Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah ada pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap kompetensi menulis siswa yang diajar dengan Pictionary game yang diintegrasikan dengan Board Race game. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen semu. Sampel penelitian diperoleh dengan cara cluster random sampling dan diperoleh kelas V di SD Negeri 1 Lokapaksa sebagai kelompok kontrol dan SD Negeri 3 Lokapaksa sebagai kelompok eksperimen. Kelompok eksperimen diajar dengan menggunakan Pictionary game yang diintegrasikan dengan Board Race game, sedangkan kelompok kontrol diajar dengan menggunakan strategi konvensional. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah skenario pengajaran dan post-test. Penelitian experimen ini mengimplementasikan desain penelitian post-test only control group. Data yang diperoleh kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif dan inferensial. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kelompok siswa di kelas eksperimen mampu menunjukkan hasil yang lebih baik daripada kelompok siswa kelas control. Hal ini dapat dibuktikan dari hasil t-test dimana nilai tobs adalah 2.816, sedangkan nilai tcv adalah 1.666 (tobs > tcv). Hal ini berarti bahwa penggunaan Pictionary game yang diintegrasikan dengan Board Race game mampu memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan pada kemampuan menguasai grammar Bahasa Inggris pada siswa kelas lima SD.Kata Kunci : Board Race game, strategi konvensional, penguasaan grammar, Pictionary game This study aimed at investigating whether or not there was a significant effect on the use of Pictionary game integrated with Board Race game as a learning strategy towards the fifth grade students’ grammar mastery. This study was a quasi experimental one. The sample of this study was selected by using cluster random sampling technique and SD Negeri 1 Lokapaksa was decided as a control group while SD Negeri 3 Lokapaksa as an experimental group. The experimental group was taught by using Pictionary game integrated with Board Race game, while the control group was taught by using conventional strategy. The instrument used in this study were teaching scenario and post-test. This experimental research implemented post-test only control group design. The obtained data were analyzed descriptively and inferentially. The result showed that the group of students in experimental group could perform a better result rather than the group of students in the control group. It could be proven from result of the t-test in which the tobs was 2.816, meanwhile the tcv was 1.666 (tobs > tcv). It means that the use of Pictionary game integrated with Board Race game give significant effect toward the fifth grade primary school students’ English grammar mastery.keyword : Board Race game, Conventional strategy, Grammar Mastery, Pictionary game

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian dan pengembangan (R&D) yang bertujuan untuk (1) mengembangkan materi Bahasa Inggris yang dibutuhkan oleh siswa kelas X Jurusan Keperawatan di SMK Negeri 1 Kubutambahan; (2) mengidentifikasi desain materi Bahasa Inggris; dan menentukan (3) kualitas materi Bahasa Inggris yang dikembangkan berdasarkan kriteria dari materi ESP yang baik dan kriteria e-learning yang baik. Penelitian ini dilakukan berdasarkan pada desain penelitian dan pengembangan oleh Lee & Owens (2004). Desain ini meliputi: need analysis, design dan development. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, rekaman, interview, dan uji ahli. Data yang didapatkan dari hasil observasi, rekaman dan interview selama proses need analysis, telah dianalisis secara deskriptif, sedangkan data yang didapatkan dari hasil uji ahli, dianalisis secara kuantitatif dengan mengikuti rumus dari Candiasa (2010). Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa; (1) siswa kelas X Jurusan Keperawatan membutuhkan materi Bahasa Inggris yang spesifik sesuai dengan target pekerjaan yang mereka lakukan di masa depan; (2) materi Bahasa Inggris telah didesain menjadi beberapa unit, yaitu: General Assessment, Handling Patients, Patient’s Hygiene, Checking Vital Signs, dan Dimensions of Symptom; (3) dari hasil uji ahli yang berdasarkan dengan kriteria materi ESP yang baik dan kriteria e-learning yang baik, materi yang dikembangkan tergolong sangat bagus. Kata Kunci : need analysis, e-learning, materi bahasa inggris, R&D This study was a research and development (R&D) was aimed at (1) developing English learning material that are needed by the tenth grade of Nursing Department students at SMK Negeri 1 Kubutambahan; (2) describing the design of English learning material; and finding out (3) the quality of the developed material based on the criteria of good ESP material and good e-learning. This study followed the R&D design by Lee and Owens. This design involves: need analysis, design, and development. This study was conducted at SMK Negeri 1 Kubutambahan, the subjects of the study being the tenth grade of Nursing Department students. The data were collected through observation, recording, interview, and expert judgment. The data from the result of observation, interview and recording during the need analysis process were analyzed descriptively; the data from expert judge were analyzed quantitatively. The result of this study shows that: (1) the tenth grade of Nursing Department students need specific English materials that are related to their future job. The existing syllabus and material did not cover their needs; (2) the materials were designed into some unit based on the data gathered from the need analysis. Those units are: General Assessment, Handling Patients, Patient’s Hygiene, Checking Vital Signs, and Dimensions of Symptom; (3) from the result of the expert judgment based on the criteria of good ESP material and good e-learning material, the developed material was categorized into an excellent material.keyword : need analysis, e-learning, English learning material, R&D

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mengidentifikasi kesalahan dalam terjemahan lirik-lirik lagu pada film La La Land, dan (2) mengelompokkan kesalahan dalam terjemahan lirik-lirik lagu pada film La La Land. Penelitian ini di desain secara deskriptif kualitatif. Ada lima buah lagu yang digunakkan sebagai subjek dari penelitian ini yang berjudul Another Day of Sun, Someone in the Crowd, A Lovely Night, City of Stars, and Audition (The Fools Who Dream). Kesalahan-kesalahan yang terdapat pada terjemahan lirik-lirik lagu merupakan objek dari penelitian ini. Untuk mengambil data digunakan beberapa metode seperti menonton film, membuat catatan, dan mebuat transkripsi. Setelah itu data yang diperoleh dianalisis secara kualitatif. Hasilnya adalah, ditemukan 186 kesalahan pada makna, kealamian, irama dan sajaknya. Terdapat 25 atau 20% kesalahan pada maknanya, 39 atau 31% kesalahan pada kealamiannya, 107 atau 86% kesalahan pada iramanya, dan 15 atau 12% kesalahan pada sajaknya. Secara terperinci, pada lagu Another Day of Sun, ditemukan 10 or 33% kesalahan pada maknanya, 17 atau 56% kesalahan pada keaalamiannya, 29 or 97% kesalahan pada iramanya, dan 5 atau 16% kesalahan pada sajaknya. Pada lagu Someone in the Crowd, ditemukkan 6 atau 24% kesalahan pada maknanya, 7 or 28% kesalahan pada kealamiannya, 25 atau 96% kesalahan pada iramanya, dan 5 atau 20% kesalahan pada sajaknya. Kemudian, pada lagu A Lovely Night, ditemukkan 2 atau 5% kesalahan pada maknanya, 5 atau 14% kesalahan pada kealamiannya, 32 atau 74% kesalahan pada iramanya, dan 2 or 5% kesalahan pada sajaknya. Pada lagu City of Stars, ditemukkan 1 atau 12% kesalahan pada maknanya, 1 atau 12% kesalahan pada kealamiannya, 8 atau 62% kesalahan pada iramanya, dan 0 atau 0% kesalahan pada sajaknya. Yang terkahir pada lagu Audition (The Fools Who Dream), ditemukkan 5 atau 22% kesalahan pada maknanya, 9 atau 33% kesalahan pada kealamiannya, 24 atau 88% kesalahan pada iramanya, dan 3 atau 11% kesalahan pada sajaknya. Permasalah terbanyak dapat ditemukkan pada irama dari lirik- lirik lagu film La La Land dengan 107 (86%) kesalahan. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerjemah lirik lagu pada film La La Land tidak berhasil mempertahankan irama lagu yang menjadi nilai penting pada terjemahan lagu karena adanya perbedaan antara bahasa Indonesia dan bahasa Inggris.Kata Kunci : Terjemahan Audiovisual, terjemahan lagu, subtitle, kesalahan pada terjemahan This study aimed at (1) identifying the errors in the translation of song lyrics in La La Land movie, and (2) classifying the errors in the translation of song lyrics in La La Land movie. This study was designed descriptive qualitatively. There were five songs used as the subjects of the study, namely Another Day of Sun, Someone in the Crowd, A Lovely Night, City of Stars, and Audition (The Fools Who Dream). The errors in the translation of song lyrics were the object of this study. Several methods, namely streaming, note taking, and transcribing were used in gaining the data. The data finding were analyzed qualitatively. It was found that there are 186 errors in terms of sense, naturalness, rhythm, and rhyme that can be identified from the songs. There are 25 or 20% errors in terms of sense, 39 or 31% errors in terms of naturalness, 107 or 86% errors in terms of rhythm, and 15 or 12% errors in terms of rhyme. In detail, in Another Day of Sun, there are 10 or 33% errors found in terms of sense, 17 or 56% errors in terms of naturalness, 29 or 97% errors in terms of rhythm, and 5 or 16% errors in terms of rhyme. In Someone in the Crowd, there are 6 or 24% errors in terms of sense, 7 or 28% errors in terms of naturalness, 25 or 96% errors in terms of rhythm, and 5 or 20% errors in terms of rhyme. Then, in A Lovely Night, there are 2 or 5% errors in terms of sense, 5 or 14% errors in terms of naturalness, 32 or 74% errors in terms of rhythm, and 2 or 5% errors in terms of rhyme. In City of Stars, there are 1 or 12% errors in terms of sense, 1 or 12% errors in terms of naturalness, 8 or 62% errors in terms of rhythm, and 0 or 0% error in terms of rhyme. Last, in Audition (The Fools Who Dream), there are 5 or 22% errors in terms of sense, 9 or 33% errors in terms of naturalness, 24 or 88% errors in terms of rhythm, and found 3 or 11% errors in terms of rhyme. The highest errors can be found in the rhythm of song lyrics with 107 (86%) errors. It can be concluded that the translator was unsuccessful in retain the rhythm of the song that becomes the essential value in song translation because of the gap between Indonesian and English Language.keyword : Audiovisual translation, song translation, subtitle, translation error

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan awalan dan akhiran di Dialek Bahasa Bali Sidetapa yang mengalami derivasi dan infleksi. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Terdapat tiga informan utama dan tiga informan sekunder dalam penelitian ini. Data dikumpulkan berdasarkan empat teknik: teknik observasi, elisitasi, rekaman dan pencatatan. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam mengumpulkan data: daftar kata, alat perekam digital, kamera dan daftar pertanyaan. Ada tiga proses dalam menganalisa data: reduksi data, penggambaran data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukan bahwa ada tiga jenis awalan: {me-}, {N-}, dan {pe-}, dan dua jenis akhiran: {-ng} dan {-e}, yang mengalami proses derivasi pada Dialek Bahasa Bali Sidetapa. Terdapat tiga jenis awalan: {me-}, {N-} dan {a-} dan lima jenis akhiran: {-ng}, {-ne}, {-e}, {-in} dan {-an}, yang mengalami infleksi dalam Dialek Bahasa Bali Sidetapa. Terdapat beberapa fungsi grammar awalan dan akhiran seperti: imbuhan untuk membentuk kata kerja (imperatif), untuk membentuk kata nominal (artikel definitif), untuk membentuk kata bilangan, pembentuk kata kerja aktif, pembentuk kata kerja pasif, dan imbuhan untuk membentuk kata sifat (komparatif).Kata Kunci : proses derivasional, proses infleksional, Dialek Bahasa Bali Sidetapa The study aimed at describing the kinds of prefixes and suffixes in Sidetapa dialect of Balinese that undergo derivation and inflection process. This research was a descriptive qualitative research. There were three main informants and three secondary informants in this research. The data were collected based on four techniques, namely: observation, elicitation, recording, and note taking technique. The data were collected by using some instruments: words list, digital recorder, camera, and questions list. There were three processes in analyzing the data: data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study show that there are three kinds of prefix: {me-}, {pe-} and {N-}, and two kinds of suffix: {-e} and {-ng}, which undergo derivational process in Sidetapa dialect of Balinese. There are three kinds of prefix: {me-}, {N-} and {a-} , and five kinds of suffix: {-ng}, {-ne}, {-e}, {-in} dan {-an}, which undergo inflectional process in the dialect. Abstract

