Abstract.Documentation of musical works in Indonesia has never been noticed by stakeholders (government) from the past to the present. The absence of agencies related to documenting Indonesian music works has caused the young generation to never know good quality domestic children's music. In the past music works were first produced in the form of vinyl or in Indonesia called “Piringan Hitam / PH”, then tapes, and finally on CD (Compact Disc). At the level of music lovers or collectors, Indonesian Music vinyl is the most sought-after music artifact, of high value due to the scarcity of its production. It is “interesting to look at the beauty of the style of vinyl records in the early recording industry in Indonesia at that time. This study would like to examine the history of the relationship between the style of design of the vinyl records in Indonesia in relation to the design style in America. Historical research methods used in the study of the style of art and design with research materials obtained from the observation of digital data (download) of the Irama Nusantara portal and literature studies from journal articles and related reference books. The results of the study showed that the relationship between vinyl design in Indonesia was influenced by the business relationship of the record label, the current design trend and the limitations of the cover designer / artist and the limitations of the printing technology at that time. Keywords: vinyl, design graphic, record label

Abstract

Abstract.Indonesia has a variety of cultures that produce works of art and one of them is a tattoo. The oldest tattoos in Indonesia are those owned by the Mentawai and Dayak tribes. But in its development the meaning of tattoos has been re-actualized into bad value. The shift in interpretation of tattoo stigma is used by A Mild to shape the positioning of its products in the minds of consumers. A Mild "You Will Figure it Out" took an extreme step, choosing to lift the identity of young minorities who were considered one eye, one of which was the character of a young tattooed person. The ad visualization study will be analyzed using descriptive qualitative methods. The analysis will be divided into two stages, first stage is analyzing audio visual elements in advertisements, namely hear words, color, music, picture, seen words and movement. As well as analyzing filmic dramatiology with cinematographic theory which includes the camera's point of view, image size, lighting and settings. Then in the second stage, it is analyzing the shift of interpretation using the semiotic approach which refers to Roland Barthes's theory. Thus, this study can provide knowledge and insights about advertising and the development of design science, in the form of the application of analysis and criticism of the meaning in advertising, especially in the formation of product interpretation and positioning. Keywords:tattoos, re-actualization, cigarettes, semiotics, advertising

Abstract

Abstract.Indonesia has a rich culture and has a lot of ancestral artifacts that are not widely known by its own people and one of them is a traditional weapon. For example, the island with the most populous population in Indonesia, namely Java. Traditional weapons on the island of Java began to be forgotten and not well known by the community, especially by the younger generation. One of the traditional weapon is Kujang Ciung. Today's young generation still thinks that traditional weapons that are commonly heard can only be used for rituals without knowing what history and the meaning behind it. This was due to the lack of appeals and information regarding traditional Indonesian weapons. This phenomenon is the basis of the designer to create a design that can impact the young generation so that they are motivated and provoked to preserve their own traditional weapons, such as a game design. Game as a medium that continues to evolve as well as one of the technologies that is close to the younger generation. One of the ways to introduce weapons (kujang), is to make a personification based of Kujang weapons that will become one of the characters in the game. Personification method will be used so that the younger generation can get to know kujang in a more simple and interactive way. Smartphone will be used as its platform because the younger generation is more accustomed to gadgets and technology. This design research will use a qualitative descriptive approach with Case Study, Content and Image Analysis methods to examine references that can be used as a strong foundation in making personification of Kujang as a character in the traditional Java island weapons game. Keywords:personification, Kujang Ciung, digital game

Abstract

Abstract.Pasren as a symbol of worship of Dewi Sri in Javanese society, is one of the cultural phenomena. Even though Pasren is no longer well known, even forgotten, but is it true that Pasren is truly extinct, or is it just a form transformation (transformation) both in terms of concept and physical form? This paper tries to answer these questions using Levi-Strauss structural analysis, through the concept of grammar transformation to describe deep structure. The results of the observation show the occurrence of grammar transformation of the concept of happiness and well-being from the existence of KB television and monument in Bantul, Yogyakarta. Keywords: visual-culture,symbol, pasren, structural analysis, grammar-transformation.Relevance to Visual Communication Design Practice: The discussion of visual culture with Levi Strauss's structuralism approach can be an alternative point of view in the research of Visual Communication Design in Indonesia.
