Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of Adlerian group counseling to overcome egocentric behavior on adolescent students. The population in this study were students of class VIII D 11 Madison Junior High School, school year 2013/2014 the number of 10 students consisting of 5 students in the experimental group and a control group of 5 students. Collection file techniques in this study using a scale egocentric behavior and direct observation in the form of a check list. This study used an experimental method with a pure experimental design. And using the pre-test and post test design with a control goup kind treatment. In this study there are two groups : the control group and the experimental group ( traitment ) treatment given Adlerian group counseling. The control group was given left without treatment. Then both groups were given a post-test. Adlerian group counseling meetings held as many as 5 times. File analysis of the measurements before and after treatment using the Adlerian group counseling techniques to One Way ANOVA to study 10 subjects, showed that : the experimental group arithmetic average (means ) pre-test was 18.456 with a minimum score of 91 and a maximum score of 116 probability 0.003 and the arithmetic mean (means) post-test is 8.253 with a minimum score of 50 and a maximum score of 99 probability of 0.021, with a probability of homogeneity in the results of pre-test 0.444 and post-test 0.107 . Thus there is a decrease in scores after treatment rendered (traitment). From these data it can be concluded that the Adlerian group counseling proven effective in overcoming egocentric behavior on adolescent students . Abstract

This research applies make a match learning strategy in order to increase the competence in writing bibliography for students 11th  grade IPX II SMAK Bonaventura Madiun 2013-2014. Make  a  match  learning  strategy  takes  a  role  in  improving  students’ liveliness and learning achievement. Therefore, this research purposes to improve the students’ liveliness and learning achievement in writing bibliography. This research is a class action, because the research data obtained based on learning activities on 23 November 2013 cycle I and cycle II December 5, 2013. The datum in cycle 1 retrieved based on the students’ liveliness, the score of the quiz, and the analysis of students’ learning achievement. Datum of the second cycle retrieved based on students’ performance, the score of make a match strategy, and the analysis of students learning achievement. Based on the result of this research, noted that make a match strategy can increase the liveliness of the students during the teaching and learning activities cycle I in high and medium activity 53.33%, whereas in cycle II the students’ liveliness in high and medium activity is 100% of 30 students and in cycle I students’  learning  achievement  in  writing  bibliography  the  percentages  are 53.33% or there are 16 students passes and 46.66% or 14 students fails, while on cycle II 100% or 30 students pass. The application of make a match strategies function to increase the learning process in the classroom, and be accepts by the reader.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and explain the characterizations, plot, setting, theme, and the mandate in novel "Bidadari-bidadari Surga" by Tere Liye. This study   uses   descriptive   qualitative   approach,   the   research   was   based   on descriptive data in the form of sentences and paragraphs that support aspects studied. The depiction of figures was done by using expository and dramatic.The main character is Laisa, while additional figures are Mamak Lainuri, Dalimunte, Ikanuri, Wibisana, Yashinta, Wak Burhan, Cie Hui, and Goughsky. The plot used is backwards plot ( flashback ). Places where the story happened were Lahambay valley, capital of the province, Mount Gede, Rome airport, the Netherlands, and Mount Semeru. The time frame was around 1965 to 2008, morning, noon, night, midnight, and dawn. Social background is among farmers, people who still like to work together, the people who are still envious of the lives of others, and they who have a better family life. The major theme is sacrifice, while the minor theme is love of a sister to her youngsters and her hard work for their education. The mandate given to the reader, were ( 1 ) hard work will make better life, ( 2 ) learn from a mistake, and ( 3 ) finding a mate should not only consider the physical appearance ( beauty ).

Abstract

Personal counseling services and career guidance services are services provided guidance and counseling counselor to students. One of the purposes of the provision of these services is that students are able to understand him very well so that students succeed in reaching the goal - his. Therefore, understanding themselves into component very important for students. This study aimed to determine the effect of personal guidance and career counseling services to student understanding. The population in this study is a class XII student of SMA Negeri 1 Ponorogo Slahung academic year 2014/2015 amounted to 143 students and is divided into 7 classes. The sample in this study was 80% of the population are five classes (115 students). The sampling technique used is the author of Random Cluster. Data obtained by using questionnaires shaped scale is a scale private tutoring services, career guidance services scale, and the scale of student understanding. In this study, the authors propose three hypotheses, namely: 1) The first minor hypothesis: there is a significant effect of personal counseling services to students' self-understanding. 2) The second minor hypothesis: there is a significant effect of career guidance services to the student's self-understanding. 3) The major hypothesis: there is a significant effect of personal guidance and career counseling services to students' self-understanding. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression techniques. Model regression equation Y = -8.293 + 0.643 (X1) + 0.533 (X2). Further results of analysis show that: 1) There is a significant effect of private tutoring services to students' self-understanding which proved to t = 6.531 and t table = 1.980. 2) There is a significant influence of career guidance services to the self-understanding of students, who proved t = 7.214 and t table = 1.980. 3) There is a significant effect of personal guidance and career counseling services to students' self-understanding, which proved F count = 56.421 and F table = 3.09. Based on these results can be summarized as follows: 1) for t> t table then the first minor hypothesis is accepted. 2) for t> t table then the second minor hypothesis is accepted. 3) since F count> F table, the major hypothesis is accepted.

