Abstract

The study was aimed to introduce a new model construction regarding the transmission of Coronavirus Disease (henceforth, COVID-19) in human population. The mathematical model was constructed by taking into consideration several epidemiology parameters that are closely identical with the real condition. The study further conducted an analysis on the model by identifying the endemicity parameters of COVID-19, i.e., the presence of disease-free equilibrium (DFE) point and basic reproduction number. The next step was to carry out sensitivity analysis to find out which parameter is the most dominant to affect the disease’s endemicity. The results revealed that the parameters 𝜂, 𝜁𝑠𝑒, 𝛼,, and 𝜎 in sequence showed the most dominant sensitivity index towards the basic reproduction number. Moreover, the results indicated positive index in parameters 𝜂 and 𝜁𝑠𝑒 that represented transmission chances during contact as well as contact rate between vulnerable individuals and exposed individual. This suggests that anincrease in the previous parameter value could potentially enlarge the endemicity of COVID-19. On the other hand, parameters 𝛼 and 𝜎, representing movement rate of exposedindividuals to the quarantine class and proportion of quarantined exposed individuals, showed negative index. The numbers indicate that an increase in the parameter value could decrease the disease’s endemicity. All in all, the study concludes that treatments for COVID-19 should focus onrestriction of interaction between individuals and optimization of quarantine.

Abstract

The use of location weights on the formation of the spatio-temporal  model contributes to the accuracy of the model formed. The location weights that are often used include uniform location weight, inverse distance, and cross-correlation normalization. The weight of the location considers the proximity between locations. For data that has a high level of variability, the use of the location weights mentioned above is less relevant. This research was conducted with the aim of obtaining a weighting method that is more suitable for data with high variability. This research was conducted using secondary data derived from 10 daily rainfall data obtained from BMKG Karangploso. The data period used was January 2008 to December 2018. The points of the rain posts studied included the rain post of the Blimbing, Karangploso, Singosari, Dau, and Wagir regions. Based on the results of the research forecasting model obtained is the GSTAR ((1), 1,2,3,12,36) -SUR model. The cross-covariance model produces a better level of accuracy in terms of lower RMSE values and higher R2 values, especially for Karangploso, Dau, and Wagir areas.

Abstract

Graph of real valued continuous function with special addition and multiplication has already proven that is isomorphic to real number system. Furthermore, the graph of continous real valued function forms a field. The aim of this research was to generalize such concept to its n-tuple Cartesian Product and to prove that interchange of basis still able to be executed. The result of this research is n-tuple Cartesian Product of graph function forms a vector space over  and interchange of basis still able to be executed

Abstract

Population composition in a country by sex and age-structure often illustrated through the Population Pyramid. In this study, an age-structure model will be constructed to predict the population pyramid shape in the coming year. It is assumed that changes in population are affected by natality and mortality number in each age group, ignoring migration rates. The proposed age structure model formulated as a first-order partial differential equation with the non-negative initial condition. The boundary condition is given by the number of births which is proportional to the number of women at childbearing age. Then, this age structure model implemented utilizing United Nations Data to predict population pyramids of Indonesia, Brazil, Japan, the USA, and Russia. The population pyramid prediction of the five countries shows different characteristics, according to whether it is a developing or developed country. The results of this study indicate that the age structure model can be used to predict the composition of the population in a country in the next few years. Indonesia is predicted to be the highest populated country in 2066, compared to the other four countries. This result can be used as a reference for the government to plan policies and strategies according to age groups to control population explosion in the future.

Abstract

Summability is an important concept in sequence spaces. One summability concept is strongly Cesaro summable. In this paper, we study a subset of the set of all vector-valued sequence in 2-modular space. Some facts that we investigated in this paper include linearity, the existence of modular and completeness with respect to these modular.

Abstract

Juanda International Airport is currently preparing to realize the construction of terminal 3. This construction project impression that Juanda Airport is experiencing an overload, including in the airplane queue. This study aims to analyze the current queuing system at the Juanda International Airport apron, whether effective, quite effective, or less effective in serving the number of existing flights with two terminals. An analysis of the queuing system was conducted in several scenarios. They are in normal/regular condition, a scenario if there is an increase in flight frequency, and a scenario if there is a reduction in aprons’ number because of certain exceptional situations. To analyze the airplane’s landing queue at Juanda airport apron, the queuing model (M/M/51) : (FCFS/∞/∞) is used. From this model, the results show that in normal conditions, the estimated waiting time for each airplane in the system is 0.18 hours with a queue of 2 up to 3 planes/hour, categorized as effective. In one apron reduction scenario, each airplane’s estimated waiting time in the system is 0.7 hours, with a queue of 6 up to 7 planes categorized as less effective. In the scenario of additional flights, only 9 other flights are allowed every day to keep the service performance still quite effective. By obtaining this results analysis, the decision of PT. Angkasa Pura 1 (Persero) to build terminal 3 is suitable to reduce queuing time and improve Juanda International Airport services to be more effective.

Abstract

In this paper, a matrix approach to the direct computation method for solving Fredholm integro-differential equations (FIDEs) of the second kind with degenerate kernels is presented. Our approach consists of reducing the problem to a set of linear algebraic equations by approximating the kernel with a finite sum of products and determining the unknown constants by the matrix approach. The proposed method is simple, efficient and accurate; it approximates the solutions exactly with the closed form solutions. Some problems are considered using maple programme to illustrate the simplicity, efficiency and accuracy of the proposed method.

Abstract

This paper discusses the dynamic analysis of three species in the eco-epidemiology model by considering the ratio-dependent function and prey refuge. The prey refuge is applied under the fact that infected prey has protection instincts that allow it to reduce predation risk. Here, we get the boundedness and three equilibrium points where are existence under certain conditions. In the model, three equilibrium points are locally asymptotically stable and one of the equilibrium points is globally asymptotically stable. We find that the system undergoes Hopf bifurcation around the interior equilibrium point by choosing  as a bifurcation parameter. We also find a condition for uniform persistence. Finally, several simulations of numerical are performed not only to illustrate the analytical results but also to illustrate the effect of the prey refuge.
