Abstract

result in Public Junior High School 2 Batang Anai is low. The aims of theresearch to know whether the student’s Math concept understanding applying theactive learning strategy of True and False statement type is better than student’sMath concept understanding applying the conventional learning or not. The typeof the research is experimental research. The population is all of the students ofVIII grade of Public Junior High School 2 Batang Anai in academic year2013/2014 and the random sampling technique is used, in which the samplingclasses are VIIIA and VIIIC. The instrument is Math concept understanding test.The test is in the form of essay with the test reliability 0,86. The techniqueof data analysis used is applying one way t test. Based on the hypothesis test, it isfound that and Because of thehypothesis on the research is accepted. It can be concluded that the student’s Mathconcept understanding applying the active learning strategy of True and Falsestatement type is better than student’s Math concept understanding applying theconventional learning.

Abstract

The background of this research is base on book activity (LKS) that used by theteacher still low in guiding low in guiding students to kind the concept ok math.Students is still low to understandmaterial about quadrilateral plane. It needs todevelop book activity (LKS) which can guide studentsdireetly and actively in kindingthe concept of learning. The purpose of this research is developing book activity(LKS) base on guided diacovery in validly and practicaly in quadrilateral planesubjeer. In designing this research, the researcher used four-D as modeldevelopment. There are four steps was done. Those are definision, designing,developing, and disseminate. The validator of this research arecectutes and teachers.The result of this research showed that book activity (LKS) base on guided discoveryin quadrilateral plane subject was valid and practice base on category.

Abstract

The background of the research is the need of teaching material in the learning process. The teaching materials expected is the teaching material that is able to guide the students to study independently, to be understood easily and to have a communicative language to the students and to increase the ability of student’s problem-solving. The research aims to know the validity and practicalities of problem-based module. The type of the research is the development by using ADDIE model. ADDIE model consists of 5 stages, i.e. analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation. The module produced is categorized into very valid by validator for its content, language, presentation, and graph with the final result, i.e. 83 %. The module produced is also categorized very practical by the teacher with the final result, i.e. 89 % and categorized by the students with the final result, i.e. 92 % for its easiness, time, equivalence, and interpretation.

Abstract

The research is motivated by the student accept what the teacher, students are not accustomed to thinking to find concepts learned, students easily forget the material being studied and the results of students mathematics learning low. The purpose of this research to know whether there is any effect of applying the model of Problem Based Learning (PBL) with College Ball to learning mathematics, to know how the attitudes and skills of VIII class students of SMP Negeri 3 Batang Kapas. The study was pre-experimental research design with pre-test and post-test. Sampling technique was done randomly, selected as the experimental class VIIIB class. Is a research instrument test with used is test t, observation sheets attitudes and skills. Based on the calculations obtained tcount= 18.42, more than t(α/2) = 2.05, with α = 0.05, then the hypothesis is accepted. It can be concluded that there is a model application of Problem Based Learning (PBL) is accompanied mathematics. Attitudes and skills after execution models poblem Based Learning (PBL) with the College Ball, the better.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the student’s understanding on mathematics conpent that still low and students on interest in learning mathematics. This research was aimed at revealing whether the use of Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) models could give a better effect on the student’ understanding on mathematics concept than the conventional one in class VIII MTsN Talaok Bayang Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan. This was an experimental research which used random research design toward the subject. The instrument used in this research is a test in students’ understanding on mathematics concept. Based on the result of data analysis, it was revealed that the sample was distributed normally and had homogeny variant. Hypothesis test results obtained was bigget than indicating that the hypotesis was accepted. So, it was concluded that the application of Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) models could improve the students’ understanding on mathematics concept, and better than the conventional one.

