Abstract

Books are important world windows in human life. However, receiving a book that is only considered as something normal is not necessary if it is not read. Reading is very important for everyone. By reading, science will increase and be able to increase knowledge and insight. However, this reading activity has not been done much, especially for students. The benefits of reading for early childhood can add vocabulary, train children's memory, practice coordination, train child safety, develop children's interests, gather interest in reading children, recognize simple writing, recognize and understand letters, add child words, communicate quickly. The expected goal in the development of Bupis is to realize the School Literacy Movement to welcome Baku Gernas in Dahlia Cluster, Parakan District, Temanggung Regency. After Bupis development activities were carried out, the results of the teacher's skills showed the percentage of the suitability of the contents of the reading with the theme before the action was carried out by 65.7% can be increased to 80.7% after guidance was carried out. On other indicators, namely word selection of 69.4% increased to 77.8%. While the results of observations of children's reading interest in the indicator of children taking time to read every day increased from 61.4% to 85.7%, and indicators of pleasure when reading increased from 57.8% to 100%. Based on the description in the discussion, it can be concluded that the development of Bupis can improve teacher skills and increase children's reading interest. The teacher who initially did not have the skills in making Bupis, with guidance that supports the teacher is able to improve skills in making Bupis in accordance with the theme of learning in PAUD institutions, the choice of words in making Bupis is also adjusted to the development budget by the child. The skills of teachers in developing Bupis with indicators averaged 79.25%. Development of Bupis can also increase children's reading interest. Children who originally did not have the interest to read because of the absence of library facilities and other sources of information, with the existence of Bupis children's reading interest can be supported by an average indicator of 92.85%. Key words: Bupis, Literasi, Gernas Baku

Abstract

The purposes of this reasearch are 1) describing the efforts of increasing the elementary school 1 Pasar Banggi teachers pedagogic competence in order to increase the students learning motivation at the first semester of 2018/2019 academic year by class visitation technique of academic supervision and 2) analysing the increase of increasing the elementary school 1 Pasar Banggi teachers pedagogic competence in order to increase the students learning motivation at the first semester of 2018/2019 academic year by class visitation technique of academic supervision. The type of this research is School Action Research (SAR). The action of this research is class visitation. The place of this research is the elementary school 1 Pasar Banggi, Subdistrict of Rembang, Regency of Rembang. The time of this research is the early first semester of 2018/2019 academic year. The subjects of this research are the class teachers (CT) and the subject teachers (ST) in the elementary school 1 Pasar Banggi, Subdistrict of Rembang, Regency of Rembang, consist of six CT and three ST. The technique of collecting data is using nontest technique. The tools of collecting data are using the sheets of observation and documentation. The data of this research is including teachers pedagogic competence in order to increase the students learning motivation. The data of this research are qualitative and quantitative. The technique of analizing data is decriptive comparation. The procedure of this research is using Cycle Model, consist of four steps: planning, action, observation and reflection. The results of this research are 1) the efforts of increasing the elementary school 1 Pasar Banggi teachers pedagogic competence in order to increase the students learning motivation at the first semester of 2018/2019 academic year by class visitation technique of academic supervision are focussing on the coaching, 2) the efforts of increasing the elementary school 1 Pasar Banggi teachers pedagogic competence in order to increase the students learning motivation at the first semester of 2018/2019 academic year by class visitation technique of academic supervision are individually and participative and 3) the elementary school 1 Pasar Banggi teachers pedagogic competence in order to increase the students learning motivation at the first semester of 2018/2019 academic year by class visitation technique of academic supervision increased and included very high (A) category. Key words: Pedagogic, Teacher, Learning Motivation, Academic Supervision