Penelitian R&D ini bertujuan untuk menyajikan spesifikasi dan pengembangan instrumen tes ulangan kenaikan kelas Bahasa Inggris untuk menilai kompetensi pengetahuan siswa kelas 8 berdasarkan penerapan Kurikulum 2013. Spesifikasi tes dirancang berdasarkan 15 kompetensi dasar bidang pengetahuan dalam silabus kurikulum 2013. Pengembangan tes mengikuti enam prosedur pengembangan tes bahasa standar oleh Brown dan Abeywickrama (2010). Akan tetapi, karena keterbatasan penelitian maka pengembangan tes hanya mengikuti 4 prosedur yaitu 1) menentukan objektif dan tujuan tes, 2) merancang kisi-kisi, 3) merancang tes, dan 4) membuat evaluasi yang sesuai terhadap butir soal (validasi, try-out, dan analisis butir). Proses validasi tes melibatkan dua orang ahli yang hasilnya menyatakan tes tersebut memiliki validitas konstruk dan tampilan yang sangat baik. Uji coba dilakukan dua kali dan analisis buti dilakukan terhadap skor tes siswa untuk mendapatkan hasil tingkat kesusahan, daya pembeda, keefektifan pengecoh, dan homogenitas butir soal. Uji reliabilitas dihitung dengan metode Split half dan hasilnya adalah 0,93. Dari 100 butir soal yang awalnya dirancang, 65 butir soal dinyatakan layak untuk test.Kata Kunci : tes ulangan kenaikan kelas, pengembangan tes, analis butir soal, kurikulum 2013 This R&D study was aimed to present the specification and the development of a standard English Language final achievement test instrument to assess the 8th grade students knowledge competency based on the implementation of Curriculum 2013. The specification of the test was designed based on the 15 basic competencies of knowledge competence in the curriculum 2013 syllabus. The test development followed six procedures of developing standard language test by Brown and Abeywickrama (2010). However, because of the limitation of the study the test development only followed 4 procedures namely 1) determining the objective and purpose of the test, 2) designing the test specification, 3) designing the test, and 4) make appropriate evaluation of different kinds of items (validation, try-outs, and item analysis). The test validation process involved two experts and the result showed that the test has a very good construct and face validity. Try out tests were conducted twice and item analysis was conducted on the students’ test score to get the result of the item facility, item discrimination, distractor efficiency, and item homogeneity. The reliability of the test was calculated with Split half method and found to be 0.93. From 100 questions item that initially designed, 65 question items were accepted for the test. keyword : achievement test, test development, item analysis, curriculum 2013

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menjelaskan proses morpologi Dialek Bahasa Bali yang digunakan di Desa Tajen Tabanan. Penelitian ini berbentuk penelitian kualitatif. Data dibagi menjadi tiga domain bahasa, yaitu domain keluarga, domain persahabatan, dan domain lingkungan. Data dikumpulkan berdasarkan metode observasi dan metode wawancara (mendengar dan mencatat). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada dua macam proses prefiksasi dan sufiksasi. Prefiksasi adalah proses yang mengalami tambahan awalan. Awalannya adalah {a -}, {ke-}, {me}, dan {N-}. Sementara sufiksasi adalah proses yang mengalami tambahan akhiran. Akhirannya adalah {-e}, {-an}, {-ang}, {-in}, dan {-n}. Prefiks dan sufiks yang melewati proses derifatif, yaitu: prefik {a-}, {me-}, {N-}: dan sufiks {-an}, {-ang}, dan {-in}. Prefiks dan sufiks yang melewati proses inflektif, yaitu: prefiks {a-}, {me-}, {N-}: dan sufiks {-e}, {-an}, {-in}, {-n}.Terpisah dari ini, ada juga proses morpologi dalam bentuk kata ulang dan kata majemukKata Kunci : prefiks dan sufiks, proses derivatif dan inflektif, kata ulang, kata majemuk This study aimed at describing morphological processes of Balinese Dialect in Tajen village Tabanan. Prefixation is a process which undergoes an additional prefixes.The prefixes are {a-},{ke-}, {me-}, and {N-}. Meanwhile suffixation is a process which undergoes additional suffixes. The suffixes are {-e}, {-an}, {-ang}, {-in}, and {-n}. The prefixes and suffixes that undergo derivation process include: prefix {ke-}, {me-}, and {N-}; and suffix {-an}, {-ang}, {-in}. The prefixes and suffixes that undergo inflection process include: prefix {a-}, {me-}, {N-}; and suffix {-e}, {-an}, {-in}, {-n}. Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis materi pembelajaran yang direncanakan dalam buku teks siswa yang berjudul "When English Rings a Bell", dan dalam rencana pembelajaran untuk siswa kelas tujuh, dan penerapan materi pembelajaran dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar. Bahan pembelajaran dianalisis dalam hal jenis tindak tutur utama dan spesifik serta penggunaan tindak tutur dan tempat tindak tutur. Subjek penelitian ini terdiri dari rencana pelajaran, buku siswa, dan seorang guru bahasa Inggris. Desain penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Data dikumpulkan dari dokumen, wawancara, dan observasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan sebagai berikut. Pertama, bahan yang didasarkan pada 2013 Kurikulum seperti yang direncanakan dalam buku siswa yaitu: directive dengan sub tipe questioning dan ordering, assertive dengan sub tipe stating dan describing, commisisve dengan sub tipe offering, eexpressive dengan sub tipe greeting, thanking, apologizing, feeling, dan taking leave. Fungsi tindak tutur yaitu interactional, personal, heuristik, instrumental, informative, dan attention getting. Tempat tindak tutur yaitu formal, informal, dan non-formal. Jenis tindak tutur utama dan spesifik serta penggunaan tindak tutur dan tempat tindak tutur dalam buku sama seperti dalam rencana pembelajaran. Kedua, materi pembelajaran dilaksanakan sepenuhnya didasarkan pada rencana pelajaran. Hasil menyiratkan bahwa asertif, direktif, commisive dan ekspresif harus direncanakan dalam bahan dan guru belajar harus menumbuhkan kompetensi komunikatif siswa dan berusaha untuk memberikan mereka kesempatan lebih untuk berlatih menggunakan tindak tutur dalam Bahasa Inggris.Kata Kunci : Rencana Pembelajaran, Materi Pembelajaran, Tindak Tutur The objectives of this study were to analyze the learning materials planned in the students’ textbook entitled “When English Rings a Bell”, and in the lesson plans for the seventh grade students, and the implementation of the learning materials in the teaching learning activity. The learning materials were analyzed in the terms of the main and specific speech act types as well as speech use and speech setting. Subjects studied consisted of lesson plan, students’ book, and the English teacher. The design of this study was descriptive qualitative. The data were collected from document, interview, and observation. The results show the following. First, learning materials based on the 2013 Curriculum as planned in the students’ book namely: directive with the sub type questioning and ordering, assertive with the sub type stating and describing, commisisve with the sub type offering, expressive with the sub type greeting, thanking, apologizing, feeling, and taking leave. The speech uses were interactional, personal, heuristic, instrumental, informative, and attention getting. The settings were formal, informal, and non-formal. These speech acts, specific speech acts, speech use, and speech setting were found are same as in lesson plans. Second, the learning material implemented wholly based on the lesson plans. The results imply that assertive, directive, commisive and expressive should planned in learning materials and teacher should cultivate the students’ communicative competence and attempt to give them opportunities to practice more English speech acts. keyword : Lesson Plans, Learning Materials, Speech Acts

