Abstract

This classroom action research was conducted to improve the learning outcomes of Civics by applying the cooperative model of Think Pair Share (TPS) type on V grade students that consists of 24 students. Improving PKN learning outcomes by applying cooperative learning model Think Pair Share (TPS). Factors that led to the improvement of Civics learning outcomes with the application of Think Pair Share (TPS) Student Class V SDN 003 Bangkinang. The research subjects of Grade V students are 24 students. The result of the research is the improvement of learning result before the action is done to cycle I and II. Before the students' learning outcomes were classified as "Low" with a percentage of 41.7%, there was an increase in cycle I with a percentage of 62.5% "High". While the students' learning outcomes in cycle II an increase with the percentage of 91.7% "Very High", evidenced by the application of Think Pair Share (TPS) can improve the learning outcomes of Civics Student Class V SDN 003 Bangkinang. It can be seen from the increasing student activity in the learning process by applying Think Pair Share (TPS). then it can be with the application of Think Pair Share (TPS) can increase student learning outcomes of grade V SD 003 Bangkinang.

Abstract

This study stems from the writer's anxiety about the low ability of spatial students in SMA YPK Medan. The low spatial ability was caused by the ineffectiveness of the learning applied by the teacher. The purpose of this study was to describe the data of students' spatial ability improvement as a result of the application of inquiry learning model. This research was a quasi experimental research with a design used was pretest posttest control group design. The sample of this research were 69 students of SMA YPK Medan. Data to be collected in this research was the data of students' spatial ability. The instrument used to collect the data was a spatial ability test. The data were collected then analyzed by using one-way ANOVA in SPSS program. From result of SPSS obtained data Fcount> Ftable, that is 8,945 > 3,973 and Sig. < , that is 0,04 < 0,05. Based on the results of data analysis could be concluded that the improvement of spatial ability of students who received inquiry learning was higher than the improvement of spatial ability that gets regular learning.

Abstract

A water rocket is one of the simple types of props that comprise many science concepts. Manufacturing the water rocket is simple but every movement of water rocket launch needs high analysis. This research aims to design a scheme of water rocket props and to analyze the factors that affect the furthest distance of the water rocket launch. Some science concepts in the water rocket launch are examined. The results represent that throwing at 45-degree angle produces the furthest distance. The shape of the water rocket's propeller is a trapezoid with a total of 3 propellers. The results also can be used as a reference material for teachers in conveying science knowledge so the learning science will be more concrete and fun, especially in primary school.

Abstract

The learning process in the chemistry for junior high school course emphasizes the concept discovery process, so inquiry learning is one alternative solution that can be done. The purpose of this study is to develop inquiry-based chemistry for junior high school course modules along with performance assessment. This research includes development research (Research and Development) which is generally divided into three stages, namely draft development, validation, and readability test. In the development phase of the draft module, a questionnaire, observation, and documentation technique were selected, in addition to the literature review (theory and previous research). The validation stage used validation sheets and interviews. In the readability, the phase uses the module readability questionnaire. The results showed that the developed and valid SMP chemistry modules were used from the aspects of objectives to be achieved, writing approach, truth, and depth of concepts, language clarity, the suitability of inquiry models with learning stages, physical appearance and appropriateness of performance appraisal with the learning process if the module was applied. The readability test results show that students give positive responses to the module in terms of their interest in content and appearance, renewability of content, interest in solving problems, ease of understanding the content and direction of completion.

Abstract

This research aimed at improving mathematical literacy among vocational high school students. The subject was students in class X. This qualitative research used tests, observation sheets, questionnaires, and interviews. The result shows that there was a limitation in our brain to process complex contents. Therefore, according to cognitive load theory, in the studying process, the teacher should minimize intrinsic cognitive load and stimulate germane cognitive theory, thus improving students' literacy.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to obtain a learning tool of curved side room learning materials based problem-solving ability and local cultural wisdom for students of class IX Junior High School in Merauke City that meet valid, effective, and practical criteria. This type of research is development research with 4D model design (Define, Designed, Develop, Disseminate). The subjects of the study were the students of class IX of SMP Negeri 9 Merauke. The resulting learning tools were tested and experimented using the posttest only control group design. The result of this research is obtained learning tools of curved side room learning-based problem-solving ability and local cultural wisdom that fulfill valid, practical, and effective criteria. Learning tools produced are student books, Student Activity Sheets (LKS), and Lesson Plans (RPP). The results of the device test show the students' mathematics problem-solving ability is better than the control class with an average score of 61.81 versus 52.57. Hypothesis testing using independent sample t-test shows Ho is rejected with the t count value of 3.049 which means that problem-solving ability using local culture learning tools is better using conventional learning devices.

Abstract

Modern technology causes environmental problems and climate change. An eco-friendly school becomes one of the solutions to that problem in Indonesia. However, the program has not been effective for society to change their attitude and behavior. This research aims to find an appropriate solution using several steps; to analyze students’ scientific attitude and environmental knowledge; to analyze the role of teacher and parents; and to formulate an action to increase students’ scientific attitude. This descriptive qualitative research results on students’ scientific attitude that changes the behavior in daily life, measured by using a particular indicator. This needs the cooperation between teachers and parents to support changes in students’ characters

Abstract

General Physics is one of the compulsory subjects not only for the Physics Education program but also for others including the Biology Education program. General Physics encompasses a wide range of materials that require a practicum. Unfortunately, not all laboratories could facilitate and had supporting tools for such practicum activities. It was believed that simple props can be used in learning activities especially to explain the concept of subject matter found in everyday life. This study aimed to determine the quality of General Physics learning by using simple media of learning in the Biology Education program, University of Papua. The research was conducted through the stages of Lesson Study activities namely Preparation Phase (Plan), Implementation (Do), and Reflection (See) in each cycle. The data was obtained through observation and video recordings during the learning activities. The results show that the quality of learning including the activities, cooperation, and mastery of the subject matter by the students are increasing in each cycle.

Abstract

This study aimed to design and implement the results of the video design of SOP Types - Types of Research for Lecture Research Methodology Based on Infographic Animation. The development of this video aimed to provide information about the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) Research to all academics who are studying educational research methodology. The method used was research and development. The model used in building this technology was the ADDIE Model. The stages in the ADDIE model are Analysis (analysis), Design (design), Development (development), Implementation (implementation), and Evaluation (evaluation). The final result of this project is in the form of an animated video containing several Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) that have been selected to create animated videos. This animated video can display animation in 2 dimensions. This animated video can also be used as a medium for delivering information to be more interesting. However, this article only discussed the results of expert test analysis, which includes: analysis of content experts and analysis media experts.