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to: (1) develop development and multimedia task counseling skills modules to improve the performance of the advisory board in the street children social rehabilitation center "Kartini" Tawangmangu; (2) testing the effectiveness of development and multimedia task-based counseling skills modules in improving the performance of the board of advisers in the street rehabilitation center for social children "Kartini" Tawangmangu. Kartini "Tawangmangu has not yet understood the concept of basic counseling skills both in theory and application; mentoring services provided have not been based on an analysis of the tasks of developing foster children; multimedia has not been used as a tool in providing services. This study has a period of 1 year (12 months). The implementation plan is: (1) preparation of the preparation of a hypothetical module; (2) the arrangement of a hypothetical module; (3) expert validation and practitioner validation; (4) hypothetical module revisions; (5) field testing; (6) the final results of the module on development and multimedia task-based counseling skills in improving the performance of the advisory board in the street children social rehabilitation center. The main outputs generated from this research are development and multimedia task-based counseling skills modules that can effectively improve the performance of the advisory board in the street children social rehabilitation center "Kartini" Tawangmangu. This module is flexible and comprehensive to be applied in the street children social rehabilitation center. Flexible means that this module can be applied in all street children social rehabilitation centers in Indonesia. Comprehensive means that the development of this module is based on the results of preliminary field studies and relevant theoretical studies and validated by experts and practitioners.Keywords: Development counseling and multimedia counseling skills, Performance of the advisory board street children social rehabilitation center Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) menyusun modul counseling skill berbasis tugas perkembangan dan multimedia untuk meningkatkan kinerja dewan pembina di balai rehabilitasi sosial anak jalanan “Kartini” Tawangmangu; (2) melakukan uji efektivitas modul counseling skill berbasis tugas perkembangan dan multimedia dalam meningkatkan kinerja dewan pembina di balai rehabilitasi sosial anak jalanan “Kartini” Tawangmangu Penelitian ini beranjak pada hasil studi pendahuluan yang menunjukan bahwa: semua dewan pembina di balai rehabilitasi sosial anak jalanan “Kartini” Tawangmangu belum memahami konsep keterampilan dasar konseling baik secara terori maupun aplikasi; layanan pendampingan yang diberikan belum didasarkan pada analisis tugas perkembangan anak asuh; belum dimanfaatkannya multimedia sebagai alat bantu dalam memberikan layanan. Penelitian ini berjangka waktu 1 tahun (12 bulan). Adapun rencana pelaksanaannya adalah: (1) persiapan penyusunan modul hipotetik; (2) tersusunnya modul hipotetik; (3) validasi ahli dan validasi praktisi; (4) revisi modul hipotetiki; (5) uji lapangan; (6) hasil akhir modul counseling skill berbasis tugas perkembangan dan multimedia dalam meningkatkan kinerja dewan pembina di balai rehabilitasi sosial anak jalanan. Luaran utama yang dihasilkan dari penelitian ini adalah modul counseling skill berbasis tugas perkembangan dan multimedia yang secara efektif dapat meningkatkan kinerja dewan pembina di balai rehabilitasi sosial anak jalanan “Kartini” Tawangmangu. Modul ini bersifat fleksibel dan komprehensif untuk diaplikasikan di balai rehabilitasi sosial anak jalanan. Bersifat fleksibel artinya bahwa modul ini bisa diterapkan di semua balai rehabilitasi sosial anak jalanan di Indonesia. Bersifat komprehensif artinya bahwa pengembangan modul ini didasarkan pada hasil studi pendahuluan lapangan dan kajian teori yang relevan serta sudah divalidasi ahli dan praktisi.Kata kunci: Counseling skill berbasis tugas perkembangan dan multimedia, Kinerja dewan pembina balai rehabilitasi sosial anak jalanan

Abstract

AbstractIn the Unit Level curriculum Mathematics education needs to be given to all students starting from elementary school to equip students with the ability to think logically, analytically, systematically, critically, and creatively, and the ability to cooperate. The purpose of this study is to increase the activity and student learning outcomes through the Cooperative type STAD learning model. This research is a classroom action research that uses data collection methods with Milles and Hubberman interactive models including data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of this study indicate an increase in activity in students from 63,21% in the first cycle to 84,28% in the second cycle. The development of activity followed by the development of student learning outcomes reached KKM from 30.43% pre cycle, increased 65.22% in cycle one and 91.30% in cycle two. Based on data analysis, it shows that the indicator of success has been achieved in the second cycle, after achieving the indicator of success that is equal to ≥ 80%, and the average learning outcomes have been above the specified minimum completeness ratio (70).Keywords: Cooperative, Method of teaching, STAD Abstrak Dalam kurikulum Tingkat Satuan Pendidikan  mata pelajaran Matematika perlu diberikan kepada semua peserta didik mulai dari sekolah dasar untuk membekali peserta didik dengan kemampuan berpikir logis, analitis, sistematis, kritis, dan kreatif, serta kemampuan bekerjasama. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah meningkatkan keaktifan dan hasil belajar siswa melalui model pembelajaran Kooperatif tipe STAD. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas yang menggunakan metode pengumpulan data dengan model interaktif Milles dan Hubberman meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan kenaikan keaktifan pada siswa dari 63,21% pada siklus satu menjadi 84,28% pada siklus dua. Perkembangan keaktifan diikuti dengan perkembangan hasil belajar siswa mencapai KKM dari 30,43% pra siklus, meningkat 65,22% pada siklus satu dan 91,30% pada siklus dua. Berdasarkan analisis data, menunjukkan bahwa indikator keberhasilan telah tercapai pada siklus kedua, setelah mencapai indikator keberhasilan yaitu sebesar ≥ 80%, dan rata-rata hasil belajar sudah di atas riteria kelengkapan minimum yang ditentukan (70).Kata Kunci : Kooperatif, STAD, Metode mengajar

