Abstract

One of Semarang government’s efforts to support urban tourism is airport development. It affects changes in access to and from Ahmad Yani Airport. Madukoro corridor is a priority because it is the first corridor through which migrants from outside Semarang come by air. However, there are issues related to urban tourism in Madukoro corridor, elements that are currently not optimal in supporting tourism activities in Semarang, especially those located around the PRPP destinations, Grand Maerakaca, and Kampung Laut. This study aims to find the most optimal structuring strategy in Madukoro corridor to better support urban tourism in Semarang on the coast, without neglecting its ecological conditions. To be able to explore the potential and identify problems that exist in Madukoro corridor, this research was carried out using a mixed-method in the form of a qualitative method that was quantified by weighing and rating. The study was conducted using a SWOT analysis equipped with a SWOT matrix to determine the most appropriate strategy. This research is also equipped with a strategic analysis of internal factors (IFAS) and external factors (EFAS) so that the score values can be converted on a quadrant graph to determine the type of strategy that should be used. From the results of the SWOT analysis, to develop urban tourism the strategy taken is progressive, prioritizing according to Weakness-Opportunity strategies, with implications for the physical development of city infrastructure, utilization of commercial buildings in the surrounding area, ease of accessibility to Grand Maerakaca, and Kampung Laut as well as improving the quality of the Nodes that affect the spatial pattern of regional circulation and regional landmark.

Abstract

The reactivation plan of the Madiun-Slahung railway line in the National Railway Master Plan is the main program for the development of the railway network and service stage IV in 2026-2030, therefore it is necessary to conduct research on the demand for traction and generation as well as passenger interest in the future Madiun- This shelters are reactivated. Based on the results of data analysis and discussion of the calculation of the Madiun-Slahung area, it can be concluded that the model of the reactivation area of the Madiun-Slahung railway covers 7 districts, consisting of 45 sub-districts/villages. The method used is a household survey (Household Interview) which is intended to produce data on travel patterns and characteristics that affect the trip. The number of trip generation occurs in the range of numbers 6939-22594 motorbikes/hour for trip production and 1123-52265 motorbikes/hour for trip attraction, where zone 2, Kartoharjo sub-district has the largest number of trip production and zone 4, Ponorogo sub-district has the largest number of trip attractions. This is due to the high population, number of vehicle ownership and the strength of attraction due to the large number of shops and campuses and schools in the zone. The largest travel distribution value occurs in zone 4, because the zone is land use for shops, offices, campuses and schools.

Abstract

Based on data from the Semarang City Fire Department in 2013-2016, 1028 fire incidents took place in Semarang City. This incidence reached its highest in 2015 with 399 cases of fire which caused material losses of up to IDR 398.3 billion. Based on these figures, Semarang City possesses the highest incidence rate of fire cases in Central Java Province. However, studies on the risk and mitigation of fire hazard disasters in Semarang City still need to be carried out. This study aims to identify fire risks, to mitigate the disaster’s hazards in Semarang City, and to provide recommendations for arranging relevant buildings and the environment. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method, in which interviews are conducted with key persons, with the utilization of GIS analysis to assess the risk of fire. The results of this study exhibit that in Semarang City, 14 villages have a high level of fire hazard risk, one of which is Rejosari Village which has the highest level of fire risk. This occurred mainly because historically, there have been many fire incidents in this area and even claiming several lives. The density of buildings and the difficulty of access further increase vulnerability in the case of fire. Nevertheless, the inhabitants still lack an understanding of this hazard. Accordingly, the fundamental mitigation to be carried out in Rejosari Village is to increase community comprehension and to consider the addition of fire protection and safety facilities, including hydrants, in densely populated buildings and areas, in order to reduce the risk of fire hazards.