Abstract

Background in the research is due to the lack of individual responsibility in the process of learning and understanding of the concept of mathematical ability of students is still low. The purpose of research to determine whether a mathematical concept understanding students with applying the technique of One To One better than on a mathematical concept understanding students with conventional learning.This type of research is a research experiment, the population in this research is grade VII, 228 11 Padang. The technique of sampling was done randomly (Random Sampling). The instruments used in the research was the ultimate test with the understanding of the concept of indicators. The test form is used with the reliability test essai shaped r11 0,979. Hypothesis testing-test t used one hand.Based on the hypothesis test results obtained are thitung and ttabel is 6.72 1,58 so reject H0 and H1, then received a research hypothesis is accepted. So it can be concluded that the concept of a mathematical understanding of the application of Engineering students with One To One better than understanding mathematical concepts to students who use conventional learning in Class VII SMPN 11 Padang.

Abstract

The background of the research is the teaching material has not been able to helpthe students to construct the knowledge in finding the concept of teachingmaterial. The effect is the students tend to receive than to understand the learningconcept. The research aims to develop a valid and practical constructivism-basedof student’s work sheet related to the material of enumeration rule. The type of theresearch is the development by using IDI model. IDI model consists of threedevelopment stages, i.e. define, develop, and evaluation. The validity test result ofstudent’s constructivism-based work sheet by validator is very valid, i.e. 3.51. Thestudent practical test result shows that constructivism-based work sheet is in thecategory of very practical, i.e. 81.25 % and the teacher practical test result is 76.78%, which is in the category of very practical. It can be concluded that student’sconstructivism-based work sheet related to the material of enumeration rule isvery valid and practical.

Abstract

The background of this research is about the low of students understanding ofmathematical concepts. This study is aimed to determine whether the applying theactive learning strategy type (LSQ) effect on students understanding ofmathematical concepts at VIII class in SMP 14 Padang. The type of this researchis experimental research, the research design with One Shot Case Study. Thepopulation of this research is 14 students at VIII class in SMP Padang whichconsists of seven classes. The technique is random sampling. The sample isselected VIII.1 class. The instrument used in this research is a test ofunderstanding of mathematical concepts in the form of the final test. The form ofthe test used is the form of an essay by a reliability test is r11 = 0.632. The dataanalysis technique used is t-test. Based on the final math test scores of students inthe class samples obtained an average grade of experiments = 75.96. From theanalysis of the data obtained t = 22.02 and ttable = 2.05. Thus, it can be concludedthat study by using active learning strategies LSQ type effect on the understandingof mathematical concepts at VIII class in SMPN 14 Padang.

Abstract

The background of the research is the lack of student’s Math concept. Theresearch aims to know how the development of student’s Math conceptunderstanding of VIII grade students of Public Junior High School (SMPN) 3Sawahlunto through quiz and the application influence of active Learning Modelof ETH type to the student’s Math concept understanding in Public Junior HighSchool (SMPN) 3 Sawahlunto. The type of the research is pre experimentresearch with the research design of one shot case study. The population of theresearch is the VIII grade students consisting of seven classes. The research usesa random sampling technique. The selected sampling class is VIII.1 class. Theinstruments used on the research are essay quiz and post-test with the reliabilitytest is 0.755. The technique of analyzing the data is descriptive analysis. Based onthe post-test result of the sampling class students, it is found that the average ofsampling class is 72.6. It is higher than a Minimum Completeness Criteria (KKM)i.e. 70. Based on the quiz result, it is also found that there is an increase ofstudent’s grade average. It can be concluded that the using the active LearningModel of ETH type gives influence to the student’s Math concept understanding inPublic Junior High School (SMPN) 3 Sawahlunto.

Abstract

The background of this research is base on how to importans teaching materials in learning process. Instructional materials that are expected to facilitate and guide students to learn independently, and make it easier to understand the concept correctly. Student activity sheet (LKS) that there have not been able to help students understand and remember math concepts well. Associated with the development of teaching materials in the form of discovery learning LKS based on the material logaritma and exponent. This study aims to determine how the validity and practicalities of discovery learning-based LKS. This type of research is the development of the 4-D models consists of four phases: phase define, design, develop, and disseminate. In this study is only conducted three phase. LKS validation results based discovery learning-based validator shows LKS very valid invention is about 4,70. Test the practicalities of the students showed discovery learning LKS based on the category of very practical is 86,1%. It can be concluded that the LKS-based discovery learning is very valid and very practical.