Abstract

This research aims to determine: (1) whether the ability to solve mathematical problems between groups of students who are taught by the expository method + mind map is better than the group of students who are taught by the expository method. (2) whether the ability to solve mathematical problems between groups of students who are taught by the expository method + mind map is better than the group of students who are taught by the expository method to for groups of students who are left brain dominant. (3) whether the ability to solve mathematical problems between groups of students who are taught by the expository method + mind map is better than the group of students who are taught by the expository method to for groups of students who are right brain dominant. This research is a quasi experimental quantitative research. This research was conducted for the eight grade in SMPN 1 Madiun and samples of class VIII A as a class experiment using expository + mind map and eight grade as class B control with expository. Samples were determined by the ability to solve mathematical problems and a questionnaire brain dominance. The first hypothesis is concluded that the ability to solve mathematical problems with expository + mind map is not better than the ability to solve mathematical problems with expository. The second and third hypotheses provide the same conclusion with the first hypothesis.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui proses dan hasil pengembangan pembelajaran matematika berbantuan GeoGebra dengan pendekatan laboratorium untuk pokok bahasan turunan fungsi di Kelas XI SMA. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan dengan perangkat dan instrumen yang dikembangkan berupa Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran, Buku Pedoman Guru, Buku Kerja Siswa, Soal Tes Prestasi belajar, Lembar Observasi Pengelolaan Pembelajaran, Lembar Observasi Aktivitas Siswa dan Angket Respon Siswa. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada tanggal 24 Mei-29 Mei 2013 di SMAN 05 Madiun kelas XI IPA 1. Menurut kriteria kevalidan, perangkat dan instrumen sudah dinyatakan valid oleh ketiga validator. Menurut kriteria kepraktisan, diketahui hasil analisis lembar observasi pengelolaan pembelajaran reliabel dan NKG cukup baik sehingga instrumen penelitian memenuhi kriteria kepraktisan. Menurut kriteria keefektivan, keefektivan dalam penelitian ini memiliki 3 indikator yaitu pencapaian prosentase waktu ideal siswa, pencapaian ketuntasan belajar siswa secara klasikal, dan respon siswa terhadap GeoGebra baik. Untuk pencapaian prosentase waktu ideal siswa, dari analisis lembar aktivitas siswa ditemukan bahwa siswa aktif dalam pembelajaran. Untuk pencapaian ketuntasan belajar siswa secara klasikal, berdasarkan hasil analisis tes hanya terdapat 2 orang siswa dari 21 siswa yang lulus. Untuk respon siswa terhadap GeoGebra terdapat 80,95% dari jumlah siswa yang memberikan respon baik, sehingga dapat disimpulkan respon siswa terhadap GeoGebra baik. Berdasarkan uraian di atas, maka proses pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran matematika berbantuan GeoGebra dengan pendekatan laboratorium pada pokok bahasan Turunan Fungsi kelas XI IPA 1 berdasarkan strategi pengembangan model 4-D yang telah dimodifikasi menjadi tiga tahap yaitu pendefinisian, perencanaan dan pengembangan. Kriteria dalam penelitian ini memenuhi kriteria kevalidan, kepraktisan namun belum efektif.

Abstract

This research purposes to know and explains the characterization, plot, setting, theme, and messages and moral value in the novel entitled Surga Retak written by Syahmedi Dean. This research uses descriptive qualitative approach, it means the data which is used to support this research is in the form of sentence and paragraph. The finding of the research: (1) The techniques which is used by the author to describe the character are expository technique, dramatic technique, and mixture technique. The main character is Suri, while the minor characters are Murad, Fatma, Koh Liang, Aminah, Amrul, Anto, Tante Nur, Nek Gintuk, Wilson, and Esther Ang. (2) The plot which is used is progressive plot because the story begins by the appearance of the conflict, and continues by the raising of the conflict, then the resolution, and finally reorientation. (3) The setting of places are Indonesia more details in Medan, rantau makmur village, barabatu, rubber botanical, and in Singapore. The setting of time is about 1983, in the era of President Soeharto, and his vice Umar wirahadikusumah. The social setting is in the lower class society. (4) The major theme is struggling. The minor themes are murdering, gambling, and human trafficking. (5) The message which is delivered to the reader is positive value.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know: (1)Whether or not there was some influence of emotional intelligence to students’ achievement in Mathematics. (2)  Whether or not there was some influence of emotional intelligence students’ attitude in Mathematics. This research is a quantitative Pre-Experiment Design. It was implemented to the second semester students of the academic year 2013/2014 of St. Thomas Aquino Senior High School Tulungagung with the class X as population. While, the sample of this research was the student of the class XE with Expository Learning. To obtain the sample, this research applied cluster random sampling technique. The techniques of data collection used were test with achievement test in Mathematics instrument and non test techniques with Emotional Intelligence questionnaire and students’ attitude in Mathematics questionnaire instruments. The achievement test was used to know the students’ achievement in Mathematics, while Emotional intelligence questionnaire was used to know the level of the students’ Emotional Intelligence, and students’ attitude in Mathematics questionnaire was used to know students’ attitude in Mathematics. The instruments were validated before trial. The result of research showed that (1) there was no influence of Emotional Intelligence to students’ achievement in Mathematics and (2) there was influence of Emotional Intelligence to students’ attitude in Mathematics.
