Abstract

Smoking behavior is something a person does in the form of burns and smoke tobacco and causes smoke inhaled by people around him. As a result of exposure to secondhand smoke is not only active smokers but also the passive smokers. This is a descriptive study. The research sample is a few students SMA Negeri I Kakas were randomly selected and are willing to respondents. This study used a questionnaire distributed to selected respondents. Conclusion: Picture of student knowledge and attitude towards the dangers of smoking were categorized either. While the action on the dangers of smoking is not considered good. Abstract

Clean and Health Behaviour is one of the health promotion program’s priorities made by the government through clinic and become a target of the health management. Tuminting includes of nine sub districts in Manado City. Because no reports are discovered about the description of Clean and Health Behavior on Residents in Region 6 Tuminting Sub-District, the writer is interested to research about this issue. This research is aimed to discover the description of CnHB of Residents on Residents in Region 6 Mahawu District, Tuminting Sub-District including: Medical Team’s involve  on childbirth, exclusive breastfeeding, availability of clean water, usage of clean water and soap on hand washing, availability of health latrine, larvae’s eradication in houses, fruits and vegetables’ daily consume, daily physical activity and not smoking inside the house. This research is a descriptive research with 81 respondents. The data are collected by interview based on questionnaire and presented by using tabulation and percentage. The research shows a great result of CnHB on Residents in Region 6 Mahawu District, Tuminting Sub-District. Around 67% represents good knowledge and 33% for bad knowledge, 75% represents good attitude and 25% for bad attitude, 54% represents good behavior and 46% for bad behavior.Keywords: socioeconomic status, nutritional status. Abstract

According to the vision that the future of the indonesian government about PHBS of indonesian who live in a healthy environment, the behavior of clean and healthy, able to reach health services, fair and equitable. The purpose of this research is to reveal the students knowledge of students of class VII at Catholic Junior High School Santa Theresia Manado about healthy behavior. This is descriptive study using a proportional approach. The sampling method used simple randam sampling with a sample of 55 people from a population of 120 people. The results obtained show that the knowledge of students of class VII at Catholic Junior High School Santa Theresia Manado is good, 100% of respondents knew how to wash their hands, and then 100% of respondents knew about healthy snacks, and by 87,3% of respondents knew about the use of latrines, then about 98,4% of respondents knew about the benefits of exercise, and approximately 96,3% of the respondents knew about the eradacation of mosquito larvae exercise, and then  approximately 96,3% respondents know about the dangers of smoking and about 80% respondents know about weighing and measuring height, and 100% of respondents  knew about the habit of taking out the trash. Abstract

Eating habits are behaviors associated with food, one meal frequency, pattern of food eaten, food distribution within the family and how to choose food. Purpose of research was conducted with the aim of eating known picture of scenic urban residential communities allandrew Malalayang I environment XI Manado city. The method of this study include descriptive study using survey method. The population of the whole of society is taken Permai housing environment Allandrew XI aged 25-55 years and amount to as many as 480 people with a sample of 90 people, systematic sampling with a random sampling technique. The data obtained through interviews using a prepared questionnaire. The results obtained rice (55%) bread (38.9%), soybean (78.9%), tahu (97.8%), fish (55.6%), chicken meat (34.4%), pork (65.5%), vegetables (70%), fruits (28.9%), fried bananas (46%), Crepes (50%), malabar (47.8%), tea (52 , 2%), coffee (37%) and milk (18.9). The conclusion of this study concluded that frequent type of food consumed from the staple food is rice and bread, vegetable side dishes are tempeh and tofu, animal side dishes are fish, chicken and pork, vegetables, fruits, food additives such as fried banana, martabak and malabar, while drinks such as tea, coffee and milk. Abstract

Universal precautions is an efforts undertaken in the framework of preventive protection, and minimize cross-infection among health care workers and patients as a result of direct contact with the patient, or the patient's body fluids, and infected with contagious diseases. The purpose of research is to describe the implementation of the universal precautions in the Tanawangko Health Center. This research is a descriptive study. The results showed all respondents always wash their hands before and after performing medical procedures, all respondents always wash their hands with soap and flowing water, 45.45% of respondents did not use a mask when treat patients, all respondents always use gloves when contact with blood or body fluids, 13.64% of respondents did not use gloves when cleaning medical equipment, all respondents always take steps decontamination and sterilization, all respondents always wash medical equipment after use with soap or detergent, 9.09% of respondents did not close the syringe needle with one hand method, 22.73% of respondents did not dispose needle and other sharps in special containers, 77.27% of the respondents did not dispose of medical waste and non-medical in the trash bin. Abstract

