Abstract

This research was motivated by the low learning outcomes of third-grade Civics (PKn) students at SD Negeri 188 Pekanbaru, with a class average score of 68.25. Of the 40 students, only 17 achieved the minimum mastery criteria. This study employed classroom action research aimed at improving the Civics learning outcomes of third-grade students at SD Negeri 188 Pekanbaru through the application of the Make a Match type cooperative learning model. The subjects of this study were third-grade students of SD Negeri 188 Pekanbaru in the 2018/2019 academic year. Data were collected using teacher activity observation sheets, student activity observation sheets, and learning outcome tests. The results showed that the average learning outcome increased from 68.25 before the action to 76.87 in Cycle I, representing an improvement of 12.63%. In Cycle II, the average score further increased to 81.50, indicating an improvement of 19.41%. Teacher activity also improved, with a percentage of 62.50% (sufficient category) at the first meeting of Cycle I, increasing to 79.16% (good category) at the second meeting. In Cycle II, teacher activity increased to 83.33% (good category) at the first meeting and reached 95.83% (very good category) at the second meeting. These findings indicate that students demonstrated better understanding of Civics learning after the implementation of the Make a Match cooperative learning model, as reflected in increased teacher activity, student activity, and learning outcomes in each cycle. The study concludes that the Make a Match cooperative learning model effectively improves Civics learning outcomes of third-grade students at SD Negeri 188 Pekanbaru.

Abstract

This research was motivated by differences in the implementation of the 2013 Curriculum compared to the previous curriculum. This study aimed to describe teachers’ competence in implementing the 2013 Curriculum (K13) learning on Theme 1 Sub-theme 3 for Grade IV at SDN 181 Pekanbaru. The subject of this study was the teacher of class IVB. The research design used in this study was descriptive qualitative. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis in this study employed the Miles and Huberman data analysis technique, which consisted of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study showed that the implementation of educative learning carried out by teachers through initial activities, core activities, and closing activities in one sub-theme of learning over four meetings reached 62% of the predetermined criteria. Based on the category of the multilevel scale, the teacher’s competence in implementing learning was classified in the poor interval.

Abstract

The implementation of the Problem-Based Learning model encourages students to be active in the teaching and learning process, actively think, and develop problem-solving skills, thereby creating active and independent learning that can improve student learning outcomes. To strengthen the scientific approach, it is recommended to apply Problem-Based Learning to encourage students to be creative and contextual, both individually and in groups. The purpose of this study was to improve the learning outcomes of Grade IV students on Theme I at SDN 158 Pekanbaru by applying the Problem-Based Learning model. This type of research was classroom action research with a collaborative pattern. The purpose of this classroom action research was to improve student learning outcomes and enhance the quality of learning practices applied. The research subjects were Grade IVA students at SDN 158 Pekanbaru, totaling 31 students, consisting of 13 female and 18 male students. The data collection instruments used in this study were observation sheets of teacher and student activities, observation sheets of student attitudes, and learning outcome tests. The data analysis technique used in this study was descriptive quantitative analysis. The results of this study showed that the application of the Problem-Based Learning model could improve student learning outcomes in Sub-theme 2 and Sub-theme 3, namely the baseline score (UH Sub-theme 1), which averaged 69.03, increased in Cycle I daily test (UH Sub-theme 2) to an average of 73.70, and further increased in Cycle II daily test (UH Sub-theme 3) to 84.03. Teacher and student activities at each meeting in Cycle I and Cycle II experienced an increase, although there were occasional fluctuations.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop interactive multimedia learning media for science subjects using Adobe Flash for Grade IV-C elementary school students. The development resulted in an interactive multimedia learning product packaged in the form of an interactive CD. This study employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the 4D development model, which consists of four stages: define, design, develop, and disseminate. The results of the validation tests indicated that the interactive multimedia learning media for science subjects was categorized as valid and feasible. Validation by media experts obtained a score of 3.75, categorized as very valid, while validation by material experts resulted in a score of 3.50, also categorized as very valid. User validation yielded a score of 3.54, categorized as good. Furthermore, the effectiveness test based on the N-Gain analysis produced a value of 0.60, which falls into the medium category, indicating that the interactive multimedia learning media was effective. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the interactive multimedia learning media for science subjects developed using Adobe Flash is feasible and effective for use in the teaching and learning process for Grade IV-C elementary school students.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze the effectiveness of the Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) model in improving social studies learning outcomes of elementary school students. This model is one type of cooperative learning that can increase students’ learning motivation. First, the researcher formulated the research problem and then collected existing research data that had been published through Google Scholar. The research data consisted of 12 journal articles and 1 relevant thesis. The researcher analyzed the results of the studies using quantitative comparative methods. Based on the results of the analysis, the Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) model is effectively used to improve social studies learning outcomes of elementary school students. The increase in elementary students’ learning outcomes ranged from the lowest increase of 6.9% to the highest increase of 56.6%, with an average increase of 34.61%. Keywords: , elementary school

