi belajar siswa. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa jigsaw puzzle board game efektif untuk digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran terhadap prestasi belajar siswa karena media ini memudahkan siswa untuk memahami materi pelajaran, menciptakan suasana belajar yang menyenangkan, mengurangi kecemasan, meningkatkan motivasi dan partisipasi, dan memberikan kesempatan kepada siswa untuk berinteraksi satu sama lain. It was a quasi-experimental research which used post-test only, non equivalent control group design. The population of this study was 163 students from six elementary schools in Kampung Baru. From that population, this research used 58 students as sample consisted of SD Negeri 3 Kampung Baru as control group and SD Negeri 5 Kampung Baru as experimental group which were administered by cluster random sampling technique. The data were analyzed quantitatively by using descriptive and inferential statistics analysis. It was found that the mean score of experimental group was higher than the control group (80.50>72.93). Besides, the result of hypothesis testing (independent t-test) showed the tobs = 2.810>tcv= 2.003 (α=0.05) with the effect size 0.75 (categorized as moderate to strong). It means that there is a significant effect of jigsaw puzzle board game towards the students’ English achievement. As a conclusion, jigsaw puzzle board game is effective to be used as teaching media towards the students’ English learning achievement because it eases the students to comprehend the material, creates joyful learning atmosphere, decreases anxiety, increases students’ motivation and participation, as well as allows students to interact with others.keyword : English learning achievement, jigsaw puzzle board game, young learners

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meneliti persepsi guru dan siswa kelas 4 sekolah dasar dalam menggunakan Permainan Interaktif berbasis ICT. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan menggunakan survey sebagai metode penelitian. Populasi dari penelitian ini adalah enam guru Bahasa Inggris dan 179 siswa kelas 4 sekolah dasar di Gugus IV dan V di Kecamatan Sukasada, Kabupaten Buleleng, tahun ajaran 2016/2017. Sekolah yang digunakan antara lain SD Negeri 1 Sukasada, SD Negeri 2 Sukasada, SD Negeri 3 Sukasada, SD Negeri 1 Panji, SD Negeri 2 Panji, and SD Negeri 3 Sambangan. Penelitan ini menggunakan sampel jenuh untuk menentukan sampel penelitian, dimana seluruh populasi menjadi sampel dalam penelitian ini. Data diperoleh melalui penyebaran kuisioner yang diukur dengan 3-point Likert scale. Data yang diperoleh dari guru adalah persepsi guru dalam menggunakan Permainan Interaktif berbasis ICT sebagai media pembelajaran. Sementara itu, data yang diperoleh dari siswa berupa persepsi siswa dalam menggunakan Permainan Interaktif berbasis ICT dalam motivasi belajar siswa dan prestasi siswa dalam belajar Bahasa Inggris. Hasil dari data yang diperoleh kemudian di analisis untuk mendapatkan persentase dari kuisioner. Temuan hasil analisis menunjukkan 99,17% guru setuju dengan penggunaan Permainan Interaktif berbasis ICT sebagai media pengajaran. Selanjutnya, 81,92% siswa setuju dengan penggunaan Permainan Interaktif berbasis ICT pada motivasi belajar siswa dan 79,17% pada prestasi belajar Bahasa Inggris siswa. Temuan ini berarti bahwa guru Bahasa Ingris dan siswa kelas 4 sekolah dasar di Gugus IV dan V di Kecamatan Sukasada, Kabupaten Buleleng, tahun ajaran 2016/2017memiliki persepsi positif terhadap penggunaan Permainan Interaktif berbasis ICT.Kata Kunci : motivasi belajar, permainan interaktif berbasis ICT, persepsi, prestasi belajar Bahasa Inggris The study aimed at investigating elementary school English teachers’ and 4th grade students’ perception on the use of ICT based Interactive Game. This was a quantitative research with survey as the research method. The population was six English teachers and 179 4th grade students from six elementary schools in cluster IV and V in Sukasada District, Buleleng Regency in academic year 2016/2017. The schools were SD Negeri 1 Sukasada, SD Negeri 2 Sukasada, SD Negeri 3 Sukasada, SD Negeri 1 Panji, SD Negeri 2 Panji, and SD Negeri 3 Sambangan. This research administered saturated sampling to determine the sample, in which all members of the population became the sample of the study. The data were collected by using questionnaire measured by 3-point Likert scale. The data collected from the English teachers were the teachers’ perception on the use of ICT based Interactive Game as teaching media. Meanwhile, the data collected from the students were students’ perception on the use of ICT based Interactive Game on their learning motivation and English learning achievement. The result of the derived data were analyzed by using Microsoft Office Excel in order to find the percentages and averages of each dimension of the questionnaires. The findings showed that 99.17% teachers agreed on the use of ICT based Interactive Game as teaching media. Furthermore, 81.92% students agreed on the use of ICT based Interactive Game on learning motivation and 79.17% on English learning achievement. It means that elementary school English teachers and 4th grade students in cluster IV and V in Sukasada District in academic year 2016/2017 had positive perception on the use of ICT based Interactive Game.keyword : English learning achievement, ICT based Interactive Game, learning motivation, perception
