Abstract

The higher education bears great responsibility and obligation, especially to develop intelectual human resources who can be contribute to state and nation such as in the fields of politic, law, economy, education, health, religion, and others for elevating quality of life and wealth of society. However young generation today, performs lower quality in moral and character, so that the higher education must improve the students’ morality and character along with all of its ‘civitas academica’. Educating character in the higher education purposes to anticipate degradation of character, and also serve to forms the hardy character of students for facing toward the various of challanges. By educating character the students become nation’s young intelectual who have prime pesonality as the goals of national education. The implementation of educating charater in the higher education should be teach the accentuate on the cognitive matter, but also on the affective, conative, and skilled matter. The important thing which should be noticed that learning character must be applied on all of the subject matter, so that, all the lectures and college’s employees pay attention to our nation and state.

Abstract

The subject of this research is 30 students at class Social Science-2 grade XII in SMA 12 of Medan, whilst the object of research is teaching method of inquiry. Whereas the tools of collecting data is score list of student. Based on pre-test to 30 students, resulting 27 students (90 percent) reached lower of learning outcome (not passed) by had not obtained yet 70 score of Minimal Passing Score and 3 students (10 percent) were categorized as passed and obtained 70 of Minimal Passing Score. Then in the first cycle, resulting 12 students (40 percent) were categorized as passed and reached 70 score of minimal, and 18 students (60 percent) were categorized as not passed and had not obtained yet 70 score of minimal.  In the second cycle, resulting 27 students (90 percent) were categorized as passed and obtained 70 score of minimal, and 3 students (10 percent) were categorized as not passed and had not reached yet 70 score of minimal. Based on result of the research from pre test, post test of both firts and second cycle, there were increasing of learning outcome significantly. Therefore can be concluded that by using method of inquiry, can be elvate learning outcome of students on the subject of Economy on subject matter of Basic Competence in Writing Closing Journal at class Social Science-2 grade XII in SMA 12 of Medan in 2012/2013 school year.

Abstract

The subject of this research is 43 students at class Social Science-1 grad XI, whereas the object of the research is teaching method of tasking, and data was collected by using list of observation and questionaire. Based on pre test to 26 students, resulting 10 students (38.5 percent) obtained lower learning outcome and only 4 students (15.4 percent) reached good score with average 64.3 percent. Then in first cycle, resulting 6 students (23.1 percent) gained good predicated with average score 65.2 percent. In the second cycle, the outcome climbed to 21 students (80.8 percent) gained good predicate of creativity with 86.5 score. By questionaire in the last meeting, resulting 3 students (11.5 percent) obtained lower score and only 21 students (80.7 percent) gained good score with average score of 80.5 percent. Based on the research starting the first to second cycle, empirically have proved thart learning outcome increases significantly. Therefore using method of tasking can be elevate students creativity on the subject of Sociology at class Social Science-1 grade XI in SMA 12 of Medan.

Abstract

The subject of this research is 24 students at class Natural Science-3 grade XII, while the subject is Teaching method of Tasking, as data collected by using observation list and questionaire. Based on pre test to 24 students, resulting 10 students obtained lower score and 11 students reached middle score, and only 3 students achieved good score with average score of 62.83 percent. Then in the first cycle of treatment, resulting 6 student were predicated good score, 12 students were predicated middle score, and the rest 6 students were predicated lower score with average score of 75.95 percent. In the second cycle of treatment, it climbs to 22 students reached good score, while 2 students obtained lower score, with average score of 86.16 percent. By the last questionaire, resulting 2 students got lower score, while 2 students got middle score and 20 students achieved good score, with average score of 88.08 percent. Based on the result of all first and second cycle, empirically proved that teaching method of tasking resulted increasing score significantly. Therefore, using teaching method of tasking could be elevate students’ creativity in the subject of Christian Religion at class Natural Science-3 grade XII in SMA 12 of Medan.

Abstract

This research aims at understanding efforts conducted by farmers to increase palm oil production in their plant, on all of the stages such as selecting the seed, planting, nursing, and capital in production of planting palm oil in Alur Manis Village. The population of the research is all of palm oil farmers amount 50 households in which all of them became sample in collecting data.  The research uses questionaire and document analyzing as technique in collecting data, while technique of descriptive used in analyzing data. The research shows that selecting for getting prime seed could elevate production of palm oil, and the best time in planting palm oil is in the beginning of rainy season. Whereas nursing should be conducted intensively since during planting to non productive period for earlier production of palm oil. The fertilizing should be conducted in three steps, such following; first step during in period of early age of plant, second step during in grower age of plant, third step during in productive age of plant., with considering maintaining the balance of organic substance of soil. The last that capital in farming positively impact to number of production.

