Abstract

THE EPISTIMOLOGY OF ARCHIPELAGO ISLAMIC EDUCATION   (The  interpretative  Study   –  Symbolic  on  the Campus Role, Al-Quran Islamic School and Custom Institution): The Islamic educational institutions need to be back and know the historical  root to confirm the identity,  character, distinctiveness and uniqueness. There is the timeless spirit to underlying model of ideal education in the contemporary era. The history of Islamiceducation  was initiated  by the  trustees  is a reflection  of how Islam should be delivered. In the contemporary era of Indonesian Muslims, the spirit of Islamic education in the style of the trustees found that the momentum and the three existing educational institution are including schools, colleges, and traditional institutions. Those three institutions need the contextual  efforts, synergies,  and  modifications   to  improve.  If  those systems  in the three institutions have been connected,  the epistemology  of Islamic education Archipelago can be realized.

Abstract

The emergence of the Peasant radicalism is not caused by any defect in the social structure, but because the process of exploitation  and domination of one class against another. The Peasant radicalism is understood as a reaction of the proletariat against the bourgeoisie, is an expression  of a contradictory  class structure.  The  Socio- economic deprivation and the political repression of the state and economic power market  / capitalism  is a factor  that  grows and develops exclusivism resistance. Moreover when there are agrarian policies that harm the interests  of the farmers, both in accessing and in the mastery of agrarian resources (land), will give birth to an increasingly harsh peasant resistance, militant,  emotional and destructive.  The radicalism done by farmers Muslim community, makes  the  religion  fanaticism  as a movement  ideology  and an inspiration source as well as the value used in constructing communalism,  even they are able to construct  radicalism  using religious symbols as edging actions  taken thus further motivate and mobilize the resistance.  Nevertheless  resistance  farmers led by warsidi failures, even appearing new stigma as the movement of security meddler who want to establish an Islamic state.

Abstract

THE   CONCEPT   OF   THEOLOGY   IN   MANUSCRIPT   BY CATOR MI’RÃJ. “Measuring the Moslem and the Culture in Madura”:  The  manuscript  by Cator  Mi’rãj  is the  classic  songs islam Madura. And it was originally in use by the all Wali, where the trustees  at that time preaching and introduced Islam through cultures  and among them  was a song-macapat.  Sunan  Bonang, Sunan Kalijaga, Sunan Giri and Sunan Kudus, and Sunan Muria are the creators  the beginning  of the song-macapat.  This study uses  the  library  research.  By taking  many factors  such  as the extent  of the discussion, the limited time and ability, the author will limit the objects of the research and the study of theological elements  that  contained  in the  manuscript  Cator  Mi’raj.  What value can be retrieved  from the text  from Cator Mi’raj and the theological  concepts  in the text  of the Mi’raj Cator?  Based on the methods  that  have  been  used,  the  concepts  of God in the manuscript of Cator  Mi’raj is revealed,  it is also including  the Universal Theology  of Human Behavior Theology, and Theology Theocentric  and Theology Anthropocentric.

Abstract

The Constitutional Court  Decision  Number  140/PUU-VII/2009 regarding  the case of judicial  review of Law No. 1/PNPS/1965 about   the   Prevention   of  Abuse   and/or   blasphemy   is   very important  for the study  of the development  of religious  life in Indonesia,  especially  for the  study  of “Islam  Nusantara”.  This paper will describe ebates  in the trial  to assessed the extent  to which the views of the majority  of the people related  with  the norms of the Law. In addition, this paper also will be describe the Constitutional Court’s  decision  on the  petition.  After  that,  the authors examine the relationship between the Constitutional Court decision and the existence of “Islam Nusantara”  in Indonesia. In conclusion, the Constitutional Court through Decision No. 140/ PUU-VII/2009  provided constitutional guarantees  on  religious practices like “Islam Nusantara”.

Abstract

Politics, coming back to its original meaning which might be defined  as influencing  other  people  and which  is involves  the making  of  a  common  decision  for  people,  then,  life  is  never politics-free.  When we are thinking,  we are contributing  in the political  life, how to influence or how to be influenced, how to make a decision in life or how to follow a decision. Politics contain of many dimensions,  one might  think  politics  in a negative  or positive way depending on which dimensions he stick the politics with. Political party is one of the main institutions in the political life which used in practicing the democracy as the representative system needed by the community.  It used as a media to transfer the political messages from the community  to the government, as peoples’ media to send their aspiration  to the people ‘above’, which existence is influencing the development of the policies of the country depending on its effectiveness. As a Muslim-Largest country,  Islam has a very important role in Indonesia’s political zone. Though,  not everything  that  has an “Islam” name is able to completely represent Islamic values and so some “non-Islam” might  also  represent  Islamic  ethical  values.  The  point  of this article is to focus more on how is the relationship between politics and Islam in Indonesia by observing the development  of Islamic Political Parties  and its phenomena. It will be well observed by the  historic-phenomenology  approach,  which  is describing  and observing the history of Islamic Political Parties in Indonesia and the social facts that happened in the society

