Lesbian behavior is only beginning to be something suitable for consumption by lesbian world, but a decade now, the worldbecomes a product and lesbian public consumption, like it or not there are very real to all of us before and we have to address in the frame is a multicultural society. Another purpose of this paper does not want to look back on how far the phenomenon of lesbians, particularly in the 1980s or when the author was a student of Anthropology in 2005, as an inscription which is still a draft paper for course assignments Sex, Society, and Culture is still very relevant to today’s world, although in fact, when compared with the world Gay, lesbian world more closed. The method used is descriptive analysis, through the later cases seen in theory and then interpreted. The result of this thinking , states that the discourse of “ lesbian “ in the era of technology is not new and taboo. Today, the lesbian world is very open and acceptable in all walks of life. Lesbian world considered marginal. This assessment is different from the standpoint of psychological, social, cultural, and religious. In the context of a patriarchal tradition, always puts the position of women as subordinate to men. Thus , in order to be accepted in the lesbian community, especially the middle of the environment, whether family, friends hanging out, and the others, then lesbians must take an active role in various social activities, social organizations, even religious.

The source ofdata is collected through observation and semi-structured interviews during 2013- 2014. The articleuses the habitus theory from Bourdieu and the identity concept of ‘in between’ from Bhaba. Bedhaya at Palace dance was originally a sacred dance that is laden with symbols of life because it’snot just a dance movement, but an action that is displayed and that becomes the life reference. Bedhayais presented as a mirror of Javanese culture axiological which includes ethical and aesthetic values . Itis a reflection of manunggaling kawula-Gusti in terms of its ethical dimension and it has the aestheticvalues of the motion, fashion, and makeup. Bedhaya dance philosophy is summaried in the doctrineof ngelmu sangkan paran covering three things: the first it’s related to the human consciousness thatcomes from God (urip iki saka sapa); the second, it is irelated to the duties and obligations of humanbeings in the world (urip iki arep apa); and the third, it is related to man’s return to his Lord (urip ikipungkasane piye). Therefore, in the moral ethics context, Javanese life purpose is how to be a good manto reach the manunggaling kawula with Gusti as it is believed that goodness and beauty (mind) are themanifestation of the Essence of the Most Holy. The journey of human life portrayed in lampah bedhayaof majeng beksa , beksa to mundur beksa is a role model to determine the choice between good and bad .

Abstract

Subjudul buku ini memberikan gelagat bahwa ia tengah mengadopsi pemikiran Ben Anderson dalam Imagined Communities: Reflections on the Origin and Spread of Nationalism (1991) tentang negara sebagai sebuah “Komunitas Terbayang.”

After the fall of the Soeharto regime was like the fresh air for the ethnic Chinese in Indonesia inarticulating cultural identities, especially after the issuance of Presidential decree Number 6 of 2000which revoked Presidential Instruction Number 14 of 1967 on religion, beliefs, and customs of China. With that Presidential decree, Chinese people were free to celebrate the religious ceremony and customs,as well as featuring Barongsai (Lion Dance) in front of public. Consequently, Barongsai became popularand transformed into a cultural icon as well as “obligatory menu” for city event. Barongsai allegedlyunderwent commodification along with its popularity. However, that signal was responded byBarongsai activists as the consequence of efforts to survive and conquer the market. Through the mindsetof yin and yang, commodification discourse is abrogated and appropriated by Barongsai activists, socommodification is not just an effort to maintain and preserve the ancestral cultural heritage, identity, and cultural pride due to the accomplishments achieved

Abstract

The problems of Indonesian migrant workers (TKI), especially Indonesian migrant workers are complex. Weak regulation in favor of migrant workers and regulatory abuses are common. In addition, there is no clarity as to what can be done for ex-migrant workers working abroad. There is an idea in the era of the ASEAN Economic Community (MEA) that former migrant workers be transformed into entrepreneurs with competency and integrity that conform to international standards. This paper will answer deeper regarding the dynamics and social problems among migrant workers and the potential for transformation into entrepreneurs in the era of the MEA. The methods were used in this study are qualitative methods as well as social and legal (juridical) perspectives related to regulation by conducting library research and collecting relevant documents.
