Abstract

ABSTRACTNow global warming becomes the attention of all over the world. Global warming is probably caused by the increasing of the concentration of the greenhouse effects which is due to human activities. There are a lot of Indonesia people who do not care about their environment. Indonesia has to be aware of global warming such as the changing of the extreme weather, flood, clean water crisis, disease. Related to those problems, it needs to be appreciated the attitude of care for the environment since early. The objective of this research is to know whether the method of role playing is able to increase the attitude of care for the environment at the early stage of children. This research involved 29 preschool students. They were divided into 2 groups, control group and experiment group. The hypothesis was that there was the different attitude between two groups. The method which was used in this research was non – randomized pretest – posttest control only group design. From the statistical analysis using Paired Sample t – test showed that therewas significantly difference for the experiment group before and after the conduct of role playing method “ I Love my Earth” (t=11,168, p=0,000). Statistical analysis using Independent sample ttest with score gain (t = 9,350, p= 0,000) showed that there was significantly different attitude of care for the environment between the experiment group and the control group ( t = 9,350, p =0,000).Key word : The attitude of care for the environment, role playing, preschool

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe research aims at testing empirically the influence of manager’s transformational leadership style on organizational commitment. The proposed hypthesis is positive relationship between manager’s transformational leadership style and organizational commitment.The subjects of the research are 40 employees of Batik Company “Nyonya Indo”. The subjects used in the research should meet the requirements, i.e.: 1). Men and women, 2). Permanent employee, 3). Have been working at least for a year. Transformational leadership style and organizational commitment scales were used to collect the data. The method of data analysis used is product moment correlation of Pearson through SPSS program of 17.00 for windows version. The result shows that there is significant positive correlation between manager’s transformational leadership style and organizational commitment. This is depicted in r = 0,297 and p < 0,05. It means that the higher the transformational leadership style is applied, the higher the organizational commitment and vice versa. The number of the influence of manager’s transformational leadership style on organizational commitmentis 7,841 %.Keywords: organizational commitment, transformational leadership style,

Abstract

Abstract The competitiveness of an organization is determined by innovation at the level of organizations, groups and individuals. Individual innovation is essential for organizational success. This study is aimed to look at the role of self efficacy, perceptions of HRMP and career success towards work innovation. This research was quantitative explanation, that examined the role between variables in the hypothesis. This research used a scale of self efficacy, perceptions of HRMP, career success and work innovation. The subject were 115 employees from PT BBM in Makassar. The method of analysis used structural equation modeling (SEM). Analysis result showed that: (1) self efficacy had positive and  ignificanteffect towards work innovation, which value was 0,325, (2) self efficacy had positive and significant effect on the work innovation, with career success as mediating variable, which value was 0,094, (3) perception of HRMP have positif and significant effect on work innovation, which value was 0,354 (4) perception of HRMP had positif and significant effect on work innovation, with career success as mediating variable, which value was 0,074. Hence, the variables which can be the predictors of the work innovation are self efficacy, perception of HRMP and career success. Keyworks: career success, self efficacy, work innovation

Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of the study was to explore the influence of future orientation training on student’s future orientation improvement and relationship between future orientation and expectation for learning success. This study involved 37 of tenth grade students in one of private Senior High School in Semarang. The research used quantitative method with experiment approach and one group pre- test post-test design to test find out the difference between students’ future orientation before and after training and explore the correlation between students’ future orientation and expectation for student learning success.Result showed that there was a significant difference of future orientation before and after training, (Z = -5,304). Correlation analysis between future orientation and expectation for student’s learning success showed that there was relationship between future orientation and expectation for student’s learning success, with correlation r = 0.477.implication of these results for the study of future orientation and expectation for student’s learning success are exlpored.Keywords: future orientation, learning success expectation, training

Abstract

AbstractThis reserach aims to explore the role of work value factors, transactional dan transformational leadership type, psychological contract to team effectiveness and examined the variables that give significant contribution to team effectiveness. This research involved 170 of medical and non-medical employee in X Hospital, Pontianak. Effective team work scale, psychological contract scale, transformational and transactional leadership scale and work value survey were used to collect the data. Data was analyzed using Structural EquationModeling (SEM) method trough AMOS Program. Result showed work value factors, transactional and transformational leadership type influence to team effectiveness with psychological contract as mediator variable. Psychological contract give a significant contribution to team effectiveness, therefore it could be predictor to team effectiveness.Key word: psychological contract, team effectiveness, transformational leadership transactional leadership,

