Abstract

This research has purpose to get description about use of majas in poetry of student of class VIII SMP Negeri 3 Koto XI Tarusan. This research is type of qualitative research using content analysis method. The data in this study is a collection of poems written by students of class VIII SMP Negeri 3 Koto XI Tarusan, while the focus of research is the utilization of the majas contained in the poem. Data collection is done by inventorying all poems written by students. Furthermore, the data were analyzed according to the content analysis method and studied based on the theory of the masters used. Based on the results of the discussion can be concluded that the majas used in the student's poetry among them; (1) Parable, (2) hyperbole, (3) repetition, (4) personification, (5) metaphors, (6) ellipsis, and (7) allegory. Majus found in total amounted to 73 majas. For the dominant masters used in student poems the personification majas, amounting to 25 types of usage of 73 types of the found masters.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the skills of telling students VII A SMP Negeri 4 Purbalingga after using wayang cartoon media. The method of this research is descriptive quantitative and qualitative descriptive. The research design used is classroom action research. Classroom action research process includes cycle I and cycle II. The results showed an increase in storytelling skills. The average value and study completeness has increased significantly. Cycle I 61,87 sufficient category and cycle II 76,31 good category. Observations on student attitudes also indicate a better improvement. Students are more enthusiastic about learning and learning becomes fun.

Abstract

Dendang is one of the oral folklores of Bengkulu city. This study aims to describe dendang Tepuk Tari in the marriage customs of Bengkulu city, the form, function, and values. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method using recording techniques, interviews, listening, and taking notes and the Snowball sampling technique. The main data in this study are the chanting poems taken from the video footage that was sung and equipped with the results of interviews with several informants. The results of this study indicate that the dendang is not only in the form of traditional songs and music, but is collaborated with seven traditional dances that resemble the movements in pencak silat. The poetry used consists of: 1) regular rhymes, and 2) talibun that are performed by means of reciprocating between the players using Bengkulu language and describing the lives of Bengkulu people. From the results of data analysis (poetry), this dendang functions as; 1) means of entertainment, 2) forms of community identity, 3) social criticism, and 4) means of educating and having values: 1) philosophical, 2) religious, and 3) sociological.

Abstract

Language acquisition is an important part of a person's life. Language is a means of communication and social interaction that must be mastered an early by someone. Good capability in an early language mastery will support the quality of human life, especially in the social interaction aspect . Considering the importance of early language acquisition, child language acquisition is importance to be studied. This paper is presents a brief overview of language acquisition in terms of the ways and the stages of language acquisition in children. Furthermore, this paper is also presents the design and research methods into language acquisition.

Abstract

Bahasa Indonesia telah dipelajari di 45 negara, termasuk Republik Rakyat Tiongkok. Di Tiongkok selatan dan barat daya, terdapat tiga universitas yang membuka Jurusan Bahasa Indonesia, yaitu Universitas Bahasa-bahasa Asing Guangdong, Universitas Kebangsaan Guangxi, dan Universitas Kebangsaan Yunnan. Ketiganya terletak di provinsi yang berbeda-beda, namun termasuk ke dalam wilayah Tiongkok selatan dan barat daya. Para pengajar di tiga universitas tersebut umumnya telah berkualifikasi magister, dan ada pula yang telah berkualifikasi doktor. Program pengajaran di tiga universitas itu umumnya menggunakan sistem “3+1”, tiga tahun belajar di Tiongkok dan setahun belajar di Indonesia. Para mahasiswa Jurusan Bahasa Indonesia di tiga universitas itu umumnya aktif mengikuti perkuliahan dan kegiatan kebudayaan Indonesia.

Abstract

Penelitian ini berfokus pada lirik lagu Jika karya Melly Goeslow. Pendekatan  yang digunakan adalah pendekatan mikrostruktural yang menitikberatkan pada aspek leksikal dan aspek gramatikal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa unsur gramatikal yang terkandung di dalam lirik lagu jika adalah pengacuan (referensi), pelesapan (Ellipsis), dan perangkaian (conjungtion). Unsur leksikal yang terdapat dalam lagu Jika adalahrepetisi (pengulangan), sinonimi (padan kata), dan antonimi (lawan kata).