Abstract

The subject of this research is 43 persons of students at class of Natural Science-1 grade XII, as the object is Teaching Method of Tasking, with collecting data conducted by using observation list and questionaire. Based on the pre-test to 43 students, shows that 22 students (55.2 percent) obtained lower score of learning result, and only 15 students (34.8 percent) predicated middle level of creativity, and 6 students (14 percent) predicate good level of creativity, and the average score reached is 62.9 percent. In the first cycle, 8 students (18.6 percent) achieved good predicate of creativity, while 22 students (52.5) predicated middle level of creativity, and 13 students (30.2 percent) predicated lower level ofcreativity, by the average score of 65.4 percent. In the second cycle, there is increasing of score by 30 students (69.8 percent) predicated good level of creativity and the achieved average score of 82 percent. By questionaire in the last meeting, there is increasing on 35 students (81.4 percent) predicated good level of creativity and only 3 students (7 percent) predicated lower level of creativity and the obtained average score of 84.9 percent. Based on the research, from the first to second cycle, empirically proved there are increasing of learning result significantly. Therefore, using method of tasking can be elevate creativity of students on the subject of Civic Education in the class of Natural Science-1 grade XII SMA 12 of Medan.

Abstract

Education indeed could be takes place through experiences which empirically can develops culture of learning for every students. However experience and education can not merely be equated because part of experience could not be educate. The not-educated experience is the one that obstruct on coming of the next experience. Whilst educated learning experience is the one that can encourage the students to evolve a change intentionally, so the change could be happen actively, effectively, and sustainable. This wiriting tries to construct, how the learning model of poject citizen can be develop experience in learning concern on civic. If realized that one of the matters in teaching civic nowadays is managing of class can not yet construct an atmosphere that can be provides experiences in learning for students, as the learning only emphasizes on cognitive aspect. Through community services activity, a training by using learning model  of ‘project citizen’ have done in SMP of Batubara Regency, the writer try various ideas regarding how learning model of project citizen could be constructs experience in learning civic .

Abstract

This research conducted in the State University of Medan, aims at under-standing : 1) the process of persuasive communication acted by librarian; 2) effectivity of marketing communication which is implemented by the library; 3) the library users satisfaction rate to the library services; 4) effectivity of persuasive communcation and marketing communcation to the user satis-faction. By using theory of marketing communication and theory of persua-sive communication, the fact findings being analyzed. The populatio of the research is all of registered members of the Unimed’s Library. Based on the adminstration data of the Library, its members amount 19,791. The sampel of the research number 392 of the population, which are selected by technique of purposive sampling. The result of the research represents that persuasive communication by librarian and marketing communication of Unimed’s Lib-rary positively impact to the users satisfaction of the Library.

Abstract

This research aims to understand the existence and benefit of Daycare for working wives, and factors for encouraging the housewives to board out their children. The research uses the qualitative method with the descriptive approach. Selecting informants is done by purposive sampling which is amount five persons. Data are collected by the techniques of observation, in depth interview and study of document. Analysing data is done sequentially by the steps of data reduction, displaying data, and conclusion.  The conclusion of the research is that Play Group since founded until today is needed, which is indicated by many of working wives board out their children in the Dharma Asih Daycare. In the beginning of founding in 1980, it only can accomodate 40 toddler, and since 2009 it increases capacity to 120 toddlers. The working wives get adventage such as feel relax in conducting their works because of not only caring of their toddlers but also be nursed and educated. The motivating factors are possibility for interacting of their children with peers, ability to socialize, independent and learning for doing routin activity.

Abstract

For empowering economic of the people (small enterprises), the government has enacted some regulations to provide facilities including credit for enterpreneur even resolving the marketing problem such as Law No. 20 of 2008 on Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises. This is a legal research of normative with the empirical approach based on the phenomenon in social field, then all of data is displayed systematically to be analyzed deductively. The population consists of 32 regency/city located in the North Sumatra Province, but sample is selected purposively namely five regency/city of them. Duration of the research is 2 years which is oriented on: to improve the policy of government considering small enterprises empowerment in Indonesia spesifically in North Sumatra, scientific publication in a local journal having international serial number (ISSN) or national acredited journal and textbook or handbook. Financial limitedness for developing micro, small and medium enterprises (UMKM) is the clasical problem found frequently in the developing countries. This effects to level of production and its development. The public grants provided by government for developing UMKM is distributed through the special financial agencies such as the bank for industrial development and agribusiness. The commercial banks are hoped to be able to participate in the sector by quota of credit, subsidy, tax income, and guarantee for failure.
