Abstract

This paper describes the effectiveness of the ARCS model approach in improving the critical reading skills of elementary students at the basic process skills level. The research used a pre-experimental design method of one group pretest-posttest type with the research subjects of sixth-grade students at SD Negeri 107397 Cinta Damai in Deli Serdang. Data on students' critical reading skills were collected using a previously validated critical reading test instrument. The research results indicate that applying the ARCS model approach in learning critical reading can improve elementary students’ critical reading skills at the basic process skills level. There is a significant improvement in students' skills to analyze, evaluate, and synthesize the information they read and it provides a basis for developing more effective learning approaches. The implications include the integration of the ARCS model in curriculum design and teacher training as well as further research with larger sample populations and broader contexts. It is expected that the application of the ARCS model can enrich teaching at the primary level and advance students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

This paper (1) describes students’ character values through the Team Games Tournament learning model assisted by Plickers media, (2) describes students’ learning outcomes through the Team Games Tournament learning model assisted by media Plickers, and (3) describes the effect of the Plickers media-assisted Team Games Tournament learning model on students’ character values and learning outcomes simultaneously. The research is quasi-experimental research with a non-equivalent control group design. The population of the research was all the fifth-grade students of SD Cluster 1 in Manuju. Through random sampling technique, the researcher selected the fifth-grade students of SD Inpres Pattallikang and SD Inpres Tanakaraeng as research samples. Data were collected through questionnaires and tests, and subsequently analyzed through t-test (paired sample t-test). The research results indicate that there were differences in students’ character values and social science learning outcomes in the control and experimental classes. The average character values and learning outcomes in the experimental class were higher than the control class. Thus, it can be concluded that the Team Games Tournament learning model influences the character values and students’ social science learning outcomes.

Abstract

This paper discusses the development of learning videos based on Canva in order to be suitable use as varied, creative, and innovative learning videos on theme 7 of sub-theme 1 learning 1 regarding ethnic and religious diversity in my country in class IV-B SDIT Asalamah. With the development of this learning video, the students become more interested and enthusiastic to learn in class. The research method used by the author is Research and Development (R&D) using the ADDIE methodology (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Learning video media uses the Canva app, which was designed and tested by linguists with a 100% rating. It is categorized as feasible, 94% of the material expert reviews are rated feasible, and the media review test is rated 100% as very feasible. The small group test indicates an average score of 73.33% with a feasible category and the large group test implies an average score of 95.06% with a very feasible category. The results of the pretest and posttest are also produced with N-gain at 0.72, which means that the students can follow and complete the learning process properly. Thus, it can be concluded that the developed learning video media is suitable to be used by teachers and students in the learning process at SDIT Assalamah Depok.

Abstract

This paper describes the theory of constructivism as an effort to increase students' understanding of Natural Science learning subjects in elementary schools using Project-Based learning in learning practices. PjBL is based on constructivism theory, which prioritizes the urgency of the knowledge-compiling process by students themselves actively, based on the knowledge that has been previously possessed. PjBL is a learning process that supports student-centered learning and experiential learning. PjBL can be one of the solutions for teachers in an attempt to direct students to understand the material, foster creativity, work on projects, and strengthen the process of collaborative group cooperation. Natural Science learning subject in elementary schools aims to provide direct experience to students in order to gain a more meaningful understanding and insight about the environment, which becomes a medium for students to learn about themselves and their environment. The research in this paper is qualitative and uses literature review methods. Journal search comes from the search at Google Scholar, Researchgate, ERIC, and others. The data analysis techniques are (1) data reduction, which means that to remove various things that are not needed and focusing on the important ones, (2) data exposure, which is describing data presented based on certain sub- sections, and (3) drawing conclusions from the results of recent research that has not conducted yet before.

Abstract

The development of interactive learning media using Articulate Storyline 3 on plane figure material aims to determine the development and feasibility of product development through interactive learning media. The research methodology used is Research and Development with the ADDIE approach (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) with the research subject of students at class IV-C SDN Julang Bogor. The instruments used in the research are media expert validation sheets, linguists and material experts with a total of three experts, students and teacher response instruments, and pre-test and post-test instruments. The validation results produce an average score of 93.7% with the "Very Feasible" criteria. Moreover, the results of the pre-test and post-test assessment produce an N-Gain score of 0.70 with the "High" criteria. Students’ responses indicate 98.7% and teachers’ responses indicate 88% with the "Very Good" criteria. Based on the results, the development of interactive learning media using Articulate Storyline 3 on plane figure material in class IV SDN Julang Bogor meets the criteria of validity and feasibility for its development, especially on plane figure material.

This LKPD product was developed using the ADDIE model, which was tested at MIN 2 West Lampung. As many as 15 students were in the control class and 25 students were in the experimental class. The research results indicate that the validated LKPD based on the validity test analysis using Aiken reveals a score of 0.8210 in the valid category. The analysis of the practicality test indicates 85% for educators and 88% for students, both are in the very practical category. The product effectiveness analysis reveals an average pre-test score of 58.4 and an average post-test score of 83.2. The development of worksheets based on the PBL model has a significant influence on students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

This paper discusses the improvement of students’ learning outcomes through the application of LKPD (Students’ Worksheet) based on local wisdom. Indonesian local character is essential to be taught to students including through teaching materials in the form of LKPD based on local wisdom that can be used as a reference in the teaching and learning process. LKPD is one of the teaching materials in which there are all the basic activities carried out by students in order to maximize their understanding and formation of basic skills based on the indicators of competency achievement. The research used is Classroom Action Research (PTK) using the research design of Kemmis and Mc. Taggart model. The research was conducted at SDN 189 Pekanbaru. The research subjects involved 20 fourth-grade students. The research uses quantitative data analysis. Descriptive statistical data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and evaluation tests at the end of the cycle. Based on the results of cycle I to cycle II, there was a significant improvement with an achievement percentage of 75%. 35% of students have not achieved the KKM standard yet. The students’learning outcomes in social science learning through the application of LKPD learning media based on local wisdom increased. The students’ average score increased from the initial reflection of 62.25 with the highest score at 80 and the lowest score from 35 to 74.00. Thehighest score was 90 and the lowest score was 40 in cycle I. Even though it was not appropriate with the KKM that had been determined in cycle II, it increased to 80.00 with the highest score of 90 and the lowest score of 55.