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan penggunaan instruksional media dari guru laki-laki dan perempuan bahasa Inggris pada saat mengajar speaking di kelas 7 di SMP Negeri 2 Singaraja dan SMPN 4 Singaraja. Skripsi ini deksriptif kualitatif, yang di bagi menjadi dua guru laki-laki dan dua guru perempuan bahasa Inggris. Penelitian deskriptif kualitatif ini menggunakan teory dari Vernon. Di dalam teori tersebut terdapat lima kategori, diantaranya (1) Drawing, (2) Still Picture, (3) Audio Recording, (4) Motian Picture and TV, (5) Real Object, Simulation, and Models. Metode yag digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah observasi, catatan, dan interview untuk melengkapi data yang di dapat. Adapun penemuan akhir dalam penelitian ini adalah adanya perbedaan antara guru laki-laki dan perempuan di kedua sekolah tersebut dalam menggunakan media. di SMPN 2 Singaraja, guru laki-laki lebih dominan menggunakan media dalam proses belajar dan mengajar. Kemudian di SMPN 4 Singaraja guru perempuan yang lebih dominan menggunakan media dibandingkan guru laki-lakinya. Guru laki-laki di SMPN 2 Singaraja menggunakan tiga jenis tipe media, diantaranya still picture, audio recording, dan real object, simulation and models. Sedangkan guru perempuannya hanya menggunakan satu jenis media saja yaitu real object, simulation, dan models. Hal itu juga sama seperti guru laki-laki di SMPN 4 Singaraja hanya menggunakan satu jenis media yaitu real object, simulation, dan models. Untuk guru perempuannya menggunakan dua jenis media diataranya still picture, real object, simulation, dan models. Kata Kunci : intruksional media, sekolah, guru laki-laki dan guru perempuan This study aimed describing the instructional media used by male and female English teachers’ in teaching speaking in grade 7 at SMPN 2 Singaraja and SMPN 4 Singaraja. This research was qualitative descriptive, which involved 2 males and 2 females English teachers. This qualitative descriptive research used the theory by Vernon. There were five categories of this theory, they are (1) Drawing, (2) Still Picture, (3) Audio Recording, (4) Motion Picture and TV, (5) Real Object, Simulation, and Models. This study used the instruments of observation sheet, field note and interview guide to supported the data. The finding reveals that there is a difference between male and female in used media in both schools. At SMPN 2 Singaraja, male teacher more dominant used instructional media in the teaching and learning process. But, at SMPN 4 Singaraja female teacher more dominant in used instructional media. Male teacher at SMPN 2 Singaraja used three instructional media that was still picture, audio recording, and real object, simulation, models. While female teacher only used one instructional media that was real object, simulation, and models. It seemed like male teacher at SMPN 4 Singaraja also only used instructional media, that was real object, simulation, and models. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan perubahan bahasa dari dialek Gelgel ke dialek Tampekan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskripsi kualitatif. Peneliatian ini mengambil tempat di desa Gelgel, kecamatan Klungkung, kabupaten Klungkung dan di desa Tampekan, kecamatan Banjar, kabupaten Buleleng. Ada tiga informan yang dipilih ditiap desa. Satu orang sebagai informan yang utama, dua orang lainnya sebagai informan yang membantu. Data dianalisis berdasarkan teori tipe perubahan bahasa yang disarankan oleh Crowley (1992), Keraf (1996), and Fruehwald (2013). Data diperoleh berdasarkan daftar kata Swadesh dan daftar kata Nothofer. Hasil dari data analisis menunjukan bahwa ada 8 kata yang mengalami aphaeresis (menghilangnya fonem di depan kata), 10 kata yang mengalami syncope (menghilangnya fonem di tengah kata), 2 kata yang mengalami apocope (menghilangnya fonem diakhir kata), 7 kata yang mengalami haplology (menghilangnya suku kata dalam sebuah kata), 7 kata yang mengalami epenthesis (penambahan fonem di depan kata), 2 kata yang mengalami prosthesis (penambahan ditengah kata), 4 kata yang mengalami paragoge (penambahan fonem di akhir kata), 6 kata yang mengalami assimilation (sebuah fonem yang mengubah fonem lainnya dan terdengan mirip), and 7 kata yang mengalami dissimilation (perubahan fonem yang tidak mirip dari sebelumnya).Kata Kunci : fonologi, perubahan bunyi, dan dialek. This study aimed at describing the phonological changes from Gelgel dialect to Tampekan dialect. This study is a descriptive qualitative study. It took place in Gelgel village, Klungkung district, Klungkung regency and Tampekan village, Banjar district, Buleleng regency. There were three informants selected in each dialect. One person was appointed as main