Abstract

ABSTRAKSI Pengembangan Sistem Informasi  Nilai Raport pada SMP Negeri 12 Surakarta. merupakan suatu sistem yang memberikan  informasi tentang Nilai Raport yang cepat dan akurat berbasis web lokal, sehingga membantu kecepatan  dan kualitas  dalam penyampaian  informasi. menu hanya  dapat  diakses  oleh  user  tertentu yaitu, Guru atau walikelas dan administrator.Pada hasil penelitian ini telah dikembangkan sebuah Sistem Informasi Nilai Raport pada SMP Negeri 12 Surakarta. Metode penelitian yang dilakukan penulis dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari Wawancara , Pengamatan (observasi), Studi pustaka, Pengumpulan data, Tahap analisa, Rancangan sistem, Pembuatan program, Uji coba, Tahap Uji Implementasi. Dimana  dalam  membangun sistem  ini  digunakan alat bantu pengembangan sistem yaitu Data Flow Diagram (DFD), Entity Relationship Diagram (ERD)dan  Flowchart  serta  dengan  menggunakan  bahasa  pemrograman  PHP  dan HTML  dan  MySQL  sebagai databasenya Sistem informasi sekolah berbasis web lokal ini dirancang sebagai solusi bagi pihak SMP Negeri 12 Surakarta, untuk Pengelolaan nilai raport, mulai dari mengentri, menyimpan, mengolah, dan mencetak nilai rapor.     Kata Kunci : Sistem Informasi, PHP, HTML.    ABSTRACT Development of Report Card Value Information Systems at Surakarta State Middle School 12. is a system that provides information about report cards that are fast and accurate based on local web, thus helping speed and quality in delivering information. the menu can only be accessed by certain users, namely, teacher and administrator.The results of this study have developed a Report Card Value Information System at Surakarta State Middle School 12. The research method used by the author in this study consisted of interviews, observations (observations), literature studies, data collection, analysis phase, system design, making programs, trials, implementation test stages. Where in building this system used system development tools namely Data Flow Diagrams (DFD), Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERD) and Flowcharts and by using the PHP and HTML programming languages and MySQL as the database This web-based local school information system is designed as a solution for parties SMP Negeri 12 Surakarta, for managing report card grades, ranging from entry, storing, processing, and printing report cards.   Keywords : Information System, PHP, HTML.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe aim of this research is to know whether there is a correlation between negative self concept with sosial anxiety to students grade X MIPA at SMA Negeri 6 Surakarta in the 2017/2018 academic year. The population in this research was all students grade X MIPA of SMA Negeri 6 Surakarta in the 2017/2018 academic year with the total number was 165 students Simple random sampling was used as sample with total number was 65 students. In collecting the data used questionnaire and documentation. Questionnare was used to get the data about negative self concept and social anxiety. Whereas, documentation was used to get the students name who became respondent in this research. The technique of data analysis was product moment correlation.Based on the data analysis, it was obtained that the r-count=0,617 next the score of r-count was consulted with r-table product moment with N=65 and the significance level 5% ans 1% was 0.244 and 0.317. Based on the data analysis r-count was high than r-table or 0.244<0.617>0.317. So, the null hypothesis or Ho is rejected and the working hypothesis or Ha accepted. The truth that is “There is positive correlation an significance between negative self-concept with social anxiety to student grade X MIPA at SMA Negeri 6 Surakarta in the 2017/2018 academic year, is accepted in significance level 5% and 1%.Keyword: Correlation, Negative Self-Concept, Social Anxiety. ABSTRAKTujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui ada tidaknya hubungan antara konsep diri negatif dengan kecemasan sosial pada siswa kelas X MIPA di SMA Negeri 6 Surakarta tahun pelajaran 2017/2018. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah semua siswa kelas X MIPA SMA Negeri 6 Surakarta tahun pelajaran 2017/2018 yang berjumlah 165 siswa, sampel penelitian menggunakan Simple Random Sampling sejumlah 65 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket dan dokumentasi. Metode angket dipergunakan guna memperoleh data tentang konsep diri negatif dan kecemasan sosial. Sedangkan metode dokumentasi digunakan guna memperoleh data nama siswa yang akan menjadi responden dalam penelitian ini. Teknik analisis yang digunakan adalah korelasi product moment. Berdasarkan dari hasil analisis data, diperoleh nilai r hitung yaitu sebesar 0,617 selanjutnya nilai r hitung tersebut dikonsultasikan dengan r tabel product moment dengan N = 65 dan taraf signifikasi 5% dan 1% yaitu 0,244 dan 0,317 ternyata hasil analisis data yang diperoleh r hitung lebih besar dari r tabel atau 0,244 < 0,617 > 0,317. Dengan demikian hipotesis nihil atau Ho ditolak dan hipotesis kerja atau Ha diterima kebenarannya yaitu “Ada hubungan yang positif dan signifikan antara konsep diri negatif dengan kecemasan sosial pada siswa kelas X MIPA SMA Negeri 6 Surakarta Tahun Pelajaran 2017/2018”, diterima kebenarannya baik pada taraf signifikasi 5% dan 1%.Kata kunci: Hubungan, Konsep Diri Negatif, Kecemasan Sosial.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe population in this study were students of class XI of SMA Negeri 6 Surakarta in the academic year 2017/2018 in class 304. From 11 classes the number of members used 2 classes as a sample where class XI Ips 5 as a trial and class Mipa 1 as medical assistance. Thus the sampling technique in this study is Simple Random Sampling. Data collection techniques in this study used a questionnaire, observation and documentation. The questionnaire method is used to collect data about self-confidence, the observation method is used to obtain low self-confidence characteristics in students in the school environment and learning activities, while the registrant method is used to obtain activity data. Based on the data analysis, data analysis techniques with t-test. It can be concluded that there is a good social assistance for the development of student confidence in class XI of SMA Negeri 6 Surakarta in 2017/2018 Academic Year. This is evidenced by t arithmetic = 13,043 consulted with t table with d.b = (N-1) = (27-1) = 26 in the significance level of 5% and 1%. So it can be calculated t arithmetic greater than t table or 2,056 <13,043> 2,779. Thus the hypothesis that reads "There is an influence of personal-social guidance services to increase student confidence in class XI of SMA Negeri 6 Surakarta in 2017/2018 Academic Year" is proven to be true at the significance level of 5% and 1%. Keywords: Personal-social guidance, Development of Confidence ABSTRAKPopulasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa SMA Negeri 6 Surakarta Tahun Pelajaran 2017/2018 kelas XI yang berjumlah 304. Dari  11  kelas jumlah anggota populasi tersebut digunakan 2 kelas  sebagai sampel di mana kelas XI Ips 5 sebagai uji coba dan kelas Mipa 1 sebagai pemberian treatment. Dengan demikian teknik sampling dalam penelitian ini adalah Simple Random Sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode angket, observasi dan dokumentasi. Metode angket dipergunakan untuk mengumpulkan data tentang percaya diri, metode observasi dipergunakan untuk mengetahui ciri-ciri percaya diri yang rendah pada siswa dalam lingkungan sekolah dan kegiatan belajar, sedangkan metode dokumentasi dipergunakan untuk memperoleh data  kegiatan. Berdasarkan dari analisis data teknik analisis data dengan t-tes., dapat diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa ada pengaruh layanan bimbingan pribadi sosial terhadap pengembangan percaya diri siswa di kelas XI  SMA Negeri 6 Surakarta Tahun Pelajaran 2017/2018. Ini dibuktikan dengan t hitung = 13,043 dikonsultasikan dengan t tabel dengan d.b = (N-1) = (27-1) = 26 dalam taraf signifikansi 5% dan 1%. Jadi dapat disimpulkan t hitung lebih besar dari t tabel atau 2,056 < 13,043 > 2,779. Dengan demikian hipotesis yang berbunyi  “Ada pengaruh layanan bimbingan pribadi-sosial terhadap pengembangan percaya diri siswa  di kelas XI  SMA Negeri 6 Surakarta Tahun Pelajaran 2017/2018” terbukti kebenarannya pada taraf signifikansi 5% dan 1%. Kata kunci : Bimbingan pribadi-sosial, Pengembangan percaya diri