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to determine the relation between internal locus of control and career maturity of students in vocational high school (SMK) Negri 1 Bantul. The research involved 150 eleventh-grade students of five classes in SMK Negri 1 Bantul as samples that were chosen using cluster random sampling. Data was collected using career maturity scale and internal locus of control scale and Pearson Product Moment correlation technique with SPSS 16.0 for Windows was used to analyze the data. The results showed that the coefficient correlation between those two variables reach at r = 0.161 and p = 0.049 (p <0.05= significant). It can be concluded that there is a significant positive relationship between internal-locus of control and students’s career maturity. The higher students’ internal locus of control, the higher students’ career maturity and vice versa. Keywords: career maturity, career-planning, internal locus of control.

Abstract

AbstractPatients with essential hypertension are susceptible to psychological problems such as stress. The purpose of this study is to find out the effectiveness of relaxation therapy in reducing stress among patients with essential hypertension. There were five participants who were patients with essential hypertension in moderate and high level of stress. The study used the adapted Depression Anxiety Stress Scales. The experimental design used the ABA small N experimental design. A therapy was given individually in seven sessions for four weeks. The quantitative analysis was done by using visual inspection to reveal the dynamic of stress scores among patients with essential hypertension. The qualitative analysis was done by analyzing the results of the interview, observation, and participant development book. The result of the study indicates that relaxation therapy can reduce stress among patients with essential hypertension.Keywords: essential hypertension, relaxation, stress, .

Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of this study is to examine what are the most affect factors to BMT BIF employee performance, in terms of self-efficacy and perceptions of organizational climate, moderated by employee engagement. This study uses a quantitative approach in an effort to test the hypotheses. The subjects were all employees of microfinance bank (BMT) BIF Yogyakarta totaling 93 people. Methods of data collection using a Likert scale with five answer options. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was run by AMOS 22.0 software. The results showed 19.4% of BMT BIF employee’s performanceis influenced by self-efficacy, the parameter coefficient of 0.440 and P value <0.05. Selfefficacy significantly affect to employee performance of which is mediated by employee engagement. These results demonstrate the effective contribution of 17.6% with a coefficient parameter of 0.420 and P value <0.05. Perceive of organizational climate does not affect to BMT BIF employee performance, either directly or mediated by employee engagement.Keywords: employee engagement, job performance. Abstract

AbstractHepatitis A is a disease caused by a virus of hepatitis A. College students is a group have highest risk exposed this disease. The objective of this research is to know whether the method of the training called “sayasehat, semuasehat” is effective increasing awareness for the college students with the efforts to decrease the risk of hepatitis A. The subject of the research are twenty students. The criteria are the students who often buy food in street foodstall. The subject were the students who live in the dormitory or in boarding house and willing to follow the training. They fulfil ledwritten informed consent to follow the four sessions training. This research uses pretest and postest control group design. The data was analyzed using anava mixed design. The intervention of this research was training called“saya sehat, semua sehat”. The result shows that the training of “saya sehat, semua sehat”, were able to increase the college students’ awareness againts hepatitis A. The increase significantly happened in experiment group. Abstract

AbstractSelf-esteem determines a person’s overall mental development, it can even affect human behavior. The debate arose when researchers try to explain, whether student achievement is influenced by self-esteem? The author conducted a meta-analysis studies in attempt to clarify the relationship between the variables of self-esteem with academic achievement variable. This research analyzed over sixteen research journals, in which there are 29 studies that examine a relationship between self-esteem and academic achievement. Fifteen research journal use Global Self-esteem scale of the artificial factor in measuring the Rosenberg self-esteem, and research journals using the scale of the Tennessee Self-Concept Scale (TSCS). Academic achievement in 16 research journals obtained, operationalized as the average value of the end of the previous school year students and test scores of students in certain subjects. The analysis showed that there is a significant correlation between self-esteem with academic achievement. The correlation coefficient obtained population is low, amounting to 0,199. The weak correlation coefficient can not be concluded that self-esteem does not affect academic achievement. However, there are two alternatives that could explain the lack of connection between self-esteem with academic achievement. First, the relationship between self-esteem with academic achievement is a two-way relationship. Second, the relationship between self-esteem with academic achievement associated with academic self-efficacy variables.Keywords: academic achievement, self-esteem, the meta-analysis
