Abstract

This writing purposes to understand on the musical instrument of gonrang in social dynamic of Simalungun people. As an ensemble, gonrang of Simalungun plays a significant role in the funeral ceremony. The main fuction of the percussion instrument is to summon the spirit of ancestors for advices and blessing. For Simalungun people, there are two gonrangs which is known, namely gonrang sipitu-pitu or gonrang bolon and gonrang sidua-dua dagang. However, the common term in accompanying a song for gonrang musical ensemble is gual.

Abstract

This writing analyzes that religion has some roles in human life. In the research of community, religion considered as an element of culture, which is not neglected to be studied. In some way, religion is believed frequently as the source of comprehensive values that cover even inspire derivative values which is developed in human life. In observation, practical religion in society is also developed from religion doctrines and adjusted with the cultural environment. The concourse of doctrines and cultures seems obviously in the pratice of rituals, so religion and culture indeed united in the community. Therefore, religion has many roles in the human life and public sphere. However, in line with changes of the world, how does the religion role in the human life?

Abstract

In 2015 we have entered in a free trade system in the Southeast Asian region which is called frequently as ASEAN Economic Society (MEA). We have known that MEA aims to increase the economic stability in the ASEAN region and forming a strong economic area  inter-ASEAN countries. By implementing MEA in the late of 2015, the member country of ASEAN will sell goods and services easily to the other countries throughout Southeast Asia so that this can effect to the very intensive competition. In this matter, the significant thing which should be done by the Indonesian government especially city government of Lhokseumawe in facing the MEA is by preparing the quality human resources to be compete in the regional and international level. For increasing the quality of human resources is through the educational instituion at least by increasing the role of school supervisor to oversee and control toward the educational process. Without supports of supervising of school, education will not work optimally because the school supervisors responsible in controlling and giving advices for educational achievements.

Abstract

Having breast cancer have a huge impact on quality of life of survivors. One of it is decreased psychological well-being. Psychological well-being is a description of the psychological health of individuals based on the fulfillment of the criteria that individual positive psychological functioning, encompassing  self-acceptance, positive relations with others, autonomy, environmental mastery, purpose in life and personal growth. Well-being therapy can apply to increase the level of psychological well-being in breast cancer survivors. Participants this study are two women with post-mastectomy breast cancer, metastases experienced last year, and is undergoing medical treatment such as chemotherapy. Well-being therapy conducted within a month, in five sessions. Results indicate that application of well-being therapy has changed their psychological well-being level to the better. They were more accepting with their health condition and have better relationships with the significant people. This is clout by good motivation, support from their significant  people during the therapy of process and using of religious aspects as one way in eudomanic approach to well-being therapy. In addition, the good rapport between researcher and participants is important to supported therapeutic effect.

Abstract

Enculturation process is done by parents, or the person considered as senior by children or by the younger. Manners, customs, skill of a tribes/family usually inherited to the next generation through enculturation. In the family, in the first time children have early direct experiences which will be used as provision of their life later by physical exercise, social, mental, emotional even spiritual.

Abstract

This research is the classroom action research (PTK). It is held toward students of Department of Agribusiness 4 semester sixth of academic year 2014/2015 Faculty of Agriculture North Sumatra Muhammadiyah University, which is amount 40 persons. The research aims to improve the student’s learning result that in the low level and did not achieve the minimum completeness criteria (KKM) of 65 score. This classroom action research uses learning media of video which is used as instrument to motivate the students in the learning process so that the learning result become better and achieve the score of KKM. The instruments are used by researcher is the 20-questions-multiple-choice and 5-question-essay test, observation sheet either for researcher or students, and using media of video. The student’s learning result of the first cycle is the highest score of 78 and the lowest score 56. While the student’s learning result in the second cycle obtaining the highest score of 88 and the lowest score of 68. The average score of first cycle is 68.65 experienced an increase in the second cycle with the average score of 81.15. This shows that learning media of video plays an important role in improving the student’s learning result.

Abstract

Generally, education is a type of effort which is conducted to foster and develop the human person (student) directly and gradually, because maturity and optimal development and growth of student is taking place through education process. Islamic education is one of effort to educate and Islamic teaching to be way of life of the one. Multicultural society is the community which able to forward various kinds of cultural diversity in the wider environment of society and believe that the diversity is an inevitability that cannot be denied. Therefore, this paradigm is point of view or attempt which can be directing society to find its space of life through various of sub-culture, so that it is not based on an ethnic sentiment, locality, religion, and primordialism rigidly. Teaching the multicultural paradigm—especially in the Islamic education—actually is not yet constituted by study and research deeply. Due to in Islamic perspective, that multiculturalism should be studied critically.

Abstract

Human trafficking is garbage of civilization which is hard to be fought. This sentence provide an invasion for all that human trafficking is a common enemy. Human trafficking is often done by agent who has national even international network, has power, strong physically and arrogance. Due to the victim of human trafficking is the group in the lower class of economy and education. Generally the victim of human trafficking is everyone without exception. Since Indonesian independence, it is considered as the initial step for enforcing human rights nationally to break free from violation of human rights and violence, either physical violence, sexual, or psychological violence. This writing will deal with on the human trafficking as form of human right violation.

Abstract

The aims of this research are to understand the forms of socialization held by General Election Commission (KPU) of Pematangsiantar City; to understand the communication channels conducted by KPU of Pematangsiantar City for socialization; to understand the factors affecting voters for electing; and to understand effect of socialization of spatial media of general election by General Election Commission of Pematangsiantar City in 2014 in Pematangsiantar City. The research method using in the research is correlation method. Population of the research is participant of socialization held by KPU of Pematangsiantar City. Its amount is 615 respondent. Technique for electing the sample in this research uses technique of slovin. Sample of the research amount of 85 respondent. Technique of collecting data in the research uses technique of questionnaire. The result of this research shows the forms of socialization held by KPU of Pematangsiantar City in legislative general election of 2014 is by using method of group communication. Communication channel which was used by KPU of Pematangsiantar City for socialization on the Legislative General Election of 2014 is by using direct communication (face to face). The factors are affecting the voters interest on 2014 General Election in Pematangsiantar City is language style which is used in socialization, frequency in accepting the message of general election by respondent after socialization and timing which is needed by KPU in conveying socialization matters.

Abstract

Mobility of the citizens due to domestic working which is commonly called as household assistant in Medan city, coming from marginal areas. Most of the workers leave for Medan in the morning and return home in the afternoon. However part of them live in Medan for weeks or months even years. They are coming from Tembung indicated by a large flow of bikers as long as Letda Soedjono Street contributing to traffic jammed on the crowded road. One of the some problems happening is over crowded which result in traffic jam. It is due to working they do for extra income to get financial suppot and for helping their husbans financing household. This work is not really demand a specific and difficult skill result of rely on the wowen instinct, patience, and work hard.