Abstract

In urban areas in Indonesia, traffic jams are usually not spared due to the large number of movement activities caused by the community. As happens on Gajah Mada Road, Denpasar, there are pretty frequent traffic jams, considering that this area is located in the middle of the city, where there are shophouses or shops situated side by side almost all the way. This problem is worthy and interesting to research to find out the situation. If passing vehicles are made to ride public transportation, how significant an impact will be, considering that the public transportation (Trans Metro Dewata) that often crosses this road is not operating as intended. The analysis was carried out in 3 time periods, with each period, namely morning at 06.00 - 08.00 WITA, noon at 11.00 - 13.00 WITA, and afternoon at 16.00 - 18.00 WITA. Based on the use of analysis of road performance in the form of degree of saturation with adjusted road service levels, and varied by adding assumptions regarding the use of public transportation that is likely to be effective. So, the results obtained align with the direction of this research, which found that between the original traffic flow conditions and the existing assumptions, there was a change of 7% to 24% in the level of road service. This is quite influential because it can be applied as a solution to the congestion.

Abstract

The application of biopolymers as a more environmentally friendly alternative to cement has emerged as an interesting research subject.The purpose is to enhance the shear strength of sandy soils. In this article, the selected biopolymer is cationic-modified starch. It is expected that cationic starch will have less water absorption properties since modified starch has cationic groups in place of the OH- groups found in the normal starch. This cationic-modified starch namely Amylofax. Five types of samples are created for this testing, including Sample A is prepared with the composition of  (silica sand + 2% Amylofax T1100 (w/w) + 20% water (w/w))., Sample B consists of (silica sand + 2% Amylofax T2200 (w/w) + 20% water (w/w))., Sample C is comprised of (silica sand + 2% Amylofax T1100 (w/w) + 2% Glucomannan (w/w) + 20% water (w/w)), Sample D consists of (silica sand + 2% Amylofax T2200 (w/w) + 2% Glucomannan (w/w) + 20% water (w/w)), and Sample E includes (Ottawa sand + 2% cement (w/w) + 20% water (w/w)). The samples were tested using a direct shear test apparatus to determine the soil shear strength parameters (c) cohesion and (Ø) internal friction angle. After conducting the tests on the sand samples with the addition of modified starch biopolymer (cationic starch), it was found that the cohesion value was 961kPa, and the internal friction angle was 63°. These results indicate higher shear strength values compared to sand mixed with natural starch.

Abstract

The condition of water availability in the Batukarut area is unstable in meeting clean water and irrigation needs, so there is a need for further analysis in fulfilling clean water and irrigation. The aim of this research is to determine the conditions of water availability, determine the amount of clean water needed and irrigation needs and the distribution of water when there is a shortage. The method used to determine water availability is the FJ Mock (1973) method with the water balance principle. The research results show that water availability in Batukarut using Q 90%, the maximum discharge occurs in February with a value of 231.5 liters/second and the minimum value occurs in September and October with a value of 87.3 liters/second. PDAM Tirta Bumi Wibawa Sukabumi's clean water requirement is 150 liters/second. Regarding water requirements for irrigation, the maximum requirement occurs in May with a discharge of 414.4 liters/second, while the minimum requirement occurs in November with a value of 0.00 liters/second. The distribution of water needs in February requires clean water of 150 liters/second and irrigation needs of 87.3 liters/second, the distribution of water needs in October of clean water needs of 50 liters/second, irrigation needs of 37.3 liters/second.

Abstract

The study concerns steady pipe flows within 90o-bend and T-junctions, the head loss coefficients and the physical mechanisms responsible for the energy loss. Numerical viscous flow modelling based on SimpleFOAM solver were implemented in the study. Although secondary flow acts as the mechanism of energy loss in both the bend and in the branch flow of T-junction, the head loss coefficient in the former more critically depends on Reynolds (Re) number. This is supported by the comparison of the streamline fields and the radially varying profiles of the pressures from both cases. The location of flow separation prior to the secondary flow in the bend changes with Re number unlike the fixed location at the junction in the branch flow. The study confirms a practical implication related to the dependence of the head loss coefficients for pipe with 90o-bend and T-junction on flow velocity in an analysis of pipe network.