Universal Precautions is simple effective ways designed to protect healthcare workers and patients from infection of various pathogens. The purpose of this study is to describe the implementation of universal precautions in health centers of Paniki Bawah, Mapanget District of Manado City. This descriptive study has been conducted in October 2012 - December 2012 and sampling by using the total population method.The study results showed that all of the respondents wash their hands with soap, 6.67% respondents do not always wash their hands before contact with patients, all of the respondents wash their hands after contact with patients, (100%) of the respondents always wash hands when exposed to blood or body fluids, (3.33%) of respondents did not use sterile gloves when contact with blood or body fluids, (3.33%) of respondents did not use gloves when cleaning medical equipment, (10% ) of respondents did not always wear a mask when treating patients with suspected TB, (100%) of respondents always perform decontamination and sterilization procedures for medical equipment, (100%) of respondents said yes to the container waterproof and resistant to punctures, (100%) respondents always discard needles / sharps in the container, (100%) respondents said there were bins of medical and non-medical (100%) of the respondents dispose of medical waste and nonmedical according to the space provided. Abstract

Anxiety is signal that disenchant themselves to take action overcome the threats. The action sectio caesarean with various complication evoked anxiety. Excessive anxiety can result inhibition seem that the process of  labor operating. Availability hospital services that profesional and qualified important to ensure process labor operating rnning smoothly so as to reduce  feelings anxiety. Purpose research is  find out the different levels  anxiety mother pre sectio caesarean in RSIA Kasih Ibu dan RSUP. Prof. Dr. R. D. Kandou Manado. The research usin the analytic method apply plan crossectional. Sampling using consecutive sampling. Taking data done on 12 October-12 December 2012. Instrument used is HARS to measure level anxiety the mothers pre sectio caesarean and questionnare of service quality to service quality in each hospital. The result showed that there are difference mothers pre section caesarean in both hospitals. Based on the results the study suggested that the public better understand the emotional state the mother who will face action caesarean Caesarea, and to provide emotional support to the mother's contribution. Abstract

The increasing problems as well as life expectancy become a problem that needs to be considered along number of elderly is consistently over time. Elderly Health is directed to maintain and improve the health and ability to remain productive; government efforts to organize health sports of elderly in health centers in order to improve the quality of life optimally. Therefore, the purpose of this study to determine how the challenges and obstacles of Eldery Sport Health programe in Community Health Centers of Manado City.This study using qualitative methods while the informants were the head of health centers and the holder of sport health programs incommunity Health Centers of Manado City.Data collection using in-depth interviews and observational methods. This research showed only founded in four community health centers which priority to implement it, while most of others not yet implemented due to some challenging and obstacles. The conclusion in the face of challenges, health centers must prepare trained personnel comply the aspects of quantity (amount) and quality (ability), provision of funds taken from operational health support if all activity must have the fullest, facilities and infrastructure are prepared to support the implementation of sport health programs; face of barriers, community healt center should socialize with the hope of can improve knowledge of the elderly and their families in the health sport benefits, and the cooperation with community organizations in the implementation of sport healt programs can be together. Abstract

Clean and Healthy Behavior is a picture of the family life’s pattern that’s always caring and keeping the healthiness of the whole family members. Clean and Healthy Behavior should be applied as early as possible to make a positive behavior of the health’s upkeep. The application of CHB in North Sulawesi in 2004 was only around 17,95% and for Minahasa was 16,67%. Those numbers are still far behind the 65% that was targeted in 2010. One of CHB’s Indicators is the availability of latrine. Latrine is made for people feces’ disposal. The latrine usage is purposed to keep the clean and health environment. This research is aimed to discover the relation between the CHB of household and the latrine usage in Children Development Center ID-127 Ranomuut District, Manado City. This research is an analytic research and using cross sectional method. The location is taken in CDC ID-127 Ranomuut District, Manado City with 68 respondents consist of parents of children in age’s 3-5 in CDC. The research that is examined by using chi square test in SPSS program, shows no significant correlation between CHB and latrine usage (p=0,000) and a strong prove to receive the null hypothesis which is no correlation between CHB and latrine usage in CDC ID-127 Ranomuut District, Manado City. Abstract

Malaria is one of the disease that gives quite high morbidity and mortality in this wolrd. Malaria is a disease with the 3rd amount of death. In Indonesia, Malaria is still main healthy problem because it influences rate of illness in baby, give birth mother and caused extraordinary event ( KejadianLuarBiasa – KLB ). Based on RISKESDA 2009/2010 Ma-laria case in Sulawesi Utara is 61, 7 %. The goal of this research is to figure out the knowledge and preventing action has been done by Tateli citizen over Malaria disease. This research is a descriptive and survey method. The sampling of this research has been taken at Jaga I, that is one of the area where the mosquito grow. The result of this research shows that the knowledge of Tateli I Jaga I citizen is good, shown by caused and signed of Malaria that has been known for 90 % and the preventing action over Malaria disease is not really good, because we can find 76 % that didn’t use wire, and 89 % didn’t use mosquito net in their house.
