Abstract

Mathematics is a subject that is always encountered and taught at any level an education unit. Amun, many learners view math as the most difficult subject of many subjects. This was difficult because mathematics was abstract and boring. So interest in learning the lesser lessons is highlighted with a few other subjects taught in school. So a way to leverage interest in math is to use an educational game like wordwall. The study explains how wordwall game affects the interest in elementary student mathematics and the student's interest in math. The method used in this study is to apply quantitative methods by using advanced studies in pre-test and post-test forms. The subject of this study is subulussalam elementary class v student, SDN 02 cijoro lebak, SDN new kampong researchers are taking samples of 37 students using sampling samples. Statistical data analysis results after treatment results results from sig 0,006 < 0,05 and can be drawn to the conclusion that there is a difference before treatment and after treatment. Then it can be drawn to the conclusion that between the wordwall variables has an influence with student learning interests.

Learning video media uses the Canva app, which was designed and tested by linguists with a 100% rating. It is categorized as feasible, 94% of the material expert reviews are rated feasible, and the media review test is rated 100% as very feasible. The small group test indicates an average score of 73.33% with a feasible category and the large group test implies an average score of 95.06% with a very feasible category. The results of the pretest and posttest are also produced with N-gain at 0.72, which means that the students can follow and complete the learning process properly. Thus, it can be concluded that the developed learning video media is suitable to be used by teachers and students in the learning process at SDIT Assalamah Depok.

Abstract

The classroom action research in this paper aims to increase students’ critical thinking and learning outcomes in Social Science learning subjects in Grade 5A of SD Kristen 3 Eben Haezer Salatiga in the second semester of the academic year 2022/2023 by implementing the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model. The research findings reveal that the application of PBL had a significant positive impact. The student’s critical thinking skills indicate improvement with the students’ percentage in the high and very high categories increasing from 30% to 62% in cycle 1, and achieving 81% in cycle 2. Moreover, the implementation of PBL successfully increased the percentage of students who achieved learning achievement from 26.92% to 92.31%. There was also an improvement in the average student scores from 55 to 84.29 in cycle 2. The steps of the PBL model applied in the research of this paper included orienting students to the problem, organizing students to conduct research, guiding independent or group investigations, developing and presenting work results, as well as analyzing and evaluating problem-solving processes. Thus, it can be concluded that the PBL model is effective in increasing students’ critical thinking and learning outcomes in the Social Science learning subject in Grade 5A of SD Kristen 3 Eben Haezer Salatiga. The implication of the research is that the PBL model can be utilized as an effective alternative to improve student’s critical thinking and learning outcomes in Social Science learning.

Abstract

Changes in learning policies as the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic resulted in performance demands and different competence. Learning that was initially applied face-to-face should be carried out online by relying on creative learning media and more detailed implementation reports. As a result, the workload and responsibilities of each teacher during the pandemic tend to trigger heavier work stress. Stress in working is an essential factor. Proper unmanageable work stress can affect their physical, emotional, and productivity. Work stress levels can be similar or different, it depends on different genders. Therefore, the study in this paper aims to find out the relationship between work stress, workload, and the gender of primary school teachers (SD) during the pandemic in Surakarta. The samples were selected using the Cluster Random Sampling technique, which obtained 350 SD teachers. Data collection used workload scales and work stress (Refiany, 2019). The data were analyzed using Pearson’s Product Moment correlation techniques and the Mann-Whitney test for gender, which indicate that there was a significant relationship between workload and SD teacher work stress during the pandemic in Surakarta (r = 0.781, p = 0,000) and was significantly difference between the genders (p 0,035<0,05). The relationship between workload and work stress is positive. Thus, the higher the teachers’ workload is, the higher their work stress is. Workload contributes 61% to high work stress.