Abstract

AbstractWriting is not only the act of arranging graphic symbols, but writing is also an integral part of communication when the other person is not there in front of us. It means that written language includes the organization of words, phrases, clauses, and sentences into coherent and cohesive paragraphs and texts. The aims of the study are as following : (1) To find out whether the use of Herringbone technique in teaching English improves the students’ writing skill at SMP Negeri 7 Surakarta in 2017/2018 academic year. (2) To describe the implementation of Herringbone technique to improve the students’ writing skill of the eighth grade students at SMP Negeri 7 Surakarta in 2017/2018 Academic Year.This action research was carried out at the eighth grade students of class VIII H in SMP Negeri 7 Surakarta consisted of 31 students, 16 female and 15 male. The researcher conducted 2 cycles of classroom action research. In collecting the data, interview, observation, documentation and test were used. In analyzing the data, the researcher used Qualitative and Quantitative data analysis.The result of this research showed that herringbone technique improved the students writing skill. The improvements of the students writing skill were seen from the results of the tests. The students mean score in pre-test was (46,45) . The students mean score in post-test 1 was (68,29)  and the students score in post-test 2 was (78,42), there was a significant result between pre-test and post-test 2. The technique also made the students felt fun and interested. Keywords : Writing Skill, Herringbone technique, Classroom Action Research. AbstrakMenulis bukan hanya tindakan mengatur simbol grafis, tetapi menulis juga merupakan bagian integral dari komunikasi ketika orang lain tidak ada di depan kita. Ini berarti bahwa bahasa tertulis mencakup pengorganisasian kata, frasa, klausa, dan kalimat ke dalam paragraf dan teks yang koheren dan kohesif. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah sebagai berikut: (1) Untuk mengetahui apakah penggunaan teknik Herringbone dalam mengajar Bahasa Inggris meningkatkan keterampilan menulis siswa di SMP Negeri 7 Surakarta pada tahun akademik 2017/2018. (2) Untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan teknik Herringbone untuk meningkatkan keterampilan menulis siswa siswa kelas VIII di SMP Negeri 7 Surakarta pada tahun akademik 2017/2018. Penelitian tindakan ini dilakukan pada siswa kelas VIII kelas VIII H di Indonesia. SMP Negeri 7 Surakarta terdiri dari 31 siswa, 16 perempuan dan 15 laki-laki. Peneliti melakukan 2 siklus penelitian tindakan kelas. Dalam mengumpulkan data, wawancara, observasi, dokumentasi dan tes digunakan. Dalam menganalisis data, peneliti menggunakan analisis data Kualitatif dan Kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa teknik herringbone meningkatkan keterampilan menulis siswa. Peningkatan keterampilan menulis siswa terlihat dari hasil tes. Nilai rata-rata siswa dalam pre-test adalah (46,45). Nilai rata-rata siswa pada post-test 1 adalah (68,29) dan skor siswa pada post-test 2 adalah (78,42), ada hasil yang signifikan antara pre-test dan post-test 2. Teknik ini juga membuat para siswa merasa senang dan tertarik. Kata kunci: Keterampilan Menulis, Teknik Herringbone, Penelitian Tindakan Kelas.