Abstract

Educational development through education must be adjusted to the needs of the community. Changes in the learning process under the 2013 Curriculum have significantly affected teachers’ readiness to implement it in schools. Based on the results of a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) conducted with elementary school teachers in the Kuningan region, it was found that most teachers still experience difficulties in implementing learning processes in accordance with the 2013 Curriculum. These findings indicate the need for further investigation into the factors causing teachers’ difficulties in applying the curriculum-based learning process. Therefore, this study aims to examine the implementation of process standards in the 2013 Curriculum at the elementary school level. This research employed a case study method and was conducted at public elementary schools in Kuningan Regency, namely SD Negeri Dukuhdalem (Japara District), SD Negeri 1 Manislor (Jalaksana District), and SD Negeri 1 Purwawinangun (Kuningan District). The research instruments used were observation sheets and interview guides. The results of the study indicate that the main obstacles in implementing the syllabus under the 2013 Curriculum include a lack of socialization regarding changes in syllabus content, teachers’ difficulties in preparing lesson plans—particularly in incorporating activities aligned with the scientific approach—and discrepancies between the required learning materials and those provided in textbooks. In terms of classroom management, teachers faced challenges related to their limited readiness to adapt to changes in the learning process. Furthermore, in the assessment aspect, most teachers reported difficulties due to the complexity of the assessment system and the limited availability of assessment instruments. These findings suggest that teachers still encounter significant challenges in fully implementing the learning and assessment processes mandated by the 2013 Curriculum.

Abstract

The research method used is a quasi-experimental method which consists of experimental class and class II controlkelas SDN 79 Pekanbaru, which illustrates a significant difference in the ability to calistung between the two. Research on the data pretest seen from arithmetic average of the experimental 70.66 and control 65.9, experimental writing skills 77, and controls 71.6, experimental ability to read 76, and controls 77.5. To find significant differences in the ability of the chi square analysis was used to calculate the ability Xhitung <Xtabel (1.67 <3.841), there was no significant difference, the ability to write with Xhitung <Xtabel (0.6 <3.841), there was no significant difference on writing skills, and the ability to read with Xhitung <Xtabel (1.12 <3.841), there was no significant difference in reading ability. Posttest data seen from the average value of the experimental class numeracy 75.6 and 71.7 control, the ability to write an experimental class 81.9 and control 74.6, literacy class experimental 82.1 and control 78.5. To determine differences in the ability to use the chi square analysis on numeracy Xhitung <Xtabel (3.51 <3.841), there was no significant difference in the experimental class and the control class numeracy skills. The ability to write with Xhitung <Xtabel (3.51 <3.841), there was no significant difference, while the ability to read Xhitung <Xtabel (0.71<3.841), there was no significant difference. Improved results in the experimental class capabilities calistung numeracy skills of 0.15, and control 0.16, the ability to write of 0.26, and control 0.11, the ability to read the experimental class of 0.31, and controls 0.07, it is seen larger in capacity building calistung the experimental class.

Abstract

Problem in the research was started from observation the author encountered in the field that many students have not been able to do 100 metre breaststroke swimming well. It could be seen when students did not finish 100 metre breaststroke swimming. The purpose of this research was to know the legs muscle strength and endurance with a speed of 100 metre breaststroke swimming of the students from Sports Education Riau University. This type of research was correlational. The population in this research was 53 students from Sports Education. Purposive sampling was used to get sample as many as 30 students. To get the data, it was used legs muscle strength and endurance and speed of 100 metre breaststroke swimming. The data were analyzed with correlation simple product moment. Based on the analysis of data, it was found that there was a significant relationship between legs muscle strength and endurance and speed of 100 metre breaststroke swimming of the student form Sports Education Riau University, in which r.count (0,455) > r. table (0,361) on α (0,05).

Abstract

The problem in this research was students’ achievement in fifth graderes (Vd) SDN 184 Pekanbaru still low with average value 68,63 (with KKM 70). The purpose of this research was to improve the students’ achievement of the fifth graderes (Vd) SDN 184 Pekanbaru with the implementation of cooperative learning model type Numbered Head Together (NHT). This research was an classroom action research with two cycles in second semester 2013/2014. After implementation of cooperative learning model type Numbered Head Together (NHT), students’ achievement average on test I was 72,50 that improved 5,63% from pre test with average 68,63. Students’ achievement average on test II was 86,16 that improved 25,54%. Teacher’s activity with the implementation of cooperative learning model type Numbered Head Together (NHT) in first meeting of first cycle was 70,00% (good category), and 76,16% (good category) in second meeting that improved 6,16 point. At second cycle, teacher’s activity in first meeting was 91,66% (verygood category) that improved 15,5 point from second meeting of first cycle. It got 95,83% (verygood category) in second meeting, which improved 4,17 point. Students’ activity in first meeting of first cycle was 66,66% (good category), and 70,83% (good category) in second meeting that improved 4,17 point. At second cycle, students’ activity in first meeting was 76,16% (good category) that improved 5,33 point from second meeting of first cycle. Finally, it got 91,66% (verygood category) in second meeting, which improved 15,5 point. So, the implementation of cooperative learning model type Numbered Head Together (NHT) can improved students’ achievement of fifth graderes (Vd) SDN 184 Pekanbaru.

Abstract

Based on the writer’s observations in the field showed speed of Tendangan Sabit of Pencak Silat from Students Community Unit of Riau Islamic University was still low. This research aimed to know the influence weight method towards the speed of Tendangan Sabit of Pencak Silat from Students Community Unit of Riau Islamic University. This research method was an experimental research (aquasi-experimental). This research population were totally 13 athletes, whereas the samples were taken through total sampling so that it was got 13 male athletes. A test was used to find out the speed of Tendangan Sabit of Pencak Silat from Students Community Unit of Riau Islamic University. The Data obtained were analyzed using t-test. The Results of the analysis of the data indicates that weight method gives a significant influence toward the speed of Tendangan Sabit from Students Community Unit of Riau Islamic University since T-obs (5.839) was bigger than T-table (1.782). (3) It can be seen that weight method a significant influence toward the speed of Tendangan Sabit from Students Community Unit of Riau Islamic University.
