Abstract

This study aimed to determine the significant effect of the Picture Media-Assisted MID (Meaningful Instructional Design) Learning Model on students' Short Story Writing Ability and Learning Motivation in Bahasa Indonesia Online at grade V of SD Inpres Galangan Kapal 2, Makassar. The design of this study was a non-equivalent control group design. The data analysis techniques were descriptive analysis and inferential analysistechniques through the independent sample T-test and the Manova test. The study results found that the average score of students' short story writing ability in the pre-test was 55.16, and the average score in the post-test after implementing the MID model was 82.20. Then, the Independent sample T-test results found that Tcount = 3.118 > Ttable = 2.021, and the sig. value was 0.003 < 0.05. Moreover, after using the MID model assisted by image media, the students' learning motivation results obtained a Tcount of 8.085 > Ttable of 2.021 with the sig. value of 0.000 < 0.05. Then, the results of the Manova test found that 0.000 <0.05, indicating that Ha was accepted and Ho was rejected. Thus, the picture media-assisted MID model significantly influenced the students' short story writing skills and motivation to learn Bahasa Indonesia online at grade V of SD Inpres Galangan Kapal 2, Makassar.

Abstract

Social studies (IPS) subjects consist of fairly solid material, and understanding thevmaterial is usually performed by memorizing so that the students become bored. The lack of students' involvement also affects the learning process. Passive students make learning to be ineffective. One of the interesting learning methods for IPS lessons is the discussion method. This method refers to presenting or delivering lesson material in which educators provide opportunities for students or groups of students to hold scientific talks to gather opinions, make conclusions, or draw up various alternative solutions to a problem. This research used Classroom Action Research (CAR), applying a model of Kemmis and Mc. Taggart. This research was conducted at SDN X Simpang Gaung. The subjects of this research were 26 students at grade VI. This research revealed that the students' learning outcomes increased significantly after using the discussion method for two cycles. The average score in Cycle I was 75.25, with a classical completeness value of 54.93%. Meanwhile, the average score in Cycle II was 83.25, with a classical completeness value of 73.26%. This research concluded that the discussion method improved students' abilities and attractiveness to learn IPS subjects through WhatsApp.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of the problem-based learning model on improving students' critical thinking skills. Critical thinking refers to a person's ability to find information and solve a problem. The problem-based learning model is believed to stimulate students' ability to think creatively, analytically, systematically, and logically to find alternative problem solving through empirical data exploration to foster scientific attitudes. This study used Classroom Action Research (CAR) using the Kemmis and Mc. Taggart model. This study was conducted at SDN 010 Tembilahan Hulu. The subjects of this study were 28 students at grade IV. This study found that the classical completeness of students' critical thinking skills in Cycle I was 40%, and the average score was 53.4. Then, in Cycle II, the classical completeness was 80%, and the average score was 77. Therefore, the problem-based learning model improved students' critical thinking skills and attractiveness towards mathematics

Abstract

This study aimed to see the teachers' ability in designing semester tests. A good learning process enables the main learning objectives to be achieved adequately. The success of the teaching and learning process is seen from the ability to solve the problems, and students feel comfortable with the ongoing learning. A suitable method makes students feel interested in what they are learning. In this case, to see student learning outcomes, teachers must also have the ability to make questions or semester exam tests; this is done to evaluate how students' learning outcomes are achieved. This study was School Action Research (SAR) using a research design model of Kemmis and Mc. Taggart. The research was conducted at SD Negeri 025 Harapan Jaya, with the subjects of the study being the seven teachers there. The study, conducted in two cycles, revealed that the teachers' ability or understanding to design semester tests increased. It was found that the percentage in the first cycle was 30%, while the percentage in the second cycle was 70%. This study results reflected the teachers' ability to make and understand the rules of the semester tests according to the subjects they taught.

Abstract

Students’ learning activities at schools are less active; they find difficulties understanding the materials. The learning results are low because educators have not used an effective learning model. This study aimed to improve the teaching-learning activities and the students’ learning outcomes by using GI, SAVI, and TGT models. It was conducted at grade V of SDN Madang, Kabupaten Tabalong, South Kalimantan. This research utilized Classroom Action Research (CAR) which was conducted in 4 meetings. Data were obtained through observation sheets and evaluation tests of students’ learning outcomes. The data analysis was calculated based on the percentage scale and indicators of learning completeness. The results showed that the activities of educators scored 40 with very good criteria. It was found that 90% of students were very active, and 100% of students’ learning outcomes were complete. The conclusion was that learning through GI, SAVI, and TGT was effective. The activities of educators were very good, the students’ activities were increasing, and the learning outcomes on the water cycle material were complete

Abstract

Learning success cannot be separated from students’ interest and motivation toward mathematics learning. During the pandemic, teachers were required to be creative in fostering students’ learning motivation, one of which was the use of the Kahoot game. Kahoot is easy to use for upper-grade elementary school students, easily accessible, and allows students to work on questions interactively. In addition, the game provides scores and rankings that can trigger students to achieve higher results. For this reason, this study used Kahoot in mathematics learning. The researcher aimed to determine the effectiveness of Kahoot in increasing students’ motivation and learning outcomes in elementary schools. This study employed a quasi-experimental design using descriptive quantitative methods. The results revealed that Kahoot increased students’ learning motivation and learning outcomes. The increase in motivation was evident from students’ happiness and interest when using Kahoot. As students became more interested in the game, their learning motivation increased, as shown by a significance value of 0.048. This indicated that there was an improvement in motivation. Furthermore, the improvement in learning outcomes was proven through pretest and posttest results analyzed using a paired sample test. The significance value obtained was 0.000, which is less than 0.05, indicating a significant effect of the treatment on each variable. Thus, Kahoot was effectively used in mathematics learning, as evidenced by questionnaire results, students’ motivation, and improved learning outcomes.
