Journal of Educational, Health and Community Psychology
Journal of Educational, Health, and Community Psychology (JEHCP) published an article, and empirical study that have originality, novelty and fill the gap of knowledge, that focused on educational psychology, health psychology and community psychology. JEHCP is an open access peer reviewed, multidisciplinary journal that publishes quality studies related to psychology. JEHCP is interdisciplinary in approach, and includes to reports of qualitative case studies, quantitative experiments and surveys, mixed method studies, action researches, meta-analyses, and discussions of conceptual and methodological issues. The field of educational psychology includes the effectiveness of educational interventions, the psychology of teaching, and the social psychology of schools as organizations, motor skills and other psycho-physiological processes; cognitive development involving areas such as problem solving, language acquisition; social, personality, and emotional development; self-concept and identity formation. The field of Health Psychology includes the stress-related ilnesses, the health coping strategy, resiliency, work on health attitudes and behaviour, health locus of control, quality of life in chronic disease, influence of emotion on health and health-related behaviours, psychological interventions in health and disease as well as psychological aspects of prevention. The field of Community Psychology includes research, evaluation, assessment and intervention, and review articles that deal with human behavior in community settings. Articles of interest include descriptions and evaluations of service programs and projects, studies of youth, parenting, and family development, methodology and design for work in the community, the interaction of groups in the larger community, and criminals and corrections.

Abstract The aim of this review paper is to identify the important role of teachers about reporting child abuse in their classroom to reduce and prevention of child abuse with considers the homeless students. The findings of this study show that teachers have an important role to intervene and prevent of child abuse, because they spend a lot of time with students and contact with them in classroom. This study also finds that, teachers believed that the appropriate training has not been taught them in colleges, universities or teachers training centers. Furthermore, this paper pursues the professional abilities of teachers in order to find the child abuse signs of their students as well as the homeless ones and the skills of reporting them. Key word: Child Abuse, Homeless Students, Knowledge, Teacher, Report

AbstractStudentsâ low level of motivation becomes a matter of concern to be addressed immediately. Students motivation needs to be improved as it is a factor that will affect their lives in the future. This study aims to observe or examine the effectiveness of motivation training in increasing students motivation.The research method used was the pre-experiment with one group pre-test post-test design. The subjects of this study were 15 boy and girl students of Grade X of SMK who had a low level of motivation. The measuring instruments were the motivation scales given during the pre-test and post-test. The quantitative data were statistically analyzed using the Wilcoxon test with non-parametric measurements to determine the significance of difference in the motivation level before and after the training. The data were tested using SPSS 17.0 for Windows.The result of Wilcoxon analysis to test the hypothesis whether there is a difference between the pre-test and post-test of students motivation showed that the p = 0.025 (p < 0.05). This means that there was a significant difference between the motivation before the treatment (pre-test) and after the treatment (post-test), which indicated that the students motivation increased after a treatment in the form of motivation training. Keywords: motivation training, motivation

AbstractThis study focused on issues of education and welfare ethos, which define: (1) how the ethos phenomenon of Muslim migrants toward education, and (2) how the image of success in educational and welfare ethos in Pangkoh. This research aims to describe and interpret ethos phenomena of education, success, and welfare through perspective of psychology and Islam. Subjects were Muslim migrants living in Pangkoh. They are grouped in two sections of migrants namely migrant with secondary education by 12 families, and those with basic education, primary school or an equivalent amounting 11 families. Data collection techniques using primary techniques of in-depth interviews and observations related to the problem. This study shows Muslim migrant groups who have basic education are not directly educational ethos, but they produce graduates capable of working. Migrant children claimed their success in the struggle of parents are blessed by Allah SWT. The contribution of this research will develop the ethos of the Muslim migrants for valuable input for local governments Pulang Pisau, and as a true imaging.Keywords: Ethos, education, welfare, muslim migrant.Â

AbstractThe aim of present literature review paper is to identify vital role of income on the amount of job satisfaction and residential satisfaction. The findings of this study express that these two inner feeling factors have fundamental role on individualâs life. In addition, this study focused on value of income and its effect on job satisfaction and residential satisfaction. Moreover, low levels of income leads to various difficulties such as low level of job satisfaction and decrease of residential satisfaction among individuals and threaten their behaviors and reactions at work. Abstract Masalah persalinan masih menjadi keprihatinan karena tingginya angka kematian ibu (AKI) di Indonesia dibandingkan dengan negara Asean yang lain. Selain itu persalinan yang sebenarnya merupakan peristiwa ï¬siologis dapat menjadi patologis dan membahayakan ibu maupun bayi. Konseling diperlukan ibu akan bersalin agar mampu mengatur diri dalam menghadapi perubaÂhan-perubahan yang terjadi dalam dirinya dan merasa aman selama persalinan. Penelitian bertujuan untuk menguji apakah bagaimana manfaat pemberian konseling terhadap mekanisme koping ibu bersalin. Rancangan penelitian adalah rancangan preeksperimental, membandingkan kelompok (StaticGroup Comparison). Penelitian berlangsung November 2007 sampai Agustus 2009. Populasi penelitian adalah ibu primipara yang bersalin di Puskesmas T dan Puskesmas M Kota Yogyakarta sejumlah 538. Subyek penelitian 218 terdiri dari 109 kelompok perlakuan dan 109 pembanding. Karakteristik subyek distribusinya hampir merata antara kelompok perlakuan dan pembandÂing. Prosentase yang paling besar untuk usia 2025 tahun (>69%), suku Jawa (>95%), pendidikan SLTA (>69%), menikah (>85%), usia kehamilan 3640 minggu (>80%). Hasil penelitian menunjukÂkan mekanisme koping ada beda bermakna p=0.000. Kata kunci: Konseling, ibu hamil, dan persalinan.

