Farabi is an academic journal published by the LPPM IAIN Sultan Amai Gorontalo, INDONESIA. Farabi published twice a year (every six months, ie Juni aThis journal focuses on Ushuluddin and Islamic Thought. It dedicates as public space to develop and promote Islamic thought, idea, and philosophy based on the original research and current issues which are underlying the value of tolerance and moderation, such as the following but not limited to these specific issues.

<![CDATA[The media plays an important role in the process of socio-cultural change in the community. With the support of technology, media has helped to break the distance between macro-social and micro-social also between macro-cultural and micro-cultural. Media brings the themes of the public to the private sphere where it entered and affected by the condition, orientation and local customs. This paper attempts to examine how the role of the media in the process of social and cultural changes in society. It can be concluded, that the role of the media lies in the ability to embed the pictures in our heads, underlie responsiveness and public attitudes toward various social objects.]]>

<![CDATA[Koran presented a challenge to everyone who doubted it to create something like the Koran. This challenge applies without any time limit. Therefore, the miracle of the Qur'an valid today. This article reinforces the argument that one of the authenticity of the Koran is the Koran's ability to survive throughout the centuries without any editorial changes even one letter. Metaphysical assurances given by God proved because until now no one was able to disrupt the contents of the Koran by changing the wording. Instead of editorial changes, changes in vowel or the letter will soon be known because so many Muslims in this world for generations who memorized the Koran. Moreover, with the printing and computerized systems today will further ensure the integrity and preservation of the Koran.]]>

<![CDATA[Living hadith is the sunnah of the Prophet who freely interpreted by scholars, rulers and judges according to their situation, or also known as the "living sunnah". There are three models of living sunnah are traditions of writing, oral traditions and tradition of practices. This paper take the focus living oral tradition that comes with practice run of Muslims. The research in this paper is the literature research as it relates to issues raised by the researchers is living oral traditions related to the theory into practice yet. <![CDATA[In the perspective of humanistic psychology, personality development is implemented through self-actualization and peak experiences. Self-actualization is a form of actualizing one's passion in line with expectations and potential. While the peak experience is the culmination of the development of man himself when he has found himself at the peak of development using the entire faculty. For humanistic psychology, the whole development of the human personality rests on the willingness of a person itself and has nothing to do with religion or God. In this context, Said Nursi presents a different perspective. According to Nursi, the development of human personality have to rely on the realm of faith in God. Because faith is a sacred relationship between man and God that became the basis of his spiritual personality development. Similarly, because the human being as a comprehensive mirror that can reflect names of God, the spiritual development of the human personality can be actualized with names of God manifestation. Therefore, this article discusses the development of personality in perspective Said Nursi, which is based on the Quran and Sunnah.]]>

<![CDATA[This article discusses one of interpretation styles of the Koran that is quite unique, the Sufi interpretation. As one of the traditions that become an integral part of the history of Islamic civilization, tasawwuf atausufisme, which widely became popular in the Islamic community in the 4th century AH / 10 AD, in turn, are also in contact with the Koran as the main source text in Islam from which is born of a chain of civilization. In particular, this paper will briefly review some of the major themes of the Sufi interpretation, including Sufism contact with the Koran, the early appearance of Sufi interpretation, development, and several major hermeneutical constructions that underlie the Sufi style interpretation.]]>

<![CDATA[The development of science is a complex process of individual creativity. Because of that science should not be described or regulated by any form of regulation or legal system. To resist attempts to curb the science in formal and rigid forms, Paul Feyerabend offers two things, namely that replicates the principles and the principle of anything goes. The principle of the development means, we do not work in a system of thought life forms and the single institutional framework. Instead, we should put pluralism as a theory and methodology, systems of thought and forms of life within the institutional framework. And the principle of freedom anything goes (anything goes), means freeing all forms of a trip is, without much bound by a system. Feyerabend thought it quite well practiced in religious studies because they could create an understanding that is not stuck to the approach dogmatic and ideological. The plurality of approaches when assessing religions is richness to create a wide variety of religious studies approaches.]]>

<![CDATA[Perbedaan mendasar antara kitab-kitab sirah dengan kitab karangan Imam Baihaqi berjudul “Dalai’il Nubuwah” adalah bahwa sesungguhnya kitab sirah membahas sejarah hidup Nabi Saw dari sebelum kelahirannya hingga masa meninggalnya. Sementara kitab “Dala’il Nubuwah” menetikberatkan pada peristiwa-peristiwa tertentu yang memperkuat pengutusan Muhammad sebagai Nabi dan Rasul. Kitab Dala’il juga dikenal dan diterima secara luas sebagai rujukan karena dalam membahas peristiwa-peristiwa tersebut selalu disertai dengan sanad. Inilah yang membedakan kitab tersebut dengan kitab-kitab lainnya.]]>

One was taken to the efforts is reinterpretation of Islamic texts (Koran) in accordance with the spirit of this time. <![CDATA[Communication as the process of delivering a message from the communicator to communicant through media and produce effect, raises questions related to human communication made with God by naked eye can not see. This paper discusses the transcendental communication, ie communication that occurs between man and God. In this paper stated that all communication elements exist in communication between man and God. Source of communication or communicators consisted of God and man. The message in the form of verses of God through the Qur’an and pray, remembrance delivered man to God. The line is the Qur'an serve as channels of God's messages and intra channel's private. Receiver or communicant basically the same as the source or communicator. And feedback effects expected in this transcendental communication is a human being should do what he was told and stay away from what is forbidden. Effects can also be granted the praying, inner peace, or can occupy heaven in the hereafter. While the models of communication that could be in line with the communication process is the Model SR transcendental, Aristotle Model, and Model of Lasswell.]]>