Abstract

INDONESIAN JURISPRUDENCE: ISLAMIC LAW TRANSFORMATION   IN  LAW  SYSTEM  OF  INDONESIA.: This  study  discusses  about  the  idea  of  Islamic  law renewal in Indonesia,  as well as the  figures,  and it  makes  the  term  of Indonesian Jurisprudence   and  its  formalization   into  the  law system  of Indonesia.  The  purpose of this  study  is to  find  the answer  of these  following  points:  Firstly,  the interpretation or definition of Indonesian Jurisprudence concept; secondly, the figures who proposed Indonesian Jurisprudence and the result of their thoughts;  and the third, the formalization  of Jurisprudence concept  with  Indonesian  nuance  in the  law  system Indonesia. This study was a library research with a content analysis method. The results of this study are: (1) Indonesian Jurisprudence could be interpreted  as a Jurisprudence concept that is more Indonesian local-based; (2) Hasbi As-Shiddiqi  and Hazairin are two figures who proposed Indonesian Jurisprudence model, apart from other intellectuals. Hasbi is one of modernists  who offered his ideas comprehensively, started from his “Indonesian Jurisprudence” concept until the law renewal including its principle and method. Meanwhile Hazairin offered the development  of a new heritage system  which  interpreted   and  elaborated  based  on Al-Qur’an scriptural perception and Sunnah which is not a patrilineal system but bilateral family model); and (3) formalization  of Indonesian Jurisprudence   concept   produces   some   ordinance   regulation products  which are important  formally  and materially,  such as Ordinance  of Islamic Marriage Law, and also other  rules under the Ordinance, such as Government  Law, President  Instruction, and Supreme Court Law, as well as Islamic Law Compilation and Sharia Economic Law Compilation

Abstract

FIQH TEXTS BANJARESE ULAMA CONTNUITY AND DEVELOPMENT STUDY OF FIQH ECOLOGY: Fiqh texts play an important role in the Muslim community throughout the ages. Fiqh texts become the code of conduct for Muslim to make their deeds valid and in accordance with the teachings  of Islam. Fiqh texts as intellectual  products have an important role to determine the level of creation and as means to observe the progress of the intellect of a Muslim community. In addition, fiqh texts produced can  be  a  hint  towards  a  particular  school  of  thought  and  as critical study materials to perform continuity and development of intellectual  work. Banjarese Ulama (from Banjarese ethnic)  are known by their religiosity. The work in the field of jurisprudence was  also  born from  them  since  Sabilal  Muhtadin  in  the  18th century  until Mabadi Ilmu ‘Fiqh of the 20th century.  However, the continuity  of the  intellectual work that  appreciates  for the environment, especially on water ecology, which characterizes the ecology of Banjar, is inadequate. This shows the “unthinkable” in an intellectual  creation, as described in the results of this study.

Abstract

This paper tries to explain about the details of Islam of Archipelago which  is now  getting   the  momentum  back,  even  though  the initial  idea about Islam of Archipelago  is not really new. Islam of  Archipelago   attempts   to make  a  dialogue  from  religious text  which  comes  from  the  revelation with  local  contents  on earth, to actualize  limited  text  of religion with unlimited  social phenomenon in society. Islam of Archipelago is on the effort to find the possible various interpretations without changing the law itself.  Because the existence  of text  is limited  whereas a social phenomenon is unlimited, even it is dynamically developing, the process of dynamic dialectic proves that  Islam is appropriate  in any place and everlasting any time.

Abstract

LEADERSHIP    STYLE   OF   KYAI   LUKMAN   AL-KARIM IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF ISLAMIC EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION:  A CASE STUDY IN PESANTREN  BAHRUL MAGHFIRAH, MALANG: The leadership is not something that can only  be learned  and researched.  Even  in leadership,  many types can be found; character  and the most protrude  leadership action from a person who has an important role in his achievement to  lead  his  institution.  This  research  was  conducted  through field research using qualitative  model. Researcher inspected  the opinions of Kyai Lukman thinking  in his efforts to develop and advance his pesantren. The result of this research is: to lead and defend the existence  of his Islamic boarding school that he runs by himself, Kyai Lukman applies many strategies as follow: First, Kyai  Lukman’s  strategy  in managing  the  educational  funding. Kyai Lukman uses several kinds of method to fund the educational activities in his institution; they are self-funding and donation from the income of pesantren profit centers. Kyai Lukman increases the quality  of laborers in pesantren  Bahrul Maghfiroh by giving the examplary  attitude  of wara‘,  uswatun  hasanah  (good example) and riyadloh (tirokat)  to all students, all laborers and all teachers (asatizh). Kyai Lukman also expanded the curriculum of teaching in his pesantren. Second, the types of Kyai Lukman’s leadership. From many perceptions,  the researcher could classify that  Kyai Lukman has charismatic,  transformational, and visionary leader attitude.

Abstract

THE GENDER RELATIONS AND POWERS OF ISLAM IN INDONESIA:  This paper is a review of a book entitled  Gender and Power  in Indonesian Islam:  Leaders,  Feminists,  Sufis  and Pesantren Selves, edited by Bianca J. Smith and Mark Woodward published by Routledge, London and New York in 2014. This book examines the surrounding gender and development  of the role of women  in Indonesia,  in terms  of leadership, religious  politics, feminism, mysticism and its influence in Indonesia, especially the world of boarding schools. This book is brave enough to revealed the theme  about  the issue of gender namely in pesantren.  Like challenge  the  tiger  in its  cage. However,  in contrast  to gender studies written  by Westerners in general, this book is certainly a protagonist  and not hostile the Moslem such as the masterpiece of the Western people over the years. In addition,  the book also involves some local writers.  Most other Western  writers submit data  Indonesian  Islamic studies  in private  in the  sense of self- written. This is a new approach in the study of the contemporary orientalism  which increases the load Islamic studies objectively. However,  Islamic  studies   who  stuck  around  women  in this book still  feel mono-paradigm  though  written  by the East  side (Indonesia) and the West side. Therefore, the gender paradigm is used to show the impression of partiality  Islam against women at the same time which is practiced  in the involvement  of women on the  political  sphere leadership  and  Sufism  in Lombok  and Aceh which still  depart  from the paradigm  of Western  gender. In fact, the version of the typical domestic and gender approach demonstrated  that women has the balance position with men and women can take the fight against the men domination as the echo from the western version idea about the gender.