Abstract

This study evaluates the residential satisfaction of government-provided four-storey apartment buildings within civil-servant housing in Naypyitaw City, Myanmar. The research is based on a questionnaire survey conducted in nine civil-servant housing complexes situated in Naypyitaw's residential zone. Its primary objective is to identify key attributes that can enhance residents' satisfaction with these apartment buildings and provide recommendations for future housing development. Utilizing a multi-cluster sampling method and employing face-to-face interviews, respondents rated attribute importance and satisfaction using a five-point Likert Scale. The collected data were subjected to Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA), revealing ten priority attributes for improving residential satisfaction. These findings suggest that enhancing residents' contentment involves modifying and reviewing factors such as Ceiling Height, Layout Plan of Apartment, Size of Rooms and Corridor, Numbers of Rooms, Staircase Design, and addressing Neighborhood Relations. Additionally, the study underscores the importance of situating housing near essential amenities like Schools for Children, Shopping Locations, Places of Worship, and Police Stations to create a more livable city.

Abstract

Tempuran Reservoir is one of the existing water supply reservoirs in the Jratun Seluna River Basin located in Blora Regency. This reservoir has an important role to store water in the rainy season, provide raw water, and irrigate around 420 ha of surrounding land, so it is necessary to maintain its management so that it can continue to function optimally. However, sedimentation is often the main problem for the reservoir, which occurs as a result of the erosion process in the Tempuran Reservoir Catchment Area which then settles to the bottom of the reservoir. In addition, climatic conditions are thought to be a factor that greatly influences erosion. This is exacerbated by the fact that Blora Regency is an area that often experiences drought due to low rainfall. Therefore, this study aims to determine the development of erosion rates and the level of erosion hazard in the Tempuran Reservoir catchment area in 2017-2021, and to predict the sediment yield flowing into Tempuran Reservoir in 2017-2021. The method used to predict erosion results is the Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE) and utilizes the Sediment Delivery Ratio (SDR) to predict sediment yield entering the reservoir. The results showed a decrease in the erosion rate of -1773,357 tons/ha/year in 2019 and continued to decrease by -66,694 tons/ha/year in 2021. The most influential factor in reducing the erosion rate in the Tempuran Reservoir catchment area is the rain erosivity factor. Meanwhile, sedimentation carried to Tempuran Reservoir in 2019 decreased by -117,344 tons/ha/year and in 2021 there was also a decrease of -4,413 tons/ha/year.

Abstract

Abstract.This research paper is to study the decreasing strength of a 22,1 meter long span Prestressed Concrete U Girder due to two strands in a tendon out of six tendon are not being able to be stressed. This matter is a cause of an error in the implementation of the PC-U girder manufacturing resulted in a reduction in the area of the tendon sleeve (duct), two out of seven pieces of the strand cannot be inserted completely. PC-U girder performance will suffer a strength decrease, it needs to be checked and handled.  This paper is an actual project condition and researched to verify how much strength reduction due to such a case.  Analysis is performed to measure and compare the moment capacity of a cross-sectional conditions in accordance with the results of the designed section. Moment capacity analysis is carried out to determine the ability of the cross section to support the working load with a bonded tendon. Research methodology involves calculation of moment capacity Mu using trial and error processes of calculating the depth of neutral axis c using Equilibrium Equation so that with a trial c value, ultimate prestressed strain value εpu and ultimate prestresses stress value σpu are coincided in the Moment-Curvature curve line. Using the overlapped c value, Moment capacity of the girder with full strand can be calculated. A similar procedure is performed with reduced strand number. The difference between the two are the reducing prestressed concrete strength. Evaluating both analyses, it is found that a decrease in the moment capacity of the cross section as much as 530,93 kNm to the designed moment capacity of 18.108,06 kNm or approximately 2,93% of its original designed strength.