informant, and the other two were determined as the supporting informants. The data were analyzed based on the theory of types of phonological changes suggested by Crowley (1992), Keraf (1996), and Fruehwald (2013).The data were collected based on two wordlists, namely Swadesh and Nothofer. The result of data analysis showed that there are 8 words which undergoing aphaeresis (loss of the phoneme in the beginning of the word), 10 words which undergoing syncope (loss of the phoneme in the middle of word), 2 words which undergoing apocope (loss of the phoneme in the final of the word), 7 words which undergoing haplology (loss of syllable in the word), 7 words which undergoing epenthesis (addition in the middle word position), 2 words which undergoing prosthesis (addition in the initial word position), 4 words which undergoing paragoge (addition in the final word position), 6 words which undergoing assimilation (one phoneme changes another phoneme to be more similar), and 9 words which undergoing dissimilation (a sound change to be unlike the sound before it).keyword : Keywords: Phonology, Phonological Changes, Dialect

Abstract

Tujuan utama dari penelitian ini adalah untuk meneliti apakah ada efek yang signifikan dari pengguanaan snake and ladder board game terhadap prestasi belajar bahasa Inggris pebelajar anak-anak, terutama siswa-siswi sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini adalah sebuah penelitian eksperimen dengan menggunakan post-test only control group design. Populasi dari penelitian ini adalah semua siswa kelas empat di sekolah dasar Sukasada, kabupaten Buleleng tahun ajaran 2015/2016. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling untuk memilih sampel. Ada dua kelas yang terpilih sebagai sampel, SD Negeri 2 Sukasada sebagai kelompok kontrol dan SD Negeri 3 Sukasada sebagai kelompok eksperimen. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis statistik deskriptif dan inferensial. Hasil-hasil memperlihatkan bahwa rata-rata dari kelompok kontrol yang diajar mengguanakan teknik konvensional adalah 79.6 dan rata-rata dari kelompok eksperimen yang diajar menggunakan snake and ladder board game adalah 84.1. Hasil dari penghitungan sampel independen t-test menunjukan nilai dari tobs (t observation) adalah 4.791 dimana tcv (t critical value) dalam signifikansi alfa 0.05 (5%) dan tingkat kebebasan 62 adalah 1.998. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa snake and ladder board game memberikan efek yang signifikan terhadap prestasi belajar bahasa Inggris siswa kelas empat sekolah dasar di Sukasada, Kabupaten Buleleng tahun ajar 2015/2016.Kata Kunci : Prestasi belajar bahasa Inggris, snake and ladder board game, pebelajar anak-anak The main purpose of this research is to investigate whether there is any significant effect of snake and ladder board game on young learners’ English learning achievement, especially the fourth grade students of elementary school. This research was an experimental research using post-test only control group design. The population of this study was 103 fourth grade students of elementary school in Sukasada, Buleleng regency in academic year 2015/2016. This research used cluster random sampling technique to choose the samples. There were two classes as the samples, SD Negeri 2 Sukasada as the control group and SD Negeri 3 Sukasada as the experimental group. The data were analyzed by using descriptive and inferential statistic analysis. The results showed that the mean score of control group that was taught by conventional technique was 79.6 and the mean score of experimental group that was taught by snake and ladder board game was 84.1. The result of the independent sample t-test calculation showed the value of tobs (t observed) was 4.791 where the tcv (t critical value) in alpha significance 0.05 (5%) and the degree of freedom 62 was 1.998. It could be inferred that the tobs (t observed) was higher than the tcv (t critical value). It can be concluded that snake and ladder board game gives the significant effect on students’ English learning achievement of the fourth grade students of elementary school in Sukasada, Buleleng regency in 2015/2016 academic year.keyword : English learning achievement, snake and ladder board game, young learners