Abstract The aim of this study is to determine the relationship between adding value; trust and teacher satisfaction among primaryand secondary school teachers in Malaysia.In this research,375 teachers were selected based on convenience random sampling from teachers who study in educational field. This study is quantitative research and data were collected based on questionnaire and were analyzed using descriptive, correlation and regression analysis. Based on Pearson Product-Moment Correlation Coefficient the results show that the high significant relationship exists between trust and teacher job satisfaction. However, low and negative relationship was found to exist between adding value and teacherâs satisfaction. Regarding to multiple regression, there are significant contribution of trust and teacher satisfaction. However, just adding value was not increase teacherjob satisfaction. Key words: Adding value âJob Satisfaction -Trust -Primary school- Teachers-Malaysia.

Abstract Happiness is an important thing in human life, so itâs not surprisingly that people tend to do anything they could to be happy in their life. So do the Betawi people which is known as the indigenous people in Jakarta. Betawi people now facing the unpleasant reality in spite of their inability to compete with the migrants community who come and dominate the economy growth in Jakarta. This inability to compete, forces the Betawi people to move from downtown to the suburbs of Jakarta. Another impact of this inability to compete is the low level of welfare among the Betawi people, which is in turn, affects their feeling of happy. This study aimed to describe the happiness among Betawi People who lived in Perkampungan Budaya Betawi Setu Babakan, South Jakarta.Happiness questionaire was used to collect the data from 55 Betawi People. This questionaire consist of some open question and some question with alternative choices. Open questions describe the definition and sources of happiness, while question with alternative choices describe the level of happiness. The result showed that the subject of this study is quitely happy. The definition of happiness answered by the subject was categorized then, and finally revealed 7 themes: relationship within the family member, something correlated with material, having a peacefull life, something really important, achieving for what they want, physical health and to share with other people. Meanwhile, categorization on the sources of happiness found 8 sources: relationship within the family, materials, giving happiness to their beloved ones, relationship with spouses, physical health, having children, success and developing Betawi culture. Keywords: happiness, level, meaning, sources, BetawiÂ

Abstract The presence of job satisfaction as a vital factor amongst academic staff in university is too considerable. Furthermore, recognizing principal factors that influence on job satisfaction assumed much significant, because of these factors appear various normal and abnormal behavior at workplace. In this case, the present study focused on income as external factor that impacts on job satisfaction and examines the association between these two factors among academic staffs at public universities in Malaysia. The sample of the study was 440 academic staff that worked in public universities and completed the job descriptive index inventory. Additionally, the result showed there is significant relationship between income and the amount of job satisfaction that analyzed by ANOVA test. As well, the existing paper supports the effect of income on job satisfaction among academic staff. Key word: Income, job satisfaction, and university academic staff

AbstractDuring the last few decades educators and parents have focused on the special needs and abilities of children thereforecreativity and solving problems in creative way is identified as a mainfactor in reaching high educational aims. This paper is a study based on the literature and previous research papers to explain studentsâ learning through teaching creativity, with regarding teachers perception.Researchers cannot study creativity by isolating individuals and their work from the historical and social environment in which they act. So teachersâ perspective about creativity can be effective in process of studentâs learning. The findings of this study show there are many definitions and concepts about creativity which they should be considered by teachers to improve studentsâ creativity.Keywords: studentsâ learning, creativity, teachersâ perception, creativity in education.

AbstractThe purpose of this study was to examine the Indonesia versions of the Attachment Q-Sort/AQS-Toddler Attachment Sort-45/TAS-45 (Bimler & Kirkland, 2002). Assessing the childs attachment in Indonesia has not been done lately. Data were collected through observation of 84 Indonesian toddlers residing in Yogyakarta. The validity of the TAS-45 was determined by Kirkland (2008) through mapping TAS-45 for the Indonesian users. This study had the inter-rater reliability of 0.92 that indicated the convincing score. The study finding shows the Indonesian AQS/TAS-45 is reliable and valid in for Indonesia children sample and suggest that the TAS-45 Indonesia version reflect similar concept to those in the original English versions.Keywords: AQS/TAS-45, Child, AttachmentÂ