Abstract

The study aims to describe 1) the academic interaction and 2) communication form between the students and their academic lecturers of the Study Program of Indonesian Language Education, Faculty of Trainer and Training Education, Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta. It employed a descriptive-qualitative approach. The data collection used the techniques of in-depth interview, observation, and documentation. The data sources were obtained from the the students and their lecturers. The data were the academic interaction and communication forms. The data validity applied a data or source triangulation. The data analysis employed an interactive model: data reduction, data display, and conclusion. The results of the study show that the academic interaction and communication form consist of informative, persuasive, and argumentative verbal. Furthermore, the forms are in a one-way, two-way, and multiple-way communications.

Abstract

Language politeness, especially politeness of directive actions among elementary school students is the main foundation for instilling the character building of children. This directive politeness action has decreased over time in line with the century of global communication and computing. This study aims to describe the shift in the realization of directive politeness act (DPA) among elementary students with a Javanese cultural background. This research method takes the form of qualitative with a dual case study strategy. Sources of research data include all elementary school students and teachers in Surakarta and Yogyakarta. Data collection techniques are carried out by observing techniques actively involved, observing free involvement, and reinforced by FGD techniques. The research data in the form of speech from DPA elementary school students in conducting language activities in a school environment both in formal and non-formal settings. Data analysis was carried out using Leech model of politeness scale technique which was strengthened by politeness analysis with the principle of social, cultural harmony, the harmony of the Gunarwan and Prayitno models. The results of the study abstract that: (a) the realization of the DPA students experience a shift in line with the shifting of the time and context of the wearer, (b) the realization of DPA can reduce the positive politeness values and psychological characteristics of the students' character, (c) the realization of the student's DPA This digital trend tends to use direct and literal methods in line with the influence of the context of communication patterns and centuries of practical computing, (d) the taxonomic shift in the dominant DPA in the sub-TKD requires, (e) the DPA taxonomy begs parallel with its realization in the sub-DPA pleading, (f) the taxonomic shift in DPA invites the dominant in the sub-DPA to persuade, (g) the taxonomic shift in DPA advises the dominant sub-DPA to remind, (h) the taxonomic shift in DPA reprimands the dominant sub-DPA satire, (i) the taxonomy of DPA prohibits parallel with the realization of the sub-DPA prohibits, (j) the character of the DPA used by elementary students with a Javanese cultural background shifts in line with shifting understanding the values of language politeness and understanding of character among the wearer.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to develop teaching material products sourced from folklore for fifth grade elementary school students. While the method used in this study is Research and Development (R & D). The results of development research in this study are first, students and teachers have the same needs, namely teaching materials sourced from folklore that can be used as a companion teaching materials that have been used in school. Secondly, prototypes of folklore teaching materials have cover specifications, introductory words, table of contents, learning instructions, SK/KD/indicators/goals, material, training, summary, evaluation, assessment, final training, and bibliography, biodata of the author. Third, the validation results are stated as good or feasible to be used in Xaverius Lubuklinggau Elementary School. This is based on the results of expert validation carried out on four aspects, namely the feasibility of content or material, the feasibility of language, the feasibility of the presenter and graphics. Fourth, the effectiveness test of teaching material products proves that the results of the T-Test on teaching materials are very significant. This can be seen by the schools that were sampled in the study obtained by the results of Asymp.ig. (2-teiled) greater than the significant level of 0.05.

Abstract

 Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membandingkan stuktur teks tajuk rencana harian Kompas dan Media Indonesia tentang nasib TKI. Hal tersebut akan menguraikan tentang tiga hal sehubungan dengan kajian stuktur teks yang diungkapkan Van Dijk. Pertama, perbandingan tematik  tajuk rencana harian Kompas dan Media Indonesia tentang nasib TKI. Kedua, perbandingan skematik tajuk rencana harian Kompas dan Media Indonesia tentang nasib TKI. Ketiga, perbandingan stilistik tajuk rencana haraian Kompas dan Media Indonesia tentang nasib TKI.Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskripstif untuk menjelaskan struktur teks tajuk rencana harian Kompas dan Media Indonesia berdasaran kategori analisis wacana Van Dijk. Pemaknaan tersebut dilakukan dengan memperhatian konteks yang melatarbelakanginya. Berdasarkan hasil pembahasan tentang perbandingan struktur teks tajuk rencana pada harian Kompas dan Media Indonesia dapat diungkapkan dengan menggunakan struktur tematik, skematik, dan stilistik sebagai teori Van Dijk. Penganalisisan wacana dapat memberikan kesimpulan bahwa bentuk sikap, langkah peletakan tulisan, serta pemilihan kata dalam sebuh wacana tidak dianggap sebagai suatu kesimpulan Kata Kunci: Tajuk rencana, Nasib TKI, Kompas, Media Indonesia