Abstract

AbstractIn Indonesia, English is a foreign language. English should be learnt by the students in every levels education in this country. No wonder, speaking is one of language skills that should be mastered by students especially in globalization era. However, several foreign language learners face some difficulites in learning speaking. This study was to answer the problem and to show the improvement after the implementation of Three Steps Interview technique in teaching learning process at eleventh grade students of SMAN 6 Surakarta in 2017/2018 academic year. The method of the study was classroom action research which was conducted from January until February 2018. To collect the data, test (oral test) and non-test (interview, observation, and documentation) techniques were employed. Meanwhile, t-test was used to analyze the data . The result of the study proved that Three Steps Interview technique gave significant improvement to the students’ speaking skill. It was seen from the result of the mean score of post-test 2 was 74.41 better than 64.14 in post-test 1 and the 47.71 in pre-test. Meanwhile, the result of analyzing the t-test between pre-test and post-test 1 were 15.06 and post-test 1 and post-test 2 were 11.87. Based on the fact above, it can be conclude that Three Steps Interview technique was one of alternative technique to improve students’ speaking skill in teaching and learning process. Not only showed the improvement trough the data, but also it made the class condition  more conducive and built the student’s cooperation together during teaching learning process. Keywords: Speaking skill, Action Research, Three Steps Interview.  AbstrakDi Indonesia, bahasa Inggris adalah bahasa asing. Bahasa Inggris harus dipelajari oleh siswa di setiap tingkat pendidikan di negara ini. Tidak heran, berbicara adalah salah satu keterampilan bahasa yang harus dikuasai oleh siswa terutama di era globalisasi. Namun, beberapa pelajar bahasa asing menghadapi beberapa kesulitan dalam belajar berbicara. Penelitian ini adalah untuk menjawab masalah dan untuk menunjukkan peningkatan setelah penerapan teknik Three Steps Interview dalam proses belajar mengajar pada siswa kelas XI SMAN 6 Surakarta di 2017/2018 tahun akademik. Metode penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas yang dilakukan dari Januari hingga Februari 2018. Untuk mengumpulkan data, tes (tes lisan) dan teknik non-tes (wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi) dipekerjakan. Sementara itu, uji-t digunakan untuk menganalisis data. Hasil penelitian membuktikan bahwa teknik Wawancara Tiga Langkah memberikan peningkatan yang signifikan terhadap keterampilan berbicara siswa. Itu terlihat dari hasil nilai rata-rata post-test 2 yaitu 74,41 lebih baik dari 64,14 pada post-test 1 dan 47,71 pada pre-test. Sementara itu, hasil analisis uji-t antara pre-test dan post-test 1 adalah 15,06 dan post-test 1 dan post-test 2 adalah 11,87. Berdasarkan fakta di atas, dapat disimpulkan bahwa teknik Wawancara Tiga Langkah adalah salah satu teknik alternatif untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara siswa dalam proses belajar mengajar. Tidak hanya menunjukkan peningkatan melalui data, tetapi juga membuat kondisi kelas lebih kondusif dan membangun kerja sama siswa bersama selama proses belajar mengajar. Kata kunci: Keterampilan Berbicara, Penelitian Tindakan, Wawancara Tiga Langkah

Abstract

 ABSTRACTThe objectives of this research are as follows:   1)to find out whether Semantic mapping can improve student’s reading comprehension at SMP N 7 Surakarta . 2 )To find out how semantic mapping can improve motivation student’s reading comprehension at SMPN 7 Surakarta at the eighth grade students especially class 8 C of SMP Negeri 7 Surakarta in the academic year of 2017/2018. In this research the researcher used qualitative and quantitative methods. The qualitative method consisted  of  observation,  interview,and  documentation.  While  the  quantitative  method  was  the calculating the mean score of the pre-test, post-test 1, and post-test 2.   The result of this research showed that semantic mapping could improve the students’reading comprehension at the eighth grade students especially class 8 C of SMP Negeri 7 Surakarta. The improvement could be seen from the result of the test. The mean score of pre-test was 61,00, post-test 1 was 71,56 and post-test 2 was 80,06. Moreover, the result of t-test was 12,38 in cycle 1 and 15,49 in cycle 2. It meant that there was improvement in students’ reading comprehension.Keywords: Classroom Action Research, Students’Reading Comprehension, Semantic Mapping. ABSTRAKTujuan dari penelitian ini adalah sebagai berikut: 1) untuk mengetahui apakah pemetaan Semantic dapat meningkatkan pemahaman membaca siswa di SMP N 7 Surakarta. 2) Untuk mengetahui bagaimana pemetaan semantik dapat meningkatkan motivasi pemahaman membaca siswa di SMPN 7 Surakarta pada siswa kelas delapan khususnya kelas 8 C SMP Negeri 7 Surakarta pada tahun akademik 2017/2018. Dalam penelitian ini peneliti menggunakan metode kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Metode kualitatif terdiri dari observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Sedangkan metode kuantitatif adalah menghitung skor rata-rata pre-test, post-test 1, dan post-test 2. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pemetaan semantik dapat meningkatkan pemahaman siswa pada siswa kelas delapan khususnya kelas 8 C SMP Negeri 7 Surakarta. Peningkatan itu bisa dilihat dari hasil tes. Nilai rata-rata pre-test adalah 61,00, post-test 1 adalah 71,56 dan post-test 2 adalah 80,06. Selain itu, hasil uji-t adalah 12,38 pada siklus 1 dan 15,49 pada siklus 2.
